User Goalsmini changed the subject's birth year to 1983 simply because the user felt "she is not that old." Stacy Ferguson, based upon the cited reference (and references all over the place) was born in 1975. I've fixed her birth year in line with citations. Requested move 27 February 2015
- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Not moved. There is consensus that the current disambiguator is better than the proposed one, and also no consensus for the altnernative suggestion of making this a primary topic. (non-admin closure) — Amakuru (talk) 10:23, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
Fergie (singer) → Fergie (entertainer) – See Glostix's reasons below, I'm just filling up the template. Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 16:42, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
Fergie (singer) → Fergie (entertainer) for the pure and simple fact; prior to joining the all female R&B and pop girl group Wild Orchid in 1992; Fergie was a child actress who lent her voice to such roles as Sally Brown in 1984-1986 and was a regular on the American programme Kids Incorporated from 1984 - 1989; albeit Fergie is most commonly known as a singer/rapper I do suggest we change it to (entertainer) as she has done more than just sing/rap. Glostix (talk) 17:00, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- Support. Glostix's reason sounds good enough. – nafSadh did say 21:33, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Comment. Note that there have been several move requests. See at the top of the page. --Edgars2007 (talk/contribs) 22:19, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Strong Oppose per English sources, where the singer is not known as an "entertainer". User:Nafsadh please check to see whether zero results for "the entertainer Fergie" or "the singer Fergie" 356 hits is more common in Google Books. In ictu oculi (talk) 05:22, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- The question is, whether classifying her as singer accurate or we more generic term entertainer applies. No doubt most people know her for her singing career; but that won't change the fact that her other forms of entertaining activities are also known. – nafSadh did say 06:12, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- User:Nafsadh the description "the entertainer X" in English is used to refer to all-rounders, music hall and vaudeville, comedy singers and so on, it isn't used for mainstream popsingers such as Fergie except in hagiographic sources. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:47, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

- Comment. In addition to that, she regularly hosts/appears Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve and starred in a mid-budget film called Grindhouse on Planet Terror (2007) dir. by Robert Rodriguez. In my opinion, I think it is both valid to either call her an singer or an entertainer, but she's no Madonna.Smarty9108 (talk) 23:04, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose - Everyone knows her as a singer and pretty much that only. –Davey2010Talk 06:44, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Comment. But why does it have to be what mostly the General public thinks or considers her? Just asking kindly. Smarty9108, Discuss with me 23:03, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. She's known mostly as a singer than anything else --wL<speak·check> 23:16, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Suggestion: how about just Fergie with no brackets? Cause she's clearly the most famous person known as just Fergie. Unreal7 (talk) 12:49, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- Support move to "Fergie" per Unreal7. Definitely the primary topic, so no DAB needed. Snuggums (talk / edits) 00:50, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose - Leave it as "Fergie (singer)". Regardless of how she got her start in show-business (as an actress while a child), she is now primarily known as a singer, as a member of the Black-Eyed Peas. I also oppose renaming this article as simply "Fergie". The Duchess of York was more widely & popularly known as "Fergie" before Miss Ferguson was. Many people will put in "Fergie" to look for any number of biographical articles. To forestall possible confusion between all the various Fergies, Fergie should be reserved for the present disambiguation page. Shearonink (talk) 01:57, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose She is still primarily known as a singer. Furthermore, despite the (unsupported) claims above, there is no clear primary topic, so the main Fergie page should remain as a disambiguation. - Arjayay (talk) 09:35, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
Religion in infobox?
Seeking consensus as to whether or not her religion should be included in the infobox. Shearonink (talk) 02:01, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- No. Even many users said it should not be added for necessary reasons. Smarty9108 (talk) 02:07, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- For the same type of reasons I gave at Mariah Carey's talk page, it's not worthy of including in Fergie's infobox. Snuggums (talk / edits) 02:10, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'm interested in why it is not worthy. If someone's parents are listed in the infobox as is the case with many biographical articles, why not their religion? What makes parents any more noteworthy than the religion? Shearonink (talk) 02:19, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'm actually laughing upon why Seth MacFarlane's religion is listed on his infobox. Smarty9108 (talk) 02:22, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- Or used to be. Smarty9108 (talk) 02:23, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

2003–2006: Success with The Black Eyed Peas
Second paragraph of this section is very confusing... singles for Monkey Business album are listed out of order. Oh no! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.252.132.6 (talk) 15:36, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
Fergie is not 34, she is 45. Fix the DOB and age.
Mario Lopez dated her and had her first kiss with her in 1984 - she would have been 1 year old if the current page is true. YUCK! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fergieisold (talk • contribs) 22:37, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
DOB is incorrect based on cited references
Based off all the listed reference links fergie should be listed as born in 1975 making her 42 years old. Mamawirt (talk) 07:57, 31 December 2017 (UTC)
DOB fixed in line with reference
User Goalsmini changed the subject's birth year to 1983 simply because the user felt "she is not that old." Stacy Ferguson, based upon the cited reference (and references all over the place) was born in 1975. I've fixed her birth year in line with citations.
