Dan arndt (talk) 07:00, 27 April 2023 (UTC)Replaceable non-free use File:Megalodacne varia.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Megalodacne varia.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 15:31, 30 April 2023 (UTC)

Taxonomy templates for species
[edit]Taxonomy templates are never needed for species. A species article uses {{Speciesbox}}
which then uses the genus name to find the parent taxon. Peter coxhead (talk) 03:12, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, my bad. Do you wish for the template to be deleted? Memer15151 (talk) 03:15, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, thank you for your contributions on Iatan, Texas. I looked over the article, and I noticed that there are elements of close paraphrasing. - Hello! Sadly, your draft is not ready for the mainspace yet; I have left a comment on the draft explaining why.
- "YouTube is still cited in the majority of inline citations; the addition of Wikipedia articles as refs is prohibited (see this). Also, please change the bare links to be formatted like the inline citations (although you don't have to make them inline citations, just make it so they have a title/author if applicable because that would increase your chances)."

Draft: Opera Orlando
[edit]Hi,
Apologies if I am bothering you but I want to know what better way I can fix my article of Opera Orlando. You see I am volunteering there, and I have tried to publish this article two times before and I thought that I followed the advice that the previous reviewers gave me. I thought I edited it correctly. But how many sources do I need to publish this article? What would you recommend that I would need to add or to cut? Again, sorry to inconvenience you, I just want to have this article be published without it getting deleted because of my incompetence. Bluebox57 (talk) 20:18, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- I would recommend finding more citations for the Programs and Missions sections. Look for paragraphs that are unreferenced. Can you find a source that supports the information? If not, you should delete it, or, if it is in a source you already have, you can name the reference and reuse it (see WP:REPEATCITE). Also, look at WP:PEACOCK for promotional words to watch. UserMemer (chat) Tribs 20:29, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the recommendations. Bluebox57 (talk) 20:33, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- No problem! If you want it to be neater you can look at some of the manual of style guidelines. Also, drafts aren't checked for notabilty, so you won't have to worry about deletion unless you don't edit it in 6 months. UserMemer (chat) Tribs 20:41, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello,
- sorry to bother you, again. This may be a dumb question but am I allowed to use the company website as a source for the Wikipedia article or does that not count as an independent source. I just wanted to make sure. Either way, thank you and I hope this message finds you well. Bluebox57 (talk) 22:13, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- You can use the source for uncontroversial claims. It will not be counted towards notability, but as long as it is an uncontroversial self-description unlikely to be challenged, it can be kept. For example, if the page says when the company was founded, that would be fine, although, if independent sources are available, they should accompany or replace the company's self-description. But, if it was a claim, say, that "in revenue, we make millions of dollars", you should find a secondary, independent source that states that. That claim could be challenged and removed if no independent sources are used. See WP:ORGIND for more information. UserMemer (chat) Tribs 22:21, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- So does this mean I can use them as a source when I describe their programs. Bluebox57 (talk) 22:28, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- Most of the content in the "Programs" section seems uncontroversial, although I see some neutral point of view issues. Two examples I found were "Opera Orlando contributes to the community of Central Florida community year-round with their production and educational programs" and "Opera Orlando gives back to the community through in-school opera previews, masterclasses with company artists, and invitations to dress rehearsals for MainStage productions." "Gives back to the community" and "contributes to the community" are too positive and you should just state the facts. Independent sources are preferred if you want to make this draft more notable, but I don't think the information in that section would be challenged. You can't use the company itself for claims of other organizations or people sponsoring the company, remember, self-descriptions only. So, yes, you can, but if you can find other sources, I recommend using them; add my suggestions and that'll be fine. UserMemer (chat) Tribs 22:39, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- I have just noticed that in your first comment, you stated you are volunteering with the company. I seem to have overlooked this. Before submitting, you need to state your conflict of interest (see WP:DISCLOSE). UserMemer (chat) Tribs 22:41, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, I hope this message finds you well and that you’re not too busy. I wanted to confirm that I’ve noted my conflict of interest in the draft and included the company website, Opera Orlando, as a reference for the programs. I’ve also added details on the company’s annual events. Do you think I'm good to go, or would you suggest any further adjustments? Bluebox57 (talk) 19:46, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi! I do notice a few uncited paragraphs that could benefit from some sources. You can reuse a source as much as you want as long as it contains the information it is referencing (assuming the source is reliable). You only really need one citation per paragraph. Once you do that, I think your article will be ready for submission; I do notice a few grammar issues or typos, but you don't have to fix them for it to be accepted. UserMemer (chat) Tribs 20:15, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, sorry to bother you. I hope you’re doing well. I recently added some references to the article, including the "About Us" page from the Opera Orlando website. Would you consider this a reliable source that aligns with Wikipedia’s standards? Additionally, do you have any recommendations for further adjustments, or do you believe the article is ready for publication? Thank you for your time and guidance! Bluebox57 (talk) 18:15, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, in the context in which the sources were added, they are reliable sources. Some sentences in the article could benefit from a fix in grammar, and I have just fixed it now. I also removed a sentence which I couldn't find a source for, but I don't know where you got most of the "Seasons" section from. Just add a reliable source, even if it's the company's website. After that, I think you won't have any issues, but it's always nice to get a fresh look at an article from a different person, so I'll leave the next review to someone else. Good luck!

- I have just noticed that in your first comment, you stated you are volunteering with the company. I seem to have overlooked this. Before submitting, you need to state your conflict of interest (see WP:DISCLOSE). UserMemer (chat) Tribs 22:41, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- So does this mean I can use them as a source when I describe their programs. Bluebox57 (talk) 22:28, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the recommendations. Bluebox57 (talk) 20:33, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

The article Ben McKay (actor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Article has no substantive references, and I have not been able to find decent reliable sources to establish or support the subject’s notability. A previous AfD consensus was to delete.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. SunloungerFrog (talk) 15:11, 11 November 2024 (UTC)

The Draft For Devendra Kothe rejected by Memer15151
[edit]The draft has been reject because the memer15151 thinks that the person with name Mr. Devendra Kothe is not notable. The explanation for the same is the aforementioned person is a known corporator from Solapur area & is definitely going to win upcoming elections scheduled on 20-Nov-2024 as per the all the surveys.
Almost all MLAs from India have a Wikipedia page, if they do have why can't Mr. Kothe have it? Mohit Gandmal (talk) 19:02, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hello! I can understand your frustration. However, your submission does not seem to meet WP:NPOL or the WP:GNG at this time. There are not enough sources that are independent, reliable, and in-depth. Furthermore, the subject has not been elected into a major political office, and does not seem to have significant coverage from historians or the press. UserMemer (chat) Tribs 13:47, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- In addition, the section about Coronavirus needs more citations; it also reads a bit too promotional for an encyclopedia article. UserMemer (chat) Tribs 13:53, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
[edit]Hi Memer15151, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:
- Add Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers to your watchlist to follow NPP-related discussions
- If you use Twinkle, configure it to log your CSDs and PRODs
- If you can read any languages other than English, add yourself to the list of reviewers with language proficiencies
You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! signed, Rosguill talk 23:24, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
