Karakoçan (Template:Lang-ota Tepe, Template:Lang-ku,[2] Template:Lang-hy) is a town and district of Elazığ Province in the Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey. The mayor is Ayhan Akbaba (AKP). The population is 13,279.
