Kaal Madhumas

[edit]

Hi you have just declined my article on the above subject stating its a blank document. However if you see the link : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation/Kaal_Madhumas_-_(film) (My Project Page), it does have an article included. I am not sure how to submit this properly. This is my first article and therefore apologies for the added problem. Abhirup.roy1983 (talk) 11:50, 27 December 2012 (UTC) Abhirup[reply]

Ah, that explains a thing or two. Normally AFC pages are developed on the talk page instead of being developed on the project page (which is somewhat counterintuitive now that i think about it). Since the review tag was placed on the talk page, and since that page contained a references section it looked as if that page was intended for review.
To be frank it doesn't matter where the content is placed - just place the review request template on the page that is intended for review. I see that you already did that though, and i see Alexrexpvt had now reviewed the project page itself. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 20:05, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Abhirup.roy1983, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. (The "Plot" section was the particular issue here. It's best to write these based on your own viewing of the movie, completely in your own words - not using what's on the movie's website.) --Demiurge1000 (talk) 18:43, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Fame Fashion and Creative Excellence.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Fame Fashion and Creative Excellence.png, which you've attributed to yourself. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mlpearc (open channel) 23:06, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Indroneel Mukherjee (Fashion Designer)

[edit]

Hello, Awesomeme111,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Indroneel Mukherjee (Fashion Designer) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Indroneel Mukherjee (Fashion Designer) .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Wgolf (talk) 20:21, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fame Fashion and Creative Excellence (FFACE), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Speedy deletion nomination of Fame Fashion and Creative Excellence

[edit]

Hello Awesomeme111,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Fame Fashion and Creative Excellence for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Swpbtalk 04:42, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You wrote "However should you consider that few aspects of the write up looks like promotion or advertisement, am happy to edit and rewrite those parts. You can edit as necessary or remove the aspects which violates the encyclopaedia criteria." It is not the task of other contributors to fix the article for you. You have access to the guidelines. If you are not sure how to write the article without departing from the guidelines, you can use Wikipedia:Articles for creation to get a second opinion. Information icon

Hello Awesomeme111. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Awesomeme111. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Awesomeme111|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Daiyusha (talk) 17:01, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Daiyusha: Thank you for your message. There has been no commercial agreement for this article. The brand is extremely popular and qualifies for a Wiki Article. All relevant sources from notable media was included. The article is a consumer product similar to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysol Please request you to undo the delete of the page and restore the same. If any part seems promotional, happy to amend.

Blocked

[edit]

Despite the massive number of warnings you have received for creating inappropriate articles which were promotional and/or violated copyright, you have once again created an inappropriate promotional article. This is disruptive and wasteful of other editors' time. As you seem to have no intent of stopping this practice, I have indefinitely blocked you from editing. If you believe that this block was made in error, please review the guide to appealing blocks. Seraphimblade Talk to me 18:16, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Awesomeme111 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

There has no constructive reason for this block. Articles which were contested was 5 years back and early days of my Wikipedia editorship. Nothing was contested in last 5 years apart from the latest article which was nominated for a speedy deletion on "PeeSafe" If a photo used in any of my article was contested for copyright issue, the same was responded to and proper justification provided ensuring all policies followed. I consider that the block is in fact not necessary to prevent damage or disruption as I respect and understand the Wikipedia policy and will ensure no articles are created as promotional or violate copyright in future.

Decline reason:

Until you are prepared to abide by Wikipedia's Terms of Use regarding paid editing and our local policies regarding promotion, I see no reason to unblock you. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:19, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. Request reason:

I confirm to abide by the copyright violations. However, till date there has been no copyright violations for any articles, but has been flagged up for media copyright issues. All such claims were substantiated and later approved. I further confirm I will be more careful and follow the policy carefully in future as confirmed on WP:COPYVIO.

Decline reason:

It is clear you are not looking to improve the project. Either that, or you don't have the competence to edit here. There are multiple articles you created that were removed due to copyright violations. I do not see a reason to unblock at this time. RickinBaltimore (talk) 11:40, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"However, till date there has been no copyright violations for any articles, but has been flagged up for media copyright issues" I can't tell if you are being serious here. You've had multiple articles deleted for copyright violations. There's literally discussion about these concerns right here on your talk page. You've had more than 150 edits deleted, generally (though admittedly not exclusively) for violating copyright. This appears to be a deliberate attempt to mislead us. Combined with your multiple violations of paid editing and given these issues have been happening for years, I strongly oppose any unblock here. But note, I previously declined an unblock request from this editor. --Yamla (talk) 11:07, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

In my last 3 appeals in last 3 days, I have asked to confirm that I abide by Wikipedia policies and abide by Copyright policies. I have since then confirmed that I will ensure there are no lapses in any further edits. All the contributions talked about now, are historic and minimum 4 years back during my early days as an editor. I feel its unfair to block me for something which was historic and rectified. The recent was regarding violation of G11, but am happy to rewrite the same. There are enough credible sources to confirm the article. Request you to look at this unblock request neutrally and consider for an opportunity.

Decline reason:

Wikipedia is not a free platform for you to post advertisements. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 17:03, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading information

[edit]

While I refrain from any argument and debate on this platform but you state “You've had multiple articles deleted for copyright violations. This appears to be a deliberate attempt to mislead us. Combined with your multiple violations of paid editing and given these issues have been happening for years, I strongly oppose any unblock here. But note, I previously declined an unblock request from this editor.” Would you possibly be kind enough to point out any article stated on my Talk Page which says been deleted for copyright violations? I have been honest with my view points and reasoning always and continue to be the same. You also state you you have declined and unblock request from me? This is the first time where a block has happened for me and you have never put in any remark or comments ever apart from this one on my Talk Page. This completely a miss leading information. awesomeme111 11:46, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

"Copyright" currently appears on your talk page 49 times (though this obviously does not represent 49 separate copyright violations). Kaal Madhumas - (film) was deleted for copyright infringement. Indroneel Mukherjee (Fashion Designer) was deleted for copyright infringement. Indroneel Mukherjee (Fashion Designer) had copyright infringement violations, though was deleted because the person was not notable. Looking at images you've uploaded (only here on en.wiki; you have a number of deleted images over on commons, too), we can see File:Kaal Madhumas Poster.jpg, File:FFACE Logo.png, File:Promo Usho.jpg, and File:Fame Fashion and Creative Excellence.png. Note that images are more complicated; images have to be deleted for copyright reasons if they are fair-use but unused. That's not always the case here, but may be the case with some of the uploads. --Yamla (talk) 11:54, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

So thats the point, there has been nothing in last 3-4 years. The ones stated by you above were initial days of Wikipedia editing and were all other AFC which was reviewed by some administrator before it goes LIVE. The images spoken about were all justified later and retained once initially flagged up for copyright. Once proper authentication provided, the same was accepted and is still retained under commons. Finally you stated, about your oppose on Block. When did that happen? awesomeme111 12:05, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Every single one of those images I referenced were deleted, none of them were kept. It is true that the articles deleted for copyright violation were deleted several years ago, as you say. However, the following claim is false: "there has been no copyright violations for any articles". I thought I had declined one of your unblock requests; I believe you are asking about that. I have indeed not declined any of your unblock requests. My mistake, sorry. --Yamla (talk) 12:40, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I do not mean to be persuasive but just wanted to be extremely clear myself before I make my another request for unblock. I am failing to understand all the articles you mentioned above, between 2013-2014 were speedily deleted for reasons A1, G11 and G4 with the exception of Indroneel Mukherjee where a bit of context of the article was driven from his personal website. The article was again never completed since it was confirmed to be not worthy.

In respect to the images, all the images were initially deleted for copyright claims but now restored and still shows available under the commoms library under my username. Again except Indroneel Mukherjee since his article was never completed, image PromoUsho.jpg was not required to be restored.

In last 5 years there has been many edits which was never highlighted and completely consider this action to be punitive for something where examples are drawn from articles created 5 years back. awesomeme111 13:41, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
