How to add it? I am a beginner. By the way the source is the Italian wikipedia, if you see the italian page of Guido Marchi, you read that he's born in Carmagnola on 21-9-1896 and dead in Turin on February 1969 Charlie Foxtrot66 (talk)

Note

[edit]

Hi there. Thank you for your contributions. However, please remember to insert reliable sources to back up your claims; they can be in any language as I did at Renato Vallanzasca. Also please watch your grammar and spelling, as I've noticed some of it is not exactly correct. Maybe you're not a native speaker of English, but please let me know if you have any questions on the structure of a sentence. Thanks. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 20:21, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Tony Iommi. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Spike Wilbury (talk) 02:45, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Roman Republic (19th century), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Venetia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ethnicelebs.com as a source

[edit]

Hi Charlie Foxtrot66. I'm in the process of removing ethnicelebs.com as a source from Wikipedia, because it's not reliable (See User_talk:XLinkBot/RevertList#EthniCelebs.com). I noticed that you've added it, and wanted to make sure you understood why it's being removed. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks. --Ronz (talk) 22:44, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Piero Operto has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Re: Transfermarkt

Since most of it's content is user-generated, Transfermarkt counts as a self-published source. Please do not cite it in articles. Sir Sputnik (talk) 21:50, 11 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for creating the new article Gang of the White Uno. I noticed it hasn't got any sources, but the Italian version of it does have plenty from Italian-language newspaper articles. It helps to assert its notability with a reliable source during creation, so that the article does not accidentally end up in the deletion process. It is prefectly okay to cite foreign-language sources, though it is always better if it can be backed by English language sources. - Mailer Diablo 17:20, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Charlie Foxtrot66. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Davide Longo (writer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. [edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Controlled flight into terrain shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. DonIago (talk) 17:24, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Doniago, I actually don't mean to make any war and I don't honestly understand why I should be banned... I am just trying to give a contribution and this Deeday keeps on removing it, maybe he is doing something wrong and not me, at least this is my opinion. I already asked him why it so important for him to stop me from posting that picture, which has much to do with the artycle, now may I ask the same question to you? Why my editing cannot stay? What's wrong with that picture? Is there some good reason to delete it, until the point of talking about editing war and ban? Sometimes I really don't understand why there must be this sort of discussions. And even more, who is this Deeday/UK and wich function has in Wikipedia? Wich autority does he have to decide that my picture cannot stay? Charlie Foxtrot66 (talk) 18:28, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please consider my notice more a concern that if you continued on the path you were on then an admin might have ultimately determined that you should be blocked for some period of time for edit-warring, and an invitation to initiate a proper discussion instead of persisting in the cycle of reverting each other's edits. I gave the other editor a similar warning and have also initiated a conversation at the article's Talk page so that a consensus can be reached.
Believe me, I know how aggravating it can be when someone keeps reverting your edits, but at some point it's best to step back and take the issue to a wider audience. I hope to see you participate in the conversation I started regarding your dispute so that we can find out how other editors feel about the inclusion of that additional picture. Cheers! Hi. I would like to know, just as curiousity, who decides what is needed or not on Wikipedia. I think that the meaning of 'contribution' is to add informations in order to enrich this project, not to work to cancel the contributions of other people if they don't contain any mistake. May I ask you why is it so important for you to delete people from my list? If I will give the list up, if I will cancel it just because you don't think is needed, will you feel satisfied for your contribution? Charlie Foxtrot66 (talk) 17:14, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Questions like that can be asked at WP:Teahouse. There are lots of guidelines but how categories work is tricky and it is a good idea to take advice on an issue like that. You might like to see WP:INDENT to learn about the use of colons in talk page messages. Johnuniq (talk) 03:50, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Problems

[edit]
  • Please check edits. Spinea is showing an error. Questions can be asked at WP:HELPDESK but if you don't know why an error has occurred, you should revert your edits. My guess is that it is due to 14,96 which is not a valid number in English. Also, please do not use dates like 1-1-2021. Instead, follow what was there before, namely 31 December 2010. What is Spinetense(i)?
  • If changing numbers, like at Spinea, a reference that verifies those numbers should be provided.
  • Milo is a disambiguation page and entries should comply with WP:MOSDAB. That means diff is wrong. In general, please do not overlink, and disambiguation pages have only one link per entry.

Johnuniq (talk) 03:51, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I corrected the mistakes. Spinetense(i) is the demonym(s) of the Spinea people: one of them is Spinetense, two are Spinetensi, both for men and women. This page hasn't been edited since 2010, at least I tried to do something instead of always thinking on other people mistakes. What about Milo? Charlie Foxtrot66 (talk) 11:56, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please click "diff" in "That means diff is wrong" in my first comment. There should only be one link in the entry. It's good that you are editing, but it's also good that someone takes the time to point out standard procedures. In case you missed it, see my message at 03:50, 19 May 2021 in the preceding section. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
