Please Help There are Stalkers monitoring the Stalking Page -
Stalkers Have found their way to this Page*-they have posted something (you can see by the lack of flow abruptness, etc and they edit and delete all else
- You can tell that it is not proper-it matches nothing* very choppy splicing and no flow. Most "Stalkers" do the -not-intilectual approach-
Yes, the actual Wikipedia "Stalking" page, has Stalkers on it. . .. They seem to be actual sociopaths - and have added Garbage to slander - stalking victims. ..
- by the way, these people are going to try to draw you out into a conversation using manipulation i.e. emotional etc . . . Please do not allow that 0
I added a small paragraph, which I incidentally found on the "Harassment" topic - and it is accepted on Wiki already- as it is used on that page - it completed and matched the entire flow of page-but it was deleted (vandalized) on the 24th. Please Help ! Stalkers Have found their way to this Page* -they have posted the Garbage edit and delete all else
- Hi there. Please take a look at this page and feel free to get a hold of admins who are comfortable dealing with potentially sensitive situations. wdl template is not working in Bengali Wikipedia
Hi, I've noticed that wdl template is not working in Bengali Wikipedia. Please look up the matter. Regards. Anubhab91 (talk) 15:52, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

However, you can write User:Theopolisme who created the cite wdl template and see about localizing it if you'd interested! THanks for contributing! SarahStierch (talk) 15:52, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 5
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited New History of the Five Dynasties, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jin dynasty (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hendy Woods
Re this change: are you certain that the trees in your new image are old growth? They look far too thin to me, and their location next to a road makes this questionable (the old growth groves are further into the park, away from the roads. —David Eppstein (talk) 20:01, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

- Since the main point of having a park there is to preserve the old growth groves, I think a picture of that is more appropriate than of generic young redwoods by the side of a road. And indeed the heart of the groves is very dark, so I think it's appropriate to have a picture that shows it that way. I have some other photos at http://www.ics.uci.edu/~eppstein/pix/hendywoods2/index.html some of which might also be suitable but I felt this one best captured the feel of the place. (By the way, in case it wasn't clear — this isn't about the quality of your photo at all, it's about the subject matter. An image of young redwoods by the side of the road would be very appropriate for the nearby Navarro River Redwoods State Park, just not for this one.) —David Eppstein (talk) 20:05, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

Harassment and Stalking
Yes, of couse, That is the page that the added paragraph actually comes from (the one I referenced as being maliciously vandalized *removed* on the 24th of August) . ..
That small section happens to illuminate the Stalking article's paragraph, and the Stalking article as a whole very phenominally.
The Problem I have with doing what you suggested (Which was my first inclination myself) is that when I started doing that, I was immediately and repeatedly threatened by the people I mentioned, they say they are Admins, and will block me if I continue to raise this issue with anyone not on their page or something Dynomitedetails (talk) 17:13, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
It is obviously an attempt to keep others from being involved, but these stalking people do seem to be admins, so they will carry out their threats I am afraid. What can we do?Dynomitedetails (talk) 17:13, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

Gendergap question
Hi Sarah,
On 27 August 2013 I sent an e-mail to gendergap@lists.wikimedia.org (subject heading: Discussion taking place on BLP noticeboard). I then received a reply saying that it was "being held until the list moderator can review it for approval". My intention was to get it to appear here. Did I send it to the wrong address or is this just the usual amount of time that it takes?
Also, the discussion was about Keeley Hazell. What started as a discussion about her became a discussion about whether (a) Page 3, the section on glamour modelling, and the section on magazines in the glamour photography article, all referring to a lack of subtlety and softcore pornography was enough to say that there is an "accepted knowledge" link between Page 3 and softcore pornography, and (b) whether a BLP article that has sources linking a model to Page 3, FHM magazine, Zoo (magazine) etc. means that it is okay to add that model to the pornography portal on the grounds that her blp is of interest to that portal (the portal does not give a "scope" section).
In my last post of the discussion, and on the advice of other editors, I said that I would try to get a policy consensus on the wider point (b). In the meantime an admin has closed the discussion on Keeley Hazell's talk page saying that there is a "consensus against including link to Pornography portal." I realize that it is not simply a case of adding up those for and those against, but I would have thought that it was at least a "no consensus".
I am now unsure whether it is okay to go ahead with a proposal for Page 3 models to be regarded as eligible for the pornography portal, simply on the grounds that they are of interest to that portal, or where to put such a proposal, or even if this message to you is okay. --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 02:21, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Unfortunate, as of late, we have been inundated with non-subscriber spam (I got ~10 messages today,) so it is likely that we missed your message in the fray. I'm sorry, I do try to get to legit ones as I can. If you sign up as subscriber to the mailing list you shouldn't have this problem again. IEG for Program Assessment
Hi Sarah-- two questions about program assessment. I'm very interested in conducting a few forms of program assessment for the WLL event I am conducting in October and for the GLAM program I am helping to develop here in Chicago. There are some forms of assessment (e.g. recorded interviews) that I was interested in conducting that would require me to invest in some appropriate equipment. I do not know how familiar you are with the Individual Engagement Grants, but I was curious to get your feedback on whether this would make for a viable proposal.
Relatedly, as your previous survey asked participants about how the WMF could assist us in terms of helping with program assessment, what resources are available to help me develop effective questions and strategies for getting useful feedback and data based on these events, and what kinds of analyses might be helpful for informing decisions about future events? With my background in psychology, I have experience in developing surveys for various cooperative programs and designing appropriate analyses based on the feedback, so I have some ideas, but I figured it would be good to seek other opinions, particularly since assessment seems to be your initiative. I, JethroBT drop me a line 19:56, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Jethro. I'm not sure if IEG is able to fund something like that. The best person to ask is User:Sbouterse (WMF), she runs the program and is always happy to provide thoughts and feedback. One other idea, if you just need funding to get equipment and for potential travel, you could apply for a [[1]]. However, Siko works on the grantmaking team and could better advise.
- For your second question, if you don't mind bringing it to our meta portal, where the entire PE&D team and community participates, that would be ideal. We actually have a program evaluation specialist and we're developing a portal (The one I am sending you to is temporary) which will feature many resources about this. If you can perhaps pitch your question on our Q&A forum here that would be great, because Frank and Jaime don't edit English Wikipedia on their staff accounts, at least (and not really as volunteers, either). You can browse the entire temporary portal here. SarahStierch (talk) 20:01, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
- Hey there Sarah and Jethro! Chiming in on the IEG question - it depends exactly what you've got in mind for the project, Jethro. IEGs are for projects that are 6 months long, and you can request funding for equipment etc as well as for time or other people's time to help with the project. We're definitely willing to fund research projects, especially if you're aiming to wind up with something that can be a scalable model for others to follow and learn from. However, if it is more of a one-time expense kind of thing, not a multi-month project that you'd be looking for support for, as Sarah mentions, a Project and Events Grant might be more the ticket. They'll want to know what you plan to do with the equipment after the grant ends, so you might want to give that some thought in advance...would you donate it in the resource exchange on Commons or something? Anyway, happy to kick around ideas in more detail if you've got more grants questions! Cheers, Siko (WMF) (talk) 18:33, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks Siko and Sarah. I know the IEG deadlines are coming up, I'm short on time to put together a grant proposal, and I don't think I could demonstrate a multi-month need for this project, so that might not be the best avenue right now. I think a one-time expense might be a better this time around. Still, I'll pitch the question to the Q&A board over at Meta tonight. Thanks for pointing me to that P&E grant resource, Siko. Lists
I need your opinion regarding this list. I don't know if the himself should appear so many times. Thank you very much. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 19:21, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- Heya Miss Bono :) Nice list..I looked at it and I'm not sure. I'm not as familiar with videography/discography lists and the protocol. To me, it looks a bit funny, but, it's what it is - he plays himself, and you're saying what he's doing, and I think that's OK and encyclopedic. So, even if it looks a bit funny, I think it's totally OK and looks good. If you need another opinion, another good place to ask might be the WikiProject about Film? But, I think it's OK. SarahStierch (talk) 23:18, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- I took a quick look when I noticed this discussion on my watch list. Project Actors and Film Makers has the style guide for that template at WP:FILMOGRAPHY. From what it says there, you credit the role as it is found in the credits of the film. When it is a role as in the series "The Simpsons" it will probably list it as "Himself". When it is a documentary or music video/film production (such as Joshua Tree) it will credit him as "Bono". This would differentiate an actual "role" where he has been written into a scripted production verses when he himself is the subject or part of the subject of the documentary. You can always ask for clarification on that talk page if you are not sure. Hope this helps.--Mark Miller (talk) 23:56, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Contemporary art
Hi Sarah. i would like to revitalize the wikiproject contemporary art. I added some resources and edited a bit the project pages. I think it would be useful to have a coordinated space for contemporary art. it is still needing quite a lot of effort to improve that Wikipedia offers in this field. it would be great if you can add the sources for US art and the references you have about women artists. hope you like the idea and thanks.--Iopensa (talk) 10:24, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

The article Hissho Sushi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Was accepted in AFC by an inexperienced editor after previously being declined as being written like an advertisement. There is insufficient demonstration that the topic is notable. The purpose of this page appears to be to promote the company and its leadership.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:58, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
AFD Michel Von Tell
Hello, i saw your work and it seams you are a fair person. I could need your help. I got a problem. I wrote an article and then there came a personal motifated 1 edit account witch did vanadlism to this article and did AFD to it. Also it seams he got some friends witch supported him a bit. This all happens when the article was still under construction and had a notice - do not change this article. its about this article Michel Von Tell
the afd seams to be going unfair and not very objectiv and nice. maybe you be be a bit more objectiv and open. here my arguments why this should stay. WP:BIO says
1 .Has been featured multiple times in notable mainstream media. DONE MMnews (alexa rank 500 of germany), Russia today (after cnn biggest news tv of the word), paraguay television and some more. see in article.
2 Has had significant roles in multiple films, shows, or other productions. DONE Films, audio books, shows, books, interviews, articles, big blogs etc see in article (witch was/is still under construction).
3 Has a large fan base. DONE
It of course has! you see about 1 million views on YT. His politic documentation alone got about 100 000 views. and this is quite a lot if you keep in mind it is a documentary about geopolitics!! also it is SWITZERLAND - less people then NYC! and this 7 million people their got 4 diffent languages! finaly you see he had very much highly notable guests. and i also showed their the YT channel of the 2 biggest TV stations of the country. www.youtube.com/user/sfr/videos this the offical channel of the 2 biggest tv stations of switzerland SF1 SF2 Schweizer Fernsehen.
have a look at how many views they got and compare please!
are this not quite many good arguments to keep this article? special if you keep in mind how small switzerland is, this article is just under construction? i mean hey. u know as good as me. 30% of Wikipedia got much less sources then this. would be nice if you could think about your voteing or let me know what exactly yor argument is. also i could show you hunderet of journalists witch are listed in wikipedia witch got WAY less sources and notablity then this article. here just some examples. Osaremen ehi james Larry Izamoje Chief Olu Oyesanya Meir Javedanfar Óðinn Jónsson Juan Bautista Rivarola Matto Leopoldo Ramos Giménez Luis Ruffinelli Alfredo Seiferheld Adriano Irala Fulgencio R. Moreno Sali Nivica Ludmilla Pajo Bedri Pejani Skender Temali Mirko Gashi Mirshahin Agayev Aslan Aslanov Kurt Thyboe Monica Ritterband Henrik Qvortrup Hans Pilgaard
now tell me pls - why this artcles are good and my article is not should be deleted? what is missing they got? would be nice if you could help me a bit. but anyway thank you for takeing time. Adniim- (talk) 07:01, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

For the past few months, Legoktm has built a replacement to the current message delivery system called MassMessage. MassMessage uses a proper user interface form (no more editing a /Spam subpage), works faster (it can complete a large delivery in minutes), and no longer requires being on an access list (any local administrator can use it). In addition, many tiny annoyances with the old system have been addressed. It's a real improvement! :-)
You can test out MassMessage here: testwiki:Special:MassMessage. The biggest difference you'll likely notice is that any input list must use a new {{#target:}}
parser function. For example, {{#target:User talk:Jimbo Wales}}
or {{#target:User talk:Jimbo Wales|test2.wikipedia.org}}
. For detailed instructions, check out mw:Help:Extension:MassMessage.
If you find any bugs, have suggestions for additional features, or have any other feedback, drop a note at m:Talk:MassMessage. Thanks for spamming! --MZMcBride (talk) 05:22, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
Justin Smith (radio) - thank you
Hi, Many thanks for your assistance/improvements and approval of the Justin Smith (radio). Much appreciated. Melbourne3163 (talk) 19:31, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
I added more citations per your feedback, as well as rewrote some of the text and added a translation template per some feedback I got on the Articles for Creation Help Desk. It sounds like the translation templates are supposed to go on the talk page, but since there is no talk page, they're just on the main space. Anyhow, the article has been resubmitted for review. Thanks for your help and let me know if you have any more suggestions. Vojen (talk) 22:44, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Metrics?
Hi Sarah.
At Wikipedia_talk:MED#Health_information_on_Wikipedia we're discussing the need for reliable metrics on Wikipedia medical content - unique visitors/month, page views/month, average time spent on a page, etc. - to help with outreach. I was wondering if you would be able to offer advice about the best way to go about getting that. Is there a formal request process, or is there a liaison with specific responsibility for that kind of need?
We also need rigorous scholarly scrutiny of those metrics (as well as quality, clarity and comprehensiveness metrics), comparing them with other online sources of health information - the kind of work that a doctoral candidate might do, or that we might commission a relevant academic institution to perform on our behalf. Is there anyone in the WMF that can offer us help with getting that underway? --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 02:41, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Anthony! Glad to know the project is thinking about this. We are able to provide support in suggesting tools to use (and eventually sharing tools we are hoping to create), and helping people learn more about how to evaluate - we can't evaluate your data for you - but, we can provide support. We are launching a new portal on meta-wiki on Friday, but, the easiest thing to do - since there we have a team, and our Program Evaluation Specialist Jaime doesn't edit English Wikipedia, is to email me with things you're interested in, or, if you wish, to leave requests and ideas here [2]. Sarah at wikimedia.org and then we can do our best to support you! SarahStierch (talk) 04:31, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

Date pages
Hello. I've noticed you've attempted to add events to a few date pages like May 15 but the events you added have not been supported by linked articles. The date pages rely on links to other articles that support the content, not external references. Please have a read of WP:DOY and WP:DAYS for information about what and how items should be included in the date pages. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 09:55, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Thank you and I just noticed...
that you were the closing admin for the AfD that started the Morning 277 SPI. I really didn't do that much. It was my first SPI. I did learn a lot.
A quick update: I responded to DQ's urgent request for help with account creation. I planned to just help when there was a backlog but it seems that as soon as one backlog is knocked down, another develops. I spend way too much time there and way too little at the Teahouse and in creating new content. Some of my projects are languishing.
I am now retired from paid work and spend a significant part of most days on Wikipedia-related activities. Take care, DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·cont) Join WER 04:08, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

some help please
Hi Sarah. I am a San Francisco based independent documentary filmmaker and about a year ago finished my 3rd feature documentary titled THE SINGULARITY. i know i can't write my own article so i tried to write a redirect and prompt an editor with Wikipedia to start an article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Singularity_%28film%29 Jonnie smith tagged what i wrote for deletion. i asked jonnie for help but i haven't heard back from jonnie.
Perhaps you can help me.
I think would be appropriate to have a Wikipedia article about the film (for many reasons) and I know I am not supposed to write my own article. That's why I didn't write much about the film or me and instead left sources (including imdb, press, and a couple theatre listings). The documentary film was released on iTunes last year, has been in a couple of film festivals and museum screenings, and now recently its begun to show in theatres. More than half of the people in the film (including Ray Kurweil, Leon Panetta, Richard A. Clarke) have Wikipedia articles about them and the film subject (the technological singularity) is the of course an article.
Perhaps there could be an article about me as well. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0937638. I have made 3 feature documentaries. My last film BUTTERFLY (2000)was broadcast on POV, PBS's premiere documentary showcase, as well as on the Sundance Channel. And both my last two films (BUTTERLY and WEED[1996]) have been in over 100 theatres around the country. there's ton of information about me on -ine through interviews and press and critiques, and interviews; in fact there's literally hundreds of web pages that reference me.
Would be interested in writing an article about me? I read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:BFAQ#COMPANY and that's why I made the entry that i did. But i am so lost with this.
Thanks! Doug Dougoinsf (talk) 19:34, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- Hi there Doug. The best place to request an article is by requesting an article here. Of course, your film has to pass Wikipedia's notability guidelines, which you can find here. If your film is notable enough, someone will eventually write an article about it on their own accord. And yes, please don't edit about your article, or add links to your article, etc. You could get blocked for that. Any further questions I'd advise stopping by the Teahouse. Good luck with your work! SarahStierch (talk) 19:39, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Sarah! i'll make the request later today. fyi, i know you are in the east bay. we (brass tax) have our Halloween renegade spooktakular in the east bay on Sunday november 3rd (well...it's actually permitted). do you know of brass tax? best party ever! best, DougDougoinsf (talk) 15:31, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Cathy Luchetti
Sarah, this is in regard to the Wikipedia entry on Cathy Luchetti. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathy_Luchetti Are you the person who places the note on the top of Cathy's page? How does one carry on a conversation with the specific individual who posts notes on an article? Anyway, I'm going to take care of the link rot issue, but you should be aware than Cathy's page is no longer orphan as Bo Keeley's page now references it. Bwisok (talk) 23:34, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
- (tps) Bwisok There was two main ways to carry on a conversation with an editor of an article. One can post comments to the Talk page of the article. In this case Talk:Cathy Luchetti. That's ideal if your question is about the article and/or you think other editors of the article might be interested. The other main approach is to post on the talk page of the editor, as you have done. The second approach makes more sense if the question isn't about the article itself, or in cases whether an editor might be editing an article but misses the query in their watchlist. For example, Sarah will see that you added a question to the article talk page if she has the article on her watchlist (which she probably does) and if she sees it in her watchlist. I don't know about her watchlist, but I have over 8000 items on my watchlist, and that's only because I went through and clear out 4000 the other day, so I am certainly missing edits if they are only in my watchlist. Different editors have different preferences, so of course when Sarah gets a moment,s he can share what her personal preference is, I'm trying to give some general advice.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 18:31, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
- (tps) To answer your specific question, Sarah is the editor who added the maintenance templates at the top of the article. It is my experience that many new editors misunderstand the orphan tag, the other one is less apt to be misunderstood. She is in the best position to explain exactly why she added them, but I'll be happy to help if you have specific questions.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 18:36, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
Am I missing something?
OK - I'm quite new at this stuff, but I'm puzzled by the deletion of all external links but the official one on the Ordnance Survey article. I agree some of them appear non-functional, but others take you to sites that are (a) relevant,(b) would take a long time to find any other way and (c) are gold dust to anyone interested in maps, particularly OS maps. At first I assumed you worked for the OS (I know better now). I really feel as though as though I'm speaking out of turn on this, but thought I should ask - even if it's so I get the obvious pointed out to me. (Incidentally, my inclination would be to try to track down the correct link for some of the broken ones - I've just been doing that for National Historic Fleet, Core Collection.) Thanks. Surprise deletion
I surprised with the deletion of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2014 Formula One season cars as no consensus to delete and no policy reason given for delete. Please leave me a copy of article somewhere to work on more. Best, Freimütig (talk) 07:14, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not seeing a consensus to delete either. I am quite ready to take this to WP:DRV but userfication and improvement are always a preferable option so that drama can be minimised. There's obviously going to be lot more to say as the 2014 cars are revealed and start racing and so the article is likely to get much better. The first race is scheduled for 16 March 2014 and so the current draft is naturally quite tentative. But, per WP:CRYSTAL, "Predictions, speculation, forecasts and theories stated by reliable, expert sources or recognized entities in a field may be included," Warden (talk) 08:04, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hi to both of you. Closing of AfD's isn't based necessarily on "consensus," it's based on argument and those who close AfD's should base their decisions on just that, IMHO. Feel free to review Wikipedia:AFD#How_an_AfD_discussion_is_closed. Previous deletions of similar articles by the authors (due to lack of material and content in articles, etc), crystal ball, and etc lead to my decision. But, if you feel I made a mistake, no offense is taken, go for it taking it to DRV. I most likely won't participate in the decision as to let others weigh in (and I don't have any investment in this article at this time despite my interest and enjoyment in Formula 1) It's just the deletion of an article, not the end of the world, and if I Make one mistake out of 200000 AfD's then my ratio isn't too bad. I'm happy to userfy, as I'm happy to do so for anyone. Thanks for coming by. SarahStierch (talk) 15:42, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
