The 2022–23 season is Liverpool Football Club's 131st season in existence and their 61st consecutive season in the top flight of English football. In addition to the domestic league, they are also participating in this season's editions of the FA Cup, EFL Cup and UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool kicked off the season with a 3–1 victory over Premier League champions Manchester City in the FA Community Shield for their 16th Community Shield and 68th official trophy, the latter being an English record.
The season is the first since 2015–16 without Sadio Mané, who transferred for Bayern Munich, and the first since 2014–15 without Divock Origi, who departed to AC Milan.
