In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, review the recent Wiki-Conference New York, plan for the next stages of projects like Wikipedia Takes Manhattan and Wikipedia at the Library, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the May meeting's minutes).
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and generally enjoy ourselves and kick back.
You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

Please renew our school block
Hello, by our own request, you placed a school block on our ISP 173.10.39.153 a while back. It has since expired. It has worked very well for us, so could you please renew it? --173.10.39.153 (talk) 13:45, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
This user was (legitimately) blocked as part of a sock puppet case by you. He has contacted via email and wishes to contribute legitimately. I believe the wrong doing wasn't the result of malice, but rather ignorance of how things should work. He has a COI on John Lakian (the article that got him in trouble), but also possibly legitimate BLP concerns. I was thinking about unblocking on the condition he not edit the article, but instead only its talk page. (He doesn't have access to any of the other sock account either.) If unblocked, I would of course keep a very close eye on him. However, I don't really know what is the correct way to handle the situation, so I am asking for your advice.
Thanks, ThaddeusB (talk) 02:17, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I missed this section somehow. If you think he should be unblocked, go ahead. J.delanoygabsadds 20:07, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Administration
Hi J, yesterday Impala2009 asked me if I wanted to become an administrator, I told Impala that I didn't as of yet due to my lack of experience here but may request the tools in the future. After looking over various RfA's it seems that some tend to oppose nominations by users who are primarily active in a certain area, most notably the anti-vandalism area of Wikipedia maintenance and I was wondering if there was any chance of me becoming a Sysop in the future if I wasn't a huge content builder, although I'm not a huge content builder I have been active in article's that require general maintenance or cleanups as I feel that that's something I can help with as I consider myself to have a fairly good knowledge of Wikitext. But seeing as how the bulk of my edits were anti-vandalism I was wondering if I had any chance at all or if I would just be wasting my time handing in an application. Being one of the most experienced editors I know I'd be interested in your opinion on the subject. Thanks. Jeffrey Mall (talk • contribs) - 01:43, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Simply put, people want to see substantial article contribs, and even though fighting vandalism is much more relevant to adminship in my own opinion, to be honest, I don't think you will pass. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. J.delanoygabsadds 01:56, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Firstly thank you for expressing your opinion, although your first nomination was unsuccessful your next one 4 months later, passed with flying colors, with editors still expressing their concern with your lack of work outside Huggle.
- "Unilateral anti-vandalism work with Huggle. Per Rudget below. Weak mainspace work to boot."
- "Good guy, but doesn't have a whole lot going when you take away the huggling."
- But taking this into consideration you still passed. Do you think this was because you had gained more trust in general from the community in the previous 4 months or because of your experience on Wikipedia/understanding of Wiki policies? Jeffrey Mall (talk • contribs) - 02:22, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for putting Adolf Hitler's page under protection. It has been crazy lately with all the IP vandalism on there-day after day. Reuqest for help
Hi. I notice that you're in Category:Wikipedia OTRS volunteers, so I was wondering of you could help me out in something. There's been a dispute on the page Nigel McGuinness for about three years over the inclusion of this indiviual's real name. I was looking through the talk page archives, and I noticed one of the main arguments for not including his real name was due to the lack of a reliable source for the name, as well as an OTRS request (I've been told it's ticket number 2006092210008209). A reliable source confirming his real name has since been found, but I was wondering if you could clarify the wording of the OTRS request for me, i.e. was it simply a request or was there was a threat of legal action? After noticing the article was fully protected due to edit warring over the inclusion of his real name on a few occasions, I'm a little hesitant to jump into readding his birth name without clarification. Unfortunately User:FCYTravis, the original ticket handler and also the admin who fully protected the page over this issue, has been inactive since July 2008, so I can't ask him for clarification. I'd really appreciate some help/guidance on this. Thanks, ♥Nici♥Vampire♥Heart♥ 23:24, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- Basically, he was concerned about the privacy ramifications that would result if his real name was widely known. As far as I could tell from the letter, he tries to keep his "real life", so to speak, as far separated from his "Nigel McGuinness" persona as he can. J.delanoygabsadds 17:08, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- Would that preclude me from adding his real name now that it has been revealed in another source? ♥Nici♥Vampire♥Heart♥ 17:17, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- After talking to another person about this, I'd say probably leave it out. Not including his real name doesn't do a tremendous amount of damage to anyone, since if people really care, presumably they can find the the source you are speaking of. But including it in the article could do a good deal of damage to the subject of the article, and I don't think it's worth it. As a disclaimer, that is just my own opinion, and should not be taken as "ZOMG YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT I SAY". J.delanoygabsadds 17:28, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm, yes. I see your point, and you're right, the source isn't hard to find. I'll be honest, I'm a little out of my depth with this, so I'll err on the side of caution and leave it out. Thanks so much for the help. ♥Nici♥Vampire♥Heart♥ 17:53, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Auburn Lacrosse
j. delanoy,
I am trying to make a wikipedia page about the Auburn,AL Men's Lacrosse Team. Lacrosse is not very well known around Alabama and i am trying to raise awareness of how it came to be, where to find info on it, as well as links to find out more information on Auburn Lacrosse. Lacrosse is a growing sport and has been so for some time. I would like to try and add to those growing numbers because I know that many other people are dying to play but just do not know where to start. Lacrosse is a more exposed sport in the north, but i would like it to continue to grow in the south and i believe a wikipedia page would help.

Recent checks
Regarding your comments on WP:Sockpuppet_investigations/Biaswarrior, I'm not sure why this was renamed from WP:Sockpuppet_investigations/Iadmitmybiaswhycantyou?. Like you, I don't see any similarities between Iadmitmy and most of the other named suspects, including Biaswarrior. I suggest, to alleviate further confusion, the SPI page should be returned to its original investigation page.
I had considered adding to the Iadmitmy page, but my edits would not fit under its new heading about Biaswarrior. My suspected sockpuppet list would have looked something like:
Iadmitmybiaswhycantyou? (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
Fight the bias (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
TheTerminator101 (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
66.184.134.26 (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
Jmcnamera (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
Jm131284 (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki)
My reasoning for the above list: they all have edit warred with me, mostly on the Susan Roesgen article, and most of them have begun their editing careers by reverting one of my edits. If the above are not the same editor, then they are doing a darn good job of tag-team reverting and meatpuppetry: Iadmitmy's 2nd edit starts with "I agree with 66.184.134.26...". 66.184.x.x's 2nd edit expresses agreement with Jm131284. You've already determined that Iadmitmy will use sockpuppets specifically to revert my edits (see TheTerminator101), so I will be taking a closer look at some other editor names. I just wish Iadmitmy still had an open SPI page I could use, without all the suspects that really have no editing similarity. Xenophrenic (talk) 22:17, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
- Jmcnamera could be related to Terminator et al, but I'm not sure. I think you should open another SPI request and/or ask a more experienced checkuser to look at this. J.delanoygabsadds 23:00, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Padula web site
Hi mr. delanoy. First of all excuse me for my bad English. I contact you, as I noticed that last night you removed all links I have included. I invite you to visit the site www.padula.info. You will realize that the links are all contextual, I was certainly not spam.
Furthermore, all content is released under the Creative Commons license, as the project is on "Padula on Wikipedia", (here link: http://www.padula.info/index.php/padula-su-wikipedia.html) which aims to update and improve the content of the encyclopedia.
My contribution is for now limited to the Italian pages, can see in history that most of the content was added by me. I do not think it is spam for links that might be useful in the absence of extensive Wikipedia pages about it. Thank you for your kind attention, I hope to expose myself the reasons for its actions. Ted Kennedy Edit
Assuming I'm posting this in the right place, why are edits to Ted Kennedy's page being deleted and why am I being warned? At first I was told any addition would need to be cited without explaining HOW to make a citation. After figuring it out and including a link which substantiates the addition, the edit was removed and I was warned again. Another questions is how would you like me to source a friend seeing Ted Kennedy at an anonymous 12 step meeting where both attended and Kennedy admitted to being an alcoholic? I'm happy to abide by any rules, provided I know how to do it. Finally, if you'd like to make the addition yourself, I have no objection. I was simply trying to correct an oversight in an article as I was astonished to find no mention of the senator's alcoholism anywhere. You're help would be appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.58.152.67 (talk) 05:21, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- Please ask your friend to explain "What's said here stays here" to you. — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 05:31, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
That applies to being a member of an anonymous organization (hence the term "12 Step group" was used rather than Alcoholics Anonymous) and protecting the privacy of what's been shared there. It does not protect against an admission of being being an alcoholic. The man was a self admitted alcoholic with a long history of heavy drinking and yet nowhere in the article is his alcoholism mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sirvice626 (talk • contribs) 05:41, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
You (Sirvice626) didn't read the article very well:
- In February 1990, Michael Kelly published his long, thorough profile "Ted Kennedy on the Rocks" in GQ magazine.[125] It captured Kennedy as "an aging Irish boyo clutching a bottle and diddling a blonde," portrayed him as a Regency rake, and brought his behavior to the forefront of public attention.
- Time magazine said Kennedy was being perceived as a "Palm Beach boozer, lout and tabloid grotesque" while Newsweek said Kennedy was "the living symbol of the family flaws."[130][109][112]
- His weight fluctuated wildly, he drank heavily at times – although not when it would interfere with his Senate duties – and his cheeks became blotchy.[109][110] Kennedy later acknowledged, "I went through a lot of difficult times over a period in my life where [drinking] may have been somewhat of a factor or force."[109]
Finally, Kennedy is not a "self admitted alcoholic"; he acknowledged sometimes drinking too much but always denied alcoholism, including in his memoir published after his death. Wasted Time R (talk) 10:51, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Evidently, he said something different at meetings. And while there are references to his drinking, that's a far cry from alcoholic. If alcoholism can be said of Joe McCarthy, why can't it be said of Ted Kennedy? Sirvice626 (talk) 23:09, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- What your friend claims to have seen at a meeting fails the Wikipedia WP:V guideline, and can't be used here. Only things that have been written by reliable sources per the WP:RS guideline can be used. None of the mainstream biographies of Kennedy that I'm aware of have pronounced him a flat-out alcoholic. They usually conclude he falls just short of that, for example in this Time magazine piece. Wasted Time R (talk) 23:30, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
A witnessed personal admission doesn't pass muster. All I can say is...Wow! Sirvice626 (talk) 06:42, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

A favor to ask
Hey J.delanoy. An article that is under away, Chick magnet, would really benefit with a picture to give a visual demonstration of what a "chick magnet" actually is. I noticed the picture of you with Jimbo on your user page and thought you would be a good person to make a request to because all the ladies must be screaming for your attention. Would you be willing to pose with a small group of women and then upload the picture to use it in the article? - Wikipedia is infectious. Yesterday, I wrote a little bit, today much more. There is some psychiatric thrill with typing then seeing your typing on the screen. I can see how stupid people who have little to write would also get that thrill. Since those people don't know what to write, they may add silly stuff like "seig heil" or "elvis is alive". Navigation popups
Hi J.delanoy. Can you tell me how to revert vandalism using navigation popups? I tried it once, but it didn't work. For somehow, I may have pressed the wrong link... Chevy Impala 2009 (Sign me!) 13:24, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- Go to the page history, and hover a link to a diff. (the "(prev)" link). Select "actions" in the menu, and then click "revert" to revert to the revision you are hovering. If you hover the first diff, it will act exactly the same as normal rollback. But I usually use Twinkle's "Restore this version" function available if you are actually viewing a diff, if I need to revert several people. J.delanoygabsadds 15:01, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
OTRS stuff
Feh. I'm so hopeless with stuff. By which I mean stuff that seems technological, like programming remote controls or...programming things like remote controls. I've got two tickets that are giving me conniptions, because I cannot get them into the general queue and unlocked. One of them seems to have locked automatically while I was trying to change its queue. The other one, I claimed on the presumption that it was a copyright issue, but it turned out to be something else altogether. I have to be the owner to unlock them. But when I try to assign them to the OTRS admin, it locks them again. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? These are [2] and [3] (which I've only just discovered is still locked), and I'm very discouraged. :( Help, please? --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:35, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm. I don't know. I usually only answer tickets, and nuke spam. I asked on IRC, but the person had to go. I'd say ask on http://otrs-wiki.wikimedia.org/wiki/Caf%C3%A9. J.delanoygabsadds 14:57, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. When you don't want a ticket that you've locked, simply click "unlock". Do not re-assign it to root because the ticket will then become locked to it. Don't worry about your name being the "owner" - as long as the ticket is unlocked then somebody else will be able to handle it. I've fixed these two. Hope this helps. - Rjd0060 (talk) 15:24, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

- You could try webchat.freenode.net. But if you have a real IRC client, irc.freenode.net is what you want. There is #wikimedia-otrs (a public channel) as well as #wikimedia-otrs-en (a private channel that only info-en respondents have access to, which is used to discuss ticket details, etc.). List of Cowboy Bebop Characters needs reference
Hi there. I see you reverted an edit someone had made to the Spike Spiegel section (I don't blame you for that after reading the obscene rant that person put in there when he edited it). You really should put a reference in there explaining how the syndicate was "yakuza inspired." I looked up "yakuza" and didn't see much of anything about the yakuza that related to what we know of the Cowboy Bebop's world's syndicates. A reference would keep people from just removing it. Thanks much! --MrsSpooky 13:41, 14 September 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by MrsSpooky (talk • contribs)

Hi J,
Is Sarandioti going to be sanctioned for his sockpuppetry? So far he has not been sanctioned at all. I cannot believe he is going to be allowed to get away with this. And now someone is proposing to unblock the Alarichus sockpuppet account as well! This is ridiculous, he should not be allowed get away with such behavior. Otherwise, what is to prevent everyone else from socking in this manner to get around their blocks and revert restrictions? If he is to be unblocked, at the very least he should be indef-topic banned from Balkans related articles. What do you think? --Athenean (talk) 21:58, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Total Navigator has obtained cult status in South Africa, especially because a lot of individuals do in our country do not have GPS devices. We also believe that Total Navigator will be an important tool for visitors to South Africa for the FIFA World Cup next year.

Vandalism
Recently you deleted this article due to it being made up of, well, complete and total vandalism. I know because I'm the one who started the article.
Before you punish me for anything, I'd like to add that this person has been vandalising Wikipedia for quite a while. If you check this contribution page [5], you'll see for yourself. This "editor" has basically done nothing but vandalise, vandalise, vandalise. I know I'm sounding like a total wanker here, complaining about everything, but this is Wikipedia. Vandalism is not tolerated. As you said. Although I'm not in much of a position to say that, am I? Then again, I've only vandalised once, and it was in a state of complete and total anger over being called a cunt and a spastic (literally) over speculation on a talk page (the talk page being the one for Limp Bizkit.
You're very anti-vandal, and I was wondering if you could ban this user. And I don't mean temporarily.

Your recent block of User:196.12.10.5
Hi J.delanoy, you blocked this IP tonight. I understand the reason for your block but would like you to reconsider the part about "account creation blocked". Polytechnic of Namibia has only a few IP addresses over which everything is NATted, this IP resembles the entire student network in the main laboratory building. We have recently encouraged a number of first-year IT students to become active on WP to improve coverage of Namibia. Ever since (3 weeks ago) we have run into the 6-accounts-per-IP-per-day problem. Unfortunately, the IPs involved have collected a few warnings on vandalism but many new accounts have made edits that are constructive, or that are in the sandbox.
Could the account creation be allowed for this IP, even while editing is prohibited? And would you consider allowing this? Thanks, Pgallert (talk) 06:50, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- As I understand it, accounts aren't affected by IP blocks (except rangeblocks or autoblocks), so it would be a minor inconvenience to vandals to take the 5 seconds to create an account to get around the block. Individual users can request an account via email, I believe- I'm looking that up now. --King Öomie 13:23, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, yes. Please follow this link - {{schoolblock}}. --King Öomie 13:28, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Sure, but this particular block specifies "account creation blocked". Am I misunderstanding something here? To me it means users cannot create accounts from this IP address. --Pgallert (talk) 14:09, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- That doesn't affect your ability to request an account via email. --King Öomie 14:25, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Since User:Pgallert has access to the account creation tool, at WP:ACC, I'm not sure why there would be any need to allow account creation from the IP address. See this discussion. See also Wikipedia:School and university projects if you haven't done so. If your connection is unreliable, someone else on the account creation team may be able to assist you. EdJohnston (talk) 15:09, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- So the "request account" still works? Then this is fine with me. Still, 6 createable accounts per day are 6 records less for the ACC people. I do have access to this tool but the regulars at ACC are much faster than me - I doubt I'll be of much help there. --Pgallert (talk) 07:01, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

This article is short, only two pages printed (prose only, not references). If you accept my invitation, it shouldn't take up too much of your time. // Gbern3 (talk) 19:44, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Please update your status with WP:VG
Dear WikiProject Video games member,
You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.
The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.
All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:
- Editing video game-related pages in the Article namespace
- Participating in video game-related discussions in the Project namespace (WT:VG, WP:AfD, WP:GAN, etc.)
Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.
Hey
Yea well I reverted it back before anyone noticed... isnt that enough? LexingtonWells (talk) 04:49, 24 September 2009 (UTC) Won't happen again. =) LexingtonWells (talk) 04:49, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
EBSCO Publishing
Hi, Can you tell me why my revisions to the EBSCO Publishing article keep getting reverted back to the 2007 original version? I am simply trying to update our company's information and the 2007 information is outdated. Thanks for you help. KarenaD (talk) 16:15, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not a free advertising service. Articles must be neutral. Your version of the article was an advertisment. J.delanoygabsadds 16:17, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Could we at least change the information that is not correct? The screen shot is not our page and the external link is not our website. Would you allow me to make my edits and then you can omit anything you think is an advertisement?
- I've worked on a number of company articles, so I went through and removed most of the unsourced information on this one. I also replaced the out-of-date screen shot with a company infobox that (according to Google at least) includes the company's current web site. There may be other truthful information that can be included, but if it isn't tied to peer-reviewed sources, any information added is likely to be deleted.--otherlleft 13:06, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
I also put a link to our free flu portal but they were removed from all the flu related Wikipedia pages. Our site is on the first or second Google page for searches such as flu, influenza, H1N1, flu information, influenza information, H1N1 information, evidence-based information, flu which seems to indicate that the site is of use. Is there a format that I did not follow?
- There are a couple of reasons why your links may have been reverted. Without looking at the actual pages you edited, I think it was strict interpretation of Wikipedia's link policy that got them removed. By adding them to "all flu-related pages" you probably made it appear that you were more interested in promoting the company's site than in providing access to free information. That's why Wikipedia has a strict conflict of interest policy to prevent that sort of impression. As a self-identified employee of the company, adding links to its site or information to its entry will invite the closest of scrutiny.
- In addition that, an editor could reasonably judge the link inappropriate because there isn't an expectation that the company will maintain the free database, which is another reason for removal; moreover, the longer the list of external links the more strictly the policy should be interpreted to keep the list succinct and relevant to the particular article.--otherlleft 16:57, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
HugesNet IPs
Hey, noticed you just blocked 69.19.14.39 (talk • contribs • info • WHOIS), I was about to block them yesterday for this edit which was part of a string of the same reversion on Talk:Kanye West originally by 66.82.9.54 (talk • contribs • info • WHOIS), then 69.19.14.36 (talk • contribs • info • WHOIS) and the one you just blocked. I note that they are all HughesNet IPs and the notice on the talk pages to warns against blocking due to the dynamic IP system they operate and it seems clear that the same user can get quite different IPs from a total different subnet in a short space of time. That's it really, just thinking out loud, I didn't block them because there didn't seem much point if they would shift that quick. No real solution to that one. Mfield (Oi!) 04:18, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- I usually just block any that turn up, even if they keep doing it. It is far easier for me to block someone than it is for them to get a new IP address, so usually people get bored. If they don't, you can often place a short range block to stop them completely. J.delanoygabsadds 16:35, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

This was not Vandalism It may look like it but that user was actually, inappropriately filling out an unblock template.--SKATER Speak. 17:44, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Are you joking? What the hell is wrong with you? "just unblock me you faggot i had enough of this shit fuck i had it with spellcast that stupid wanker" isn't vandalism?

- Sheesh are you somehow stalking my watchlist now too King :p? Anyway, I'm not questioning he's a vandal I'm just saying those particular edits aren't. Are they violations of WP:NPA and WP:CIVIL? Yes, but not vandalism. Oh well, not like it matters he remains blocked and all that matters.--SKATER Speak. 19:35, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

The accounts
Okay, let me explain. I have a brother who operated under NewWorld98 . One day, my brother saw me edit wikipedia and wanted to join in. Unfortunately, he had succumbed to the vandals and started making terrible edits. To get around the block, he took over my accounts (Reborn Patriot and Runslikeacheetahstingslikeabee each created after the other fell to his control).Luckily, he went to college next year and I thought I could finally start up an account without him. Mr Game 'n Watch I created for my pen pal in Tulsa, but I have no idea why it says it's operating on my computer. IronMöogol8.0 and Runs like a cheeta, stings like a bee are indeed my other accounts, but I did not create them for sockpuppetry, I created them because I'm getting close to qualify for adminship and these are supposed to be bots that'll run if I successfully become an Admin (IronMöogol8.0 to help with redirects and Runs like a cheeta, stings like a bee to help deliever newsletters). Those who are under OC-Tex Express and Bee-Maar are my neighbors (they're sharing my father's internet connection) and finally, Reborn American is my little brother's account (and what doesn't help is that I own the computer that my brother originally owned). I hope you understand this was a big mistake and that I'm not turning into a ringleader of some kind of vandalism. Secret Saturdays (talk) 00:47, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- To be very blunt, I do not believe you. Checkuser data indicates with almost absolute certainty that all of these accounts are unquestionably being operated by the same person. So many questions arise now... I want legitimate answers to these:
- How did some of the accounts you claim are completely unrelated to you find out about the WikiCup and sign up for it?
- Why did you sign up for the Wikicup with accounts you claim you were only going to use as bots?
- How do your neighbors manage to have absolutely identical hardware and software (not common software either) installed on their computer that you do, and edit with the same mobile devices? The same with your pen pal. Strange...
- Why are you letting your older brother access your accounts?
- Why did you lie to me and say that Reborn American was your brother, and that you now have his computer, when I can see clearly from checkuser data that that account has never accessed Wikipedia using anything other than an iPhone?
- To be honest, if you had said from the beginning that they were all being operated by you, I would have warned you not to do it in the future, and probably left it at that. Now that I know that you are not securing your accounts from your own brother... Not to mention knowing that you are willing to flat-out lie to me.... Let me just leave it at, my attitude is slightly different now. J.delanoygabsadds 01:12, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
I'm not trying to lie (in fact I never lie when it comes to serious matters just like this) but I'm serious about every single detail. I'm afraid I'll just leave it like that. Please don't block me for what my brother did. I can't take anymore criticisms and hatred because of what I am and what I think. Secret Saturdays (talk) 01:30, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
Ps. These are my answers. 1. I told them about this competition and they were very interested so I told them "Go ahead. Do it." 2. I said Runs like a cheeta, stings like a bee and IronMöogol8.0 were going to be my bots and they weren't on the signup list. 3. My father works for a computer company and he built some for my neighbors and for my penpal in Tusla. The mobile devices, however, I'm confused about too. 4. I didn't. He would take my accounts by force. 5. I said my younger brother is Reborn American and I own my older brother's computer. Other than the time he used his account on my iPhone, her forgets that he has an account and edits on mine instead. 6. Everything is true.
- Wikipedia's pretty popular nowadays, eh? Penpals, neighbors, and siblings. My pet goldfish is making an account soon, just so you know. iMatthew talk at 01:47, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Secret Saturdays, I have reviewed J.delanoy's checks, and I concur with him entirely. So, you have a choice now: pick an account and stick to it please. You can just mention here which one you want to keep using. Risker (talk) 01:56, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
Fine, I'm sticking with Secret Saturdays. Secret Saturdays (talk) 02:12, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
But I still have a question: since this matter is about cleared up, do I re-sign myself to wikicup or do they need to do an assessment? Secret Saturdays (talk) 02:17, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- You will need to ask whoever is coordinating it what to do. J.delanoygabsadds 02:18, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Secret Saturdays, the competition doesn't start until next year. I'll allow you to re-add your name on October 31, at the end of the current competition; so long as you've stuck to one account from now until then (and of course forever afterwards). iMatthew talk at 02:26, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

IP Block or something?
Hi! One of my friends said that wikipedia has this, IP block or something like that. CheckUser Request
Dear Mr. Delanoy: There is currently an ANI debate regarding what constitutes verifiable references/citations in the Wikipedia universe. However, there may be a sock puppet dimension to it as well inasmuch as, while the complaint involves two editors, a third popped up today who has edited nothing but the article in question, in a manner suggestive of one of the two allegedly edit warring editors. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to run CheckUser on the following three editors: Fifelfoo, Baxter9, and Tyrker? Thanks! — SpikeToronto 00:16, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Why do you think they are socks? J.delanoygabsadds 01:20, 29 September 2009 (UTC)*slaps self* 01:22, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- None of them are related. J.delanoygabsadds 01:41, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for checking! Now, would it be appropriate for me, since, without accusation, I raised the possibility in the ANI discussion, to say that checkuser found them not to be socks? Or, would it be better for you to say since you ran the checkuser? Or, should I just leave it? I’ve never asked for a checkuser before and am therefore unsure of how to proceed. Thanks! — SpikeToronto 02:18, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
