Loni is a town and a nagar panchayat in Ghaziabad district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh,(NCR).
Geography
Loni is located at 28°45′N 77°17′E / 28.75°N 77.28°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 283 metres (866 feet). Housing Development Schemes in Loni are controlled by GDA (Ghaziabad Development authority). Some GDA approved colonies are best to live in Loni. Famous colonies in Loni include Balram Nagar,Lal bagh, Khanna Nagar, Ram Park, Rameshwar Park, SLF Ved Vihar and DLF Ankur Vihar. Here most amenities are within walking distance, such as The State Bank of India,oriental bank of commerce, Punjab national bank,Punjab and sindh Bank, Balram Nagar & Telephone Exchange office, Electric Power House, Punjab National Bank, Dispensary and Police Station.SLF Ved Vihar and DLF Ankur Vihar are located along the Khajuri pusta road and the delhi border.Loni Nagar Palika is located in Khanna Nagar, and headed by Dr.Vinod Singh Bansal,Chairman,

Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Loni had a population of 120,659. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Loni has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 87%, and female literacy is 60%. In Loni, 20% of the population is under 6 years of age. Loni have moderate transportation system connected by Road Sharanpur-Delhi and Trains. Railway station of Loni is known as Noli. there is a Warehouse of FCI (Food corporation of India) at Noli Railway station. There are huge gas distribution terminals in Loni Indane and Bharat gas are supplying cooking gas from here to north India. Gas supply to these terminals are being supplied by pipelines from Jamnagar etc. Tronica City is another expansion of loni for Industrial Development and residential as well.
Indrapuri (ABCD Blocks) is the largest and one of the oldest residential colony approved by GDA in Loni. It is situated on the main State Highway 57 (Delhi Yamunotri Marg. It is inhabited by a large number of retired/serving Government Employees and private sector employees. The DTC bus terminal called no.2 is in Indrapuri colony. The periphery of the colony touches Shive Vihar and Shanti Nagar area of Delhi.
Delhi yamunotri marg will be converted to Express Highway by State highway Development Authority on public Private Partnership basis, and a Elevated Road will cover 6 Km stretch in Loni,to Improve Connectivity.
DTC and DIMTS also announced large number of DTC and private buses under cluster scheme for Loni to various parts of delhi to make ease of Commuting.
Loni is Having best Underground water resources in NCR region and climate is bit cleaner than Ghaziabad and Delhi.

The loni shaharanpure rode is in a real bad condition for many years and no actions has been taken by the government to repair it. Moreover power supply is negligible.
