Removal of maintenance tags[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Shajith Koyeri. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. March 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors. Please comment on the content and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You are welcome to rephrase your comment as a civil criticism of the article. Thank you. "madman is aggressively doing something. Why don't he try to improve with his own words then instead of his so called peacock. I think he gone real mad." Theroadislong (talk) 12:09, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello, Pitarobertz. There have been several problems with your editing relating to Shajith Koyeri, and, as you have been informed, the matter has been raised at the dispute resolution noticeboard. I thought it might help to explain to you what the problems are, so that you can understand how to address those problems. First of all, you made substantial edits which were not written from a neutral point of view, as required by Wikipedia policy. Your edits were unambiguously designed to promote the subject, that is to say to tell us how wonderful he is, not to give a neutral, detached account. Secondly, you made statements which were not supported by any source. When these statements were removed, you restored them. Any statement which has been challenged or questioned, or which may be controversial, must be supported by reliable sources, and must not be restored without such sources. We do not accept content purely on the basis of the say so of someone who chooses to edit Wikipedia. thirdly, you have removed a maintenance template, calling attention to problems, from the article without addressing the issues it referred to. Such maintenance templates help to alert other editors to problems which they may be able to help with, and should not be removed until the issues have been resolved. Fourthly, when you find other editors disagree with your edits, it is not acceptable to simply keep repeating the same edits. Doing so, known as edit warring, can lead to being blocked from editing. Instead, explain the reasons for your editing on the article's talk page, and try to reach agreement. I am also giving you a welcome message, which contains links to various pages which may help you to understand how Wikipedia works. I suggest you have a look at the ones which seem most relevant. If you follow what they say, they should help to remove the risk of being blocked from editing, which might happen if you were to continue in the same way you have being doing so far. (I do hope that will not happen.) Also, please feel welcome to contact me on my talk page if you need more advice. JamesBWatson (talk) 13:05, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Vishal O Sharma, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 180 days. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 15:28, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Pitarobertz. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Vishal O Sharma".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Vishal O Sharma}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 17:00, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Page move[edit]

You have messed with the page. Reverting with moves is not as simple as reverting edits. Now an admin has to fix it, all the page history is lost. If you have an issue, there is talk page. The move to S. Kumar (cinematographer) was done because "ISC" (Indian Society of Cinematographers) is not part of his name. ISC is an organisation, the members of this society will show a suffix, ISC with their name in film credits. See the articles for other ISC member (Santosh Sivan, P. C. Sreeram etc).--Charles Turing (talk) 13:52, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for August 25[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited S. Kumar (cinematographer), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Pattalam and Parinayam. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File permission problem with File:S. Kumar (cinematographer).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:S. Kumar (cinematographer).jpg, which you've attributed to S. KUMAR. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 03:10, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
