The correct place to request an upload would be at [[WP:Files for upload]]. If you make a request there I'll take a look at it. Please also include what articles you want it on and where. Welcome—ask questions about how to use or edit Wikipedia! (Am I in the right place?)

    Spinnaker Software South Africa

We have picked up a Spinnaker Software UK on your system, which is exactly the same as our name "Spinnaker Software". Our question is what would be the best way to update / add ‘Spinnaker Software (South Africa)’, a different company with the same name to the existing content on the current ‘Spinnaker Software Wikipedia page’

Regards David Geldenhuys Marketing Executive Spinnaker Software. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 154.70.210.218 (talk) 08:01, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you can show that your company meets Wikipedia's minimum standards of WP:Notability then you can request an article on Spinnaker Software (South Africa) at WP:Requested articles, or create a draft at Draft:Spinnaker Software (South Africa). Because of your WP:Conflict of interest, it would be better if someone else could create the draft, but if you decide to do it yourself than you are required to disclose your WP:PAID connection. The new content should not be added to the existing article, but, if the new article on your company is accepted, then the old article could possibly be renamed to Spinnaker Software (USA), and an entry for the new article could be added at Spinnaker (disambiguation). Table header view

There is a new option in "Preferences" that reads, "Make sure that headers of tables remain in view as long as the table is in view". I have enabled it, yet it does not work on Firefox (my primary browser), but does on Chrome. Is anything being done about this? --Kailash29792 (talk) 11:00, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Hi Kailash29792. I would suggest posting to Wikipedia:Village pump (technical). Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 11:53, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That option now has a note that says "(Requires Safari or Chrome)". --David Biddulph (talk) 12:37, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Submit page

I previously created a page and edited it. However due to problems with my references formatting, the submission was declined. I have edited the references to conform with the format though I can no longer see the submit option. Kindly help.

I would also like to change the page title to Eke U. Eke. Kindly assist.

The page I would like to resubmit is as below. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Eke_Ugbaga_Eke

Bashir Khanbhai MEP 1999 to 2004

Please can you ensure that the following information is added to your data on Bashir Khanbhai MEP:-

    1. Bashir Khanbhai was registered as a resident at 22 Ipswich Road, Norwich as this was the residence of Mr & Mrs Pollok with whom Mr Khanbhai stayed whenever he was In the constituency. MR & Mrs Pollok paid the extra Council tax to register him in this way and Mr Khanbhai's name appears on the Electoral Register for that period he was in office. Therefore, the allegation made against him about his residential address in Norwich was WRONG and totally unjustified!

    2. Mr Khanbhai was at first de-listed by the Conservative Party. He appealed and was represented by a London barrister. The appeal was heard by the full Candidates Committee of the Conservative Party and they overturned a decison to de-list taken by three members earlier. Mr Michael Howard, the leader of the Conservative Party at the time declared that the Committee's decision was final and he released his statement to the national media stating that: "Mr Khanbhai was retsored to the List of Candidates to fight the European Election of June 2004".

    3. Mr Khanbhai's website www.bashirkhanbhai.co.uk was put on the internet in 2004 and remains UNCHALLENGED by the Conservative Party to this day. This website states clearly how the Conservative Party treated Mr Khanbhai who had done nothing wrong whatsoever.

    4. The European Parliament conducted its own enquiry and found no reason to take any action against Mr Khanbhai as he had done nothing that contravened European Parliament or European Union legislation or code of practice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.20.38.199 (talk) 11:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Probably belongs at Talk:Bashir Khanbhai instead of here and needs references before it is used. RJFJR (talk) 14:16, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Hello

Please change the references on this page from 'Velcro' to 'VELCRO (R) brand solutions' as the current text as it stands is a misuse of the VELCRO (R) Brand trademark.

Many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.148.166.152 (talk) 15:28, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, like a lot of publications Wikipedia has its own house style. Trademarks are one of those things where, in general, we ignore styling demands of the trademark and use normal formatting. See MOS:TM for details. - X201 (talk) 15:43, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Additional: Just a polite piece of advice. We are all volunteers here. Making terse legal style demands like those here and at Talk:Hook and loop fastener don't tend to go down too well. Try talking to people like they're human, you'd be surprised at the results. - X201 (talk) 16:05, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
He won't be too surprised, since we aren't going to change instances of "'Velcro" to "VELCRO (R) brand solutions" no matter how nice he is. Solutions, heh. Yeah let's do that. Herostratus (talk) 06:58, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can I remove pages from my watchlist based on when I add them?

    Hello!

I have just started to use Huggle to revert vandalism. However, I have noticed that it has added every page I edited to my watchlist when I do not want them to because it would be too hard to follow. I have already turned this feature off in Huggle itself but now would like to remove all the pages that were added to my watchlist this past hour. Can I do so or not? It'd be really helpful and will save me time.

    Best, ««« SOME GADGET GEEK »»» (talk) 22:47, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

To the best of my knowledge, the watchlist isn't viewable by "date added". One possible solution for you, though it may be a bit of work depending on how many pages you've edited, is to view your contributions and remove the pages that you've edited in the last hour that you don't want. †dismas†|(talk) 22:52, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You could deactivate "Add pages and files I edit to my watchlist" (etc.) under preferences-watchlist. When editing manually, you then have to (remember to) mark the article to be added to the watchlist. With "Edit raw watchlist", you can discard articles in large numbers (although browser and/or backend may hickup with huge lists). Under "Edit watchlist", you can clear the list entirely. If Huggle (or any other tool) puts a useful ID into the entry, then some tool may work, but I have not found any yet. Help:Watchlist#Alternatives to watchlists/Help:Public watchlist may be useful if you accept a static list with manual maintenance. --Mopskatze (talk) 03:01, 14 April 2017 (UTC) P.S.: or... you use a sockpuppet for Huggle.[reply]

Is it possible to easily identify all uses of a particular word in an article?

If I want to see all instances of the word "rock" in an article, instead of combing it line by line is it possible to say have them all highlighted so they stand out and I can clearly see where they are? 2.102.184.154 (talk) 02:12, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ctrl + f? Most browsers have a find feature built into them. Chrome will even do exactly as you want and highlight the words in the text. --Majora (talk) 02:20, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rm category Category:AfD debates relisted 3 or more times from closed debates

    Should I or shouldn't I? L3X1 (distant write) 02:49, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    • Hello L3X1, could you clarify your query please? I might be missing the obvious query here. (Sorry). Lourdes 03:17, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Lourdes. When a debate is relisted for the 3rd time, the category Category:AfD debates relisted 3 or more times is added. I keep an eye on that cat, to help make debates aren't languishing about for weeks on end. While patrolling, I tend to remove the category from closed debates, so as to not clutter up the category. After doing that 3 or 4 times, I began to wonder if this was the proper thing to do. L3X1 (distant write) 03:22, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If you like, but surely a bot does it pretty quickly? It's never been a problem and the category doesn't clog up with closed debates, so a bot must be on the job. Herostratus (talk) 03:26, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok then, thank you both. L3X1 (distant write) 03:46, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If your command of English doesn't allow you to understand the error message which told you that there was a line feed character in the "| quote" parameter of the reference, perhaps you could think again as to whether you ought to be editing the English Wikipedia? --David Biddulph (talk) 11:54, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
WP:BITE much? Plenty of native English speakers with years of experience editing Wikipedia don't always undertand the error messages generated by cite errors. Someone made a mistake and asked for help fixing it - that is to be commended, not snidely dismissed. DuncanHill (talk) 11:59, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That comment was not WP:BITE. It is racially exclusive and does not belong at WP or anywhere else. It actually should be called out for what it implies as representative of the WP community. Maineartists (talk) 16:45, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Vertical bar in infobox

I'm trying to update an infobox that includes a url. The url includes a vertical bar (|) which causes issues with the infobox since | is a special character for parameters in infoboxes. Is there a way to escape the |? Basically, I want the value to include a |. Ahwiv (talk) 13:19, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Civil Rights Act of 1991 and no I didn't try nowiki tag, thought it would not make it linkable. Thanks for the thought and I will try it in the future. Thanks Ahwiv (talk) 15:14, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Have you tried encodimng the | character as %7C ? --David Biddulph (talk) 13:47, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have now, and while it did what I was asking, it also showed me the url was changed/broken, and no longer required the | so it ended up fixing 2 issues. Thanks. Ahwiv (talk) 15:14, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox reference numbers before lead section?

I'm not sure if this is a style request or a (maybe) a technical one. Recently I was looking at a page and it was quite jarring that the reference at the end of the first short sentence of the lead was [4]. This was because the page has an infobox which has three quite valid references in it. However because that infobox was a decent size, the 1,2 & 3 were considerably farther down on the page. In short nothing on the page contradicts the style guide and yet it looked weird. I *guess* my idea is that infoboxes (if placed right as almost all I've seen are) should be in the source *after* the lead in order for this not to occur. (or *maybe* that the wikicode should treat it as if it should?) If it weren't for the possiblity that this has a technical solution, I'd post at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Infoboxes. Ideas?Naraht (talk) 14:27, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The references are numbered in the order they are encountered in the source not the displayed version. The Infobox is defined before the intro paragraph so the infobox references are numbered first. There really isn't anything that can be done to tell the wiki software to number the intro first. (Theoretically you could move the infobox definition after the intro paragraph but then the infobox would start lower on the screen and the text wouldn't be in standard format.) RJFJR (talk) 16:11, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed with all of this, which is why I thought this might have to be a technical solution. (The cleanest would probably be to have infoboxes (and templates) have an argument allowing them to slide up to the top of whatever section they are in and then have infoboxes placed at the end of the section). Sounds like my next stop is the Village Pump Idea lab.Naraht (talk) 17:45, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Other Editors- Review Article

Hi there- How do I get other Editors to review the article I recently created?

Many thanks, Emily — Preceding unsigned comment added by Caspar Hornak (talkcontribs) 14:34, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Telling us what article is a good start. It's Emily Seale-Jones (Actress). I have a couple of quick comments: 19 of the references have error messages which need fixing, and the reference list appears inside a table of her films. Maproom (talk) 14:48, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've fixed the layout error so the table displays correctly. The majority of the ref. errors are to do with the access date. This needs day/month/year (or any Wiki-acceptable variation of that) and are written without 'th' 'rd' etc. I note you have signed your post here 'Emily'; if you are the subject of the article you should declare your WP:COI (please click that link) and also read WP:AUTOBIOG. Please sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 15:10, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There now exist both Draft:Emily Seale-Jones and, incorporating more recent edits, Emily Seale-Jones. I'm afraid that if I interfere I might make the mess worse. Maproom (talk) 16:07, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    I've redirected the draft. Eagleash (talk) 16:34, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Template:Verse translation

Hi, why is there such a great spacing before the verse translation in Ēostre#De_temporum_ratione? Also, the translation is not on the same height as the original. The section uses Template:Verse translation, but I couldn't find the bug there.--Hubon (talk) 16:36, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed some spaces, which has I believe improved the layout. Maproom (talk) 16:51, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Maproom: Thanks for trying, but this cannot be the true solution. There must be something wrong with the template itself. Best--Hubon (talk) 17:16, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Link problem

When clicking on the link ("This proposal") inserted in this section, why does one end up on the bottom of the linked page, although the link should actually lead to a specific (and still existing!) section? I've experienced that on German Wikipedia, too, by the way.--Hubon (talk) 16:48, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    I end up in Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)#Function_.22upright.22 when I click it... CTF83! 18:45, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not positive but I think there is a collapsed block of text above that causes this. When it loads the page it isn't collapsed yet, it figures out how far down the page to be and THEN it collapses the block and moves where things are on the page. RJFJR (talk) 19:27, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@CTF83: With your copy of the link here, meanwhile (it did work first!) the same thing SOMETIMES happens as in Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)#Function_.22upright.22 AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. ??? As maybe indicated by RJFJR, it first moves to the right section indeed, but then simply jumps down to the bottom of the page. How come???--Hubon (talk) 20:05, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
PS: By the way, now the same thing happens when I edit the linked page: after saving, the position jumps down! In find this really strange, in fact...--Hubon (talk) 20:16, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Mathematical equation sizes

First I must apologize as I am a first time user of this site. Perhaps I am not even at the right place to ask this question. I have an old I-pad and when I read math or physics articles the equations and identifying symbols are only about 1/4 the size of the words and sometimes symbols just have a blank space. I have no specific pages to point to: All of relativity or quantum mechanics will serve equally as models. I know nothing about coding. All I want to do is to enlarge the equations so they are readable and comparable in size or slightly larger than the text size. How can this be easily, easily done just from the browser? All I want to be able to do is push a few buttons-no esoteric coding possible for me. Thank you for any answers received. Great, but I would really like to increase the likelihood of my article being approved. Would a link to a Wiki-commons scan help, or is it pointless? Finishedfirst (talk) 22:10, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Where the references are obtained from (on- or offline) would not affect approval as long as they are reliable and correctly 'created'. Eagleash (talk) 22:19, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c × 2) Hi Finishedfirst. No it is not. That would be blatant copyright infringement (barring the truly rare situation that those references were released into the public domain or released under a suitably-free copyright license; this is very, very unlikely). That being said, we do not require that sources be online. Please see Wikipedia:Verifiability#Access to sources; Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Cost; and Wikipedia:Offline sources. Just do a good job in citing the sources transparently so that anyone who wished to check them would be well situated to find them, such as in a library or newspaper archive. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:11, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again Finishedfirst. I have taken a look at the article. I'm sorry but to be blunt, it is a blatant commercial; it is hagiography; it will never be accepted in its current state. Please go back and remove all the peacock language, buzz words, marketing speak, evaluative content presented in Wikipedia's voice, etc. Just the facts. No gloss. But before you do that, since its written that way, I must assume you are involved with this subject, so please comply with our mandatory disclosure requirements for editing on subjects in which you have a financial stake.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:25, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am actively removing the peacock language. What would be considered buzz words and market speak. I have been adding wikilinks to any type of words related to the jewelry industry and I have tried to source the evaluative content as much as possible. Would it be possible for you to point out some examples please, I would like to get this approved the first time around. Finishedfirst (talk) 23:04, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Start with dumping crap like, "Over the years he has made huge footprints in the jewelry design industry with his innovations in diamond cutting and setting." That sort of language has no place here. We seek a tone of fact-centered neutral sobriety, using hard information drawn from reliable sources. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:15, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have linked the reference to a page which contains various articles in a search result. Select the one you want to add as a reference and redo the reference appropriately. Eagleash (talk) 22:14, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

please help if you can I have failed again. I added in a line and did the date separately...but no good ref number 24 is still all wrong. I will just leave in there rather than seriously stuff it all up. 2001:8003:4F76:A00:8849:8B3B:9DE0:166A (talk) 22:37, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This (click the blue link) is the page you have linked to. I do not know which of those articles listed there is the one you want to use as a reference. If you can identify it, click on the link to it from the search results, then add the title to the title parameter, add the correct url and add the date to the date parameter. Eagleash (talk) 22:47, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice. The article on the page which is the ref. has only the date - same as the one given in the title. There is no way of knowing the real title of the original article or even of there was a title. Please help. So sorry. 2001:8003:4F76:A00:8849:8B3B:9DE0:166A (talk) 22:56, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is an error because you have both the date and the page information on the same parameter. date=14 April 1908 - Page 6 isn't going to work. Fix that and you'll be fine. Try to fix it first yourself, please don't say you can't without at least attempting to do so. --Majora (talk) 22:59, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The page you have linked to has several articles listed with blue links to the individual items. Which of those items contains the quote? Wikipedia should not just link to a list of search results as it is not always possible for the reader to identify the source which is what is required for verifiability. April 15

    How to address this?

I'm sure there's a better place to ask this, but I'll be damned if I know where. I was recently reverting a couple grammatically incorrect, unsourced edits on some pages relating to Japanese history when I noticed that they were both by the same user. I checked on their contributions, and there were, well, over a thousand such edits spanning back to November 2016. I believe that they are a well-meaning user for whom English is perhaps their not first language, but that is wayyy too many pages for me to possibly go through and fix myself. Although not directly related to Real ale, I like many others also drink beer from cans. I am fed-up with drinking 440ml of beer when I really want a pint. There are some beers available in 500ml cans which is half a litre, which might be OK with continental types. There are very occasionally 1 pint cans, but now we are leaving the EEC; I would like to campaign for a change to 1 pint cans as this is our traditional measure. Would anyone else agree? Recreation of a deleted page

Hi I had a page titled "Rolta India" which was deleted by the moderator due to its promotional content. I would like to make this page live again by making changes in the content that was posted earlier. Need your help in knowing how to go about this page recreation — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jovian 13 (talkcontribs) 09:47, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Really, that's just the worst way to recreate an article, especially since a lot of the things you added to the article were what made it promotional. Wikipedia is not the place to go on about "Core Competencies," "Quality Benchmarks," and "Awards / Recognition."
The best way to do it would be to:
If you follow those steps properly, there's not reason for an article to get deleted. Ian.thomson (talk) 10:10, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your feedback. I have actually done my research and made changes in the original content so that it doesn't look promotional. Have also got rid of points such as quality benchmarks and awards. Since I do not have access to the content that was deleted how do I make changes to it? Do I have to create a new page here or is there a way to access the deleted content and make changes there itself? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jovian 13 (talkcontribs) 10:41, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You can recreate from scratch. If you have a conflict of interest when editing this article, you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for the company, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the company you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Jovian 13. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Jovian 13|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Who gets the award?

In the article Ahmed Sultan Bin Sulayem, I was trying to clean up the references and noticed that at least a few of the awards attributed to Sulayem were actually awarded to DMCC (the government company he is executive chairman of). The DMCC article doesn't list any awards. Am I correct in thinking that only awards given to Sulayem himself, and not his company, should be listed? Leschnei (talk) 13:49, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

how to add a category that doesn't exist?

Hello again everybody. I am working on an article, Adaptor proteins, vesicular transport that until yesterday was a disinformative redirect. There is a notice on the page asking to have categories added to it. Unless I am missing something, appropriate categories do not exist! In a perfect world, I would categorize it as "biology" then "wikiproject Molecular and Cell Biology" then "cell biology" then "vesicular transport". I can't find appropriate categories, although being new at this I can imagine that I'm not looking at the right pages. Please advise. Thank you. JeanOhm (talk) 21:57, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@JeanOhm: You can look for categories on similar articles. WikiProject categories belong on the talk page but don't add them directly. They are added via WikiProject banners like {{WikiProject Molecular and Cell Biology}}. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:09, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@PrimeHunter: Thank you. I added the MCB banner to the talk page. However, I guess I didn't make my question clear. At the bottom of the article page there is this statement "This article has not been added to any categories. Please help out by adding categories to it so that it can be listed with similar articles." Adding the mcb banner to the talk page didn't fix that. I looked at the bottom of the AP2 adaptor complex article, and found "Categories: Membrane biology Peripheral membrane proteins Membrane protein stubs" which are poor (IMHO) categories for that page and the page I'm working on. Any other suggestions? Thank you again. JeanOhm (talk) 22:30, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I understood the question but I'm not a biologist so I didn't suggest specific categories for the article page. You can also start at a maybe too general category like Category:Cell biology and look for suitable subcategories. It doesn't have to be perfect matches. The box with "This article has not been added to any categories" is generated by {{uncategorized}} which can be removed from the source when categories are added. Stub categories are generated by stub templates and shouldn't be added directly but for example via {{Cell-biology-stub}}. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:48, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@JeanOhm: Maybe looking at categories of the Vesicular transport protein article could help...? --CiaPan (talk) 22:32, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@CiaPan: Thanks, sort of. However, that article (which I hadn't seen before) is also disinformative (another item for my "to be corrected list". I'm starting to wonder if there are any other cell biologists editing wikipedia, or if the other cell biologists are also feeling overwhelmed by all the corrections that need to be made.) and the categories aren't appropriate. JeanOhm (talk) 22:47, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@CiaPan and PrimeHunter: I found some relevant categories on other articles. Thanks again. JeanOhm (talk) 03:50, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sayyidkhaleel. According to your talk page, an administrator named Orangemike had to delete Ashraf Ali MA because it was too promotional. If you would like to create a draft of your article to try again, I would suggest going to Articles for Creation so you can create your draft, and, when you're ready, submit your draft for review to get some feedback on it. If the reviewing editor believes the article is ready, they will move the article out of draft status. If they don't think it's ready, they will let you know what mainly needs to be fixed and you will be able to fix it and resubmit it as many times as needed. While your article is a draft, it will be safe for up to six months from most reasons for deletion (the main exception to this is copyright infringement), but it will not be searchable on Google or other search engines. If you would like some more help, I suggest you visit the Teahouse, a page designed to answer the questions of newer editors like yourself. I have let Orangemike know about your question here, so he may leave some additional feedback here since he saw the page. Gestrid (talk) 05:41, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It did, but there's nothing we can do about it now, and no way to control where that site gets its material. And to answer the question "How do I remove this from the internet", looks like you can't, not easily. The site "http://deletedwiki.com" give no info, no access, and no contact information; the "about us" and "privacy policy" links just lead to "that page does not exist".
WHOIS gives the name of the site owner as "Contact Privacy Inc." so they are obviously obfuscating who they are. There are contacts given for Contact Privacy Inc. so you can write or call them. I wouldn't expect much satisfaction, but you never know. Herostratus (talk) 18:03, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) You don't. The Wikipedia help desk answer to that is that Wikipedia has little if any control about what other internet websites do. A more useful answer though is that when you try to remove information from the internet, it often ends up being counterproductive (in particular, the Wikipedia Help Desk is somewhat widely read, so posting here a link to information you want to hide as much as possible is not a great idea). If you really want to try your luck (which I advise against), a WHOIS request will not give any email address to contact the webmaster of deletedwiki.com, but it will give an address at 5005 Mitchelldale Suite #100, Houston, Texas, United States. Hi there. I have two sandboxes. I need to add some more formulas but they are fairly full now. So, I wonder if someone will set up another sandbox for me with the ending sandbox3 in the web address? I do have one more sandbox that ends with "/" but I am sort of reluctant to use it, I am not sure if it something I can use. Thanks, --AboutFace 22 (talk) 22:59, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@AboutFace 22: Actually, you can create your own sandbox. If you type in to the searchbox "User:", then your username with a "/" after it, and then whatever you want your sandbox to be called. Then, you just have to start the page. For example, if I wanted to create a sandbox, I would type in "User:RileyBugz/sandbox2". Hope that helps. Help with editing an article

Dear Wikipedia, I have written articles for Wikipedia in the past but that was a while ago, and I have forgotten how to do it. I have written a new article (Hannah Witton) that is on my talk page but I don't know how to get an editor to check it so that it can get put up on Wikipedia. Also I have a photo to go with it but I can't remember how to include it. Can someone help me? Many thanks Rawitton

    Here is the article:

Hannah Witton[edit] Hannah Witton (1919-1993) was a Sydney activist involved in the Aboriginal rights movement[1]. Hannah Witton and her husband Emil came to Australia in June 1939 as Jewish refugees from Nazi persecution in Germany. In the years following the Nazi accession to power in 1933 they had personal experience of being non-citizens in their own country. The first time they heard of the treatment of Aboriginal people was in the early forties when they read reports in the Tribune, the newspaper of the Communist Party of Australia, at the home of Rosine Guiterman [2] who looked after many refugees. The first years were very hard for them, finding their way in a new country and raising 3 children. They had always been very politically aware and by the fifties were able to become more actively involved in self-education and political activities. In the late fifties Hannah attended a NEF (New Education Fellowship) workshop at which Faith Bandler [3] spoke and this led first Hannah and later Emil to join the Aboriginal-Australian Fellowship (AAF) and to participate actively in the struggle for Aboriginal rights. They developed a close collaborative relationship and life-long personal friendship with Faith and and her husband Hans Bandler and worked together with them for many decades on a variety of Aboriginal issues. Hannah and Emil were both on the executive of the AAF and later involved in the Federal Council for the Advancement of Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders (FCAATSI) where they campaigned on issues of land rights and civil rights of Aboriginal people. This included the successful campaign against section nine of the New South Wales Aborigines Protection Act, which prohibited the sale or supply of liquor to "any aborigine or person having apparently an admixture of aboriginal blood". They attended protest meetings and visited Aboriginal reserves with the Aboriginal activist Ken Brindle, seeing first-hand how Aboriginal people lived under the provisions of this Act. The parallels between the lives of Aborigines and their own experiences living under the Nazi Judengesetze (laws applying to the Jews) were not lost on them. They were also very aware that they had become full Australian citizens only five years after their arrival in Australia from a hostile country, while full rights were still being denied to the first Australians. From its very beginning they were actively involved in FCAATSI's campaign to amend the Australian Constitution which culminated in the successful 1967 referendum. Hannah worked hard on the campaign and Emil's printing firm printed campaign material including one of the 'Yes' for Aborigines posters. Hannah and Emil also promoted the handover of executive positions to Indigenous members in the AAF and FCAATSI. Emil resigned his position as FCAATSI treasurer in 1973 and Hannah also resigned from the executive of the Aboriginal Education Council for the same reason. For the rest of their lives they continued to be involved in human rights issues and kept in contact with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander friends and activists. In 2010 Hannah Witton's work for Aboriginal Rights was commemorated by the ACT Government by the naming of a road, "Hannah Witton Lane", in the suburb of Bonner [4] Rawitton (talk) 22:40, 9 April 2017 (UTC)RawittonRawitton (talk) 22:40, 9 April 2017 (UTC) Jump up ^ Material for this article, unless otherwise referenced, is drawn from an interview with her widower Emil Witton conducted by Leanne Miller and Sue Taffe on 6 November 1996. Image

There is an 1827 painting by Jacques Raymond Brascassat that is mentioned in the Zarafa (giraffe) article. In addition to the cultural reference, the painting would provide some informational content since it depicts the animal along its historical journey from Marseilles to Paris in that year. The only online copy of the painting that I could find is from a blog (here). I don't know if this could be uploaded, since the original source of the image is unknown; however, the painting was done in 1827 and presumably would no longer be copyrighted (?). Is it possible for "somebody" to upload this? Or, is there someplace else to bring this up, or...? 2606:A000:4C0C:E200:AC43:3B49:CF5E:E4EF (talk) 00:45, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If the painting was indeed from the 19th century, then a faithful reproduction of that painting would fall under our {{PD-Art}} statute. The correct place to request an upload would be at WP:Files for upload. If you make a request there I'll take a look at it. Please also include what articles you want it on and where. I'll have to do some minor research to verify that everything is all right but it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks! --Majora (talk) 00:51, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. My attempt at an upload request is here: [2]. 2606:A000:4C0C:E200:AC43:3B49:CF5E:E4EF (talk) 01:27, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
