Ok first of all, there were no grammatical errors in my deleted paragraph. On the other hand, may I point out that "stylictically" was incorrect?

And second, there should be nothing wrong in quoted/wrote "feels like a real family". That was based on real interview with the actress herself, as translated from tv daily by the reference source. That wasn't writing blog entries, you don't write a blog like that. And it was also an encyclopedic material, as it informs readers as to why she chooses to join C-JeS and how she is viewing C-JeS and it's artists, the same purposes as to why there are also writings like "He reportedly chose C-Jes after working with Song Ji-hyo in movie New World." and "Baek has directly said in the interview that C-JeS was established solely because of JYJ." on the page.

Plus I realized that you also deleted "after a fierce competition" part of my first sentence, where it was actually also a true statement given by an industry insider taken and translated from a verifiable Korean news material. Feels free to ask the admin(s) about whether or not my contribution is allowed to. Until then, I see no reason why the paragraph must be deleted. Sorry to bothering you. I read some Copyright Policy on wikipedia that you directed. And first of all, I am sorry that I didn't check Copyright Policy before uploading. But I don't know exactly what they say.So they mean.. If I want to upload photo of living people , that photo must be a free license? I dont know what is the meaning of the free license. Limited permission from author that only is allowed to use that photo in wikipedia doesn't work in wikipedia? It is not allowed in wikipedia? Hi. I see you have just added a reference for Zhang Yimou's date of birth, the Farquhar reference. However, when I checked it I got "Error 404 - Not Found" as it is an obsolete URL, so I've searched the site and found it in the archive. Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:

I know that Super Junior sales more Albums in 2012. Albums sales more than Minialbums. But Album sales are not the only thing, digital sales also must be good for the most succesful band. Hi! Thanks for your reply! For the article Ölü Bölgeden Fısıltılar, I generally need help fleshing out the information with the sources given in the article as well as searching for anything else that might be out there. I also have a bit of a language barrier when it comes to the user that created the article. I think he might speak Turkish, but I'm not sure. Almost all of the coverage the film has received has been in Turkish, so that's the main reason behind my assuming this. The big thing is that he keeps re-adding information to the article that is already in the infobox or otherwise redundant to the article. I am not sure if the the template is added manually or by a bot, you may want to check the documentation. I'd recommend translating your work here, as English Wikipedia articles are read by many more than any others. @Piotrus: Yes, of course. I'm on old fox in wiki, in my 9th year now (though I am of course more comfortable in my home wiki environment). I don't really mind how many people read my articles :) If I did, I wouldn't write articles for huwiki at all, since the number of people interested in Korean stuff is not really high there. I write because I like learning about these things anyway. DramaWiki and blacklisting versus reliability

Hi. First, I want to compliment your rewrite of the English Wikipedia article "Korean Drama". It is for the first time a solid introduction to the topic.

While you were working on it you took the time to reply to something I'd written in the talk page, while I was writing the first version of the "history" section, when I suggested that Wikipedia blacklists the site DramaWiki (whose URL I can't give here as a result: wiki dot d-addicts dot com) because Wikipedians were "pissed off" that DramaWiki does a better job than Wikipedia on the things it does. (Non-random example: Wikipedia *still* doesn't have a page for Eyes of Dawn.)

Your reply essentially pointed out that DramaWiki isn't a reliable source because it's a wiki. Well, actually, I've been finding out, by watching K-dramas' onscreen credits, that DramaWiki really *isn't* reliable. (Neither it, nor English nor Korean Wikipedia, credit Bu Seong-cheol, director of Star's Lover and My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox, with co-directing about half of You're Beautiful, but according to the onscreen credits, he did. Also none of the three has a page about him. This is just the latest of about half a dozen such finds I've come across.)

However, what you're ignoring is that unreliable references get deleted; they don't get blacklisted. Blacklisting a site, so that it's impossible to link to it from a Wikipedia page, is only done for abuse of Wikipedia. So what abuse did DramaWiki perpetrate that led to its blacklisting?

As it happens, during the discussions that led me to stop editing Wikipedia articles, I found out. And here it is:

DramaWiki got too popular.

No, I'm serious. This was early in the site's history; it probably wasn't then the invaluable resource it has since become. So yeah, I was wrong as to *what* Wikipedians got "pissed off" *about*, but not about what happened. DramaWiki was blacklisted because there were hundreds of links to it, in some cases multiple links in a single article, and this was interpreted as "spamming" Wikipedia *even though the links were established as the independent work of many contributors*.

Of course, the fact that DramaWiki is a sub-site of a massive copyright infringer made it easier for the people involved to ignore the idiocy of their position.

See English Wikipedia's November 2008 blacklisting of DramaWiki.

Now, the inability to link to it, and give proper credit, hasn't prevented people from plagiarising DramaWiki; besides the previous Eyes of Dawn article see my survey of 24 dramas' articles which found DramaWiki plagiarised in one fourth. (This survey is way down from the point that link lands you at; it has its own heading, beginning "Plagiarism".) It would, of course, be easier to catch improper reliance on this unreliable source if such plagiarism could be acknowledged with references.

An attempt to overturn the blacklisting was rejected in 2011, no longer on the grounds of spam, but explicitly on the grounds that the parent site is a copyright infringer. Still, it was originally blacklisted because Wikipedians were jealous, just as I said.

I've been a Wikipedian for nine years and know this system in and out. I will keep on writing Wikipedia from reliable sources, and couldn't care less about Dramawiki being on a blacklist. Hi. Sorry to take so long to reply. I got mad when I first read your answer and didn't want to keep it up, but now see that I can be sorta dispassionate.

I'm not saying DramaWiki should be cited as a reliable source. I am saying that I found some evidence when I did my survey that people do try to cite sources instead of just openly plagiarising, and being unable to link to DramaWiki impedes that, which in turn makes the rampant plagiarism harder to spot. (I'm not talking about their data. I found in 24 Wikpedia articles six cases where Wikipedia was explicitly quoting DramaWiki's *text* synopses, and in every single one I found proof that DramaWiki was first. If 1/4 of Wikipedia's K-drama articles plagiarise DramaWiki, that's about 100 articles plagiarising a single site. Which Wikipedia explicitly blacklists on the grounds that *it* infringes copyrights!)

Separately, because numerous pages link to Hancinema, which also has its own Wikipedia article, but no pages can link to DramaWiki, which doesn't, Wikipedia is essentially taking sides between competing anglophone K-drama wikis. Tsk tsk.

As for reading rules, one reason I'm not editing Wikipedia any more is that I got fed up with reading rules whose worth nobody saw fit to explain to me. In the last weeks before I gave up I probably read around 100 Wikipedia pages about Wikipedia's rules. As I said at the time, this site has a pretty horrendous problem re newbies.

Oh, and Hangul. Um, I don't know how K-dramas are delivered in Hungary, but the forms in which I see them don't translate the senior crew credits usually shown near the beginning of each episode. What I said about Bu Seong-cheol comes from reading Hangul.

Finally, thanks for the pointer to the original author of "The Rise and Fall of the K-Drama Empire". Now to see if I can find the pieces With S2 doesn't offer.

@Mikepellerin: Did you check the licence on the Wasabcon website? No, you didn't. That site has been donating pictures to Wikipedia for a long time now and they also use the Korean CC licence. It has also been checked by Commons admins several times previously. Instead of just judging quickly, how about you actually make the effort to find out why a photo is licenced as such? Having been posted previously on an other website doesn't mean it is not free licence. We get a bunch of photos from Flickr and other repositories as well. Understand, I'm not fighting or arguing with you. I'm a Hottest! I would love to have updated versions of pics for 2PM, but it's not that easy. I once uploaded selca's (posted by the boys) and was told they were not original! I was told I didn't have permission because they were posted on twitter. I obtained private photos from JYPE, but those were deleted because the license was not clear, and they may be non-nuetral. I was also told that all of the photos need to be changed at the same time. Ie: If you change Jun K., you need to change the rest of 2PM.

Feeling your pain totally. I, too, kind of just want to stay in my corner and work on articles no one seems to care about (they're kpop, but they've been sitting dormant for years and read like, well, like articles written years ago). I am having a lot of trouble finding my comfort zone in this Wikipedia editing experience. Online expression is so, so hard, and the kpop articles were virtually unmonitored by outsiders for so long it's hard to do anything that feels like progress. Efforts to get things more in line with the rest of Wikipedia feel like sabotage and attacks to many editors, and it's all just really ugly. I think if it weren't for the fact that Wikipedia is the first stop for nearly everyone when obtaining info on a subject, I would abandon it. But having terrible information out there or blatant advertising...I just can't handle it. So I'll persevere but yeah...it's a constant emotional roller-coaster. Hi, if I write articles on fnc and ftisland in a neutral point of view, would it be accepted? Not accepted by you but rather in wikipedia's context.

I don't have multiple accounts by the way, I used to edit FTISLAND's career in 2014 which is like few months ago but stopped editing frequently. I merely helped re-edit another user's edit with sources.

In my opinion, this is a major happening as the company said something bad about hongki which fnc shouldnt. This is more or less a dispute from the fnc.

Well, if its not accepted by wikipedia then i shall do nothing and let the article remain as it should. By the way, its not whether you accept it or not but rather am i violating wikipedia uses.

A question about tables in K-pop articles

Hello, I have a question about the use of tables and information overload in k-pop articles, are they really necessary and allowed, like the ones in the following articles?

Now it's not a contest in itself, it's designed to motivate people to inspire others to improve content and build something which demonstrates the hard work going into the country which is visible. The focus is more on quality improvements but new articles are welcome too. Eventually a Turkish National Contest could be created to fuel it, like Wikipedia:Awaken the Dragon, in which contestants can choose to keep the Amazon vouchers themselves to buy their own books for more articles or put them into book fund to help editors further improve Turkish-related topics by giving them the books they want. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. I have a question, if you have time to look at some images recently uploaded for One Ok Rock and the band members pages, by the same new user (Jean Ackermann). They are uploads from Instagram. @Bonnielou2013: Hi Bonnie. Instagram is not a good place to get photos from. They are all copyrighted. They need permission from the photographer just like any usual photo. Since then, not selfi, korean people say called selca. This is known to all Koreans, and Koreans will be embarrassed to see this article. I don't really care who wrote the article, that's not a realiable source that you linked. Find a relable source that states the same. Blogs and stuff like that are not acceptable sources. You changed the source link that was a reliable source (an article in a peer-reviewed journal) to something nobody can confirm to be a reliable source. That's a community page, same as a blog or a forum, anyone can claim they are experts on a topic, that won't make them reliable sources just because they post photos themselves as ulzzangs. I suggest that you read Wikipedia's rules on reliable sources: WP:RS. It doesn't matter of "everyone in Korea knows it" if it is not recited in a reliable source. However, Korean social phenomenon is very well organized in Korean portal site. ulzza.com is the closest article and it's an English document, so I made a change. It is a professional ulzzang blog. Wikipedia is often cited as a source of blog-shaped articles. It is not wrong. And Korea's big popular boy band is H.O.T (1996), but at the time, I did not use ulzzang word. Wikipedia articles have a considerable sense of incongruity. If it is not a reliable source, is it ok to change and it to a Korean article source? [9] [10] It's about story of ulzzang star.(Daum cafe, nam sang-mi, etc) ok. So I will change it to a reliable source of Korea.

Ruler names of Joseon

Hi, will you continue the good work, or is it done with Gwul/Jeonggyeong? I guess that you are able to read Korean, so I'd like to know which are your sources. Are there any english ones that everyone would be able to read? I'm asking as editor of de-WP, where we are severely lacking in information on the Gija mythical dynasty. @Enyavar: yes I will continue, I wasn't at my computer this weekend. I don't have sources, I'm merely renaming the wrongly named articles someone else wrote. The transcription is bogus, so all of them need to be corrected. The sources are given in Korean. There are hardly any English language sources on this period, that would detail the kings. There is no such requirement that sources have to be in English. Some things are simply just not available in English. @Enyavar: it's sourced, it's just sourced in Korean. For example this page lists the Gija Joseon kings. It's an excerpt from an ancient document, and is published by the Korean Classical Translating Agency. The problem with the articles is not that they are unsourced, but that they are named in the wrong way, the creator of the articles named the kings according to their personal names (like, today's first name), and not according to the name by which they ruled. I'm using the original articles in Kowiki to transcribe the ruler name, but one of the Korena language sources also lists them by these. Teemeah ^{편지 (letter)} 19:02, 11 November 2018 (UTC)

Also, on that same page there is a list of (also mythical) monarchs of the Dangun dynastie, complete with chronology. @Enyavar: I have no idea where the Gojoseon kings list comes from, to be honest. My sources only mention a few kings whose name was known [11], and kowiki article on Gojoseon and Gija also say that the successors are largely unknown and the first known king after that is already Bu of Gojoseon (알려지지 않음 [not known]→ 부왕 [King Bu]) We can safely say that whoever wrote that list probably made it up... I would trim it down to the kings that can actually be sourced:

• 1. Dangun (BC 2333? – ?)
• ? Gija (BC 1122? – i. e. 1082?)
• ? Bu (BC ? – ?)
• ? Jun (BC ? – BC 194)

I'm utterly fascinated by en-WP now. There was once a huge argument that led to a clear separation of articles: The "real" list was kept clean of mythical kings; they were all listed in a separate "legendary list". Then, someone decided that legendary rulers are fiction and should not be mentioned at all. Which is why today, there are many redirects (Heuldal/Gareuk/etc.) of fictious rulers to a non-fiction list, where they are not mentioned at all, because they are fiction. Hilarious!

After a cursory glance, my new guess is that these names (Go-Joseon and Gija-Joseon) were all either made up in 1675 AD (Gyuwon Sahwa), or 1911/1975 AD (Hwandan Gogi). So while they are not true facts, they do have some history of their own and should at least be recorded somewhere as what they are (myth/fiction).

I think that the best way to go on would be: Restore the List of legendary monarchs of Korea to article status. Then, move the many redirects to there, and move the fictious lists also there. Mention in all the 41 stub articles that they are about a legendary/fictious person. Afterwards, keep only the four rulers in the "real" list like you described. Also maybe we should copy this discussion over to the list(s) that we are discussing, so that everyone learns about these concerns. I would like to invite @Oppashi: to this conversation, because he currently studies Koreanology at university, so I'd like to see someone who actually has access to academical point of views chip in on this. I'm not 100% familiar with the ancient period yet, and I'd need to read through more sources myself to be able to safely do this. The Gija Joseon kings appear to have sources available, but now I am shaken in my previous assumption that they are valid. I'd need to review the sources more thoroughly to determine if they list "legendary" kings or real kings. My history books on Korea do not mention names apart from that four above. 1. The bit about Live Aid and Jim Beach are true, its stated by Live Aid promoter Harvey Goldsmith in that BBC documentary. I specifically time-stamped the cited video to add context. 2. Your source for Queen's performance at Rio via the rockinrio.com site does not state that they had performed in Rio before; only that they had played in Brazil in the past. There are no Queen concerts in Rio prior to January 1985.
