About for Disappearance of Jovelyn Galleno
Hello Golden👋
I just want to ask you something about the article page of Disappearance of Jovelyn Galleno to how can I solve the one you gave on the "ORPHAN" page, because I have already fixed the article sections there and I have improved it. And if you think something is missing from the article page please help me.
Thank You🤝 Wazzup Carl 12:18, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, Wazzup Carl. WP:ORPHAN means that no other Wikipedia article links to the article tagged as an orphan. This can be fixed by linking to the article in question in any other Wikipedia article. Those links help your article reach a greater audience. I see now that since my tagging, List of people who disappeared mysteriously: 1990–present has a link to Disappearance of Jovelyn Galleno, which means the tag can be removed and I've now done so. Cheers! — Golden call me maybe? 12:24, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
Thank you Golden, for removing WP:ORPHAN from the article page. Wazzup Carl 12:36, 29 August 2022 (UTC)

Azerbaycanli termini zaten hem milliyeti hemde etnik grupu ifade etmiyor mu ? Qajari (talk) 22:23, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Qajari: Hi. "Azerbaijani" does refer to both the ethnic group and the nationality in the Republic of Azerbaijan, however the Azerbaijanis article is about the Azerbaijani ethnic group as a whole, who live not only in the Republic but in Iran, Georgia, etc. Therefore, imposing the Republic's constitutional definition of the word onto the whole ethnic group isn't correct. This file displays a poor understanding of the non-free content criteria:
- The original resolution was much too high (2000 × 3000). I have reduced the resolution to the preview resolution (400 × 600); I expect further reduction will be necessary.
- For ‘minimal use’, it says:
The image of the statue will only be used in the infobox of the Dignity (statue) article.
But that is not what ‘minimal use’ means. It means that a minimal number of works, with a minimal portion of each work, is used. Sometimes, it is necessary to use the entire work, but the rationale must explain this.
There may be other problems; I am no expert on these criteria myself. Brianjd (talk) 13:25, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Brianjd: I've further decreased the resolution to 250x375 and corrected (?) the description of minimality. Thank you for drawing my attention to it. — Golden call me maybe? 13:44, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
Some help needed

- @TrangaBellam: Yes, I do and I'd be happy to verify the factoid for you. — Golden call me maybe? 18:42, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
- I want to know whether p. 2-16 of this book supports (emphases mine):
This is a weird claim, imo. We have most of the details about Dokak from the Maliknamah tradition; Ibn Hassul's epistle composed for Tughril does summarize a part of the Maliknamah description of Dokak but misattributes the episode to Seljuq.Details about Dokak's life mostly come from later written sources, composed particularly during the reign of his great-grandson, Seljuq sultan Tughril.
- Will be obliged for your help. TrangaBellam (talk) 09:46, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
- I, with my rudimentary skills in the language, zeroed in on the following line as the closest-possible source:
Nitekim daha Tuğrul Bey zamanından itibaren tarihî kaynaklar Dokak neslinin asaletini belirtmekte müttefiktirler.

- Tomorrow is fine for me! TrangaBellam (talk) 11:40, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
- @TrangaBellam: Not going to lie, this is an older version of Turkish that is quite different from modern Turkish, which made it harder to review. But, after reviewing pages 12 to 16 (there is no mention of Dokak before page 12), this is the only relevant quote I could find:
Aral golü civarındaki Oğuz devletinde vazifeli olduğunu gösteren kısa bilgi dışında mâlûmat sahibi olmadığımız Dokak, Türklerde kudretli hânedanlara bağlılık hâlet-i rûhiyesi ile birlikte adı geçen bölgedeki Türklerce üst tanınan kudretli bir baş-buğ olmasından da anlaşılacağı üzere, eskiden beri riyaset mevkiini elinde tutan bir aileye mensup idi. Nitekim daha Tuğrul Bey zamanından itibaren tarihî kaynaklar Dokak neslinin asaletini belirtmekte müttefiktirler. Tuğrul Bey’in inşâ divanı reisi İbn Íassūl, bugün kaybolmuş bulunan tarihî eserinde, Selçuklu ailesini efsânevî Türk hükümdarı Afrâsyâb (Alp Er Tunga)’a bağlamakta ve Taf ̋īl al-atrāk adlı eserinde de, âilenin şerefli bir nesebe sahip bulunduğunu tasrih etmektedir.
- which roughly translates to:
Dokak, whom we do not have any information about except for the brief information showing that he was in charge of the Oghuz state around the Aral lake, belonged to a family that had held the fiefdom for a long time, as it can be understood from the fact that he is a powerful head and well-known by the Turks in the mentioned region, together with the spirit of loyalty to the mighty dynasties. belonged to. As a matter of fact, from the time of Tuğrul Bey, historical sources are allied in stating the nobility of the Dokak generation. The head of the construction council of Tugrul Bey, Ibn Íassūl, in his historical work, which has been lost today, connects the Seljuk family to the legendary Turkish ruler Afrâsyab (Alp Er Tunga), and in his book Taf ̋īl al-atrāk, he states that the family had an honorable lineage.
- I must add that this book's citation style stinks. It's really disruptive. — Golden call me maybe? 17:12, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

Arbitration case Armenia-Azerbaijan 3 opened
Hello Golden,
You had recently been mentioned in a request for arbitration (without being a party to the case). The Arbitration Committee has accepted that request for arbitration and an arbitration case has been opened at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Armenia-Azerbaijan 3. Evidence that you wish the arbitrators to consider should be added to the evidence subpage, at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Armenia-Azerbaijan 3/Evidence. If you would like to add evidence to the case, please add your evidence by February 10, 2023, which is when the evidence phase closes. You can also contribute to the case workshop subpage, Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Armenia-Azerbaijan 3/Workshop. Armenia-Azerbaijan 3 update: You have been added as a party
Hello Golden,
You were recently added as a party to the Armenia-Azerbaijan 3 arbitration case. The evidence phase has been extended and will close at February 21, 2023. For the Arbitration Committee,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:18, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
- @ToBeFree: Is it possible to know (please direct me to the appropriate location to ask if you don't know) why I've been added as a party when there haven't been any complaints about my behaviour presented on the Evidences page? In addition, I've been under a topic ban from any conflicts involving Azerbaijan or Armenia for the past five months, so I'm not sure how appropriate a comment from me would even be. — Golden call me maybe? 08:02, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- You had been added as a party during the case by the drafting arbitrators, which does not necessarily imply any misconduct from your side. I think the topic ban itself, and whatever led to it, was reason enough; Guerillero has stated that they're looking for "Evidence of problems after Golden's warning on 1 August 2022" on the Evidence talk page. If I see correctly, this includes all behavior that led to the current topic ban. The topic ban is now mentioned at #Evidence_presented_by_Red-tailed_hawk.
- You may like to provide a statement about the situation. Participating in a case you've been added as a party to is "engaging in legitimate and necessary dispute resolution" and thus exempt from the ban. To let you be on the safe side, I have asked arbitrators and they share this view. You are free to add evidence about others' misbehavior, or to resolve misunderstandings about yours.
- Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 18:02, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

Armenia-Azerbaijan 3: Proposed decision mentioning you
Hi Golden, in the open Armenia-Azerbaijan 3 arbitration case, a remedy or finding of fact has been proposed which relates to you.
You are not directly affected by any proposed sanction; this is just for your information.
The proposed finding ends with the words: "Since their most recent sanctions, neither Grandmaster nor Golden have engaged in additional misconduct."
Please review this decision and draw the arbitrators' attention to any relevant material or statements. Comments may be brought to the attention of the committee on the proposed decision talk page. For a guide to the arbitration process, see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Guide to arbitration. For the Arbitration Committee, ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:58, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- A new proposed remedy, "Parties placed on probation (alt)", affects you to my understanding; you may like to review it. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 11:36, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
Armenia-Azerbaijan 3: Arbitration case closed
An arbitration case about the conduct of editors in the Armenia-Azerbaijan topic area has now closed. The final decision is viewable at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:
- Abrvagl (talk · contribs)
- is topic banned from pages about Armenia, Azerbaijan, and related ethnic conflicts, broadly construed. This ban may be appealed twelve months after the enactment of this remedy, and every twelve months thereafter.
- may make only 1 revert on any page in any given 24 hour period. This restriction may be appealed twelve months after the enactment of this remedy, and every twelve months thereafter.

- Golden (talk · contribs) and Grandmaster (talk · contribs) are placed on indefinite probation. If any party to this case is found to be edit warring within the area of dispute by an uninvolved administrator, the administrator should impose the following sanction:
[Editor name] is indefinitely topic banned from all pages about Armenia, Azerbaijan, and related ethnic conflicts, broadly construed.
Topic bans imposed via this remedy may only be appealed to the Arbitration Committee. For a topic ban imposed under this remedy, an editor may make their first appeal at any time; further appeals may be made every twelve months after an unsuccessful appeal. - When deciding on whether or not to issue an Arbitration Enforcement sanction, Administrators are encouraged to consider all behavior, including the seriousness of the violation and the possible recidivism of the editor in question. For instance, users who do not heed warnings or who engage in sustained, low-level misconduct should be sanctioned rather than re-warned. Where editor conduct frequently results in enforcement requests that are dismissed or closed with warnings, administrators are encouraged to impose robust restrictions on editors.
For the Arbitration Committee,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 18:08, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- Discuss this at: Wikipedia talk:Arbitration Committee/Noticeboard § Armenia-Azerbaijan 3: Arbitration case closed
- @ToBeFree: Can you explain what the probation means? Does it just mean that someone will be monitoring my edits? — Golden call me maybe? 18:30, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Golden, this isn't much about monitoring, although the publicity of an ArbCom announcement may attract attention.
- When there is an edit war, administrators sometimes notice this, perhaps after a notification on a noticeboard such as WP:AN3. Sometimes, they take action. For example, pages are protected or users are blocked to prevent further edit warring.
- The ArbCom "probation" means that if you are edit warring in the Armenia-Azerbaijan topic area and an administrator takes action, that action should immediately be a topic ban from the area. No further warnings or short blocks, just directly a topic ban.
- I hope this is a bit clearer than the original wording above, but please ask if questions remain.
- Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 18:47, 18 March 2023 (UTC)- @ToBeFree: Understood, thank you. — Golden call me maybe? 18:57, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
Qakh (city)
Sir, while rolling back my minor improvement in Qakh (city) ( or so I thought ! ) you referred to Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style. Can you be more specific ? You didn't like new size 300px ? or word File instead of word Image ? or clearleft command ? Here is typical recommended usage according to Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Images : Basic example (producing the image at right and it is using word File instead of word Image):
Regarding size of image policy stated : As a general rule, images should not be set to a larger fixed width than 220px (the initial base width), and if an exception to this general rule is warranted, the resulting image should usually be no more than 400px wide (300px for lead images) and 500px tall, for comfortable display on the smallest devices "in common use" (though this may still cause viewing difficulties on some unusual displays). I'm Wikipedia editor for 16 years 9 month and some days and will be interested to learn from you what exactly triggered your action. Sincerely. User:Abune (talk) 20:07, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Abune: Your edit left an entire line just for the image at the beginning of the section ([1]). If you want to enlarge the image to that size, it should be moved below the infobox and to the right. Otherwise, it disrupts the readability of the page. — Golden call me maybe? 20:13, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- Sir, If that's style you prefer ( it's not my preferred style !) I certainly can implement that change even so I do not see specific reference that recommend image moved below the infobox in Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Images (again please correct me if I'm wrong !!! MOS is HUGE document and we both can read it for entire week (today is only Monday ) !!! ). To be clear my motivation for edit was exactly that - to improve text readability and that's what command clearleft does ! Text started to flow uninterrupted and picture can utilize newly available space. If you agree with this change I'll declare consensus achieved and will facilitate these changes. User:Abune (talk) 20:29, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Abune: I vaguely recall something about image placement in the MOS, but it's too late here for me to look it up right now. Sorry for the unclear edit summary. Feel free to make changes. — Golden call me maybe? 20:34, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

Edit
hey dude
i was seeing emma myers instagram page and i found she has a sister called isabel
i come to add it in wiki but i think you changed it why?
and should you bring it back? MR Z03g (talk) 18:00, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- It looks like Golden said "not notable" in the edit summary [2]. This is because Wikipedia doesn't include the names of non-notable family members per WP:BLPNAME. And Instagram isn't considered a reliable source. Part of that is because in the case of a primary source, it doesn't indicate notability. Unless a secondary source reports on a fact, it isn't necessarily considered a notable fact. signed, Willondon (talk) 18:08, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- @MR Z03g: What Willondon said (thank you, Willondon). The sibling parameter in the infobox is reserved for notable siblings. Also, please avoid making edits like this. It is unclear if it was a test edit, but such edits are more appropriate for your sandbox. — Golden call me maybe? 18:23, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
Arran
When did Arran was the part of Islamic Republic of Iran? :) Smpad (talk) 10:15, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- Of course, this was not the case. Iranianica does not speak about it. The "historical Iranian region" can be interpreted in different ways: 1) As a land that has historically been an integral part of the states associated with Persia and 2) historically a land inhabited by Iranian peoples. Since there is no clarification and in the first case they could use the wording "historically Persian land", I conclude in favor of the second. Because this is factually so: before the capture by the Turks and subsequent Turkification, Antropatena was a predominantly Iranian (Iranian-speaking) region. Moreover, Iranica prioritizes the history of the Iranian peoples, and not specifically modern Iran. Your reversal of my edit is not justified. Smpad (talk) 10:39, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Smpad: Sure, it wasn't part of the Islamic Republic, but it was part of the Iranian state. The Iran article covers not only the Islamic Republic but also the entire history of the Iranian state. — Golden call me maybe? 12:11, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- So in this regard I propose the article Greater Iran :) Smpad (talk) 12:16, 30 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi there, thanks for your work on the drive. Just to point out, I believe that Uzunköprü Bridge was not a quick fail, as the nominator and I worked hard together on the review before we agreed it should be failed. Regards, Amitchell125 (talk) 14:24, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

- @37.26.50.24: I'm not sure why you are unable to edit the page, IP. However, regardless of the reason, you should not be editing articles related to Azerbaijan without becoming an extended confirmed user, as per a restriction in place since January 2023. — Golden call me maybe? 18:03, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oh I understand, I can't do it, I have to open a page. maybe you can do it for me, i would appreciate it if you check the sources. Personally, you don't want to open a page because I have no idea to waste time on wikipedia. 37.26.50.24 (talk) 21:14, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, I also have no restrictions. just typing this a screen comes up and tells me to type the letters there. I write but it asks for the same thing more than once, it's annoying. 37.26.50.24 (talk) 21:16, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

Review validation in GAN Backlog Drive
Even though I expect all reviews will be "reviewed" (validated etc.) by the end of the drive, I noticed some editors' reviews were consistently reviewed, while some were left untended. Since the points and those green ticks, although minor, add a bit of motivation for the process, I am concerned if I'm missing something here, as most of my reviews were untended. I can still keep track of my progress, but just wanted to check. Aintabli (talk) 00:07, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Aintabli: You're not doing anything wrong. I imagine the other two co-ordinators and I review whatever we come across without any specific preference. Personally, I usually don't prefer reviewing quickfails, which is why I haven't touched your reviews yet. However, I recognise that this may be unfair and I'll review them shortly. — Golden talk 07:10, 13 August 2023 (UTC)

By the authority vested in me by myself it gives me great pleasure to present you with this special, very exclusive award created just for we few, we happy few, this band of brothers, who have shed sweat, tears and probably blood, in order to be able to proudly claim "I too have taken an article to Featured status". - Thank you, Gog the Mild. This first FA was quite a journey and I'm glad I experienced it. It reminds me of the first time I attempted to nominate an article for FA years ago, when I lacked the proper knowledge of how the process worked and it was archived (twice!) Everyone who reviewed this article at Peer Review and FAC have just as much share in its success as I do, and I appreciate all of them. — Golden talk 10:56, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

I was wondering if you could create a template for it and ad it to Khinalug article? Seems like a nice addition. I would do it myself but I'm not experienced with this stuff.
