Shishgarh is a town and a nagar panchayat in Bareilly district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Geography

Shishgarh is located at 28°43′N 79°19′E / 28.72°N 79.32°E / 28.72; 79.32.[1] It has an average elevation of 174 metres (570 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Shishgarh had a population of 20,672. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Shishgarh has an average literacy rate of 27%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 36%, and female literacy is 17%. In Shishgarh, 20% of the population is under 6 years of age.
