Sathupally is one of the major towns and Mandal headquarters in Khammam district in Telangana, India. It is so named because it is the combination of seven (saath) villages. It is also a constituency of the Telangana Legislative Assembly.

The town is 95 kilometres (59 mi) from Vijayawada, 279 kilometres (173 mi) from Hyderabad and 80 kilometres (50 mi) from Khammam and 81 kilometres (50 mi) from Eluru& 54 kilometres (34 mi) from Nuzvid. It consists of Singareni coal mines located in the borders and it also consists of vast forest area.

The special police 16th battalion is situated at Gangaram village, near to Sathupally town. This is a major municipality and commercial centre in Khammam district. This is one of the fastest-growing towns in Khammam district as this town is reachable by more than 100 villages in the districts of Khammam, West Godavari and Krishna.

Agriculture is the main economic activity in Sathupalli. Irrigation here mainly depends on monsoon and seasonal rainfalls. Major crops are paddy, corn, mango. This place is famous for eucalyptus clones which are abundant here.

Coca-Cola company has a manufacturing unit for production of Kinley mineral water in the town.

Thammileru starts at Sathupalli. There are several number of Temples constructed recently. And, historical Temple named NEELADRI was known constructed during Kakatiya dynasty.

Another famous Temple is Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Annapureddy Palli which is approximately 20 Kilometres from the Town. Historically 700-year-old temple was built during the reign of Kakatiyas, it represents the epitome of south Indian culture and heritage with excellent sculptures inscribed on the walls and pillars. There are regular bus services to reach this Temple.

The former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh(United), Jalagam Vengala Rao, and former Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Thummala Nageswara Rao was elected three times from this assembly constituency in 1985,1994 and 1999. Now he is serving as minister for Roads and buildings, Women and child welfare in Telangana State government. The former minister Jalagam Prasada Rao elected from this assembly constituency.Even now also Jalagam Prasada rao serves to the people independently.The person who always serves to the people in entire khammam district,he is one and only Jalagam Prasada Rao


Sathupally has a mixed culture of Telangana and Coastal Andhra as it is located near the border of Andhra Pradesh.

Sathupally coal mine - The government wanted to make use of the coal available with the Sathupalli mines for the new project by entering into a long term coal linkage and 2nd Open Cast has started at Vemsoor Road after Kristaram Open Cast. The Sattupally Thermal Power Station is a proposed 600 megawatt coal-fired plant proposed by Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) in India. Best Places: TSRTC Bus Depot, ASHA BLOOD BANK, Jalagam Vengalarao Degree College, S.B.S Challam High School /Jr.College, Coca-Cola Company, MADHURI FUNCTION HALL, T.T.D KALYANA MANDAPAM, LIC Building, BSNL Bavan, Mahi Computers - Sales & Service, Old Bus stand Center, Kalpataru Complex. There are many famous temples in Sathupalli like Nelladri and Annapureddipali, Sri Saraswathi Temple, Ayyappa Swami Temple, Saibaba Temple. Colleges: Education is best part in Sattupally which helped to develop sattupally consistency with in a short period. Best examples are Mother Teresa Institute of science and technology (MIST), JVR GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, Kakatiya Degree College, Nava Bharat Degree College, Sai Spurthi Institute of Technology (B.Gangaram) & more of 30 Colleges located in Sattupally and around the town. Theatres sathupally: Sai Balaji Theater, Srinivasa Theater, Balaji Theater, Sri Venkateswara Theater. As Sathupally town is located on SH 7 it is well connected to major cities and towns in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. TSRTC operates regular bus services to many cities like Khammam, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Eluru, Visakhapatnam.


Sathupally has no rail connectivity. Khammam is nearest railway station and it is one of the major Railway stations on the NewDelhi<->Chennai Railway line which connects with Hyderabad, Warangal, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and trains going to major cities in India like Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai stop station. There is a railway line proposed to Sathupally majorly for coal transportation. But this project is pending from a long time because funds are not being allotted by railway ministry.


The nearest airport is Vijayawada Airport (88 km) but the most used airport is the Hyderabad International Airport (290 km) because of its size and accessibility to international locations.
