Five-Timers Club

For some reason you keep deleting my addition to the page. This is important information. The names I added are the only 6 people that can become Five-Timers at this point. Anyone reading the page would be curious to know who might be next. These 6 people have all hosted four times. I cited a webpage that was previously sourced to this page as proof.

Multiple editors have objected to its inclusion and you have been asked to discuss it on the talk page and try to get consensus. Also, even if consensus were to include the content, the heading "Future Five Timers" is inappropriate because there's no way to know if any of them will ever host again. Btw, the source you're using (snl.jt.org/guest) is not reliable and cannot be used. Interestingly, someone started a talk page thread about that source last year. But the problem is not about sourcing or speculation, as you think. It is simply about whether the content is worthy of inclusion in the article. You will need to get consensus on the article's talk page, so please stop continually adding the contact after other editors have objected to it. Btw, there was a discussion between two editors about this on the article's talk page in November. Perhaps there are enough editors who will agree that four-timers should be included; those who think it would be interesting and important enough to know who's one show away from making the list. On the removal of categories from redirects

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I restored your removal of a valid category Category:Noise reduction from redirect Telefunken telcom c4. Some people seem to assume that categories and inter-wiki links were not allowed on redirect pages, while in fact they are and we should categorize redirects much more than we do at present (where it makes sense, of course). A common example are the various R template categories, but categories on redirect pages are also needed to make an article show up in the same or different category listing(s) under different subject titles (so that readers find it under the name they look for). Telefunken telcom c4 is a perfect example for this.

I haven't checked your other recent edits, but if you removed categories from other similar redirects as well, please restore them yourself. They serve a purpose. Greetings. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 20:09, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

Your removal of "the late" from numerous articles

Would you care to explain how "the late" is an honorific? It's not a style with regards to manner of address nor is it a title for a person. It's standard convention in English to reference a deceased person X as "the late" X (as you well know by the all the articles you have unilaterally removed "the late" from) but that doesn't make it an honorific by any definition I know of.

Furthermore, let's say you're right, MOS:HONORIFIC says "Where an honorific is so commonly attached to a name that the name is rarely found in English reliable sources without it, it should be included. For example, the honorific may be included for "Father Coughlin" (currently at Charles Coughlin) and Mother Teresa." The late is very commonly attached to the names of the deceases, again as you well know from all the instances from which you removed it from. As it is standard convention, English reliable sources do indeed prefix the names of the deceased with "the late" and as such MOS:HONORIFIC doesn't apply here. You can't make that judgment call to say that it's an "effective" honorific. It either is or isn't. I don't know of any convention or standard or even any professional writer that restricts usage of "the late" to only those they have positive feelings for.

TV Broadcast sections

Hey Trivialist. Those "International broadcast" tables bug the crap out of me as well, but I'm not sure if just deleting them is the best answer. Whenever I come across them I just rewrite them to only include English-language broadcasts, sources (if any otherwise tag the section), and the dates (all as per MOS:TV. It takes a few minutes but isn't that difficult. Of course you are under no obligation to do that work it's just it would be nicer. I'm not familiar with the show but the info being changed looks dubious. I noticed that you have worked to cleanup the article. I am suspicious of this editor based on his edits to List of Titus episodes which are definitely incorrect and possibly a hoax, as I noted on his talk page, but don't have enough info to back up my feeling of falsification of info in Elmo's World. regarding wikipedia's Manwin page

I think "adult entertainment" in this context is a weasel word

The use of weasel words to avoid making an outright assertion is a synonym to tergiversate.

I think the term "adult entertainment" should be changed to sex trade or sex industry. The sex trade consists of businesses which either directly or indirectly provide sex-related products and services. The sex industry is the industry formed of commercial enterprises which employ sex workers. What they offer is called adult entertainment, as it comprises a number of forms of entertainment not considered suitable for children. Therefore, adult entertainment is something offered by the sex industry. By saying that they are an adult entertainment company, they make it seem that the pornography is something offered by the adult entertainment industry. This is the opposite of what it really means. Furthermore, on wikipedia, searching adult entertainment redirects to the page sex industry.

However, if you think that adult entertainment and sex industry refer to different things, I suggest to write it like this: Manwin is a company that sells adult entertainment and that is part of the sex industry.

Concerning replacing the words porn by pornography, porn is considered an informal word for pornography I think that being informal about a term like this is a way to make it look more acceptable. Also, what is the problem with using the formal word?

Playing hard to get

As a operation that tries to protect the bulk of the internet mail users from pointless spam they most likely suffer from some measure of attacks. Some of the attacks are probably email based to which end they seem to have resorted to removing meaningful contact information from thir web site and the public sphere. They are also mostly indifferent to the problems caused by false positive flagging of legitemite and conforming servers on their PBL lists when their policies conflict with those of other organisations like Rackspace, AWS at Amazon and others that are not prepared or able to manage their static IP address space more dilligently as demanded by Spamhaus.

I don't think it's self promoting. Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

I know that it is non-free, it says on an image page! All images in Who Framed Roger Rabbit article are non-free, they are fair use! Like the ones you just deleted from a bunch of articles without much thought that i tried to save... Non-free content can be used in articles only if:

1. Its usage would be considered fair use in United States copyright law and also complies with the Non-free content criteria;
2. It is used for a purpose that cannot be fulfilled by free material (text or images, existing or to be created); and
3. It has a valid rationale indicating why its usage would be considered fair use within Wikipedia policy and US law.
