Eastern Nazarene College[edit]

Hey, thanks for the contributions and cleanup! I was curious about the cleanup you did on the campus location, though. Most of what you did seems to be "Wiki standards" cleanup (yay) but that one I'd put as a note because I wasn't into advertising the location or anything. I figured, if you wanted to know where it was exactly, you could click on Quincy, Wollaston, the geographical coordinates, the MBTA weblink, etc. Aepoutre 18:33, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey, I'm going to change it back until I hear from you. Let me know! Aepoutre 02:44, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Oden image removal[edit]

Hi, I notice you removed my Oden image. Can you tell me why you think it is not oden? Sterry2607 (talk) 05:48, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Because it's an image of baigai, not even listed as an oden ingredient on this page (nor can I find it in recipes elsewhere). Naniwako (talk) 13:42, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Understood, but it was cooked oden style at an oden restaurant. I too noticed it wasn't in the list of foods. I understand that baigai is a more generic term and it would be probably good to find some more details on it as oden food. I wanted it there in the article specifically because it was different. However, I will do some more research before I think about reinstating it. Can I suggest though, that you talk to users first before deleting images like this (ie images that aren't offensive and that have no copyright issues)? It helps retain the sense of community I think to talk things over first. Cheers Sterry2607 04:56, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Numbers[edit]

On your edit of "fourteen" to "14", etc: MoS says: numbers greater than nine may be rendered in numerals or may be rendered in words if they are expressed in one or two words (sixteen, eighty-four, two hundred, but 3.75, 544, 21 million). -- Hoary (talk) 23:59, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Your edits to Hiroh Kikai[edit]

I've just now reverted all your recent edits. I'm sure that all were meant well, but most strike me as unfortunate and the remainder as a matter of stylistic choice: you prefer your style but I prefer mine, so we'd better leave the decision to a third party. I don't have the stamina needed to discuss them all; if you'd like to ask about any of them, please do and I'll be happy to respond (and perhaps even to agree that you were right). -- Hoary (talk) 00:18, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Copyright problem: 1963 Elephant Mountain B-52 crash[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as 1963 Elephant Mountain B-52 crash, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.moosehead.net/history/B-52.html, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), versions 1.3 or later then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:1963 Elephant Mountain B-52 crash saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Socrates2008 (Talk) 11:10, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi. I'm investigating this matter and noticed when evaluating the article's history that you moved material from one article to another, but did not leave a clear enough edit summary that the attribution history can be easily traced. The edit summary you used was a good start, but "mountain page" is a little vague. :) When splitting or merging content from one page to another, please provide a direct link to the source page in the edit summary (something like "Text taken from [[Elephant Mountain (Piscataquis County, Maine)]]") of the destination article and also provide a direct link to the destination page in edit summary at the source page. In the first case, this helps others easily determine authorship. The purpose of the edit summary at the source page is not only to help others find the text more easily, but also to help prevent the article being inadvertently deleted, since we can't delete the attribution history of the text so long as it remains anywhere on Wikipedia. Now that I've cleaned the copyright problem, there's no attribution history to worry about here. This note is just in case you run into this situation again. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:58, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Handling infringement, some general information[edit]

Hi. Your note at the talk page of the above article, which indicated that you realized the material was a copyright infringement, made me wonder if perhaps you understood how those are handled on Wikipedia. A glance shows me that you attempted to address infringement at The Washington Diplomat, which we greatly appreciate. :) However, I'm afraid that addressing infringement requires a far more substantial rewrite. If you see such problems in the future, please consider tagging them in accordance with the instructions at WP:CP. If you want information on revising to efface infringement, there is some in a Wikipedia essay located at Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:29, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Conrad Shindler House Water Table[edit]

Hello! I wonder if you could please tell me about one of the photos at Conrad Shindler House. I think you originated that excellent article. I'm working on the article Water table (architecture), and I'm trying to understand this illustration better, the one with the file name of Image:Water_Table_Original_House.jpg and the caption "Historic Flemish Bond and Water Table at the Shindler House (ca. 1795)". The file name implies that this is the "Original House." Is this part of the house or from somewhere nearby? If part of the house, where on the house? What does "historic Flemish bond" signify? I'd appreciate whatever you can tell me. Thanks! --Frankie Rae (talk) 17:18, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Information about source[edit]

Hi, I have recently been editing the page Nobody Knows. I noted that you have added information to the "Production" section like "Director Hirokazu Koreeda had drafted and revised several screenplays for over 15 years until production from autumn 2002 to summer 2003." etc. Is it possible to give me the source of these information so that I can reference them? Furthermore, I hope to improve this article into a GA-class one, and I hope that you can help me. Thanks! --Lionratz (talk) 03:47, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of DPS, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on DPS, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
