^Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They acknowledge several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.
BTS have attained 15 Guinness World Records, including for the most Twitter engagements[8] and for the most viewed video/music video on YouTube in 24 hours with "Dynamite".[9] They have consecutively won Billboard's Top Social Artist award since 2017, and are the only K-pop group to win the Top Duo/Group award at the Billboard Music Awards.[10] They are also the only K-pop group to win the Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock and Favorite Social Artist awards at the American Music Awards.[11] BTS have also placed on the Time 100 in 2019, and are the youngest ever recipients of the South Korean Order of Cultural Merit.[12] They became the first K-pop act to ever be nominated for a Grammy Award in November 2020, when their song "Dynamite" received a nomination for Best Pop/Duo Group Performance at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.[13]
