Fair use rationale for File:Risk logo.jpgThanks for uploading or contributing to File:Risk logo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 09:21, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
beta releaseI was shocked to see your edit of my post as the rules clearly state that verifiable statements refering to the design of the game are permitted. I should be very interested to have you point out a single sentence in my post that is not a verifiable statement of fact. As to your comment about my opinion not being relevant, I cannot find a single statement of my opinion anywhere in the post. It seems that the only opinion that matters is yours. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikepytel (talk • contribs) 00:43, 10 March 2009 (UTC) Ta-ta!It always amazes me how much useful info never pops up on google search... I had to go trawling video game sites for that little gem (surprisingly, I now have good info for the UK and australia, but nothing for the US as of yet :P) --Der Wohltempierte Fuchs (talk) 18:27, 10 March 2009 (UTC) Hi S@ber! I was just wondering if you could add some review sites to this template for me. One is GameDaily (code GD) and the other is Just Adventure (code JA). They're both listed as reliable at the WP:VG sources page. Thanks! — Levi van Tine (t – c) 11:22, 11 March 2009 (UTC) shogunI was actually browsing a lot of top 10 lists, and "best of" forums... but related to FPSes. I must have accidentally saw someone who mentioned Shogun in an offtopic message or something. Sorry to disappoint. Proposal to change Template:VG-ActionThanks for participating in the discussion about this template. I have now made a proposal, looking to establish consensus to change it, and I'd be grateful if you could express your approval or disapproval, in WT:WikiProject_Video_games#Proposal. Unfortunately, it seems that Best Buy is the only retailer still to have information regarding their special unit in their official site - but I was able to find official Empire: Total War F.A.Q from the game's official site which mentions the retail units. --Kurt Leyman (talk) 21:43, 28 March 2009 (UTC) Nintendo Task Force RequestHi, I'm from the Nintendo Task Force. national wikiprojectsS@bre, most video games, or other objects that are tied to a country of origin, by obligation, must be part of the projects per se. Countries with very special, well documented significance (i.e. South Korea with Starcraft, Scandinavian countries with Donald Duck) should also be attached. - I understand the US is a broad category, but this is out of obligation. WhisperToMe (talk) 12:57, 4 April 2009 (UTC) You took more than a moment. I demand a refund. Why not do it both ways? Since it's an article on the entire season, I would say starting off with general consensus about the game as a whole would be warranted, then you can drill down to positive/negative comments about individual eps. --Der Wohltempierte Fuchs (talk) 23:20, 6 April 2009 (UTC) How do IGo down to the file histories. RE: A UK police power isn't exactly relevant, nor is the idea of private propertyWell, if you ever played the game, this is EXACTLY what they do. Stopping citizens on the street and raiding the blocks of flats where the poor folks live. But I won't argue about such a trifle. Otherwise, well done with that electroshock baton, I didn't know that it redirects to electroshock weapons, and it is batons which they are using, so I thought it would be more accurate than just weapons. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NeonPuffin (talk • contribs) 20:49, 26 April 2009 (UTC) Cheers for taking the time to review and copyedit Medieval: Total War, I'll try to find those sources and get a good screenshot whenever my computer that can run the game is working again. Your GA nomination of Sam & Max Save the WorldThe article Sam & Max Save the World you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . It hasn't failed because it's basically a good article, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Sam & Max Save the World for things needed to be addressed. MuZemike 19:30, 16 May 2009 (UTC) TF2It's pretty small beer, but I think you're bordering on WP:OR here by interpreting hard facts from jokes. A spate of comedy blog posts about firing everyone doesn't tell us anything concrete about whether the leak was an intentional marketing ploy, or a genuine accident that they're making light of. --McGeddon (talk) 12:33, 20 May 2009 (UTC) Belated admin congratsBelated congrats on making it to admin. DP76764 (Talk) 06:13, 12 June 2009 (UTC) DYK for Tales of Monkey IslandBringing in other wiki's?What is the feasibility of merging in content from other wiki's that have GFDL licence? I ask this in the context of the Diablo series... which seems to be far inferior to it's wikia counterpart http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Diablo_Wiki . Now it probably would be possible to simply draw from their sources and create content simmilar, although concidering how well written it already is, the question remains 'why fix something that isn't broken'?--Tyraz (talk) 23:14, 15 June 2009 (UTC) Dublin1994I would have gone for a shorter block--but a perusal of his contribution history didn't turn up anything constructive. Blueboy96 22:30, 17 June 2009 (UTC) Starcraft locationsHello! I am little dismayed that our exchange there got heated all of a sudden, so anyway, what about Sephiroth's suggestion of some kind "universe of Starcraft" article. I am generally open to compromises and would be willing to meet a halfway for a merge and redirect there. I truly believe that the items have potential, hence why I am opposed to redlinking, but if we combine the various Starcraft fictional element articles into a univser one in which we at least allow for edit history intact and redirects, I would be willing to 1) compromise there and 2) see if anything turns up sourcewise in the various game magazines for which I have subscriptions. Best, --A NobodyMy talk 18:51, 26 June 2009 (UTC) Starcraft 2Hi, I noticed the changes I made where undone on the SC2 page. I'm not quite sure how to go about citing this controversy as the majority of the discussion is taking place (so far) in places like the Blizzard forums, Digg comments, etc. There are already many articles written on the subject (cited an IGN article?), however, because the interview was posted on the 28th the controversy is still building. Google: Starcraft 2 LAN and you can see it's heating up quickly. Also, if there's anything bias feel free to clean it up to be more balanced (did my best) —Preceding unsigned comment added by JMJimmy (talk • contribs) 00:16, 30 June 2009 (UTC) How many blog/news posts are required before it becomes "controversy"? While a fan I am, +"no lan" +"starcraft 2" Google search brings up 10,700 results in 2 days since the news was announced. And yes, I know not everyone of those 10k will be relevant, however, going through them there's a statistically significant number of pages, including a petition with ~3500 signatures (petitiononline dot com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?LANSC2) that bemoan the lack of LAN support. I would also agree with you that fans get upset over the slightest changes, in this particular case the history of SC1 LAN parties makes this issue far more significant than a typical "here and gone" fan issue. I agree that it should be a neutral point of view, and that quality citations are needed as it is a controversial subject. If Ars/IGN are not significant enough sources, what would be? On a side note: your comments indicated citing wikipedia - no wikipedia citations where made so it's rather confusing. I did have trouble with the Ars Technia citation which wouldn't display the title for some reason. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JMJimmy (talk • contribs) 16:07, 30 June 2009 (UTC) The WPVG Newsletter (Q2 2009)The WikiProject Video Games Newsletter Project At a Glance

Starcraft (series) #NovelizationsHi, S@bre, I can't find this Manual of Style.... Can you show me where it is? (I swear I'm not being sarcastic... I might be slightly lazy, yes) Doesn't the bold make it easier to read? to tell how many books there are? I actually read the novels myself, and being interested I like to follow the order, and in reading that passage, I found it a bit difficult to tell how many novels there are and in what order they go... The list of mods are the largest mods for the project as can be seen by the number of total downloads on www.d3files.com and the number of followers/site vistors of the listed mods on the moddb.com website. How would I cite this to have the mods listed? I listed the mods in the same format as on the Quake 2 page, can you please explain the difference between having mods for Quake 2 listed as opposed to Doom 3 mods? I was looking to expand on the list to include distinction between released and unreleased mods (as Hexen:EOC is not released yet)... Can you please advise? Re: ElaineShe's actually looking pretty good, I'm not too much worried about further reception at this point per se because there has been some notability shown for the subject now and the development information provides a nice helping of real-world content. There looks like there's enough bits of reception out there too in what I've read and cited in Elaine's article that LeChuck and Guybursh could be fixed as well, but one thing at a time. StarCraft linksI noticed that all the sclegacy.com transcript links (such as [2] and [3]) seem to be dead; they are widely used in articles like Species of StarCraft, the character lists, etc. Do you know of any plans to replace them in a systematic way (such as applying for a bot to look up urls from web.archive.org, or do something like that the geocities bot has been doing), or will it have to be done manually? rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 21:11, 13 November 2009 (UTC) Good PointHey S@bre, Just wanted to say good point on the StarCraft characters page at the Characters of StarCraft page. It's a big-un, so let me know if you got it. BOZ (talk) 14:20, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
