"Good" articles proposed by bot

AlexNewArtBot (talk · contribs · logs) is a hard working bot that automatically patrols New Articles and puts relevant articles into the New Articles lists of Portals and Projects. AlexNewArtBot generates this Good Search Result list according to a predefined set of bot rules. AlexNewArtBot adds new proposals to this list each day at around 17:00. (See AlexNewArtBot Good Log). This list then is transcluded automatically into Template talk:Did you know.

The bot results are more of a data dump and the bot does not sort them under the correct date or guarentee their appropriateness for DYK. For each data dump, please consider the following.

  1. Separate into articles that potentially could be posted on DYK and articles that most likely would not be posted on DYK.
  2. Place the articles that most likely would not be posted on DYK under a Discards heading and cross out each such entry.
  3. For the articles that potentially could be posted on DYK, group under an appropriate date heading (e.g. ====June 10, 2007====)
  4. In addition, for the articles that potentially could be posted on DYK, consider prompting the author of the article to nominate the article by posting on their talk page something like the following.

    Hi YYYY. You are off to such a great start on the article [[xxxxx]] that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's [[Main Page]] under the '''Did you know...''' section. The Main Page gets about [http://hemlock.knams.wikimedia.org/~leon/stats/wikicharts/index.php?wiki=enwiki&ns=articles&limit=100&month=06%2F2007&mode=view 4,000,000 hits per day] and appearing on the [[Main Page]] may help bring publicity and assistance to the article. However, there is a five day from article creation window for '''Did you know...''' nominations. Before five days pass from the date the article was created and if you haven't already done so, please consider nominating the article to appear on the Main Page by posting a nomination at [[Template_talk:Did_you_know#Suggestions|Did you know suggestions.]] If you do nominate the article for DYK, please cross out the article name on the [[Template_talk:Did_you_know#.22Good.22_articles_proposed_by_bot|"Good" articles proposed by bot]] list. Also, don't forget to keep checking back at [[Template_talk:Did_you_know#Suggestions|Did you know suggestions]] for comments regarding your nomination. Again, great job on the article. -- ~~~~

    If you prompted the author of the article to nominate the article, please place a at the end of the entry. This does not preclude you from nominating the article; it is just a way to communicate the status of the DYK efforts regarding the article.
  5. In addition, for the articles that potentially could be posted on DYK, consider nominating those you find suitable for DYK. Write an interesting lead, nominate, cross out the entry here, and note here that you nominated it.
  6. Please consider providing revised search strategy and other feedback comments to AlexNewArtBot (talk · contribs · count · logs · page moves · block log). The comments here may be used as feedback to revise AlexNewArtBot.
  7. Expired entries should be archived at User:AlexNewArtBot/GoodSearchResult/archive.
