Re: Communist Party of Czechoslovakia

It's a pleasure. :) Recently I'm working on the symbols from Eastern Bloc on Wikimedia Commons. By the way you may also find this interesting if you're interested in anthems [1]. --Ericmetro (talk) 09:37, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure about the lyrics, but I'm able to identify most current/historical national anthems by melody, except for several African countries. I used contributed to that forum a lot, and collected over 20 GB recordings of anthems with the help of the forum. :) --Ericmetro (talk) 03:54, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Sundostund

Hi, ThecentreCZ. I'm very glad to hear that I'm your favorite wikipedist, its always nice when other people appreciate your work... As for DPRK, what can I say except - its my opinion. Others may or may not agree with it, whatever they wish. Anyway, many of my political views are considered as, lets say, "unusual" by other people. I'm not bothered with it at all. I know there will always be people who will agree with me, as well as those who will disagree. Cheers! --Sundostund (talk) 13:30, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I just added your newly-created userbox supporting the reunification of Czechoslovakia to my userpage. I completely support that reunification, and I truly hope we'll see it in the near future. --Sundostund (talk) 22:45, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I guess we misunderstood each other about North Korea. I didn't changed my mind about its regime, I still support it and I don't consider it to be "fascist and anticommunist"... As for reunification of Czechoslovakia, I strongly support it, in the same way as reunification of Yugoslavia. If Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia are reunified, and connected via the Czech Corridor, that would be 1000% success not only for our nations, but for the whole Slavic world. Anyway, we'll see what future brings for all of us. --Sundostund (talk) 13:07, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Very nice my friend! :) I remembered once there was a discussion on the national anthems forum ([2]), and the word you selected matches one of the choice. By the way with a proxy software, Facebook will be accessible even when blocked here. :) I created a symbol of Socialistický svaz mládeže (File:Emblem of Socialist Youth Union of Czechoslovakia.svg), later on I'll create an article of SSM on Chinese Wikipedia.--Ericmetro (talk) 07:13, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(Just for convenience, I'm going to move your reply on my talk page back to here so our conversation is easier to follow.) So, let me be clear: these fake tags are inappropriate, regardless of the editor's behavior. I get that you are making a joke, but it's unnecessary to call further attention to this editor (or yourself). Also, even though it seems like it's OK to poke fun at blocked editors, there's no reason to be disrespectful like this, so I'll ask you to refrain from leaving these kinds of messages on blocked editors' pages. Meaning of "location" in "infobox television"

Hi ThecentreCZ. I've been watching The Walking Dead (TV series) article and have noticed that you keep trying to add "Virginia" to the infobox. The "Location(s)" parameter for Template:Infobox television is production-specific and refers to the "production location, i.e. where the show is/was shot." The parameter is not for the location where the story takes place. This is why your edits keep getting reverted by Drovethrughosts. You need to show that there is a reliable source which clearly states that the series has been or will be shot in Virginia. If you find such a source, just (1) add it in support of the "Virginia" to the infobox, OR (2) add a sentence (or two) citing the source to The Walking Dead (TV series)#Development. If you're not sure how to phrase this additional information, just be bold and add it to the article. Other editors will see the source and clean up the phrasing as needed.

Finally, for what it's worth, sometimes the meanings of template parameters can be a little confusing. I personally try to check a template's documentation page before adding any parameters just to be sure I'm using them right. Hope that helps. - Marchjuly (talk) 00:57, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically Bulgaria national football team, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Please watch the tone of your edit summaries. Edit summaries such as this are contrived personal attacks. You haven't much experience as an editor as yet, so I'll put it down to your needing to get a grasp on the learning curve. If, however, you continue to add your personal, acerbic commentary as edit summaries in lieu of informative and civil summaries, it will not bode well for you. Note, also, that you should be using edit summaries as a rule, not as an exception when you have some sort of crass comment to make. Thank you for your attention. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 22:50, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/The 50,000 Challenge

You are invited to participate in the 50,000 Challenge, aiming for 50,000 article improvements and creations for articles relating to the United States. This effort began on November 1, 2016 and to reach our goal, we will need editors like you to participate, expand, and create. See more here!

@Sundostund: Not sure about this. I know that current Prime Minister have residence in Kramář's Villa since 1998 and his office is in Straka Academy, which is residence of government since 1939, 1939-1945 (Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia), 1945-1992 (Czechoslovakia). I don't have any info about government in 1918-1939.

You are expert on this, so I'll text you here places which I know

Well, I'm not sure whether I can be called expert on this... I certainly know much about Czechoslovakia and its history, but not really about official residences – beside that the President was seated in the Prague Castle. I assumed there was a permanent residence for the Prime Minister, similar to the Castle for the President, but apparently I was wrong and the PM's seat was changed on numerous times. Anyway, I really appreciate your effort to explain this. --Sundostund (talk) 00:15, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:25, 13 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Václav Vacek has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet notability criteria. Most mentions are in passing, or of other persons named Václav Vacek.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello. I have reverted your edit again since Wikipedia reports what the sources say, and the sources can't make up their mind, some say the party is centre, others say they're centre-right. So do not change it again! - Tom | Thomas.W talk 23:10, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You = User:Klofáč?

Are you User:Klofáč? It looks to me like you are, given that you are transcluding this user's images on English Wikipedia. It would help to clear up confusion if you tagged your userpage so that I don't go deleting Klofáč's uploads as a copyright violation of your own work. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Czech Social Democratic Party, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Orange (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Party names

Please use the common English names of the parties rather than trying to change them to direct translations; in the case of the ZRS, it is known as the "Union of the Workers of Slovakia" in English (see Google Books) but not at all by the direct translation (Google Books). Cheers, Number 57 20:28, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Number 57: That translation is false, word združenie (Slovak) is of exactly meaning like rassemblement (French), used for example in National Rally (France).
It doesn't matter whether it's false; what matters is how the party is known in English, which is "Union of the Workers of Slovakia". Number 57 20:40, 18 December 2018 (UTC)`[reply]

Blind reverts

Please look at what you're actually reverting before hitting undo. You just restored a line of whitespace plus unsourced/incorrect dates of formation/dissolution to the article. Number 57 20:01, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly the category for establishment is 1923 not 1926. Secondly, the months are still unsourced. Thirdly, you're still restoring the whitespace to the article. Fourthly, calling me a "retard" is completely unacceptable and I'll be reporting you for WP:NPA unless you retract and stop reverting. Number 57 20:04, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Number 57: I am very very sorry, you are completely normal as long as you are editing tens of my edits and removing clickable names of parties. --ThecentreCZ (talk) 20:10, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A page you started (Democratic Party of Greens) has been reviewed!

Thanks for creating Democratic Party of Greens.

User:Rosguill while reveiwing this page as a part of our page curation process had the following comments:

Right now, this article's subject is on the borderline for notability. Source #1 is an interview with a party member, and thus is insufficiently independent for establishing notability. I've started discussion on the reliable sources noticeboard to determine if source #2 is reliable, and I'd encourage you to participate. If #2 is reliable, then I think it's likely that the subject is notable per WP:NEXIST, although more sources should still be provided to further concretely establish that the subject meets WP:GNG.

Notice

The file File:Flag of the Justice and Development Party (Turkey).svg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A non-free file of the party's flag is not needed per WP:NFCC#1, WP:NFCC#3a and WP:NFCC#8 because it basically provides the same encyclopedic information to the reader as File:Justice and Development Party (Turkey) logo.svg. A non-free image of the party's logo used in the main infobox seems fine for primary identification purposes; so, taking that same logo and adding it to an all-white background just to show the flag is not needed. A non-free image doesn't need to be seen per WP:FREER for the reader to understand that the party's flag is its logo added to an all-white flag.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. An emblem/logo request

Hi. I wrote it at Commons, but I also wanted to write it here: Can you design the emblem/logo of the Justice Party (Turkey, 1961-81) and upload it to Commons or Turkish Wikipedia, taking into account the flag in this photo? - Aybeg (talk) 08:00, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Directly from Wikipedia's policy on non-free logos: "It is believed that the use of low-resolution images on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, of logos for certain uses involving identification and critical commentary may qualify as fair use under the Copyright law of the United States." I did not make up that non-free logos should be low res you are simply just ignorant on the topic.

The logo that I believe is more suitable for the article is the logo featured multiple times in images on the front page of the SPD's website, the logo used on the SPD's official Facebook page and twitter profile, it is the logo used on posters and billboards and finally used at party events. Your version has less use and so I see no reason for why you are so opposed to the updating of the logo.Ec1801011 (talk) 17:05, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Vector files are low-resolution too. There is no specific main logo as defined in graphics manual of visual identity or something similar. This logo is mostly used and vectored. You should stop arguing with experienced users and doing non-sensical uploads here.
