Bari Pali is a village and a municipality in Bihar. It is also the headquarters of Nawada district. Headquarters town of the subdivision of the nawada, lying on both sides of the river Tilaiya in 24º 53’ N and 85º 33’ E. The name is a corrupt-ion of Nau-abad or the new town.
History
[edit]Bari Pali is a part of the famous ancient district Nawada and Magadh division of south Bihar. The origin of the name Bari Pali Bari Pali was ruled by the nearly independent Rajas of Hisua, and after its acquisition it was the center of great disorder till 1845.

[edit]According to the 2011 census, Bari Pali has a population of 11786. Bari Pali has a sex ratio of 5 females for every 6 males and average literacy rate is 74%, higher than the district average of 63.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 67%. In Bari Pali, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age. Hindi, Magahi and Urdu are the main languages spoken in the area.

[edit]Bari Pali has been growing as a big hub for sports competition both on village , district and state level. Bari Pali is in most famous forHandball and kho-kho in the state. In city and village area, there is a stadium known as Green Park stadium for outdoor games like cricket, football etc.Apart from that, there are 1 outdoor and 1 Indoor stadiums also available in the village.
Transport
[edit]The village is well connected by all other parts of the state by roadways and railways. The very famous National Highway NH 31 which is part of the Asian Highway Network and AH42 runs through Nawada and connects it to major cities like Kolkata, Asansol, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dhanbad,Bihar Sharifand Patna.State Highway 8 runs through Nawada and connects it to other important parts of the district like Hisua, Gaya, Pakri Barawan and to the neighbouring district Jamui. The city is also connected by the Indian Railway B.G. line through the Gaya–Kiul_line of East Central Railway.It connects two major railway stations Gaya jn , Tilaiya jn and Kiul jn . Two express trains and several local trains run in this railway line via Tilaiya jn .For local transport, frequent Taxi facilities are provided by private vendors in and around the village.Rickshaws and Autos are major means of local transport within the village.

Tourist Place
[edit]Present time Handiya is the most remarkable place to visit for anyone. It is beautifully surrounded on the north side by Rajgir Mountain and on the south by river.Each year thousands of people come to visit this holy place. The Surya Narayana Mandir is also famous for betel nuts like Magahi Pan. Apart form these,famous tourist places like Kakolat_Falls, Bodhgaya, Pawapuri, Nalanda , Rajgir can be reached by road within 1–2 hours.
