2015 GA Cup - Round 2

WikiProject Good Articles's 2015 GA Cup - Round 2 Greetings, GA Cup competitors! Wednesday saw the end of Round 1. The Rambling Man, who was eliminated during the first round in our last competition, earned an impressive 513 points, reviewed twice as many articles (26) as any other competitor. It was a tight race for second for first-time competitors BenLinus1214 and Tomandjerry211, who finished second and third with 243 and 224 points, respectively. Close behind was Wugapodes, who earned 205 points. The change in our points system had an impact on scoring. It was easier to earn higher points, although the key to success didn't change from last time, which was choosing articles with older nomination dates. For example, most of the articles The Rambling Man reviewed were worth 18 points in the nomination date category, and he benefited from it. BenLinus1214 reviewed the longest article, A Simple Plan (at 26,536 characters, or 4,477 words), the 1994 film starring Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton, and Bridget Fonda and directed by Sam Raimi, and earned all possible 5 points in that category. After feedback from our participants, the judges slightly changed the rule about review length this time out. Shorter reviews are now allowed, as long as reviewers give nominators an opportunity to address their feedback. Shorter reviews are subject to the judges' discretion; the judges will continue their diligence as we continue the competition. Despite having fewer contestants at the beginning of Round 1 than last time, 132 articles were reviewed, far more than the 117 articles that were reviewed in Round 1 of the inaugural GA Cup. All of us involved should be very proud of what we've accomplished thus far. The judges are certain that Round 2 will be just as successful. 16 contestants have moved onto Round 2 and have been randomly placed in 4 groups of 4, with the top 2 in each pool progressing to Round 3, as well as the top participant ("9th place") of all remaining competitors. Round 2 has already begun and will end on August 29 at 23:59:59 UTC. Information about Round 2 and the pools can be found here. Good luck and remember to have fun! La Flaca and Urban Dictionary as a source

Why did you write Urban Dictionary isn't a reliable source? Just like Wikipedia, it is user generated, plus users can vote, up or down, for the definition of a term. Not only is it more democratic than a dictionary, it's also judged by users, unlike Wikipedia. Also, it is the only real source available for common usage and slang. In any case, if Urban Dictionary isn't accepted as a source, Wikipedia itself should never be accepted as a source, which would be a mistake.

Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo

Many back and forth on edits. I repeat, she was not arrested by Toronto Police. It is clearly cited in the source. Her outstanding warrants of almost 10 years are questionable and may no longer be active. It is a primary source and may be libelous if charges are already dropped. A secondary source has already reported this Toronto Star and Sun, i still have issues with Pulse Nigeria and quotes taken from Facebook or Twitter. Not credible! She also works for Pulse Nigeria. What are you propagating your false lies ? I had left information on my edits after you requested them "Have written a better articulated intro, that portrays the major principles and beliefs of the Sikh religion, as the lead for this page should do". Did you bother to read this ? Simultaneously I started a section on the talk page. You have all the opportunity to come in there, than edit warring.

Hi there, you have removed my edit to Thelma & Louise plot last scene location - which describes the great twist of the final scene - and was missing from the Wikipedia entry - although the info is in comments inside the article - but not visible. @Rsrikanth05: Let's not beat this to death, but if you would kindly hit edit on the Plot section of Thelma and Louise wiki page, in the wiki source text, you would find following sentence which is actually commented out so not visible in the rendered HTML page:

<!-- the fact that this scene is actually filmed in Utah is mentioned in the production section below, the setting of the scene was clearly intended to be the Grand Canyon. -------->

So there is actually visible to certain people feature. And about source - the movie it self is the source since both actress are sitting in a car on the edge of Monument Valley in Utah, but call it the god damn grand canyon by mistake instead. And this information is missing on the wiki page. Hence the only cause I'm trying to justify here is to make that interesting fact about the movie visible to all readers, that's all. @BatteryIncluded: Hi, there is no language called Indian language. There are 22 officially recognised languages plus numerous others in the country. As per WP:INDICSCRIPTS, Indic scripts must NOT be present in the lead of the article. They can be present in the infobox, most likely Sanskrit, since the name is a Sanskrit one, but none in the infobox. Thank you. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 06:06, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
