Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Imagesyx.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Image tagging for Image:Tsu.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tsu.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We requires this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Shinigami Edits

Please discuss your edits regarding images and information on the discussion page. Due to Wikipedia policy regarding non-free images (in this case screenshots and individual character images) we have stuck with using group photos. Despite the value of having individual images for each character, we cannot. If you wish to contest due so in the discussion page of the article your editing. This would save much time and give better insight on why your edits are being reverted. Fox816 (talk) 20:50, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Kaig.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kaig.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Additionally, if you continue uploading bad images, you may be blocked from uploading. STBotI (talk) 01:15, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 04:05, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Nope, that's ok man... thanks anyway... already put it in a separate page so i can use it when needed... just waiting to archive my page to remove it... but thanks again :) Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 10:34, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Agree

Yeah, it didn't make sense to me either that those pages had to be formatted differently than others. Guess some people get too attached, if you know what I mean. {^_^} Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:22, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Your recent page moves

Your recent page moves have caused a great deal of disruption to the project. I've fixed it. Please do not do it again. Discuss it at the relevant talk pages in future. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 08:35, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Thank you

Yeah, let's watch these guys:

Tintor2 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log)
Snapper2 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log)
I'm not sure what they're trying to prove, however, we can't allow them to have things their way and not consider what other pages utilise. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 15:24, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I was thinking, like Naruto universe, should there be a complete article for Dragon Ball universe‎ and one for Rurouni Kenshin universe? You can reply on your talk page, as I'm watching it. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:08, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I do thank there should be. Especially for Dragon Ball. I am afraid I do not know what the latter is. Could you tell me? Earthbendingmaster (talk) 23:54, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh, sorry, got sidetracked. Here is Rurouni Kenshin. You're unfamiliar with the series? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:10, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Thats ok. You don't know if any changes have been made unless you go to your watchlist. Am I right? Earthbendingmaster (talk) 00:28, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the link. Earthbendingmaster (talk) 00:13, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
It looks like character articles for that series uses different titles for their Part in the plot. Do you try and keep them all the same? Earthbendingmaster (talk) 00:18, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Let's utilise "Plot overview" for the time being. It's just that I was fixing another page, I don't often get so caught up but don't worry, you're on my watchlist. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:34, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok. I have to go for now. Earthbendingmaster (talk) 00:42, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Ok I wont undo anything about that, but next time please contact me instead of what we did.Tintor2 (talk) 09:56, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Plot

Rather than continue to use the argument that "Plot overview" sounds better, please give me a legitimate reason for using it as opposed to "Part in the story". "Plot overview" suggests that there will be at least some mention of everything the character does in the series. For Naruto Uzumaki, for example, I'd expect to find something about his adventure in the Land of Waves, his involvement in Tsunade's recruitment as Hokage, and his brief battle with Deidara, to a name a few. Instead, I find a description of the role he has played in key parts of the ongoing story that is Naruto. This suggests that "Part in the story" would be a much better description of the section than "Plot overview". Maybe we can reach a compromise; "Part in the plot" perhaps? That alliteration makes it sound better. ~SnapperTo 01:25, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Sorry to butt in, Snapper2, the plot sections just need to be expanded since that's the case. Son Goku hardly has anything regarding his role in the series, but that doesn't mean I'll go around changing headers where I see fit. Most pages are formatted in the way we're trying to show you. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:42, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Only because you are the ones formatting it that way. Please read WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS; just because one article does something does not mean other articles need to do the same. If every article had to follow the same formula, then I suppose I should revert this edit since another, featured article, uses "Attributes" ~SnapperTo 21:35, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, it is. I was about to post a Comments and "Your Choices" section there when I got back, so you (and anyone else) can state your opinion when I do so. Artist Formerly Known As Whocares (talk) 16:43, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

RE: Thank You

Don't mention it, no problem. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 02:58, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

If you're editing your own userpage, you don't have to, but it is customary to put something like "housekeeping" or "tidying", etc. If editing someone else's userpage, always include an edit summary, as most people dislike having others fiddle with their userpages. For talk pages, you'd be best off writing what you're doing; for example, "reply", "fixing formatting", etc. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:27, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Yup, same rule applies. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:36, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure, I'd be happy to. There are multiple methods, however (documented at WP:ARCHIVE), so if you want you can choose one and let me know when the time comes. I'm off to do some work now; I'll talk to you later. Night, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:46, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

I have a request of you: if you send me a message, can you leave it under the Agree section since we seem to talk a lot? It's also that I'm trying to cut down on space, nothing personal. Please leave a response here. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:59, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure, no problem. Earthbendingmaster (talk) 02:09, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

RE: Latin

You can't move it because Latin language already exists as a redirect to that page; previous consensus was to move it there (see Talk:Latin/Archive 1). If a page already exists and you try to move another onto that page, the move won't be completed; only administrators can do move pages onto other pages. Or, you could follow the procedure at Wikipedia:Requested moves if you felt the article should be moved; I'd suggest talking about it with other editors first. Oh, and (as a warning) don't copy and paste the Latin article to Latin language; doing so destroys the page history. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 00:33, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, I'm not sure of the reason for moving the articles, but if you'd like you could discuss the matter with other editors. Also, yes, I've been nominated for administrator before, here. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 01:16, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Depends on the page; I'll see if I can get in touch with an administrator, though. Stand by for a few seconds, please. Thanks! Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 01:30, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Hello Earthbendingmaster, I hear you need a copy of a deleted page. could you tell me which one it is, and why you need it? Ryan Postlethwaite 01:38, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
The article List of Dragon Ball special abilities and for my own reference. Thank you. Earthbendingmaster (talk) 01:57, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
I've restored it and placed it at User:Earthbendingmaster/List of Dragon Ball special abilities - hope that helps! Ryan Postlethwaite 02:23, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I read MoP's talk page and let me assure you that you were no trouble whatsoever. I hope that article is OK for you and if ever you need anything in the future, please feel free to ask. Ryan Postlethwaite 03:58, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
No, no, I don't mind at all! Please feel free to ask whenever you'd like help. Cheers, and sleep well, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

It's your choice. It'll always be in the history, but you can choose whether to archive or not. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:11, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes, and regardless of the fact that that's been around since 2005 I still fall for it every time... :( oh well, haha. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:48, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Jiraiya

It's fine. More people seem to have agreed with you than they did me, so no foul on your part. I just prefer arguments with more substance than "it sounds better". ~SnapperTo 18:46, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

RE: Blanking

Hey there. The simplest way would be to access the Page history, then click on the revision you want. Then, when it takes you to that revision, click 'edit this page'. You will be editing the page as it was in that revision. Now, you can save that version (with according edit summary) and you'll have restored that version of the page. For example, say you wanted to remove my comment; in the page history, you would go to the revision by Snapper2, click on it, edit it, and save it.

There is an easier way, but it requires some fiddling around with Wikipedia code; it's very easy though. Simply put, all you have to do is go to your monobook and then follow the instructions found at WP:TWINKLE.

Hope that helps, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 21:12, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

No problem, I'm glad I could help! Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Don't worry, no question is stupid! I enjoy helping, so don't worry. Anyway, for your signature, just go to your preferences, and under the User Profile tab you should see a Signature section. A simple signature would be:

Earthbendingmaster And here's the real version: Earthbendingmaster

Where Earthbending links to your userpage and Master links to your talk page. Of course, you can change the font size, type, colour, links, and such. If you'd like any help please don't hesitate to let me know. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:16, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure! What would you like in it? Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:34, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Earth<font color=green>bending</font><font color=white>master</font> makes Earthbendingmaster
If you put that into the signature box, make sure you check Raw Signature or it won't work. Also, I made Master gray because it doesn't show up on most pages if white. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:49, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah, my fault, sorry. I forgot that the signature is a bit touchier than normal code. I tried this out and it worked; Earth<font color="green">bending</font><font color="gray">master</font>
Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 15:11, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
No problem! I just realized that I made a mistake; remove the 'User:' part from the Special:Contributions field in your signature. Sorry about that! Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 23:03, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
You don't have to know any code; the stuff I know I just picked up after some time. Stuff like , and so forth is really all the code you need to know. Complicated tables and borders aren't about memorizing the code, but more about understanding where the code has to go to work. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:38, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
See, that's a tricky question. I try to do as many various things as I can to keep things interesting; deletion debates, article improvement, categorization, vandal fighting, etc. I guess the area I'm most interested in is conflict and dispute resolution, though I wouldn't say I'm a specialist at that; I just like it. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:19, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
That would be awesome. It would be great if you could find free use images for articles to illustrate key concepts. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 05:01, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Avatar season 2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Avatar season 2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 10:06, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Template

You can certainly change it if you'd like, as I would say there is too much white space there as well. Though you'd need to break up the first line if you wanted to make a big difference. ~SnapperTo 04:06, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

If I have a user page, then Snapper stops appearing red, which takes away from my signature's prettyfullness. ~SnapperTo 04:59, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Reason For

I think we have the List of Avatar: The Last Airbender episodes because we are basing our style after the smallville episodes, seeing as they have one of the best setups on wikipedia. But ask a more seasoned editor like Fyre, or Placebo, they were editing these pages when the decision was made. Rau J16 09:33, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, the season pages are, of course, new, but I think both are definitely worth keeping. They do have some overlap, but overall they serve different purposes. The main list is an overview of everything, without more than essential details, whereas each individual season focuses in and has more detail as a result. There's also a lot more than episode list material that can eventually go into the season articles, they're still fairly "young" after all.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 16:15, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

RE: Archive

Anyone who wants to can archive an article talk page. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 23:19, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

That's it! The revision is here. You can just copy that text and paste it into the current one, if you'd like. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 23:40, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
No problem, glad to be of assistance. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 23:49, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure will. Have you decided which method you'd like to use? In terms of simplicity, I find subpages simple. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 23:58, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Pretty much all you need to do is cut all of the text you want to archive from this page and paste it into a new page, such as User talk:Earthbendingmaster/Archive 1. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 00:04, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 00:13, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Feel free! Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 01:35, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
I'd say use your discretion; how much you put on is your choice. I'd advise not to put too much information on. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 02:20, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Sounds good. Of course, not too specific; just general area would be ok. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 02:29, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't respond, my class just ended as I was opening up your talk page. Glad to see you figured it out! Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 22:32, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

To do that you shouldn't use the template namespace; rather, you can create a subpage and use it as a template. For example, if you create User:Earthbendingmaster/Header, typing will do the same thing as if you had a template named that. Hope that helps, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 23:19, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

You've got it. As long as it isn't in the template namespace it's all good. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:19, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Nope, it's all good, fear not. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:26, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Like I said, it doesn't really matter what you call them; technically, there can be no archive 0 since 0 is null, so therefore archive 0 wouldn't exist, etc. etc. However, it's your choice; I could be naming my archives User:Master of Puppets/Broccoli if I wanted to and nobody would question me, though that would be bizarre and a bit misleading. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:54, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Have you tried Web colors#X11 color names? The color values are the Hex codes; use those. If you need some that aren't there, I'd be happy to provide. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:20, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Make sure that you know what you're going to merge, and then sure, go about doing it. As long as nobody's spoken out against it. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:34, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Yup! You move all the material you want to copy from the article you're merging from to the article you're merging to. Then redirect the one you merged from to to. Hope that helps, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:39, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure, I'd love to adopt you! I'm always open to helping more people, so don't worry. And I'm glad I've been able to make the learning curve less difficult. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 05:34, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Sounds good, good night! I'll probably head off soon, too. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 05:47, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I think I forgot to say that you don't have to put 'Template' in the page's name. assumes that the page prefix is Template:, but you can specify otherwise; for example, would display your userpage as a template (essentially allowing you to transclude it). Anyway, what would you like me to change on the template? Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 00:21, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, it is your userpage, so I can't really criticize. I like the subpage idea. Generally, what you put on your userpage is your choice; some people like big userpages, some like small userpages, some don't even make userpages. All personal preference. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 05:30, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Please, don't apologize. :) I assure you that you're not bothering me in the least when you ask questions, and I'm happy to answer every single one. As for the template, how would you like me to get about doing that? Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 06:08, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
No, not at all! I'm going to be working tomorrow, so I may not be on until a bit later, but I'll be on, I assure you. :) Sleep well! Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 06:15, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
It looks good! I'll pop in to do some more work when you're done; I'll take out the links in the top left corner (unless you want them there), too. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 23:21, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure! I'm going out with some friends, so when I get back I'll be sure to. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 00:24, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm currently trawling through this, because that's the raw core for your template. I'll eliminate the parts you don't need and put it on the page in a bit. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 18:55, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh, yeah! Sorry, heh, forgot about that. Sure, I'll do that right now. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 19:00, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
I can't find the bouncing wikiglobe... hmm. I'll keep looking, but I have homework to do so it might take a bit. Sorry, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 20:13, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
I added it in; however, in Firefox at random moments it seems to stop all the links from working. I'll look around for another way to position it so that doesn't happen. And thanks for the awards! :) Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 21:39, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure about that; JavaScript is a monster to me. I don't see why not, as they're both fairly popular; try them, and if they don't, just remove them and use one of your choice I guess. Also, I fixed the globe problem on your front page. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:09, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Yup, I use Twinkle. It makes a lot of things very easy. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 04:36, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Opps

Well after a couple of thunderstorms I could finally come online. Well yes I think I am going to Japan some time in the future but study comes first. Yea I created the Espada page.--Hanaichi 06:59, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Not really lol. I can understand to a certain degree but not as good as the Japanese there would know. What about you?--Hanaichi 03:17, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Well atleast you are studying it. I don't learn, its more like I know various phrases and words from shows that I watch. Over time, I gain a basic understanding of what they are saying.--Hanaichi 03:23, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Lol I was so busy trying to revert vandalism and improve pages that I didn't bother to go look up other features. Thanks for the tips, I'll go look it up and be sure to ask you something if I'm unsure.--Hanaichi 03:55, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Archive

Yeah sure I'd like to learn how to archive a page. Do I just create a page entitled User Talk:AtTheAbyss/Archive1, or is there more to it than that? Adios amigo.--AtTheAbyss (talk) 13:10, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Okay I created it. How do I provide a link to that page like the one you have? --AtTheAbyss (talk) 14:52, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Ahh I created the page (then cut and paste) and created the Archive filing cabinet template, but now it won't link to the page. What should I do? I'll keep trying on my own, but I may need your help. --AtTheAbyss (talk) 14:57, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Question

are you editing the pictures out of the Naruto Akatsuki page? reply ASAP User talk:Nichomas

Pein

The closest I can think to give you is this. As you will see, it is all phonetic katakana for English words like "page" or "paisley". There are same words which include true hiragana, but these are odd compoud words like "pagination", which is peeji zuke. Granted, I'm a little bit unsure about some of them, because especially for katakana words, they tend to be user-submitted and awaiting some verification. However, the gist is that, while "pe" can be in Japanese words, it may not begin them - it can often begin borrowed English words, though, which was one of the original indicators that his name was almost certainly meant to be "Pain" - the "six paths" diatribe merely sealed it.Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 06:13, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Also, sorry if I came across as a bit harsh - the "dickheads" comment, along with the "consensus" bit annoyed me, and I probably unfairly lumped you in with them. Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 07:01, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Agree

Nice to see you too. I have a tip you might find helpful: if there is an article with high amounts of vandalism (like Islam) you may want to try requesting protection. Does wonders for me sometimes. BTW, have you ever checked out this unfinished portal? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 18:24, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I looked through your contribs. to see if you needed a hand, you're good though. As for protection, just follow this format, and you're good to go. (Remember to report only the pages where there is considerable amounts of disruptive activity, don't worry if your request if denied, that happens too). {^_^} Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 19:26, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
I thought about putting that incomplete portal for deletion. Not many have taken the time to help. Well, what do you think I should do? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:19, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Your RfA

Hey there, just wanted to drop you a line to recommend that you withdraw your RfA. We certainly appreciate all the positive effort you're putting forth for the project, but in general we prefer to have administrators to have several months of experience to prove that they know Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I encourage you to follow up with the adoption program, and later on, an admin coach. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me! GlassCobra 21:49, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

I just saw your withdrawn RfA. I was wondering if you would like me to help you or had any questions about how to become an admin. I trust you, but, as was said, <2000 edits and <3 months active will never pass. If you have questions, feel free to ask me. The Placebo Effect (talk) 22:09, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: (User talk:ais523) Watch list notifier

No, I don't mind if you use it; the reason I created the script in the first place is for Wikipedia users to use. I wrote the script myself (although the AJAX code in it is someone else's, which I found on WP:US). (To install it on your user account, write at the bottom of Special:Mypage/monobook.js and bypass your cache.) Hope that helps! --ais523 15:34, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

My RfA was successful, and closed with 44 Supports, 6 Opposes, and 1 Neutral. For your support, you have my thanks - I fully intend to live up to the lofty yet not-a-big-deal responsibility you have granted me. For those who opposed my candidacy, I value your input and advice, and hope that I may prove worthy of your trust. Special thanks to both Rudget and bibliomaniac15 for their expert coaching and guidance. I look forward to serving the project, my fellow editors, the pursuit of higher knowledge, et cetera, et cetera. Again, you have my thanks. RE:Admin Help

Which of the following areas/things do/have you do?

Give users warning templates?
Report to AIV
Tag Articles for Speedy Deletion
Participate in xfD
Participate in Rfa
Participate in Vandal Fighting
Requesting Page Protections

The Placebo Effect (talk) 22:00, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

OK, the next steps things that you should do is report users to WP:AIV. I am assuming you use the WP:WARN templates. If you see a user who has more than one recent tag on there page, give them the next one up and watch their contribs. Half of the time, they will continue. If the continue past the 4th warning, or are being so ovioulsy disruptive, report them to AIV. The Placebo Effect (talk) 22:21, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
OK then, the next thing you should look at is Speedy Deletion, since that is an area that admins are needed. First, read the criteria at WP:CSD. When looking for Speedy Deletable articles, use Special:Newpages. Articles that are highlighted in Orange have not been checked yet. Look at one of these articles and see if it meets the criteria or not, if it does, slap the tag on it. If it doesn't, mark the page as patrolled by clicking on the link i nthe lower right hand corner that says "Mark this page as patrolled". THis looks good when applying for adminship, cause it shows you know what is quality and what isn't. The Placebo Effect (talk) 22:29, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Besides that, you want to patrol various noticeboards and chime in on subjects you have a view about. This will allow people to see that you know policy and they will be more likly to support you when they see your name. After that, wait about 4-5 months before reapplying again, since that will show your dedication to the project. When you do feel ready, I will write a nomination statement for you so that for the people who dont like seeing self Nom RFAs. The Placebo Effect (talk) 22:41, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
There is one more thing that you could do. RfA !voters like to see candidates with a Featured Article. It's not required, since not all people can right well, but if you help on one and put enough effort into it, you can mention it in your next nomination. The Placebo Effect (talk) 22:53, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

McCain and Admin

Thank you. Maybe I should start a poll... Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 01:23, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes he will. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 01:44, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Maybe we seriously should start a poll. Do you think it should be done for only US Citizens? Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 01:51, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, of course! What should the page be entitled? Is it limited voting for only users, or IP addresses as well? Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 02:15, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah. What's the name, and how is it set up? Is it a WP page, or a mainspace page? Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 02:48, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Do you want it on yours? I'll take it if not. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 02:56, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

What do you mean by "series work"? Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 03:13, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. But I'll add the candidates names. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 03:16, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes, by all means! Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 03:19, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

With quite a bit of work, it'll be great! Do you want to vote now on the poll? Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 03:23, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it is. If you send me a message any time soon (today), I might not respond right away, for I am going to watch news coverage of Super Tuesday. Cheers, Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 03:27, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes, great! Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 03:45, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Sorry I couldn't answer I got caught up in two candidate speeches. Sure, why not move it into mainspace... Cheers again, Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 04:05, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Again

Hi, again. Thanks for the smile. So that's all we have to do for the poll? Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 21:59, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I have got my signature, that's one... maybe we should make an ad, like the Projects do, and put that on our pages. Have any more ideas? Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 22:05, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
My signature is actually at the limit of what I can write in it. If only someone dropped out... oh well. We could make a template reminding people of the page, then post that on users' talk pages. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 22:09, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah... Maybe the template should be something somewhat of a barnstar type thing. Not with a star, but with a ballot, and the text "happily" enviting people to vote. What do you think? Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 22:14, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Not at all. Maybe we could get the codes for the original barnstar, and change it... quite a bit. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 22:18, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Okay: I'll see what I can find. In the meantime, wouldn't it easier just going around posting messages reminding people to vote? Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 22:24, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
It's great! I've already told MoP, and have posted a message on my user page reminding people to vote. User:Everyking showed interest in voting, but has yet to make up his mind between two candidates. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 23:12, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
How is this:

Hello again. I just wanted to bother you invite you to vote in my "co-founded" poll for the 2008 United States Presidential Election. This is the link: Wikipedia:Presidential poll. Have a great day! Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 23:15, 6 February 2008 (UTC) I posted this on User talk:BQZip01. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 23:17, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Two people voted. We need a template for voting, thanking them. I'll copy the one existing, and put a thank you in it. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 23:46, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
I think I messed up the page (thank you, and invitation). Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 23:50, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Milk's Favorite Cookie made another template: User:Milk's Favorite Cookie/elections. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 23:54, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Have you noticed that your talk page is a bit "messed up?" I posted one of those messages on MoP's page, and it sucked everything in from below. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 00:00, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Read the "Wait!" section of my talk page, where Oreo explains how to stop it from doing that. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 00:03, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
MoP told me to mind WP:CANVASS. Just letting you know. I'm going to see if I can reword the invitation just a bit. Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 00:31, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Obviously, you got the deletion message too... Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 01:52, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

They did it.

This is what I put on our "friends" (that deleted our page) talk page:

Thank you for helping delete my page, Wikipedia:Presidential poll. I just poured so much effort into it, that I'm glad that you helped destroy it. Thanks! :) Basketball110 Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, or Paul? 01:57, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Th sasori.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Th sasori.jpg.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 02:25, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

I just noticed...

The new username. It's better than your last one IMO. I have upgraded your name on WP:WPDBZ for you (there have been new userboxes added since). So, what's up? Hit me on my talk page if you so desire. Regards, Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 06:09, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Scary, I was just about to ask you something similar (your old name is registered on Simple English Wiki). First, what were you saying regarding Yu-Gi-Oh? I watched that show a long time ago (thought it was too exaggerated and all). I do have an account on Dragon Ball wiki and Wiktionary, and was gonna set one up in Bulbapedia. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:26, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes, the "Dragon Ball, a Wikia Wiki". Recently, I intended to make an account at Simple English as well but I researched the Dragon Ball-related pages there to see if there was anyone I knew. Your name came up, as well SUIT and Recoome (as well a number of Prince Zarbon's vicious sockpuppets). Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:39, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
You know man, I don't know why people obsess over franchises like Yu-Gi-Oh and Final Fantasy (not saying you do, just people I know). There were times I loved Pokémon to death, but I was a kid. Anyway, I don't know anyone (on wiki or real-life) that likes cards enough to join. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:50, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
I happen to like a character myself. Yeah, being on wikis is fun and all, but sometimes the stress can get to you. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:14, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Max

Everything's fine. I got a few barnstars, and created a "Hidden Page" for people to find, and relieve Wiki$tress. I'm a bit upset that my school's computer was just blocked from editing Wikipedia. Oh, well. How have you been? Have you heard about -Midorihana-? B110 communicate (that means talk) 02:07, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah. I've got a "vandal" (sort of vandal) that hasn't requested me, but needs guidance. Midorihana might adopt him though. If he needs something, he asks one of us (MH or me). B110 communicate (that means talk) 02:21, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

More than 4 days, more like a week, w/ administors permission. Basketball110 :) 02:51, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
These are proposals for plans, right? Currently, the page can only be seen by administrators, right? Am I right, or not getting something? Basketball110 :) 02:55, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
I think that admins get to decide who gets in. The user must be on Wikipedia for a week, though. That's what I think it should be. Basketball110 :) 02:58, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Pretty good idea. I'll add my thoughts on the talk page. Basketball110 :) 03:04, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

I see you've got a few critics. Who came up with the idea? Basketball110 :) 03:08, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

I'll be there to support you on "someday". Basketball110 :) 03:17, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Maybe. Admin might be nice, but I'm not sure. Here's a question that (if you are in a RfA) you'll receive: "What do you consider your best edits to Wikipedia, and why?" Basketball110 :) 03:23, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Good answer. You pass all the questions the MoP got, plus "What would you do if you got into a fist fight with RuPaul," you're almost guaranteed the job! By the way, that question did come up in an RfA. Basketball110 :) 03:28, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
It was in User:Parsecboy's Rfa- here. Voting is still open. Good answer. Parsecboy said "I think that I would at all costs avoid a throwdown with RuPaul. However, if, as a last resort, I had to partake in some pugnacious pugilism, I do think I would win. In fact, I think I would make mincemeat out of him. Who knows, there may even be some floor-mopping going on as well. Why? Because I'm just that good," which seems weird, don't know why though. I actually didn't know RuPaul was a guy. Basketball110 :) 03:35, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
I've reached 3900 on my edit count (I've been tagging French commmunes with ). As I said, strange answer, yet it shows a confident admin. Do you know how MoP is doing now that he is an admin? I know he's busy. Basketball110 :) 03:40, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Okay. As just a random question, do you like the Phoenix Suns (if I misspelled PHX, I'm going to quit Wikipedia!)? Basketball110 :) 03:45, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't take it personally (the sig stuck from something I tried to sell on Amazon). I like tennis too. Something that I saw, and really was interested...  : that's the link. You might be interested in it too. Basketball110 :) 03:52, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
That's not supposed to happen! Basketball110 :) 03:54, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
The picture... it was supposed to he a link, but it turned into a monster picture. Didn't you see? I fixed it so that it ignores Wikipedia formatting, and just shows the link name. Basketball110 :) 03:57, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
I take it that it is 9 in your home, but it indeed is 10 in my home, and also time for the news. If you reply to any message I posted, I will probably read it tommorrow, and that's when I'll probably reply... probably. Cheers, Basketball110 :) 04:01, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

The short version is that pages with more than 5,000 revisions can't be deleted. The long version is that it was a terrible stunt gone wrong which you can read about here. east.718 at 21:40, February 20, 2008

Damn, that's a cool header

Anyway, non-admin closes; Wikipedia:Non-admin closure should have some advice. Generally, avoid closing unless it is uncontroversial and you can see crystal clear consensus towards a close. Hope that helps! Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 22:32, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Agreed (the header bit). That might be Chetblong's best work yet. Basketball110 hello 00:13, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
  • I have a different take on this. Some editors think that non-admins should never close or never close anything that isn't simply administrative, other editors are a bit more liberal. Please look at the discussions at WT:DELPRO and the archives as well as what it says on WP:DPR#NAC. To some extent it depends on the venue. The deletion issues are very different from one venue to another. I commonly close MfDs and TfDs and have occasionally closed other discussions, though never AfDs as I don't hang out there enough to be able to evaluate the strength of the arguments. It's also useful sometimes to check XfD closes to see if the closing admin properly tagged the talk page, etc. I understand that's automatic in AfD but in the others it is not.--Doug.(talk contribs) 17:01, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
And yes, it is a cool header. :-) --Doug.(talk contribs) 17:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Just wondering, what do you think of User talk:68.39.174.238? Do you think he/she should become an edian? Basketball110 what famous people say 03:54, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what I think. See this:
A lot of Wikipedia users want 68.39.174.238 to get an account, and this user is no exception.

Research on the RFA process

Hello, I am an anthropology student researching the Wikipedia Requests for adminship procedure. As you recently voted in this process, I was wondering if you would be willing to answer a few quick questions.

  • Do you believe that the current RFA process is an effective way of selecting admins?
  • Do you notice a difference between users who are nominated vs selfnoms?
  • Is a week an appropriate length for process? Should it perhaps be longer or shorter?
  • Do you think the user's status in the community changes while the user is undergoing the RFA process? How about after the RFA process is over?
  • Was the candidate Q&A beneficial in helping you choose to support the candidate?

If you are willing, please leave your answers on my talk page or e-mail them to me.

This research will not be published academically, as this research is primarily to demonstrate the feasibility of doing online ethnography in online only communities such as Wikipedia, though I intend to make my findings available on Wiki. Your name will not be associated with any information you provide in any published work. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you. --Cspurrier (talk) 18:46, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

RE: Freenode

lowercase takes care of that old restriction where the first letter of an article couldn't be small. Since freenode is properly spelt uncapitalized, we use it on that article; you can find it if you edit and look at the very top. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 08:00, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

RE:LocalSettings

I usually only get in 30 edits or so on weekends... wake up at 2PM, go to bed at 4 AM, mess up my sleeping pattern for the next week, repeat. So I'm like you in that respect :) Anyway, localsettings are actually server-side, I think. Can't access them from here. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:10, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

You could always theoretically install your own copy of the software and test that... I'm pretty sure there has to be a Wiki already set up for testing purposes. If you can find it, that is. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 03:23, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Star Wars

My favourite character is probably... Atton Rand from the games, probably because in my playthroughs he was the most enjoyable and complex character. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Android 18 photo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Android 18 photo.jpg.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:52, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

That's what I thought. I asked you, because MoP wasn't it, and I needed to know fast (I was nominating at RfA, but the user never had perfect). Basketball110 Go Longhorns! 01:27, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

I was browsing through all the userboxes Wikipedia has, and never saw any about owning, so I decided to create one. I haven't put it on WP:UBX yet, though. Basketball110 Go Longhorns! 02:36, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
I've included you in my ubx page. Here is the proof (the link is at what links here). Basketball110 Go Longhorns! 03:02, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Homeschooling

As a member of WikiProject Homeschooling, I would like to inform you that recently a non-member has been trying to shut down the group and merge it into WikiProject Alternative Education. The reasoning behind this, he says, is that he wants the project to include more on non-homeschooling related content like Montessori schools. I have been trying to tell the editor that our members are not interested in editing non-homeschooling related articles as our Collaboration of the Month, (especially when our project is going along fine and considerably improving articles like the homeschooling article). I have proposed a proposal that would leave WikiProject Homeschooling how it is so we can continue with our work. But please remember that I didn't come here to ask you to just vote for it; instead, I want you to consider both options equally and decide for yourself, and discuss the proposal with other users if you disagree with any part of it. You can read and comment on it here. Please note that it is the one that says "Proposal by Diligent Terrier (2)". Cheers! DiligentTerrier and friends 13:52, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Not to be a deletionist but...

...doesn't it seem as if we could merge a lot of the articles into one another. For instance, a lot of the information in Air Nomads, Water Tribes, Fire Nation, and Earth Kingdom are speculation that might not even be true. It would make the article much more accurate if we merged it into one article like Avatar: The Last Airbender universe or Four nations of Avatar: The Last Airbender (I am not a good article-name-maker). Just wanted some comments. (Just as a note, I do not plan on merging the character articles or anything like that.) Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 03:50, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

You are probably right. I also am not a good article namer. Maybe Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. Probably more than the Nation articles could be merged too. Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 03:54, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
I am going to move this discussion into the a full discussion. Parent5446 (t n c k e l) 03:57, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Happy Basketball110's 8901st Edit! Seeing as his 8900th edit was here, he couldn't give that edit to you, so he gave you 8901! Every time he reaches another 101 edits, he celebrates it on the talkpage of someone he know. Cheers, Basketball110 17:43, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Sorry the 110 doesn't show up: it's orange on orange. How are things going? Basketball110 17:43, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Hokay, so

Restored it. If it gets deleted again I'm going to delete the main page or something... grr. Just kidding! If there's anything else I can do feel free to let me know! :) Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :D 22:28, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Maximillion Pegasus at it.wiki

It.wiki username is now available for your global account. Ciao, Ary29 (talk) 18:48, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

la.wiki

So the Maximillion Pegasus on the Latin Wikipedia is someone else? How did that happen? Adam Bishop (talk) 02:52, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Oh, weird. I thought it was just two random words stuck together, and it seemed unlikely that someone else would come up with the same name, but I see it's a Yu-gi-oh character now. I'll change it when I get a chance. Adam Bishop (talk) 02:17, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, one more thing...do you have a username on la.wiki that you want renamed? Do you usually edit la.wiki? Adam Bishop (talk) 09:09, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh, well then is it really necessary to have an account there? Adam Bishop (talk) 22:57, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, you don't really need it; SUL will still work everywhere else (I have a different la.wiki name, actually.) The other MP might come back, and since you don't edit there, you'll never notice. Adam Bishop (talk) 05:13, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
But what difference does it make if your SUL is complete? Especially for Wikipedias you don't edit? Adam Bishop (talk) 05:14, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
No. Adam Bishop (talk) 15:47, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
I already told you why twice. You don't use the Latin Wikipedia, and SUL doesn't need to be complete in order for you to use it on the Wikipedias you actually do edit. Adam Bishop (talk) 15:54, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

You know, this is really not worth the effort by either of us. I'm telling you, it makes no difference for Wikipedias you don't even use. What is the problem? Are you looking at some image somewhere and you want it to be all pretty and there is one red dot that is bothering you? I don't get it. Adam Bishop (talk) 01:19, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Mozart Church Sonatas

Hi. I've seen that you've started to create stub articles for Mozart's Church Sonatas. How in depth do you expect these articles to be? They are single movement pieces and I read very little about them individually. Do you think it would make more sense to collect all of into a single article, say Church Sonatas (Mozart)? Cheers.DavidRF (talk) 02:10, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Hmmm, you might have something there. How would one organize them and are there any other specifics you are thinking of? Thanks, :) Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 19:56, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. MBisanz talk 02:17, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
