I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Tennis Round (Company). Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Sir, I was using my account about 12 hours ago. My wireless internet router dosen't have a password on it. Someone, I don't know who, may be someone from neighbours might be using the same connection. All of a sudden my account was blocked. The reason given to me was that my IP is being used by two accounts. I told Mr William in the chatroom the whole story. He went away without even listening to my side of story. Sir, I had created my Wiki account in 2009. My question to the person who blocked my account is *WHY* would I be using a second account? I have been doing edits using my own account. I have even placed articles in review process and those were accepted. I know I started using it in 2011, but I had created it back in 2009. You can check the statistics to confirm this fact. In know I couldn't understand how to use Wikipedia earlier and a helper in the chat room *Chzz* helped me. My account is blocked and I cannot work here any more. Please I would need your help Sir. I don't know why you would use a second account. There could be several reasons to do so: Maybe you didn't want to be associated with certain topics, which can actually be an appropriate use of an alternate account; Maybe you knew that the new article was rather spammy and didn't want it associated with your account; Maybe you created the account at work when you didn't have access to your original account; Maybe it was intended as a role account and you didn't know that it was against Wikipedia policy.
I do think it is extremely unlikely that two accounts edit Wikipedia from the same IP at more or less the same time, and then both show up one after the other on IRC to ask for an unblock.
But in the end it doesn't matter too much to me. I want to believe there is little chance of this problem recurring, there was no lasting damage, and like you said this account has made many constructive edits. Whatever is true, I'm going to unblock this account since I hope it improves Wikipedia.
I ask several things of you though:

  1. If your WiFi really is unprotected, you should change that immediately. This mustn't happen again.
  2. Stick with one account. If you ever think it necessary to use a second, study WP:SOCK, and discuss it with someone first.
  3. If you share your Internet connection with others and you know that they edit Wikipedia, please read and follow WP:SHARE.

inappropriate tags[edit]

Hi.

Can you please consider you rationale for articles for speedy deletion thoroughly please before adding such tags? You also added two other tags, one on notability (which i'll ignore since it the speedy was because of notability) and one about sources. I named four sources in the article; Mind, Nature, Who's Who and the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Can you please explain how 4 independent sources, does not demonstrate coverage? Can you please explain how a fellow of the British Academy is not notable according to WP:PROF? I suggest you remove the speedy tag from Dawes Hicks before the admin does. Please think. Just please think before acting, because it's frustrating when you're trying to work if you keep getting interrupted by users (who may have the best intentions in the world) adding deletion tags to articles without considering the scope or the sources presented therein. Russian Rivers[edit]

Hi! What are u talking about absence of sources?? all of my articles have a reference to Water Register of Russian Federation where presence all basic information about length, mouth and basin of rivers. And it seem that there are no any better sources on this topic. How many references u need for 2-3 statements? I suppose that one source is quite enough.

Reviewing submissions[edit]

It's great that you are doing some reviewing, but you need to add a D (decline) parameter to the submission code, rather than putting in an extra submission code line. At the moment, the articles you are reviewing are remaining in the Pending AfC submissions list for another editor to have to look at; and also it looks like the creator has re-submitted without doing any further work. (Note that the syntax when reviewing a DRAFT article is slightly different, so read those instructions carefully when you next review one of those.) Yes, Jonathan Avigdori has sources - but imdb.com is not considered a reliable source, even if you've seen it used in other articles. (It's perfectly fine in the External links section, for example for a movie, but that's different from an inline citation.
I'm not disagreeing that this guy is notable, but rather that you could do a much better job of proving it if you were to cite better sources. And cite them properly (see WP:CITE, not just with a naked url as a footnote.
I hope the above doesn't sound too negative - Wikipedia has a lot of rules, and you're doing great work here in creating articles and (I haven't looked, but I assume) other editing. Just keep learning. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 02:18, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I fixed one citation in the article, to show you how this is done. I was going to provide you with some urls for additional sources, but when I searched Google News (archives), there really wasn't anything but the Variety article. So I'm beginning to think that you're ahead of the curve here in terms of creating an article about someone who may well be notable in a few years, but isn't now. [That's one big difference between Wikipedia and Wikia, for example.]
There is a better option that deleting this article (the direction this discussion seems to be headed in, though I'm not going to get directly involved in that: you could userfy it (move to to your user space). -- John Broughton (♫♫) 13:59, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if "can" means "will this get the page deleted?" or "is it following Wikipedia rules if I do this?". If it's the first, then yes, the db-author template should suffice, though you might want to help the reviewing admin by pointing out (in your edit summary) that all the edits since your creation on Feb 4 have shrunk the article). That's because db-author can't (properly) be used if there are substantial additions from anyone other than the original author.
If you're asking if the db-author template is the right thing to do, according to the rules, then the answer is that you can do pretty much anything you want - one of the powerful features of a wiki is that it's essentially impossible for a normal editor to do anything irreversible. Even "deletion" by an admin really doesn't delete a page - it just makes the page invisible to everyone except admins. In this case, here are some factors to consider:
  • If an admin deletes a page (at your request, in this case), all your edits of that page are no longer visible in the list of your user contributions (edits).
  • If you decide you want to recreate the page (let's say that Jonathan becomes famous), as long as you have an offline copy, you're good to go. (If you don't have an offline copy, you need to find an admin to undelete the page, perhaps moving it to user space; that's not a big deal.)
  • If you move the page to your user space, and Jonathan does become famous, and you're unaware of that (or you've left Wikipedia), it's possible that some other Wikipedia editor will find the page and use it as the basis for the article about what would then be a clearly notable person.
  • If the article is deleted, it isn't cluttering up you user space (on the other hand, since user space is essentially infinite, the concept of "clutter" is a bit of a non-starter; "disorganized" is more typically the problem.

Inappropriate speedy delete of Flashspun fabric[edit]

Thanks for notifying me. There were no references present to prove that the article is in fact written by the author. That is why I tagged it for speedy deletion. As per WP:GOODREFS a citation to a verification must be accurate and it must comprise of independent third party sources, but this article does not have even a single one. All that I could find was that the name of the novel was mentioned in the authors page on Wikipedia Authors page but I thought that another Wikipedia article cannot be used as a primary point of reference. But as you are an admin, I totally respect your declining of the speedy deletion. I'll try not to add any speedy deletion tags in the future.

Well, nominate all yo like, as long as it's correct. ;) In this case, the article simply wasn't promotional, so G11 didn't apply, and it was clear that the subject was a novel by a notable author, so A1 doesn't apply either. Take the advice or leave it; there is no policy prohibition against paid editing, and our COI guidelines are just that - guidelines. I am simply concerned that you are straying into some ethically gray areas, and I think you're generally a good editor. So far as I can tell, the best source for Jinnah images is the India Office records at the British Library, see here. In my opinion, nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 33 are provably taken by agents of the British Government and would have had their Crown copyright expire by now.--Wehwalt (talk) 06:02, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The first link doesn't seem to work. There are no pictures which are being displayed. Have you checked commons? On commons their is a complete category (28 pictures). I think that some of them may be useful as they have been licensed under the Indian domain, but I am unaware of the criteria for pictures which can pass the image check. Here is the category. We can ask any commons admin to do the image check and use the ones which pass the criteria. What do you suggest? We can also put one more picture of Jinnah's tomb. I saw somewhere on Wikipedia that flickr images can also be used. Don't remember the exact policy. I searched on Flickr, here are some useful images.

Best to do nothing more to the article, other than minor tweaks until it passes. I am currently traveling; I hope once I get home to see if I can do more to prove these images are published pre-1946. I've received no word back from the WP:GLAM people at the British Library about the images of Jinnah in the India Office records. Oh, great. I must have missed it. If you look at this form and put "Jinnah" in the "Portrait" field, in my opinion, numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 33 should be PD without question due to the expiration of Crown Copyright after 50 years. I think #4 is the Jinnah/Nehru image we already have but it would be nice to have it confirmed. If you can go, scan everything you can. I suspect some of the others are the ones we had to delete. Luckily this library is quite near from where I live. If this is their official website. So I just have to go there, ask them for all the images they have of Jinnah, and scan them. Later upload them to commons under my own name or under someone else work. Actually I'm not that familiar with commons, that is why I'm asking.

Well, what I suggest you do is also scan the documentary information on the images as well, whatever the BL has on who took it, what his job was, when it was taken, that sort of thing. I went to the British library today. Though the images department was closed (opens from Monday to Friday), they told me that I can order the images online if I want to. This is ordering form for it. These are all the things that one needs to know. They told me that if I order them, it would take a minimum of 25 days for the department to send me those pictures.
