Tans Peru Crash location

Thank you for your message. There seem to be conflicting information within the report but the offical accident report is very clear here on Page 50.

http://www.webcitation.org/67ZOn3rf1

Initial impact is 7.03 kilometers (3.8 Nautical Miles) short of the runway plus skid for 1.47 kilometers. The mark given is nothing like that.

Also, the diagram on page 24 makes that clear, and this was a major part element in determining the cause.

Now the accident report does give co-ordinates but these seem approximate and contradict everything else. So at present the mark is shown within the city itself - actually on buildings only 3kms from the runway. Also the emergency crew were unable to reach the site for around 45 minutes. The present mark thus is clearly wrong.

The mark I put is 7kms from the end of the runway. Unfortuntately, there is no way to get the exact location, but this is more accurate than the present one which seems way out. 221.133.75.209 (talk) 10:25, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. Regarding the coordinates for the exact location, we should stick to WP:VERIFY and also mind WP:VNT. The coordinates provided in the page 6 of the final report is the one used in the absent of another one.--Jetstreamer Talk 13:43, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
So if the coordinates in the accident report contradict 2 other pieces in the accident report then we should take the clearly wrong coordinates? Here's what the accident report says:
1. The accident happened 3kms from the runway
2. Here is a diagram showing the accident happening 7kms from the runway
3. Here is a statement saying the accident happening 7kms from the runway
Regarding WP:VERIFY and also mind WP:VNT what does it say when the source contradicts itself? In this case, we should note in the article that the report is contradictory regarding the location. Suppose the report had a misprint putting the accident 50km away, would that mean we would have to put the accident 50km away because of WP:VERIFY and WP:VNT? This seems to be a misprint. Especially as one of the co-ordinates is 00seconds 221.133.75.209 (talk) 15:06, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

Royal Beunei Airlines

How was the edit unconstructive? I did the same at Malaysia Airlines and you had no issue with that i.e adding Dubai-DWC temporary service information with dates and reference. 139.190.174.250 (talk) 05:37, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

The edit at Malaysia Airlines destinations was supported by the reference provided. The one at Royal Brunei destinations was not. Reda WP:VERIFY again: "All quotations, and any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged, must include an inline citation that directly supports the material". This was not the case.--Jetstreamer Talk 10:30, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

British Airways Destinations?

Hello!

I just edited the British Airways destinations page. I'm new and I don't understand what I did wrong?

British Airways to Punta Cana

British Airways is not serving Punta Cana from Heathrow, please stop undoing edits here, the referenced article is incorrect, please look at British Airways' online timetable and the many many other articles which are available online which state this too. The new direct flights are from Gatwick, replace the existing one-stop flights. Surinam Airways has only 4 airplanes in it's fleet

Nardisoero (talk) 07:42, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Surinam Airways has only 4 airplanes in it's fleet Hello you removed the quantity I corrected, from 4 to 5 airplanes and placed the comment "not according to fleet table". Your comment does not looks at the fact that in the according fleet table of Surinam Airways there are four airplanes, not five. And I know for a fact that Surinam Airways has only four airplanes in it's fleet at the moment. Three Boeing 737-300 airplanes (PZ-TCN Boeing 737-36N MSN:28668/ PZ-TCO Boeing 737-36N MSN:28669/ PZ-TCQ Boeing 737-3Q8 MSN:26295) & one Airbus A340 (PZ-TCP Airbus A340-311 MSN:0049). Surinam Airways has no fifth airplane at the moment in it's fleet. That's the reason why i have changed that number, so why did you revert/change it back from 4 to 5? @Nardisoero: You're right. I reverted your edit without noticing it was correct. I apologise for that. Your modification has been reinstated ([2]).--Jetstreamer Talk 16:43, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Repeated warnings for unreliable sources

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:175.110.250.59

You've given this user a lecture on unreliable sources. His other posts are also using unreliable sources, such as unofficial Facebook pages. Could you please issue him warning. I did some work on PIA airlines page, he edits it 5 times thereafter every time and within 24 hours, which is violation of wiki conduct. This makes it hard for me to undo his work and I've given up. Your recent reversion of my changes

Hi, I'd like to understand why you the addition of sub-section headers under "References" in 2 articles about defunct airlines from Argentina. The "empty" section is a placeholder for future information. Besides that, I'm not violating any Wikipedia policy or guideline, AFAIK. Hope you don't mind if I revert back to my edits. Kind regards, DPdH (talk) 13:36, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

@DPdH: I do mind, don't do that. There's no point in adding an empty "Bibliography" section. As I said in one of my edit summaries, if you have bibliography to add, you may proceed. It's much like adding an "Accidents and incidents" section when an airline has a clean record.--Jetstreamer Talk 13:55, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
I partially disagree, the example used is not very similar case. But I acknowledge your request, won't do that. Regards, DPdH (talk) 14:10, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

@ANG99: First of all, you don't need to insult me. Please read WP:CIVIL. As to your changes to the article, they are still in conflict with WP:VERIFY: you marked a lot of destinations as terminated but you did not provide a reference for each of these entries. Clearly, the current destinations map will not show that destinations as terminated, and that's why I reverted your edits twice. I explained this to you at your talk page but you insist on violating a basic policy. A different approach is needed here. Rather than reverting you again, I'm contacting an administrator to solve this issue. Turkish Airlines Destinations and Benghazi Airport

Thank you for your "thanks" concerning to the Turkish Airlines destinations, as I've also received from Ohconfucius (or alike), though it was my mistake to make again the links for the countries (this is because I publish in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian Wikipedias too (mainly) and there the rules are a bit different). I have an updated map about the Turkish Airlines destinations too, in the articles of 10 wikipedias. And I noticed, with 1 week of delay, that Benghazi was suspended, not from Wikipedia, but from other media (The Young Turks channel of Youtube, to be honest) that all the airspace over Benghazi was a no-flight zone now! And I confirmed by checking the Turkish Airlines sources (including flight info from Atatürk Airport). By the way, according to the sources, the Benghazi Airport article is not updated. I thank any advice from you about further updates about the Benghazi Airport and other destinations from Turkish Airlines (or from TAP Portugal that I also update usually), so I can be more efficient about its updates.Mondolkiri1 (talk) 02:43, 26 May 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mondolkiri1 (talkcontribs)

Shamim Iskander and corruption chanrge

Dear Sir, In the article of Biman Bangladesh Airlines you have written that "In 2007, the caretaker government launched an anti-corruption drive which saw the arrest of Shamim Iskander, the brother of ex-prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia and a former Biman flight engineer, on multiple corruption charges."

This is a totally wrong information. Mr. Iskandar was arrested for "concealing information about wealth worth Tk 20.47 lakh in the wealth statement they submitted to the Anti-Corruption Commission"[1][2].

No other charge of corruption was brought against him except this one. So the claim of multiple charge in baseless.

And the reference you have used to make Shamim Iskandar guilty is actually a sub-editorial and written by an outsider[3] as well as cannot be considered as a substantial evidence. However, the writer of the article argued with some allegations but failed to show any charges brought against him regarding Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The writer even failed to spell out the name of Mr. Iskandar correctly.

So I hope you understand that Shamim Iskandar had nothing to do with the Biman Bangladesh Airlines related corruptions as not a single charge was brought against him regarding the Biman Bangladesh Airlines.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Endeavorbd (talkcontribs)

@Endeavorbd: The matter is that you added two references that did not directly support your claims, going against WP:VERIFY, a basic policy. I will adjust the text to what exactly the sources you added say. Please let me know your opinion. Separately, you should sign your posts. Thanks.--Jetstreamer Talk 10:45, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Turkish Airlines codeshare

I think Turkish Airlines has codeshare with all Star Alliance members, so why don't add Avianca, EVA Air, Shenzhen Airlines and Copa Airlines? these also Star Alliance member. Hanafi233 23:31, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

That's not true. The fact that Turkish Airlines is a member of Star Alliance does not imply it codeshares with the rest of the members of the alliance. Go to the airline webpage and see the carriers it has codeshare agreements with: not all the Star Alliance members are listed there.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:52, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

No need to ask to a Spanish-speaking person at all, I was born and live in Argentina. Nowhere in the piece of text you provided says "edad de consentimiento".--Jetstreamer Talk 19:00, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

This term does not necassarily need to be used in the criminal law. It reads what is forbidden (a crime in this case). That's how criminal law works.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.216.104.168 (talkcontribs)

But according to WP:VERIFY "all material in Wikipedia mainspace, including everything in articles, lists and captions, must be verifiable. All quotations, and any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged, must include an inline citation that directly supports the material".--Jetstreamer Talk 19:56, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

Yes, it does "directly support the material". That's the law that regulates the issue. There is no better source. It does not need to contain a specific phrase.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.216.104.168 (talkcontribs)

It should for the purposes of Wikipedia, as per WP:ORIGINAL. The problem here is that Wikipedia is not for interpreting the law but to reproduce exactly its content.--Jetstreamer Talk 20:17, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

It's up to judges to interpret specific terms like what is exactly "corruption" or so. But in Argentinian law it seems to be regulated relatively clear. To say that any sexual contact with a person below 15 would be a crime would be wrong. It's up to you how detailed you want to give that information in the LGBT article. It is pretty detailed in the wikipedia-aoc-writing. You can also just not mention an "age of consent" at all.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.216.104.168 (talk) 12:55, 31 May 2014 (UTC)

Cubana and AOM

About this edit - The French BEA thinks there is enough of a connection to France that they host the accident report on BEA servers. The Guatemalan authorities list "EXPLOTADOR: AOM, VUELO CHARTER CUBANA DE AVIACIÓN 1216" - I don't know if there was AOM crew on the flight. The Guatemalans define the country of the operating airline as France, not Cuba: "Estado Explotador (Estado Francés)," WhisperToMe (talk) 13:59, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

@WhisperToMe: Noted. BTW, good call: Aviation Safety Network lists the accident under AOM French Airlines. Sorry for my late response.--Jetstreamer Talk 11:25, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Re. Vista Georgia relationship with Sudan Airways

Dear Jetstreamer,

Vista Georgia is not associated nor does it lease aircraft to Sudan Airways, this is why the information has been deleted from the Wikipedia page of Sudan Airways. ch-aviation has also been informed of this.

Media ManagerAV (talk) 14:21, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

You have not provided a source for your changes. The information as it currently appears in the article is properly sourced and is in compliance with WP:VERIFY, a basic policy.--Jetstreamer Talk 14:34, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
@Media ManagerAV: After posting at my talk page, going ahead with your removal without waiting for my opinion or response is not a good sign of etiquette. Anyway, I've updated the fleet table with referenced information. As you can see, even after your removal the table included wrong information. Date template

Please do not use the {{date}} template as you did in Turkish Airlines destinations. Per instructions on the template's doc page, "This template should only be used internally in other templates." Bgwhite (talk) 08:06, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

@Bgwhite: That's what I did: using {{date}} inside citation templates like {{cite press release}} and {{cite news}}.--Jetstreamer Talk 10:23, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
Not exactly. Also, the date template only adds time to render the page, adds unnecessary stuff that is especially confusing to newbies and is always broke. I fix ten articles a day where someone used the date template with the wrong amount of brackets as happened in Turkish Airlines destinations. Bgwhite (talk) 16:41, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Why will you ban me from editing wikipedia? its not like I repeatedly posted misinformation in there that you adressed me that way, also do not practice double standards on KLM listt I have been seeing citation needed tags since quite a few years, adding that to a verified Biman destination has suddenly become against the rules, why? can I remove the uncited places from KLM article too? 175.110.250.59 (talk) 00:04, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

Those citation needed tags you refer to were added by me when I first came to the page, but I was not the editor that added the unsourced entries. In your case, you are blatantly adding an unsourced statement by putting a {{citation needed}} tag as reference. That's plainly an unsourced edit. If you want to edit in a constructive fashion, the first thing you should do is to find reliable sources for your changes. Neither I nor anyone else will do your work for you. And yes, if you believe the unsourced entries at KLM destinations have been long-standing without a proper referece you may remove them.--Jetstreamer Talk 01:49, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

Where is a good place to put edit summaries?

And where do I reply to a comment on my talk page, on my page or on yours?

Start being constructive rather than disruptive. You kept a section under "citation needed" for a citation that needed 1 minute on Google to find the source, then all of a sudden when the citation was given you killed the section. Tell me why? I hate "citation needed" tags on something that needs 1 minute of google research to give a citation, it just kills the credibility of Wikipedia. Don't loose time in setting "citation needed" tags when it requires the same time to find a citation and mention it in the article.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mt hg (talkcontribs)

Look at my contributions and then tell me if I have not been constructive. Not to mention the article we're discussing. It's not me the one that is obliged to add sources, as per WP:BURDEN. I had removed almost instantly that information if I was monitoring the article at the time that stuff was added. The source you inserted is not reliable. As I said in my edit summary, images are not reliable source. Nonetheless, I can accept that paragraph to stay.--Jetstreamer Talk 21:19, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

Turkish Airlines destinations

I noticed that you replaced the expression "Asian part of Russia" with "Siberia". But Siberia only includes Yekaterinburg in a historical context. It actually belongs to the Ural region. So, the correct expression is either "Asian part of Russia" or "Siberia and the Ural region". Well, if you want to simplify, the destinations in Georgia and Azerbaijan (eventually Cyprus) can also be considered in Asia, but for proximity reasons they are usually considered in Europe.Mondolkiri1 (talk) 17:23, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi Jetstreamer. The changes I made are certainly correct as YU-APG was delivered 5 days ago and there are 7 A319's active. Just see http://www.planespotters.net/Airline/Air-Serbia if you need confirmation. Unfortunately, Planespotters is not a reliable source. You should use another source if you want your edit to stay. Figures in the official website are not in agreement with the ones provided by you. Furthermore, you cannot use Wikipedia to support Wikipedia, as per WP:CIRCULAR.--Jetstreamer Talk 11:34, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

You are right about Flight academy part, I may give reference. I looked up a bit, however I couldn't find one till tomorrow. But, I don't see a reference for actual A340 numbers in the fleet and a date for out of inventory of them. Also same is true for Cargo Fleet a/c. Where is the 6th A330 comes from? Is it leased or just a mistake? And actual number of A310 cargo a/c is not referenced, it is actually wrong. MRO part is a disaster. HABOM and TEC is at SAW, but they are totally different companies. However, when you click on the link about TEC, you find yourself at HABOM site. Isn't it bizarre? If you just gave required attention to these details and did not reject my contributions in a hurry, you will see that I did the right thing. You may not have enough time to do that, but so do I when replying you. UTair Modification

Good evening. For the first claim, I would like to know if you actually looked the incident up/followed my link, and if the incident was unimportant, why does the video have more than 9 million views and was on many big news channels throughout the world (even if granted, many things get millions of views on youtube, important or not). revert on Ellinikon Airport

Yes, the link is correct but first it is not apparent "Eleftherios Venizelos Airport" is the same as "Athen's International", and also "Athens Airport" link is already in same paragraph. There is Wikipedia rules about overlinking... I will fix again. Mistakefinder (talk) 19:11, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

@Mistakefinder: First of all, let me tell you that there's little etiquette in proceeding with your view ([4]) before knowing my response, especially when it was you the one that initiated the discussion. Having said that, Eleftherios Venizelos Airport is a redirect to the current airport in Athens, i.e. Athens International Airport. Just as Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport is. I don't see which is the issue here. Furthermore, where is the overlinking you refer to in the article. One link points to Athens International Airport and the other one points to Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. WP:OVERLINK does not say that the same article cannot be linked to from different redirects.--Jetstreamer Talk 19:49, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Ok. Sorry about proceeding before waiting for your reply. But also isn't the usual practice not to revert someone's edit and have a discussion first unless it's clear vandalism?

The issue is that it is NOT clear too an average reader that Eleftherios Venizelos is the SAME airport as Athens International unless you already have previous knowledge they are the same. To have first mention of Eleftherios Venizelos without making the connection between it and Athen's Int'l and showing how it is relevant is not good communication/writing. Once you make the connection, then to use the redirect in another paragraph would be fine, but linking to the same article in the same paragraph with a redirect is unnecessary and easily done with what I did. Redirects are usually used for search entries using that term or common misspellings. Somewhere in the linking guidelines there's stuff about avoiding linking to the same page within the same paragraph, and in general you want to avoid linking to a page more than once in the whole article unless necessary. Mistakefinder (talk) 20:25, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

@Mistakefinder: What about using a piped link, i.e. [[Athens International Airport|Eleftherios Venizelos Airport]] just before the full stop? Do you think that will settle this?--Jetstreamer Talk 20:36, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
What you did is better, thanks. But it still doesn't solve the connection issue. I'll add "Eleftherios Venizelos" to the first Athens Int'l link. That should take care of it, since it's part of the full name anyway (shown in info box). Mistakefinder (talk) 00:15, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
@Mistakefinder: Great, go ahead.--Jetstreamer Talk 00:19, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi Jetstreamer, I wonder if you may also want to simply remove the IATA/ICAO codes, since former airports don't have those codes listed, for example see Stapleton International Airport, its code was also switched to the new Denver Int'l. Perhaps just put that part into your note. FYI. Mistakefinder (talk) 18:43, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Aeroméxico destinations

Well, the reference you cite shows that Atlanta was once served, but there is no reference showing it was terminated. I know for a fact that AM cut flights to ATL in April, but as Aeroméxico has not updated their website removing Atlanta as a destination, and doesn't even have a current timetable on their site, I know of know other way to prove that they don't fly to Atlanta other than citing a third-party timetable tool. I leave it up to you if you want to improve the sourcing on the ATL item, I am just happy that the article reflects the actual situation. Keizers (talk) 01:20, 3 August 2014 (UTC)

PS on the main Aeromexico article I have no idea what that IP editor is up to. S/he seems obsessed with adding Cancún back as a hub. @AirWolf: We appreciate your work but Air Serbia's talk page shows no consensus for the merge. You should have read that before proceeding with the work you mention. You can still start a sandbox page if you prefer.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:36, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
Describe consensus before continuing and how it can prevent users from doing mergers in this case. You want to say it is my fault that I've tried to help?--AirWolf (talk) 23:39, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
@AirWolf: You are not respecting the outcome of the merge proposal and proceeded with a unilateral cut and paste move. That's entirely your fault.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:42, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
Common, reasons of those who opposed merge were mostly based on: too much history to be merged(???); de facto new carrier (I say that de jure it is old carrier), new airplanes, new livery, new crew - everything is new (livery-same was with JAT Yugoslav Airline and it is merged, new airplanes (i agree, some of them), new crew (source???)), Air Serbia is a brand new company with no liabilities (there was some source denying this fact), Air Serbia is a new project (common, other companies never had projects? that doesn't classifies as airline with ceased operations), ant I can contradict any of these "facts". I have told you mine, I was clear.. --AirWolf (talk) 23:52, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
@AirWolf: Whether you agree or not with the outcome right now is not relevant here. There was no consensus. It's not my decision and this is not the place to discuss another merger. You can start a new discussion if you want to, but you should self-revert all the changes you made to both Air Serbia and Jat Airways.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:58, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
Let me eat something first. I will probably do that, and once that finished I'm quitting form wiki, place where voice of non-sense is equaled to facts, official information. In the first you were acting like power-hungry with these revert without seeing what contributor has done (although I still believe you don't see any good will there) and we both now that adminship doesn't make you better (more powerful just in terms of vandalism - giving you bigger access to tools) than other contributors. Any time other admins can be called in to discuss. At the end, you were talking words of wikipedia, just like admin should do. Now that we have kind of proposal, what is your thinking of this issue (Air Serbia, not me)?--AirWolf (talk) 00:09, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
@AirWolf: I'm not an administrator. As I said above, whether I agree or not with your proposal has nothing to do with the unilateral decision you took. Please self-revert.--Jetstreamer Talk 00:12, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
@AirWolf: Thanks for reinstating the last version of the pages. BTW, you don't need to leave Wikipedia just because this does not get your way...--Jetstreamer Talk 00:27, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Not only this, there are few other problems I am experiencing.. Can you start again discussion just like you did last time, I'll try to invite few members to discuss. I kind of never started it before, so I don't know the form. Please?AirWolf (talk) 00:30, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
? AirWolf (talk) 00:50, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, but I already did that. Honestly, I don't think the outcome would be different if I'd start a new merger proposal.--Jetstreamer Talk 01:17, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Both of us know how the Air Serbia article should look like. All of your statements were in favor of merging. But I don't care anymore, you are believing in some awkward democratic system where fool's voice is equal to a wise-man's voice. Deep inside, I know my edits today were right and that feeling can't change anyone. Indeed, my edit really was "unilateral", but also supported with some really good references which proved any kind of merger. Therefore, there never had to be any merge, the company just renamed its name, changed ownership structure, added few planes. Nothing else changed. Writing all these, I regained my confidence to fight for my contribution, which has driven me for four hours, time I could have spent with family.. And all this non-sense discussion with you just because of some kind of survey which is totally disputed (reasons explained). I just can't accept something which is not right (that is not subjective, its just a fact!). Eventually Air Serbia's article will look like this: [6], remember that.--AirWolf (talk) 01:44, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I've placed the {{merge to}} and {{merge from}} tags at Jat Airways and Air Serbia, respectively. Let's see what others have to say.--Jetstreamer Talk 13:09, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
You have disrespected my voice once again by putting a new merge discussion now. Please self-revert your actions. As explained here: [7], the previous discussion was not legitimate. This way you are trying to fix your mistake by opening a discussion on 1 August 2013. I have provided reasons why there is no need for a new discussion. We should wait for other contributors to give their opinion on his issue. Thanks--AirWolf talk 13:43, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I don't want you to contact me again for this particular topic. I'm closing this discussion. I recommend you to first clarify exactly what you want to be done before making back and forth statements. Thank you.--Jetstreamer Talk 13:53, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

August 2014 Libyan Airlines

I am not trying to violate the page, I am trying to add additional contents while citing them also, but you insist to remove them with no reason. I also check that Libyan Airlines has two Airbus A330-200 currently (5A-LAR and 5A-LAS) 5A-LAS was damaged during the fight at Tripoli International Airport. If you think this is a lie, go check on Libyan Airlines fleet details and history on Planespotters.net. Again I am telling you, I am not trying to violate the page, just adding new contents while citing.--Airbus A330-343X lover (talk) 21:46, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

@Airbus A330-343X lover: What I think is not important. You're altering the article without providing sources. That's against WP:VERIFY, which is a policy.--Jetstreamer Talk 21:50, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Where in the page I had altered the article without providing sources?--Airbus A330-343X lover (talk) 21:58, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Hold on, I think I do forgot to add citing on something. I actually forgot to cite that one aircraft is stored for repair. I really apologize for this misunderstanding, I will fix that later.--Airbus A330-343X lover (talk) 22:09, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Invitation: Air Serbia discussion

Hi again. I don't want to bother you anymore, but I'd appreciate if you give opinion in a discussion about should we merge Jat Airways article content to Air Serbia article. See detailed here: [8]. Thanks.--AirWolf talk 21:30, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Iran Air Tours

Hi. The correct name of the company is Iran Air Tours. Their website is www.iranairtours.com Look at my edits. You see that the reason is a confusion with pluralization rules b/w Persian and English prefix:User talk:Jetstreamer/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Batman300 (talkcontribs) 16:51, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

@Batman300: Your major expansion of the article included no sources. This is against WP:VERIFY. I've reverted them accordingly. You may reinstate them with references supporting your changes. Thanks.--Jetstreamer Talk 16:54, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

I am not sure why you think this un-sourced. I am fluent in Persian and I am simply correcting the translation error and have added quiet a bit of info to the text. There is a confusion in the translation rules and on their own website they refer to themselves in English as "Iran Air Tours", "Iran Air Tour" "Iranair tour", etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Batman300 (talkcontribs) 16:56, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

@Batman300: Your skills in Persian and English are not in doubt. What I'm telling you is that you added unreferenced content, i.e. you additions were not supported by sources. There's a verifiability policy to be followed, and you did not this. Furthermore, the name of the airline is "Iran Airtour Airline" as it appears in the frontpage of the website you point to. I see that you reinstated the edits again and moved the page without consensus, completely ignoring my messages at the article's talk. I'm contacting an administrator.--Jetstreamer Talk 17:44, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

Can you take a look at this page? There is a slight dispute regarding the sources for American Airlines's seasonal service to DUS (the airline is suspending the service to DUS from 26 October 2014 to 15 April 2015. However, the IP insists that this service require two sources (the wording is exactly the same and the user called my edit and another IP's as "vandalism"). Also, does the references go before or after the destination? (most seasonal flights that are sourced have the reference after the destination. Can you help? Thanks! Heathrow to Alicante

British Airways secretly removed the route. Many websites still show the route as operational. On the Heathrow timetable and british airways timetable pages the route is non existent: http://www.heathrowairport.com/flight-information/flight-timetable and http://www.britishairways.com/travel/schedules/public/en_gb . I was booked on this flight and it was sadly cancelled. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oneandonly1 (talkcontribs) 19:12, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Air Serbia destinations

Can you take a look at this page? The source provided states that Varna will become seasonal,on 26 October 2014 but I marked it as seasonal on the page buut the IP undid it. I reverted again but the IP will reverted it again. I have left a,message at his talk page. Rzxz1980 (talk) 19:22, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Some cool stuff

As you are highly interested in aviation and aircraft, do you know any other cool sites like this one I've found recently? Here: [10]. --AirWolf talk 18:55, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Iran Air Tours

I am sorry that you feel that I am intentionally ignoring and your comments. I hope that the administrator can help on sorting this out.

It IS the issue of linguistic abilities. The English name of the airline is written FOUR different ways on their own website (three of which are grammatically incorrect in English)! However the actual address is www.iranairtours.com, ie the name is Iran Air Tours. If you omit the "s" from the URL address, you won't get to their website! I am extremely familiar with this airline and have flown on their aircraft many many times. Everything I have written is referenced, albeit some of it is in Persian. To make it even more clear, I have repeated the reference for each aircraft type, including from Aerotransport.org

Best — Preceding unsigned comment added by Batman300 (talkcontribs) 02:02, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

@Batman300: Ok, WP:AGF, but can you please find a source for the change? I mean, I understand what you say but given that WP:VNT stands, is there any way to source the correct name for the airline. We're talking about the name of the article, so we need hard evidence. Please note that I've withdrawn the request for admin assistance as we keep discussing.--Jetstreamer Talk 10:12, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Qatar orders

Qatar Airways has no outstanding orders for both 777-200LR and A320-200. That was simply wrong, as were the order numbers for 777-300ER and 777F. Correct numbers can be checked at respective manufacturers websites. 777X is also wrong as can be seen in the linked press release (purchase rights, not Options!)SideshowBob7 (talk) 21:33, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

The sources provided do say so. And that information was added by me using Flightglobal, which is an authoritative source in the aviation industry, as a reference. Furthermore, only firm orders will appear in a manufacturer's order book: they cannot include commitments simply because they need to be firmed up to be included as such. You're a little bit confused. I've reverted the last edit to the article that was made by an IP. I assume it was you.--Jetstreamer Talk 22:14, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

As you say: "only firm orders will appear in a manufacturer's order book" and this is why an encyclopedia should also list firm orders only as orders. This is still not a newspaper and who should know better about firm orders than the manufacturer. The page you used now is a) highly outdated and b) mixing up firm orders and options, so definitely unsuitable as a ref. Regarding the 777X your own source says purchase rights, so why do you include these as options? It's not the same. SideshowBob7 (talk) 09:03, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

@SideshowBob7: You're absolutely right about the purchase rights. I feel like a fool. Please accept my apologies. I'm also removing the templates I left at your talk.--Jetstreamer Talk 12:57, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Old vs. New

No offense, but the pictures found on Ellenikon Airport are ALL old. I most certainly think it would not bust your balls to take ONE of the old ones out, and put in a new one. One I, as a professional photographer took last week, as I was in Athens. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dennis David Auger (talkcontribs) 18:47, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Dusseldorf Airport again

The dispute regarding AA service has appeared again. Another IP continued inappropriately label edits as "vandalism". The dispute is the AA to ORD started as year-round service but it has converted to summer seasonal. Where does the source go? Rzxz1980 (talk) 05:04, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
