Amit Sadh (born 5 June 1983) is an Indian actor. He is known for playing supporting roles in films such as Kai Po Che (2013), the comedy Guddu Rangeela (2015), and the political thriller Sarkar 3 (2017). He began his acting career in Star Plus' teen drama Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr, and later appeared in television reality show Bigg Boss (Hindi Season 1). He also played the role of Kshitij, a lawyer, in Shobna Desai's soap opera Durgesh Nandinii that aired on Sony Entertainment Television. Sadh made his film debut with the 2010 horror film, Phoonk 2. He appeared in Amazon Prime's web-series Breathe (2018) and its second season Breathe: Into the Shadows (2020) playing the role of Inspector Kabir Sawant.[3] In the new series Avrodh the Siege Within on Sony Liv, he plays Major Videep Singh.[4]

Early life

Sadh was born on 5 June 1983 in Delhi.[1][2] He studied at La Martiniere College, Lucknow.[2] Sadh's father Ram Chandra Dogra, was a national-level hockey player. Sadh lost his father when he was only 16 years old.[5]

His family home is in Punjab. At the age of 21, he left home and moved to Mumbai.[6]

Career

Television career (2002–2008)

Sadh's first major role was in Neena Gupta production's Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr, where he portrayed the character of Aditya. He then starred in the series Kohinoor.[7] He appeared as a contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss.[8] Sadh participated in the original seasons of Nach Baliye and Fear Factor.

Film career (2010–present)

Amit Sadh has played key supporting roles in several significant movies. He worked in Kai Po Che! (2013) playing the role of a priest's son alongside Amrita Puri, Rajkummar Rao and Sushant Singh Rajput. In Sultan he played the role of a businessman alongside Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma. He appeared in Gold as Raghubir Pratap Singh (based on real life character on K. D. Singh Babu) alongside Akshay Kumar and the role of Shakuntala Devi's son-in-law in the eponymous film of that name.

He appears as Inspector Kabir Sawant in the web series Breathe and its sequel Breathe into the shadows.
