Hey, Administrators...
My user page doesn't display the proper notification that I'm blocked. Someone should fix that.

Unblock request
Delta1989 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I suppose now would be the time to ask for an unblock of my original account, the account of Defender 911. I understand that this account is a sockpuppet, and I understand that sockpuppetry isn’t allowed on Wikipedia. Surely, however, by looking at my edits on this account, one can determine that I’ve done all I can to make up for my mistakes.
I believe I’ve been blocked long enough for a first offense. I want to return to my original account, if Wikipedia will allow me to do so. How serious was my offense? Who did it really hurt? These are still questions I haven’t answered.
A reason cited for my blocking was that I made too many edits on my userspace. Perhaps looking at my records, one will see that I’ve been a more active contributor.
Another cited reason was bites. I believe that it was I who was bitten, facing down a backlash of deletions and criticism. I was labeled as “obsessive compulsive” by one editor, who later claimed to be bitten.
Hopefully, whoever reads this will understand why I’ve written this. I understand my actions, and I am well aware that I could well be banned again. But I believe that I’ve been banned for long enough.
Decline reason:
I've now blocked this account directly. Given that this is a block-evading alternate account of a user banned for abusive behavior, that was started immediately after that ban, ArbCom might be willing to take the non-abusive nature of this account under consideration; but the mere fact that you've gotten away with it for over two years doesn't make it OK. --jpgordon::==( o ) 19:07, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If I can't be unblocked, I want answers to the following questions: * Why was no expiration date for my block established when worse users were allowed back onto the site? * Why was no action taken towards other users? * Why is there no recognition of the wrongs against me? * Why were my wrongs blown out of all proportion?
Decline reason:
I am declining your request for unblock because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read our guide to appealing blocks for more information. Sandstein 06:28, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Non Free Images in your User Space
Hey there Delta1989, thank you for your contributions! I am a bot alerting you that Non-free files are not allowed in the user or talk-space. I removed some images that I found on User talk:Delta1989/Archive 1. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use images to your user-space drafts or your talk page. See a log of images removed today here, shutoff the bot here and report errors here. Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 04:54, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Arbcom
Given that:
- Jpgordon wrote at his decline reason: "I've now blocked this account directly. [1]
- You are still around. [2]
Would you be interested in taking this case to arbcom? I can initiate the request if you wish. ♠TomasBat 00:27, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- You would? Thanks! I really appreciate your help. By the way, might I ask why you retired? --Delta1989 (talk/contributions) 01:30, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- I retired because I wanted to concentrate more on some other stuff - like writing. But I'm planning to return to activity sometime soon. Regarding the arbcom request, remember that most probably we really won't get anywhere (the last request was unanimously declined), but we lose nothing with trying :) So I'll initiate the request when I have time. ♠TomasBat 16:19, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks! It's worth a try. I do appreciate you coming out of retirement to help me! --Delta1989 (talk/contributions) 23:28, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Community ban lifted
Seeing as you have edited for some time without problem, I see no reason for the ban to continue. No one has argued that you should remain banned and accordingly there is no justification for continuing it. I'm going to take your good behaviour under this username as an indication that any problematic editing as Defender 911 won't be repeated. WJBscribe (talk) 16:15, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

- I appreciate the ban being lifted. I can't find the ArbCom case anywhere, though... --Delta1989 (talk/contributions) 17:24, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- As the ban was lifted, the ArbCom request was removed as it was no longer necessary. Here is the link to the latest version of the case, if you want. ♠TomasBat 17:47, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for the link, and the unblock is again appreciated. I'll do my best to be productive! --Delta1989 (talk/contributions) 23:10, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Added template for SuggestBot
Hi,
Thanks for being one of SuggestBot's users! I hope you have found the bot's suggestions useful.
We are in the process of switching from our previous list-based signup process to using templates and userboxes, and I have therefore added the appropriate template to your user talk page. You should receive the first set of suggestions within a day, and since we'll be automating SuggestBot you will from then on continue to receive them regularly at the desired frequency.
We now also have a userbox that you can use to let others know you're using SuggestBot, and if you don't want to clutter your user talk page the bot can post to a sub-page in your userspace. More information about the userbox and usage of the template is available on User:SuggestBot/Getting Recommendations Regularly.
If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me on my user talk page. Thanks again, Nettrom (talk) 01:43, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Do you remember me?
Hi Defender :) It's been a long, long time and I just wanted to know if you were still around. Good luck :) :) :) ♠TomasBat 03:23, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- Gee, I'm surprised at how quick your reply was :) When I saw the "You have new messages (last change)" orange bar, I couldn't believe it :) My edits have sort of slackened too :) But I guess I'll always come back and edit every once and then. Hey, I'm really happy to talk to you again :) Remember when the block occurred, and then you came back and we went to Arbcom and everything was solved? It all seems so far away, so long ago... I was just checking my talk page archive and I'm kind of nostalgic :) Especially as lots of users I knew left long ago and I never heard of them again. Well, have a good life and may you have good luck wherever you go, ♠TomasBat 03:50, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Wikimania 2012 bid, DC chapter & next meetup!
- At WikiXDC in January, User:Harej proposed that DC submit a bid to host Wikimania 2012. A bid and organizing committee is being formed and seeks additional volunteers to help. Please look at our bid page and sign up if you want to help out. You can also signup for the bid team's email list.
- To support the Wikimania bid, more events like WikiXDC, and outreach activities like collaborations with the Smithsonian (ongoing) and National Archives, there also has been discussion of forming Wikimedia DC, as an official Wikimedia chapter. You can express interest and contribute to chapter discussions on the Wikimedia DC Meta-Wiki pages.
- To discuss all this and meet up with special guest, Dutch Wikipedian User:Kim Bruning, there will be a meetup, Wikipedia:Meetup/DC 16 this Tuesday at 7pm, at Capitol City Brewery, Metro Center. There will be a pre-meetup Wikimania team meeting at 6pm at the same location.
Apologies for the short notice for this meetup, but let's discuss when, where & what for DC Meetup #17. Also, if you haven't yet, please join wikimedia-dc mailing list to stay informed. Cheers, User:Aude (talk)
