Owen Bennett-Jones[edit]

I didn't want to mention this earlier as I thought it might unduly influence the discussion, but Owen is actually my cousin. When did you have the chance to speak to him? – PeeJay 17:20, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Haha! Ah very good! That's brilliant, how neat to have such an interesting person as a relative. Oh, I just e-mailed him about his name -- on it says "To contact the author please e-mail [address]" so I gave it a go and asked him himself. He e-mailed me back! I was surprised, really, since he's such a high-profile (and I presume busy) person. First came across him at all only recently because I started listening to his programme Newshour Extra. ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
