Hi Bogic! If you're interested, please check the Ukraine portal for current work in progress on Ukraine related articles or for areas requiring further attention. You can announce the new articles you create at Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements board, and please make sure to add this board to your watchlist. Ласкаво просимо!

To note, I've created a new category (Category:Heroes of Ukraine instead of the category you made earlier today..) On Wikipedia, we write Ukraine without "the" so I've removed it from the title. Anyway, Merry Christmas to you if you celebrate it! —dima/talk/ 00:05, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Viacheslav Aliabiev

Hi, as this is the English-language Wikipedia, we use English-language name forms. Therefore the article on Viacheslav Aliabiev should be located there, not at Vyacheslav Alyabyev. Regards, GiantSnowman 14:03, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see this happened to Alexei Mikhailichenko as well. I've undone that one too. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 17:31, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Bogic! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 714 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Cristian Irimia - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Tomáš Bruško - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

A tag has been placed on Volodymyr Salkov requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. next time you do a move like you did with Aliaksandr Hleb you should check the templates applied to the article and change those too accordingly. Kiagla (talk) 18:49, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!

Hi Bogic, at first, I want to thank you for your excellent contributions in the lists of foreign players in Ukraine. I am a football enthusiast, and the foreign players lists are one of my favourite parts here on WP. I am very pleased that you grabbed the Ukranian list and decided to complete it. I usually get time to be present around every day here, so please feel free to ask any help you possibly need, I´ll be delighted to help you. I wanted to contact you for some time now, to tell you this, but now I have a reason to: Vučina Šćepanović. I saw you added the "Expatriate foot. in Ukraine" category, and you added him in the list as former Kryvbas player. When I started his page, I had some troubles in gathering all info on him, and I can´t find nothing to conform him in Kryvbas, or the exact season he played there. Do you have this info? It would be good to put it in the article, because the category alone (without the club info regarding Kryvbas in the text or infobox) looks just strange, and someone can accidentally remove it. Also, I wanted to ask you if you agree to add also the seasons to the List of foreign football players in Vyscha Liha, like many other lists of kind have, as seen in the Category:Lists of expatriate association football players? What you think about it? Best regards, :) FkpCascais (talk) 03:54, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem Bogic, I think the list is already correct regarding the different nationalities of players from ex-Yugoslavia, if I remember, I had already corrected them. Regarding the articles of the players, I´ll try to gather all information I can on them so we can make them articles, but have in mind that not all were famous, and some had played only in minor clubs in Serbia, or other countries. I already have some info on Aleksandar Brdjanin and Đorđe Inđić, because they played in the Serbian First League. The others had minor careers... Have in mind also that not all players need to have articles. I also made a list of all foreign players in ex-Yugoslavia (all countries), here User:FkpCascais/Sandbox, or this, only in Serbia List of foreign football players in Serbia, and there are many players to which I just wan´t make them articles... Keep in touch. Regards! :) FkpCascais (talk) 08:09, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you are right. FkpCascais (talk) 10:47, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of KLISF

A tag has been placed on KLISF requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. MfD nomination of Talk:Sasha Juričić

Talk:Sasha Juričić, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Talk:Sasha Juričić and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Talk:Sasha Juričić during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. EchetusXe 10:56, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Essendon Lions, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.ozfootball.net/ark/Clubs/E/EssendonLionsDH.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) VWBot (talk) 20:02, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Essendon Lions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. mhking (talk) 22:15, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing!HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:29, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, just giving notice that the above and similar categories have been nominated for deletion. Policy on WP:FOOTY is that triple intersections like this are examples of overcategorisation, ie Russian expatriate footballers or Expatriate footballers in Russia are fine, but Spanish expatriate footballers in Russia is not. Premature Ukrainian football biography stubs

Greetings! Two or more stub types which you created have been nominated for renaming or deletion at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type most likely doesn't meet Wikipedia requirements for a stub type, through failure to meet standards relating to the name, scope, current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals! Thanks for uploading File:FC Alga.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Template:Football in East Germany

I'm at a bit of a loss as to why you created a new template rather then modifing and possibly renaming the old one. I have tried to merge and modify the Template:Football in East Germany with the old one and made the old one a redirect. Usually, on Wikipedia, we don't just create a new article if we think the old one needs changes, we change the existing one! Calistemon (talk) 23:56, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Where did you get the information on the U-23 team? Ukraine does not have such a team. Olympic team is based mainly on the U-21 with some amendments, however it is mainly the U-21 or Youth (Molodizhna) team. And where did you get the nickname? That looks more like simply the Ukrainian definition of the team. I propose to merge the Ukrainian U-21/U-23. None of the references you provided indicate the existence of such a team and often it coincides with U-21 team. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 19:36, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Now, Ukraine hasn't U-23 team, but if U-21 qualify in the next tournament to the finals (In June 2011) it will be such a team, just like at the Olympic Games are the national U-23 teams. See Category:European national under-23 association football teams. Bogic (talk) 20:57, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Right. However the keyword here is now which qualifies the article as a speculation that did not take place. The creation of such a team in Europe is uncommon in comparing to the South-American teams, because in South America there are 10 countries and in Europe - 50+, which undermines the need for creation of such team if it will not last long due to high possibility of failed qualification for Olympics. Still even if Ukraine will miraculously qualify for the Olympics in the Great Britain, it is going to be the same Youth team only may be amendment with some more experienced players. The article that you created for the U-23 is a direct copy of the U-21 article with an invented nickname and fully unsupported. Please, give me a better reason for the article rather than a fact of future possibility for creation of such team. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 21:42, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bogic - your recent creation, {{Northern Mariana Islands-stub}} has been deleted. If you'd proposed it at WP:WSS/P, as explained at WP:Stub, you'd have been told that we already have a perfectly adequate {{NorthernMarianas-stub}} which covers the islands, and also that the name of your new template was contrary to stub type naming conventions. In future, please consider proposing new templates first so that they can be vetted! Grutness...wha? 23:40, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ishdorj Otgonbayar has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. We noticed though that when you edited Foussball Tournoi an der Stad Lëtzebuerg, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Esch (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

City categories

Hi Bogic, I see you are creating categories for cities in Uruguay. The one for Salto I will let be, as it is the second biggest city and it is quite probable that in the future more than just two articles will become part of it. But for Paysandu there is only the article of the city itself and it is not a good idea to create categories for just one article. I am not sure what categorization scheme you have in mind, but please do not create one-article categories, as they may have to be removed. Thank you. Hey Bogic

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:47, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Past Curaçao managers

Hello, I am not going to edit war with you, but what you are doing is incorrect. You have set the flag for Etienne Sillee for 2005 2007 to Curaçao. That country didn't exist until 2010 as a political entity. The nationality should still be set to Netherlands Antilles, which was the country Curaçao belonged to before 2010. That portion of the list also refers to the managers of the Netherlands Antilles, of which Curaçao is the direct successor. You also removed Pedro Celestino Dacunha (1957–1965), Wilhelm Canword (1973) and Wilhelm Canword (1988) from past managers which should not have been removed. You need to add those managers back and fix the flags to represent the correct nationality at the time. (Subzzee (talk) 10:23, 8 November 2014 (UTC))[reply]
