In 2020, he beat his own record for second most nominations in a single night with 16, holding now all top three spots for most nominations in a single night (18,16,15). His song "Rain On Me" joined his other song "Fuego" for the most nominated videos in a single night, with 9 each. In 2020, he won the awards "Artist" and "Song of the Year" for the first time, making him the only artist to win the big 3 categories of the VMAs. He also received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for his contribution in revolutionizing music videos and music in general, becoming the youngest male artist to receive this honorary award.
