:::I would disagree with that presumption. Per [[WP:DUPCAT]], "there is no need to take pages out of the parent category ''purely'' because of their membership of a non-diffusing subcategory". Because there are only limited number of subcategories and their exact further subcategorization type (ie by country, by genre, by format, etc), it does not make sense to remove them from the main category. Why would {{cl|2007 films}} contain all 2007 films except Japanese films? And there ''are'' discussions pertaining to this topic, albeit not about year and not using the terminology. Thanks for the move. I should have done so myself months ago. I just revised the article. What do you think of it? There have been no news about this film for almost a year. Should I nominate the article for deletion? I personally think it would be a pity if the content would be deleted. Perhaps I should userfy the article, with a hidden comment at Mulan (disambiguation), so that if somebody will ever recreate the page and reinsert the link at the disambig, he/she will be pointed at my userfied content? Cheers, theFace 20:49, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- You could put it up for deletion, but I have a feeling that it would result in a redirect to either Jan de Bont or Zhang Ziyi. It is up to you, but see for yourself if it meets WP:GNG and WP:NF. BOVINEBOY2008 15:09, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited Love Eterne (film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Accolade (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

WP:Film Assessment
Hello. I hope you can take off a little bit of time to assess the article Chennai Express under the WP:Film banner in its talk page. Its a relatively recent Core article, and once more news comes in, the article will increase in content.
I also have a small request: Could you glance through the article Ra.One, and give your thoughts as to whether it is near completion for FA status. I would like an unofficial opinion before I go for an RFC.
Thank you in advance. ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 07:12, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Your Edits to The Best and the Brightest (film)
Thanks for going through the article The Best and the Brightest (film) . I have a few questions regarding your edits to it:
1. Why did you remove ratings/citations from imdb, given I don't see any consensus against sourcing imdb? This spawns a question: Is there any policy on such citations/ratings that I am missing?
2. Why did you remove tag to 'independent films'? Is there a policy against it?
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mittgaurav (talk • contribs) 17:32, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Moved article
Why did you move the article Me at the Zoo (documentary) to Me at the Zoo (film)? I did inform myself at WP:NCF, but I've seen other documentaries articles with Title (documentary) and there's no other articles with Title (film) or Title. So why the move? Proper Wikipedia guidelines? Devin Davis (talk) 19:57, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
- There is consensus against using (documentary) as a disambiguator. From WP:NCF: "If the film is not the primary topic, name its:: article after the film's title with '(film)' added at the end." You will see that all of the GA-class film articles that are not primary topic use the disambiguator "(film)" or "(XXXX film)". If you see articles with "documentary" as the parenthetical disambiguation, please feel free to move them to their proper location. There has been a recent discussion here on the matter. The article Adrenium Games has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable company. Unreferenced stub for three years
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thompson Is Right (talk) 12:17, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Nomination of List of films considered the best for deletion
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of films considered the best is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of films considered the best until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Hi, I just updated the entry for Doonby following the film's limited release last week and I'm not sure if the cats need updating. Hi
You probably get asked a lot, I did read some of the other comments, but cannot see a similar reason as to why you removed the film by year from that article. They were both released in 2011.
If this is part of some project's decision, is it worth adding a little note on the template talk page(s) so we can easily find out why people might be removing them? Chaosdruid (talk) 01:36, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Easy one.Found enough English and enough non-English sourcing. Will be on it later tonight. Best, 02:46, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
It seems Humanity's End was an overall poor film that did not meet with reviewer expectations. Even with that, there does seem to be just enough about this crappy film to meet WP:NF. Thus, the unsourced 28 word stub you nominated has been undergoing improvements with a 29x or 34x expansion (depending on if you count characters or words).[2] If kept, care to help out with a suitable DYK for this? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 01:27, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Looks like you've done a great job finding sources for this article. I guess my search just was not complete enough. I fully support you taking it to DYK, but I have no desire to do so. BOVINEBOY2008 01:41, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks much. I would have done it yesterday, but was exhausted from a film shoot. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:37, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Summer (2011film)
Hi BB. Could you take a look at the page move you did again, please? I've made a move request on the talkpage. Maybe I've overlooked something, but I think 2011 is the correct year. And yes, I messed up moving the article to the current title of Summer (2011film)! Thanks. Lugnuts (talk) 09:19, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
My Name Is Khan
You just removed seven good references from the article along with that table. First, please provide a link to the consensus, because not everyone has seen it, and more importantly, kindly use the talk page before removing valid sourced information, if only because format reasons. BollyJeff | talk 01:25, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- The most recent discussion about it can be found here. I will work on incorporating the references into the prose of the review section. BOVINEBOY2008 02:00, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- That was a pretty small discussion (I would say too small for consensus), and the one it referenced was for an already deleted template. Many Indian films are not covered well in Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, so we need to kind of make our own aggregator. This template's article Template:Film_ratings says it's okay to use with, or as a supplement to prose, just not alone. Any review that is covered in the prose should be able to go into the template as well for quick reference, don't you think? BollyJeff | talk 20:32, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- I think it is convenient, but none of the Good Aritlces in the film project use a table, and I know there have been other discussions that have basically come to the same conclusion that I already linked. I would say bring it up on the project talk page. I can see advantages and disadvantages either way. BOVINEBOY2008 20:44, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Knife That Killed Me film release date
When I created the page, I put the release date in the infobox as August 1st; however I then spoke with Marcus Romer, the director, who informed me of the official, unreleased, Spring 2013 release and preferred for it to say this. I was able to change the infobox but not the main article on my portable device. I'm going to change it back and decided to tell you in case you intended to change it back again. Also, if it hasn't already been changed would you change it in the main article (March/ Spring 2013). Thanks Hannahlouise mickleburgh (talk) 12:01, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Discuss: is the writer and director enough authority to have informed me of the release date, or wait for the release of the release date. Could we add a section on speculation of the release date? (Using, of course, both the sources which tell us there was a screening three days ago, a release dated August 1st this year, a promotion simply stating 'Autumn', and Romer saying March 2013.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hannahlouise mickleburgh (talk • contribs) 15:53, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- We are supposed to use sources other than the primary source (ie director, producer). We should wait until there is coverage, or the distribution company releases a date. And to be clear, it should be a date, not a year or a season. A month and a year usually warrants enough notability, though. BOVINEBOY2008 15:58, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

This film is actually a bilingual, made in Tamil and Malayalam languages with two different titles but everything including the cast and crew are the same. I included the information about both the films in the same article but you seemed to remove every details of the Tamil version. Should I start a new article for the Tamil film or can I restore the data in this article itself? Madvirgin (talk) 14:41, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- Is the Malayalam a remake or a redub? BOVINEBOY2008 14:46, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- The film was simultaneously made in both languages without any change in the cast even. Madvirgin (talk) 14:58, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- You can go ahead and include the information in the article, I wouldn't split it. I guess I misunderstood what it was. However, I would be more clear in the article about what the topic is on. Use only one title as the main reference (and in the infobox) and then mention the other language title in the lede. And be clear about what you mean by bilingual. When I hear that, I think it is one film that uses two main languages about equally, which is not the situation. BOVINEBOY2008 16:04, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- This film hasn't released in theatres yet. Oneindia.in has given it wrong. Madvirgin (talk) 19:17, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

You recently moved Smiley (film) to Smiley (1956 film), but you failed to follow Wikipedia custom as outlined at WP:USURPTITLE: please modify all incoming links to point to the new name.
In my opinion, the move was unnecessary and this follow-up work could have been avoided: a simple hatnote at the 1956 film pointing to the 2012 film would have sufficed. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 06:59, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

- Game that was never released, almost no exact hits on this game on Google, fails WP:GNG and WP:CRYSTAL
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Secret account 15:41, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

- Browser not saving edit? Which browser? I am preparing to start one more article on a cinema hall (uniplex) of Kolkata which has a rich history of promoting good and artistic films. As usual, there are not too many good online sources for Indian articles. But, I think I can prepare a stub at least. But, the problem I am facing is I can not understand what to name the article, I have thought these names 1) Priya Cinema, Kolkata (this is my best choice) 2) Priya Cienma Hall, Kolkata (Cinema itself means Cinema hall, but some people also take "Cinema" for "Film" or "Movie"). 3) Priya cinema, Kolkata (cap alternative of 1) 4) Priya cinema hall, Kolkata (cap alternative of 2, looks dull) 5) Priya entertainments (no one calls the hall by this name other than few pages of official website). Any suggestion? --Tito Dutta ✉ 22:33, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:No Distance.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Redirects for Ram Leela (Film)
Hi Bovineboy2008, the shooting for the movie Ram Leela (film) is currently underway. It started in the first week of September. Its IMDB page is of 3rd Aug 2012 and has not yet been updated. Here is a current source. Surinder.wadhawan (talk) 13:12, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
Hi there. I noticed that you moved Kon-Tiki (film) to Kon-Tiki (1950 film), and redirected Kon-Tiki (film) to the disambig-page. This resulted in all the wikilinks to the old film, instead linking to the disambig page. I have now cleaned up after your move, but the next time you perform such a move, you should fix all the wikilinks aswell. Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 11:50, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

I agree that Above the Fold was problematic under WP:NFF, specially as IT can only be sourced as receiving some funding. But because the earlier short film received acknowledgement and accolades, and because the planned longer remake is based upon the same circumstances, I have re-written the nominated article to change its focus... changing the nominated article which ran afoul of WP:NYF into THIS one about the precursor film. I have explained my reasoning and suggested options at the AFD. If you withdraw your nomination and close the AFD, I'd be happy to perform the suggested moves and redirects. What say? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 20:28, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sounds like you have this one figured out Michael. I just don't have the Google-fu that you have. I withdraw the nomination. BOVINEBOY2008 20:30, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Your google-fu is just fine... simply that the planned film lacks the coverage that its precurser has and because both were from the same filmmaker about the same film topic, it was easier to rewrite what we had rather than start from scratch. Best.Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 20:42, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- All done. If or when the remake is filmed and receives coverage, someone can always overwrite the redirect with new content about a new films. :) Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 20:52, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sounds great. While you're at it, could you look at My Brother, Borat? It seems this was a planned unofficial sequel to Borat but it doesn't seem to have ever happened and parts of the article are not sourced. I think it would be best to merge it with Erkin Rakishev until it actually has a release, if that happens. BOVINEBOY2008 22:10, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Well... it seems the topic received a great deal of publicity[4][5] which inexplicably faded away after 2010,[6][7] perhaps due to trying to actually make a film in that part of the world.[8][9] I think that as we have a film, that even if made has not been released, we have a failure of WP:NFF and WP:NYF... BUT, that kind of publicity for a made-yet-unreleased film would qualify for keep per WP:EXCEPTIONS. No doubt at all that the topic is notable. I think whatever might be included for in the Erkin Rakishev article should be... and perhaps something in the current Borat article under either 'contrversy' or 'unauthorised sequel', and then the might be boldly sent to the incubator to await actual release. Better perhaps to simply tag uncited portions for the needed citatons. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 00:10, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sounds logical. I'm just trying to make my way through Category:Upcoming films and seeing anything that has the tag that has been canceled or has received a release that was not notable. BOVINEBOY2008 01:24, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- Well... it seems the topic received a great deal of publicity[4][5] which inexplicably faded away after 2010,[6][7] perhaps due to trying to actually make a film in that part of the world.[8][9] I think that as we have a film, that even if made has not been released, we have a failure of WP:NFF and WP:NYF...

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Christopher Plummer, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages The Philadelphia Story and Cyrano de Bergerac (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Without a Net (film)
I noticed that this film entry was recently PRODed for "fails WP:FILM". It is still a stub but seems to be a "keeper" to me, but I can't claim to be up on film. Could you please take a quick look? Thanks. --Big_iron (talk) 10:45, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
TV film/Television film
Sorry, I didn't check the revision history on Jacqueline Bisset to see that you had recently changed the names to "Television film." In my tweaking the filmography I changed all of them to "TV film." I didn't do it on purpose; If I had known you preferred it as "Television film" I would have kept it that way. Please change it back if you want to. Shipofcool (talk) 01:58, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Life Of Pi (film)
Responding to your Undo of my edit. The purpose of the edit at issue, as with all appropriate Wikipedia edits, is to deepen the article with valuable information. The article on Life Of Pi (film) currently lists only a release date for the movie in the US. A link to release dates in other countries seems entirely reasonable and of great interest to the many Wikipedia users who reside in other countries. Such information is encyclopedic in nature and reasonable as an External Link since setting forth release dates for multiple countries in the article itself would be unwieldy. Thanks for your consideration and concern. The entry you refer to is by no means vandalism. Tuscanylight (talk) 03:06, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

help needed
Hi Bovineboy2008. I have uploaded a file "File:Banaz A love Story.jpg" and tried to paste it on the "Banaz: A Love Story" page, but it does not show there.Secondly, this is in fact the official poster of the film, I have asked Deeyah, the film maker to use this here on wikipedia, she told me to do so and release the picture. But I don't know how to do that. Can you please ask her to confirm it and you do those formalities of filling those details here. Her email id is deeyah@deeyah.comMehmda (talk) 11:08, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

Infobox Korean File
Bovineboy, please STOP changing "Infobox Korean Film" into "Infobox Film". There are advantages to have the Korean film style infobox for Korean films. By changing this you delete the name of the film in Hanguel, Hanja, and both sets of romanizations, all of which were added by various Wiki editors. Thank you for understanding. ₪RicknAsia₪ 05:11, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Rick. While I appreciate you telling me your opinion on the matter, there was consensus to merge infoboxes together, which is what I am currently doing. If you disagree with it, please bring it up at Template talk:Infobox film or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film. Thank you for understanding. BOVINEBOY2008 11:15, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, I'm sorry. I honestly I had no idea there was a discussion on this. I just saw that a bunch of work was disappearing. I looked into the discussions and found while people were in favor with merging there was no resolution with how it should be carried out. You gave me the option to bring this topic back (start a new topic) on those pages and I am glad to do that. Until there is a fresh debate on this can you please refrain from further merging of the Korean pages? I would really appreciate that. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly and letting me know about the debates. ₪RicknAsia₪ 02:46, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- Of course I will refrain from making these changes until we have further consensus. I will weigh in with my two cents on the weekend. Thank you! BOVINEBOY2008 12:29, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Narutolovehinata5. I noticed that you recently removed some content from A Certain Magical Index without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Next time, if you will remove any "films" categories, please explain in your edit summary why you are doing so. Thank you and happy editing! Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:46, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

Pokémon films
But Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice is also released in December 8, 2012 in American films will be broadcast on Cartoon Network in the United States. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucasmoura (talk • contribs) 19:19, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- That doesn't mean it is a Cartoon Network film. It is a Japanese film and is being released into cinemas in Japan. Secondary releases, be it on the same day, do not count in categorization. You can, of course, introduce it in the prose.
And that doesn't explain why you added the category to the 6~7 previous Pokemon films. BOVINEBOY2008 19:23, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
You don't delete all Pokémon movies in american films!!!!
But I also like it because they are also part of the american films you idiot!
- I don't understand your comment. Can you please clarify? BOVINEBOY2008 23:44, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
I need to clarify because I want to put the Pokémon movies in U.S. films also — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucasmoura (talk • contribs) 00:30, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- But they are not American films. They produced by Japanese companies, and created by Japanese artists. Just because they are shown and might be popular in the US does not make them American films. And please remember to sign your posts using four "~". BOVINEBOY2008 00:33, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
By year film supercats
Perhaps you should read WP:FILMCAT for yourself. Not where does it state that the "year by" supercats are non-diffused nor are those categories tagged with {{All included}}. Also WP:FILMCAT states at WP:FILMCAT#Categorizing entire sub-categories that "if every article in a category belongs to another category, it is sufficient to nest the categories directly, rather than double-categorizing each individual article," which is a restatement of WP:CATEGORY#Subcategorization. As worded, placing articles in both the super and sub categories is contrary to both guidelines. —Farix (t | c) 01:04, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- Perhaps this needs to be discussed further, but my interpretation of the guideline and from multiple discussions on the talk page was that the three main categories should not be removed. It was a convenience to keep all 2007 films in Category:2007 films, for example, and then allow for further subcategorization. I'm willing to discuss it and I put a comment up on WT:FILM earlier, but only one user responded. Do you want me to bring it up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film/Categorization? BOVINEBOY2008 01:08, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- I understand the convince part. I frequently monitor Category:Anime series, Category:Anime OVAs, and Category:Manga series for vandalism and other bad edits. However, those categories do not have a very developed "by date" subcategories (though I'm slowly working on it) and there is an ongoing discussion about whether to mark them as non-diffused or not. I have looked over WP:FILMCAT's talk page and archives and saw no similar discussion about whether the top level categories, so the presumption is that they are diffused categories. —Farix (t | c) 01:31, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
- I would disagree with that presumption. Per WP:DUPCAT, "there is no need to take pages out of the parent category purely because of their membership of a non-diffusing subcategory". Because there are only limited number of subcategories and their exact further subcategorization type (ie by country, by genre, by format, etc), it does not make sense to remove them from the main category. Why would Category:2007 films contain all 2007 films except Japanese films? And there are discussions pertaining to this topic, albeit not about year and not using the terminology. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Film/Categorization#Australian film categories, Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Film/Categorization#Splitting categories. BOVINEBOY2008 01:41, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

You cannot delete pokémon films but they are japanese films but also american films.
