Information icon Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! ... discospinster talk 16:05, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Narutolovehinata5. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Sakura Kinomoto without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I have restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Vega (Street Fighter) may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Star Wars characters

[edit]

I understand what you were trying to do with Category:Star Wars Canon characters, but this is not a valid category. Any character you could designate as "canon" could have been used in both canon and non-canon works. Plus, "Star Wars Canon" is not a "thing" the way Star Wars Legends is a branded concept. Legends-specific characters can be tagged by Category:Star Wars Legends characters, which is a subcategory of Category:Star Wars characters, but every character that has been used in a canon work or both should remain in Category:Star Wars characters.— TAnthonyTalk 16:53, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have also eliminated your Category:Star Wars Canon. Again, the categories you had made subordinate to it included items not from canon works. The canonocity of Star Wars topics is unfortunately too complex to be accommodated by a category system. The bulk of articles and topics should remain under Category:Star Wars and its subcategories. If you see a specific need for defining canon vs Legends somewhere, let me know and perhaps I can help you come up with a list or another appropriate way to clarify this. Thanks.— TAnthonyTalk 18:08, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Don't add those self-made maps

[edit]

Don't add those self-made UNSD maps to every article. They're completely taken out of context and are inferior to officially published UN maps. - LouisAragon (talk) 21:21, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Ghostbusters (franchise) into List of Ghostbusters characters. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 23:47, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Season of the Force

[edit]

The article Season of the Force has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't appear to have any encyclopedic value.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Alien navbox

[edit]

As a preface, let me say that I appreciate your contribution to the navbox overall; I really do. However, I had to remove the crossover films from there, as the AVP navbox covers those materials and the most responsible thing for the Alien navbox is to give a nod, but not to include anything more than a link to the franchise media. Once again, great job overall! DARTHBOTTO talkcont 22:27, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fictional martial artists categories

[edit]

Please undo all changes you have made. Firstly, the new categories are WP:OVERCAT, as an intersection of media and character property is too specific. Secondly, it's inappropriate, as many characters are in multiple media. Ash Williams, for example, has been in film, television, video games, and comics. To place the article in all four would bloat and devalue the category structure. That's why those categories didn't exist in the first place, because of long standing consensus regarding categories. Please read all category guidelines, and look through the history of WP:CFD to familiarize yourself on what is a proper category. The ones you've been making are inapproriate. And I won't even get into the poor names for them you've foisted upon us. If you don't upmerge the articles back into the main category, I will likely take the categories to CFD, where the result will likely be the same anyway. oknazevad (talk) 15:45, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

[edit]

Hello, Kcorilol. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/CensoredScribe, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
