Lord Chaitanya knows everything that happens in all three phases (past, present, and future, of time. He knows that in the future some demoni people will serve Lord Advaita.

Text 123

They will refer to Lord Advaita by the name "Shri Krishna". In this way they will reject the words of the true Vaishnavas.

Text 124

These sinners will thus disobey the devotees who affirm that Advaita is "the greatest Vaishnava".

Text 125

Many persons will consider themselves the followers of Lord Advaita, but they will not have the power to see how in the future they will be punished.

Text 126

Lord Chaitanya, the crest jewel of they who know everything, knew all this. Therefore He did something to try to stop this from happening.

Text 127

By punishing His mother, Lord Chaitanya showed the result that comes from offending Lord Advaita or any other Vaishnava.

Text 128

No one can protect a person who has offended a Vaishnava.

Text 129

Therefore one should avoid persons who offend Vaishnava.

Text 130

One should avoid an offender, even if the offender is otherwise very qualified. A little association with an offender will make one fall down.

Text 131

Who has the power to understand why the Lord gives punishment? By punishing His mother, He taught everyone.

Text 132

Anyone who blasphemes they who use the word `Vaishnava" to address Lord Advaita will be punished. He will perish.

Text 133

Lord Chaitanya is theSupreme Personality of Godhead, the master of all. To be called His follower is very great praise.

Text 134

Without any intention to deceive, Lord Chaitanya openly said that Lord Nityananda is the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself.

Text 135

By Lord Nityananda's mercy I know Lord Chaitanya. By Lord Nityananda's mercy I know the Vaishnavas.

Text 136

By Lord Nityananda's mercy offenses are destroyed. By Lord Nityananda's mercy one attains devotion to Lord Vishnu.

Text 137

Blasphemy directed to Lord Nityananda's servants never enters my mouth. Day and night I happily sing Lord Chaitanya's glories

Text 138

I carefully serve Lord Nityananda's devotees. Lord Chaitanya is the life and wealth of Lord Nityananda's servants.

Text 139

A person who has only a little good fortune will not become Lord Nityananda's servant, for Lord Nityananda's servant is able to see Lord Chaitanya.

Text 140

Anyone who hears this story of Lord Visvarupa becomes a servant of the limitless Supreme Personality of Godhead. He feels that Lord Nityananda is his very life.

Text 141

Lord Nityananda and Lord Visvarupa do not have different bodies. This Mother Saci knew. Some other great souls also knew.

Text 142

Glory to Lord Nityananda, who takes shelter of Lord Chaitanya! Glory, glory to Lord Nityananda, who is thousand-faced Ananta Sesha!

Text 143

O Lord Nityananda, O king of Gauda-desa, glory to You! Who can attain Lord Chaitanya without first attaining Your mercy?

Text 144

Anyone who loses Lord Nityananda will not be happy in this life.

Text 145

Will I some day see Lord Chaitanya, Lord Nityananda, and their associates all thogether in one place?

Text 146

Lord Chaitanya is my master. With great faith and hope I meditate on Him within my heart.

Text 147

I bow down before Lord Advaita's feet. I pray that he will always be dear to me and that He will always stay in my thoughts.

Text 148

The two moons Shri Krishna Chaitanya and Shri Nityananda are my life and soul. I, Vrindavana dasa, sing the glories of Their feet.

Blog: Reality Talk

Welcome!

Hello Brian, and welcome to Wikipedia. Re: the encyc. Frobozzia : more Zork information is a good thing! But it should be in the form of neat, structured encyclopedia articles, not random links to original sources. It will be excellent to have the original in Wikisource, and to have articles about Encyclopedia Frobozzia, the Zork Universe, etc.

That is, if someone searches for "Belwit" or "Belwit Flathead", they would automatically be redirected to the actual entry about Belwit Flathead in the Wikisource EF article

Redirection to original content is not our goal. When someone searches for these terms, they should not find a stub-article, or an original-source article (Wikipedia is not the place for original content), but a contextualized discussion of, say, Belwit Flathead. That would not be in an article devoted solely to B.F., but in a broader article with enough depth to mature into a good read, and with internal links to other Zork and EF content.

Cheers, (and looking forward to a wikisource update) +sj+ 20:28, 11 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Hi Brian,

Just to let you know that the Featured Picture Image:Minstrel PosterBillyVanWare edit.jpg is due to make an appearance as Picture of the Day on April 8, 2008. If you get a chance, you can check and improve the caption at Template:POTD/2008-04-08. howcheng {chat} 18:52, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please take a look at this. Best regards. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 14:00, 13 April 2008 (UTC) Stan[reply]

A couple of misplaced ships from the Big Blow of 1913.

This wreck is listed as being proximate to Sturgeon Point Light. However, I found this on line, which indicates that it sank near Harbor Beach, Michigan.[1] 7&6=thirteen (talk) 19:52, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Stan[reply]

I've personally concluded that the McGean went down just east of Harbor Beach, Michigan. See what I wrote at Sturgeon Point Light, which contains references. I respectfully suggest that this be cleaned up in this article.7&6=thirteen (talk) 00:24, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Stan[reply]

Isaac M. Scott wreck is listed as being proximate to Sturgeon Point Light. However, the location of the wreck as described in the following article seems to contradict that.[2] It states that mariners made certain assumptions about the likely direction of the vessel, and had wrongly guessed where it went down. It states: "In 1976, the wreck of the Scott was discovered at 175 feet about six to seven miles northeast of Thunder Bay Island. The vessel is upside down and half buried in the mud." 7&6=thirteen (talk) 19:55, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Stan[reply]

I've personally concluded that the Scott went down 7 miles northeast of Thunder Bay Island. See what I wrote at Sturgeon Point Light, which contains references. I respectfully suggest that this be cleaned up in this article.7&6=thirteen (talk) 00:25, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Stan[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:MontyPythonHolyGrailCastShot.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:MontyPythonHolyGrailCastShot.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 14:28, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:American_Civil_War_Theaters.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:09, 22 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kelly hi! 06:09, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:AtLastthe1948ShowCast.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:AtLastthe1948ShowCast.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 10:37, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm proposing a merger on an article you worked on. Since the shelf clouds and roll clouds are subset of the arcus clouds, they should be integrated into the later article. This would make a more complete article instead of splitting the information among three articles. Anwer in Talk:arcus cloud.

Respect Thread Conversions

I'm looking for folks to help convert Respect Threads to wiki formatting on Project Fanboy: WikiFans. Respect Threads, showcase scans of feats performed by comic book characters and have gained an audience on several comic book message boards. A few other wiki editors and myself are trying to convert them from the unprofessional look of a bunch of posts on a message board to the formatting common with WikiMedia wiki's. To view an example of what we're doing, here is a link to Respect Silver Surfer.

I was wondering if you might have time to contribute your comic book knowledge and/or scans of comic book characters performing feats, and help us out with our Respect Articles project?Millennium Cowboy (talk) 02:24, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Gallery of 1913 Great Lakes storm images/Cleveland images, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I was over in Germany and visited most of the concentration camps. The ground i stood on was gravel like material but was bones of the living flesh of the final solution.

I actually cried when i saw the devistation, and the stench was still evident in the air and in the chamber courters.

For all the humans that indured the unthinkable, their souls are more at peace than any of our souls will ever be. When my time comes to pass on, i hope to meet these blessed souls.

FPC Result Template

Hi Brian,

I see you were instrumental in creating Template:FPCresult.

Just a question you may be able to help with. On the talkpage Template talk:FPCresult it says "The bot will assume that anything without the leading keyword Image: means that the picture was not promoted". I'm not sure what the bot mentioned actually does, or even why the template is necessary, so perhaps you can provide some information.

With the change of pictures to have the lead word File rather than Image, how should they be closed? Will there be any problems with discrepant names being used, or a problem if people close using File rather than Image?

See for example Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/File:Alstroemeria aurantiaca.jpg, where File:Alstroemeria aurantiaca.jpg has been closed with {{FPCresult|Promoted|Image:Alstroemeria aurantiaca.JPG}}, or conversely Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/The Dakota, 1890 where the closer has used the File leader.

Thanks for any input you can give, --jjron (talk) 14:57, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks anyway. AllyUnion hasn't edited since a single edit in November and before that not since May, so I'd tend to say he's MIA, which is why I thought I'd try you first. May have a bit more of a look into it. --jjron (talk) 11:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just wished to clarify that I wasn't conceding that her position could be justified as plausible, no matter how we interpret it. I'll try harder to refrain from calling her crackers and what not. I can do it. I can stop calling Rand bonkers in the interests of civility. I vow to no longer distract from the discussion by calling her bonkers, crackers, and the like. Long ago you made the first version of the List of members of the National Academy of Sciences, as a table. I now want to do the same for the National Academy of Engineering. Did you prepare it manually or use a template of some sort? I'm prepared to do it by search and replace in an external editor from the sectional lists, but I hope there's an easier way. A tag has been placed on Template:Campaignbox Operations near Saint Mark's requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Orphaned non-free media (File:Arrested Development - Rita.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Arrested Development - Rita.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Proposed deletion of Alphos

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Alphos, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

I own several unabridged dermatology texts and cannot find a reliable secondary source for this content.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. kilbad (talk) 20:03, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Kermit0918.ogg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Kermit0918.ogg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:59, 21 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 14:59, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:BroochAquamarinePlatinumDiamonds.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Lock icon.gif

Hi Brian0918. Back in 2005 you uploaded File:Lock icon.gif . It is not clear from its image description page if you are the author of that image, or just uploaded it as a copy since it is the lock icon used by the Wikimedia projects. And in case you didn't make that image, how did you know what license to put on it?

The reason I would like to know is that I am going to copy that image to Commons, so I would like to have the right data on the image description page there. (I use that image in the {{sec link auto}} template. And my templates tend to be copied to many of the other Wikimedia projects, so the image needs to be available on Commons.)

If/when you have answered or simply updated that image page, could you poke me on my talk page?

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Robert Aldred requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Abductive (reasoning) 05:33, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Angelici

Hello! Regardless of the Cyclopedia source, this is extremely dubious information. There were no chivalric orders in the Western sense in Byzantium, and titles such as those supposedly used where never in use in the Byzantine Empire. A 1728 source is also not the most reliable guide on historical issues. As I have written on the talk page, this appears to be this order, which does claim Byzantine heritage but has no recorded history before the 16th century. The article should be redirected & merged with the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George, with a proper explanation that its founding myth is exactly that, at the very least. File permission problem with File:New york police department car-2.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:New york police department car-2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. IngerAlHaosului (talk) 15:10, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Robert Wadlow at 10, Edwardsville Intelligencer (Edwardsville, Illinois), 1928 March 17.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Robert Wadlow at 10, Edwardsville Intelligencer (Edwardsville, Illinois), 1928 March 17.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 13:58, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Darryl Wright has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RL0919 (talk) 23:16, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Lester H. Hunt has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

Poorly sourced and with no indication of the subject's notability.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
