Shustov (Шустов) is a brand of Russian vodka. At the beginning of the 20th century, Shustov's Cognac was widely known and one of the most frequently advertised Russian liqueurs, with images appearing in major magazines and newspapers throughout Europe.
History
Nikolay Shustov , a 40-year-old merchant, started the company in 1863 with a small liquor distillery, based in the former farriery building on Maroseyka Street in Moscow. For about two years the factory stayed at that address, producing a limited range of pure alcohol and wine. According to government records from 1881, Shustov's products ranked 16th place in the alcohol market, with 18 employees and an annual production of 3,950 vodka buckets.
