The Zune HD is an upcoming Portable Media Player in the Zune product family by Microsoft to be released on September 15, 2009 in 16GB and 32GB capacities. [4]
The Zune HD will be using the Tegra chip [3], allowing it to play 720p video through the optional HDMI Zune dock on a high-definition television. Otherwise content will be scaled down to 480x272 pixels on the player's screen[5]
Confirmation
The Zune HD was confirmed by Microsoft for release in Fall 2009. A trailer appeared on the Xbox Live Video Service on June 1, 2009, during the E3 2009 Microsoft Press Conference. They announced that the current Zune Marketplace and Xbox Live Video Service will be merged to create Zune Video, bringing the Zune brand to Xbox Live in 7 countries[6]; the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Ireland and Spain. It will be the first PMP with a built-in HD Radio tuner. It includes an HD video output, multi-touch OLED screen one of the best touch screen to date do to its high capacity of lighting and clear effects, Wi-Fi, and a browser based on Internet Explorer Mobile 6 optimized for multi-touch use. Capacities will include a 16GB model and a 32GB model, which come in black and platinum respectively for preorder. On September 15, customers will be able to purchase the Zune HD in five colors through Zune Originals.[8]

Web Browser
The web browser has features comparable to the Safari (web browser) for iPhone OS including pinch and stretch for zooming and page reorienation due to the built in accelerometer.[11]The browser features favorites and instant Bing search. It also has portrait and landscape keyboard modes with a bulge effect when touched.[12]
