History[edit]

For a detailed history see Case Corporation History.

The origins of Case dates to 1842, when Jerome Increase Case (born in 1819) created the J I Case Company. He was the first American to create a steam engine for agricultural use.[citation needed] His company evolved into the Case Corporation, which merged with New Holland in 1999 to become CNH Global. The combined CNH is in the top three in the world of both construction and agricultural equipment.[citation needed]
