Graphic requests, all welcome will complete as soon as humanly possible, please be patient.
Thank you, Sodacan

P.S. No personal or private stuff, only valid encyclopaedic and Wikipedia requests.

For Russia, With Love

I recently tried to download and deconstruct the existing files of the arms of Kazan and the minor and emperor's arms of the Russian empire, but they proved frustrating to work with, so could you redo them? I have found your vector graphics excellent in quality, but also in ease of deconstruction. 130.85.251.133 (talk) 03:42, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dominica!

The arms of Dominica presently available on the nation's page on the 'pedia are a small, crappy GIF; do you think, using the existing GIF and image sources from the government of Dominica, that you could SVG-up the arms? 130.85.58.235 (talk) 06:13, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Supporters?

I do genuinely admire your work and its quality! However, I find that some of the supporters in your arms, while similarly well-rendered, are not accessible as solo files. Do you think you could make a heraldic antelope, jaguar (such as in Guyana's arms), and natural leopard (not like a lion), all in the rampant position but not such as might support a shield? I would very much appreciate that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.129.125.199 (talk) 21:28, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed for vectorizing the the heraldic symbols

Hi Sodacan, Was wondering if you have time to help vectorize the following JPEG of Sibiu city.

here is the link to JPEG : http://romaniancoins.org/anexe/stemasibiu.jpg

I would really appreciate your help.

Thank you,

Photos/Graphics for Kachin Conflict

Dear Sodacan, I saw that you were interested in Burmese/Thai relations and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind helping to work on some of the Burma/Myanmar Conflict pages (Kachin Conflict or Internal conflict in Burma). These pages have almost no graphics at all and could really use some contributions. There are no images currently on Wiki Commons for these conflicts so it might be tough but it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hazelmelba2 (talkcontribs) 11:41, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sodacan, I hope you can re-edit the British Hong Kong Emblem from the wikipedia, which is really far from good quality. Here is a picture link for you to edit, this picture is more official.....with more British feeling.....

Would you be up to making SVGs of the Coat of arms of the Autonomous Region of Madeira? It would be great.

File:Wappen Wanfried.png

Hi Sodacan,

thanks for your marvellous work. This current nomination has brought me here. Would be awesome if you could work on a SVG file of this coat of arms. Wanfried is a small town in Hesse, Germany and its article is available in 14 languages so far - I hope this satisfies the encyclopaedic value of the image. Secretary of State seals

Been holding this one back for a long time. Could you please (when you have time) make the two seals of the Delaware Secretary of State that you can see in this announcement PDF regarding the Office's new seal? If anybody can do it, I figured it would be you :) Fry1989 eh? 00:43, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

3 coats of arms

Hi there, would you be up to making SVGs of Alexander MacDonald of Islay, Earl of Rossseal,so if yes here it is which on the "north west" has the Highland galley or birlinn from the MacDonald arms and on the high left the Ross arms below on the left the seal bares the leslie "belt" which has 3 blue stars on each side of the "belt" see seal image and finally the south west of the seal bears the Buchan arms .

Thank you so much see I'm new to inkscape and to be honest i can't even crop an image so thanks again for your time!!--Cormag100 (talk) 23:14, 23 February 2012 (UTC) PS I'll have to think of some kind of noble heraldic award for you!!![reply]

I just wanted to say that your work is unbelievable! The stuff you make is gorgeous and so complex. I have one request and that's for a svg of the Coat of arms of the Seychelles. Orders of Portugal

Mr. Sodacan,

First off, I must say that your work is absolutely wonderful. I have found that you have created many wonderful heraldic items, and I was wondering if you could create heraldic collars for the orders of Portugal:

I am unaware whether you make only coats of arms and such or whether you also make such accessories. I find that these collars could be useful in creating a well done Portuguese coat of arms as well as for other coat of arms that these collars pertain to.

Thank you, Cristiano Tomás (talk) 22:37, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian Heralds

Would you be willing to make SVG files of the badges of the Canadian Heralds. I have hires scans of the artwork for each, but these are not public domain and so I cannot post them on to Wikipedia or Wikicommons. I could however put them on a private webserver for you to download from purely to act as guidance for creating the SVGs, as long as you promise not to distribute the original scans. The resulting SVGs can then be used for the appropriate articles on Wikipedia. You can email me at graham@flags.net so I can arrange to get the scans to you if you are interested in taking on this project. GrahamBartram (talk) 23:28, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

British royalty

Okay I will answer some stuff here, I have thought about all of these before. Some of the arms requested such as those of Sarah Ferguson (use as wife of Prince Andrew from 1986-1996) and Camila Shand (used from 1947-1973) is not particularly notable or useful. Ferguson uses the arms we have now, there is no need to add another, she is not a monarch or a historical enough person to require different versions of her arms, what she uses now is what counts. This is the same for Camilla, women, especially young women don't really bear arms at all, if they do they use those of their father's. Usually in English heraldry a women's armorial bearings only becomes important when she marries and have a husband to impaled the arms with. However these are all valid requests and I am not turning them down, just they are not too high a priority (sorry) :(
The Canadian request is very interesting, and I have thought about this and have been asked before. However the main issue remaining is copyright, I do not want to spend days drawing something that would then be deleted by an admin because it breaks the law, I need to make sure of this. Furthermore the Canadian Wikipedians are particular about these things and I doubt whether they will ever accept what ever I draw, it would be a shame if I produced something and it is flatly rejected. There are many other countries with no coat of arms or emblem at all. Malawi and Vanuatu does not yet have a high quality rendering, so these and other similar countries are my priority right now. Sodacan (talk) 11:53, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
All of the requests have been done, either by Sodacan or the other users. Many thanks. Keivan.fTalk 01:48, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Medieval Norwegian arms

Haakon IV

Hi Sodacan. Can you make a svg of these arms? They are the arms of Haakon IV of Norway, drawn by Matthew Paris in the mid 13th century. I'll try and hunt down a sourced blazon for you. I'd like an svg of the shield to put into an infobox.--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 08:48, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are apparently two shields for Haakon drawn by Paris. Here they are:
  • Chronica Majora - folio 216v - gules, three galleys with dragon heads at each end or, one above the other. (this must the one we've got a picture of)
  • Historia Anglorum - folio 150 - gules, three galleys or, above the first a cross formy argent.

The source for these blazons is a book on GoogleBooks: The Art of Matthew Paris in the Chronica Majora, by Suzanne Lewis, University of California Press, 1987, ISBN 9780520049819. The first blazon is found on page 456; the second on page 467. If you could create these that'd be cool. The first one is apparently Haakon's coronation arms.--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 09:39, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

British Badges, Heralder & Requests

Can you give me a huge favour please, please...? You are the master of the British badges and insignia, it is your own graphic land.

I was cheking links for the Spanish military agencies emblems when I found this:

  • Mi6 Emblem: It's fine, less eye-catching but It's the second UK Intelligence Agency

National COAs

Hi Sodacan, I was reading your comments about how you were focusing on countries that didn't have high res coat of arms and I wanted to tell you that I thought about this issue too. I made a category on Commons for nations whose coa aren't in svg formats. (Here's the page) I think every country on Wikipedia should at least have a svg version of their national coat of arms. I've been wanting to work on some of them but I'm not skilled enough to do the complicated ones. --Turn685 (talk) 02:07, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lozenge

Hello Sodacan,

Not so much a request, more asking for information. Have you ever done a lozenge with a double tressure flory counterflory as in Royal Scottish or Buchanan? If so can you give me a link?

I am hoping to write a page about Peter Whannell alias Buchanan and his descendants. He matriculated arms in Scotland in 1776 under the name of Whannell alias Buchanan. Or a lion rampant Sable armed and langued Gules between three crescents of the same a double tressure flory counterflory of the second.

All his granddaughters made good marriages and were heraldic heiresses. Can you help me? Kiltpin (talk) 14:50, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sodacan,

is it possible please to vectorise the arms of Benjamin Pingo (1749-1794), Rouge Dragon Pursuivant (1780-1786) and York Herald (1786-94). I am an ancestor of one of his brothers and I am planning to use the arms in a Wikipedia article about him.

Arms of the County of Carmarthenshire

Sodacan, Is it possible for you to recreate the coat of arms of Carmarthenshire?

Arms and Crest originally granted 28th August 1935 to the former County Council (abolished 1974). The arms and crest were transferred by Royal Licence to the unitary Carmarthenshire County Council created in 1996, and the supporters and a heraldic badge granted in 1997. The gold lions and indented division are derived from the arms of Rhys ap Tewdwr and his grandson the Lord Rhys. The design is completed by red Welsh dragons. The crest is a Welsh dragon supporting a harp, for Carmarthenshire’s musical traditions. The supporters represent Wales (the dragon) and the sea (the seahorse). They are chained to signify protection and stability.

This is the current one on Wikipedia - File:Carmarthenshire-arms.png as you can see it is quite bad quality and your fantastic art work would greatly improve the wiki for Carmarthenshire.

Thank you so much --Cfnbryn (talk) 19:37, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mughal icons and symbols

I am interested in reforming much of the wikipedia content on the Mughals and the Mughal Empire. And after asking around I have seen that your graphics are the best, so I present the following requests.

For the page on Mughal Emperors, I am wanting to add a svg version of their official seal. I've managed to track down the seal of Shah Jahan in a large picture and would be quite grateful if you could try to make a vector image like that of the Thai Kings you've done. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Seal-Mughal-emperors-India-Bellin-1752-/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjAw/$%28KGrHqNHJBkE7%29ztiWPdBPC%29Cs6Ft!~~60_57.JPG

A coloured version is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wellcomeimages/2516114718/

Though that one is of his son but the general design of the seals has remained the same.

Also, could this image be vectorized into a heraldic emblem?

Hi Sodacan, I'm not sure if you would be able to do this or not but I was wondering if you could possibly make more updated coat of arms for the family of The Tudors [you did the lovely arms for Henry VIII, his children, and all six wives] such as Margaret Tudor; some do not even have any like Mary Tudor, Queen of France as Queen of France and Duchess of Suffolk; Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk; Lady Jane Grey; etc. Would be greatly appreciated! Request for Full Achievement of Cyril Newall, 1st Baron Newall

Dear Sodacan,

I am a long time follower and admirer of your work. I humbly request that you create a full achievement for Cyril Newall, 1st Baron Newall including crest, supporters , and motto. The current displayed arms lack the aforementioned and display only the escutcheon.

Coat of arms of Sodacan/Requests
Notes
The arms of Cyril Newall Arms consist of:
Crest
Issuant from an astral crown Or an eagle, wings elevated Sable breathing flames proper.
Escutcheon
Per pale Azure and Gules two lions passant guardant in pale or on a chief Ermine a rose of the second barbed and seeded between a lotus flower and a sprig of New Zealand fern all Proper.
Supporters
On either side a pegasus Argent gorged with an astral crown Or.
Motto
Deo Juvante (With God's Help)

I think that making his crest will also be beneficial to future achievements because it requires the making of an astral crown, a product that might come in handy for future creations dealing with the Royal Air Force or aviation in general.

Thank you for your time and thank you for the wonderful work.

Hi there. Longtime fan of yours! I know you do excellent work especially for British and Commonwealth institutions, past and present.

Big fan on your East India Company, College of Arms and the Heraldry Society respective Coat of Arms that you have uploaded to contribute to Wikipedia/Wikicommons.

Wondered if you'd consider contributing to the Royal Society of St George. Our coat of arms on our Wikipedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Society_of_St_George is so small, but it would be great if you could work your magic and create a CoA for the Royal Society of St George?

COA of Mauritius

i have some suggestions in order to bring the File:Coat of arms of Mauritius.svg closer to the original version (See [14]), however i don't know if it will be too time consuming and become ugly compare to the actual one. Some of the changes include; make the bottom banner similar to this one here, the stem of the sugar cane, the 3 palm trees and the key as seen here. The most important changes needed is perhaps the colour, the Colour Code can be found here. I would suggest to use some effects for the colour, example; for the gold colour, the effect use on the crown here, or another one here so that it isn't yellow or brown as it is the case at [15] and [16]. Cheers.Kingroyos (talk) 18:45, 27 March 2013 (UTC) I also found some images which could be helpful. [17][18].Kingroyos (talk) 08:44, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Australian States

Sodacan your work is legendary and after a day or two trying to teach myself Adobe Illustrator I have an even greater respect for your craft. You have lots of requests here I can see, but if you get the time, the coats of arms for the states and territories of Australia are badly in need of proper vector graphics. They as yet do not even have crisp non-vector images. Since they largely follow the British heraldry traditions they should be right up your alley. Dear Sodocan: The Coat of Arms of the Zorreguieta-family in the Royal Arms (Catharina-Amalia, Princess of Orange and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands ) is much more different: -> http://www.koninklijkhuis.nl/encyclopedie/monarchie/wapens/wapens-van-leden-van-het-koninklijk-huis --> http://www.leibbrandt.com/leibbrandt_archive/wappen_coat_of_arms/wapen_willem+maxima.jpg /-> http://www.ovkoudekerk.nl/maximama.html (for example, the missing two black animals are wolfs, the trees cypresses (-> http://www.heraldik-wiki.de/index.php/Zypresse_(Heraldik) ), even the ground something like water.) PS: Look at this -> http://heraldicaargentina.blogspot.de/2013/04/escudo-de-la-reina-maxima-de-los-paises.html Would You design a better Coat of Arms, please? (For Maxima, as You can see, the shield must be oval.

Improve graphics and design of the Coat of Arms of Singapore

Hey! Would like to commend your impeccable, flawless works and excellent skills.

Request for you to help change and improve the graphics of the Coat of Arms of Singapore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_arms_of_Singapore_(blazon).svg) of the page of the Republic of Singapore.

Notes: 1. Position and design of the tail of the Lion supporter of the current image is wrong 2. The two stands that the Lion and Tiger supporters step on in the Coat of Arms of Singapore are missing in the current image (1. and 2. in reference to the accurate design of the Coat of Arms of Singapore as seen from accuate depictions: http://www.nationsonline.org/seal/Coat_of_arms_of_Singapore.jpg , http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d0/Golden_coat_of_arms_of_Singapore_(cropped)_-_20081001.jpg , http://www.world-wide-gifts.com/images/large/Singapore-Coat-of-Arms-Fridge-Magnet.jpg) 3. Please do create the new and accurate image in the same type of graphics used in making the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Royal_Coat_of_Arms_of_the_United_Kingdom.svg)

coats of arms of the hapsburg empire

You have made the lesser arms of the hapburg empire:

Do you plan to make the middle arms as long as the arms of the emperor ?

Greetings!

Would you please add the Coat of Arms of HRH the Princess Amelia of the United Kingdom under the section "Titles, Styles, Honours and Arms" of her Wikipedia page? Her arms are currently not displayed.

Thank you.

Coats of arms of Canada

I know you have seen a great many requests for this, but I have to continue in asking. We had an SVG of the current coat of arms here on Wikipedia, but it had limited use because it was non-free. It was just deleted, and now we have a small blurry in it's place. There is an SVG on Commons, but while I'm sure the uploader tried their best it's just not accurate. The only way this will ever be solved is if we have someone with the proper skills create a quality free SVG for use. If there is any way you can take time away from your other things to give us a good image, I would be eternally thankful. The two older versions would be great as well, but I won't push my luck if you don't feel like it. Fry1989 eh? 18:25, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please see discussion here first. I just don't want someone putting time and effort into a work that would remain non-free. trackratte (talk) 07:02, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid I'm still where I was years ago. Sorry Fry! :( But the law is too restrictive in this instance. The 1994 version of the arms was 'branded' and only a single definitive depiction is used, plus the law is clear that derivative changes or unauthorised usage is not allowed. I respect that. What should happen now is that the SVG depiction of the 1994 arms should be re-uploaded under fair use and put back to where it was before, which has been the status quo for years now. As for the two older versions I believe an SVG depiction is possible, since its been fifty years since it was first created. However the: 'used at any time by Canada' part of the law is alarming. I wish I could make the image for Wikipedia to use, and in as many articles as it wants too! And I believe I should be allowed to do it too, since I will not be profiting financially or otherwise and will be drawing the image in good faith. But the law is clear and I respect it, so no I do not believe an alternative is possible in this particular case.
I commend the user on Commons who created an alternative image, for trying to fill a gap. But I cannot personally support the use of that image in anyway, I have reverted many of his edits to remove it. A national emblem is a symbol of sovereignty for an entire nation, and of the citizen therein. A faithful and purposeful depiction is what they deserve, not a mutilated and cut-up thingamajig. In fact I am embarrassed by it, If I was gonna make an SVG for Canada it would look damn good. I try very hard (a little too hard and taking way too long) to created a national COA, because I want to create something entirely new as a sign of respect for that country. Maybe I am over thinking it but contributing at WIkipedia or at Commons take up my time, I enjoy it, but now I have a job and no longer at Uni. I don't want to spend a long time and a lot of effort on something and then gets it deleted because I was not thorough when reading copyright law, that just sucks. Sodacan (talk) 07:26, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There are two versions being used by the Government right now, so there isn't one specific design. I think you could easily do your own thing and it would be free per COM:COA, but if you still don't feel safe I can't pull your arm. Would you at least be willing to do the two historical versions when you have time? I know you have a huge waitlist but.....*rambling nonsense*....anyhow. Thanks for everything you have done (especially Seychelles and Malawi), and I hope to see more of your great work whatever it may be :) Fry1989 eh? 17:00, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I will keep it in mind, the two older versions are more likely though. Also just finished this File:Coat of Arms of Guyana.svg. Sodacan (talk) 03:10, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed, it was brilliant :) I made sure it was used on every related Wiki for you. Fry1989 eh? 17:16, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Floral Badge of England and Wales

Hello Sodacan,

I've possibly requested this before, but wondered if you would be willing and able to create an SVG version of the heraldic floral badge of England and Wales? It's not well known, but does appear on birth, marriage and death certificates in England and Wales - for instance here. It aptly consists of a rose, daffodil and crown, and would tie in nicely with the fabulous work you have done so far in this area. --Jza84 |  Talk  15:21, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

COA Kingdom of Iraq

Hello Sodacan, I see your skills are in high demand - and rightly so as your work looks great. I was going to ask you for a vector of the COA if the Kingdom of Iraq http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_arms_of_Kingdom_of_Iraq_(1921%E2%80%931958).png, but I see this request is already on your list. Royal Standard of Norway

This one might be a quick one if you have spare time and the interest. Our SVG of the Royal Standard of Norway is a very good design, but it doesn't match the photos/sources perfectly, and because of that I have a Norwegian user trying to edit war and put his own PNG drawings all over projects as he doesn't like the SVG. His drawings are not only in an inferior file format, the design has also been inferior. If there's any way you could update the SVG lion to match the following sources, it would go a great way.

The sources are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Thanks ahead if you accept. Fry1989 eh? 17:29, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

COA Kingdom of Bohemia on Hapsburg COA

Hello Sodacan, checking some of your contributions I scrutinized the COA of the Austria-Hungary Empire (1867-1915) and found the Bohemia COA (on the wings) very good. It is much better than the one which figures now in the page of "Coat of Arms of the Czech Republic" so maybe - since you have this coa already made - you could adjust it for showing it by itself on the mentioned page. Thank you / JanJC 82.161.150.20 (talk) 14:13, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ulster Defence Regiment

I need advice concerning the files File:Cap Badge of the Ulster Defence Regiment.jpg and File:The Badge of the Ulster Defence Regiment.jpg. I am being told by the copyright people that I can only have one instance of use of the former and that the second, whilst not looking like the original, is still a breach of copyright. My problem is that the Ulster Defence Regiment was so large, consisting of 16 battalions in total over 22 years, that it has had to be split into a parent article and a List of battalions and locations of the Ulster Defence Regiment with a page for each battalion. The regiment only had one item of insignia which is the one shown as the cap badge and therefore to properly complete the military info box there is no choice of badges, flashes or tactical insignia. The copyright in question is UK Crown Copyright. Can you shed any light on how I should proceed or can you assist please? SonofSetanta (talk) 16:46, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Police Scotland

Hi Sodacan

If you've time, could you create an .svg image of the new logo for the Scottish Police Force (Police Scotland).

On the following link the new logo appears, comprising a thistle, surmounted by the Crown of Scotland, overall a gold scroll bearing the motto "SEMPER VIGILO"... beneath which appear the words "POLICE SCOTLAND Keeping people safe"

The image is required for the Police Scotland article.

Coat of Arms (and Flag?) of Kaiser Karl VI (Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation)

Hello Sodacan,

I would like very much to see a colour, vector version of the coat of arms of Kaiser Karl VI. His coat of arms can be found here:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wappen_HRR_-_Kaiser_Karl_VI._%28ex._sig%29.svg

For hints as regards the colours, one can use Josef II's arms, here:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wappen_Kaiser_Joseph_II._1765_%28Gro%C3%9F%29.png

As for style, your own brilliant rendering of the double-headed eagle of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire goes in more than the right direction:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Imperial_Coat_of_Arms_of_the_Empire_of_Austria_%281815%29.svg

I also think that Karl VI.'s flag (albeit with the correct eagle in the centre) would be a nice addition to the files here. You can visit the Italian website Flags Online (written as one word) to see an example, or search via Google Picture Search for "Flag Charles VI 1737", choosing the picture entitled sacroromanoimpero.jpg.

Many thanks in advance for all your time and effort, and keep up the fantastic work!

Best wishes,

Capocelli coat of arms

Hello! I've seen the style that you use to paint the coat of arms and I think it's the best. Could you please help me drawing this: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/444/stemmacapocelli2.jpg/ This is the Capocelli's family coat of arms and this is the descriprion: "divided longitudinally into two halves in the right on a red background comes out from the left side arm bent (left Cherio) covered in armor holding a sword with bare hands with the tip pointing upwards while the left half on a blue background and above detached two bands of gold, which extend down from the bottom right to top left, a head, covered by the morion concealed in elevated, uncovered her face and aims at the top left of a gold comet." I ask you this beacuse there's a page in wikipedia that treat this topic, but the coat is not in an hight definition. I hope you'll help me. Edinburgh Coat of Arms

Hi Sodacan, I hope you can help. There is an image of the Edinburgh coat of arms already on Wikipedia, File:Edinburgh-coa.png, but it differs from the one shown and described on the Council's website [here]. Would it be possible to re-draw the official version from the Council website for use on Wikipedia? Coat of Arms Marianne and Louis of Netherlands

Dear Sodocan

Hello, and thank you first of all for changing the shield children of the Queen of the Netherlands.

I do a lot of research on the Kings of Sweden since 1810 (Bernadotte).

I have a question to the royal library of the Netherlands to the crest of the Princess Louise of the Netherlands (1828-1871) future Queen of Sweden-Norway after her marriage with King Charles XV of Sweden.

He told me that the crest was identical to the Coat of Arms of Princess Marianne of the Netherlands with the exeption that it was not in the three pendants but lambel Five pendants.

One of these coats of arms I have attempted to recreate for the purposes of the page, however I am unable to make it look quite as professional as yours. I will attach the link to the coat of arms below. The base upon which the supporters are standing and the crown can be changed for artistic purposes. Argent, a castle triple-towered and embattled sable, masoned of the first and topped with three fans gules, windows and portcullis shut of the last, situate on a rock proper. On the wreath is set for crest, an anchor wreathed about with a cable all proper. Motto: "Nisi Dominus frustra." Supported on the dexter by a woman, richly attired, with her hair hanging down over her shoulders; and on the sinister by a doe proper.

Various Requests

Hey Sodacan, I love the heraldry work you do, and I was hoping you could improvise some of these Coat of Arms:

Female

Colonial

If you could please add some coat of arms of the Viceroys of New Spain, several of their coats of arms can be found in their portraits:

Theres a website here with some of the viceroys CoA in drawings, just go to the jpg links under their names: http://heraldicahispana.com/npds/viewtopic.php?topic=186&forum=7

Misc. Heraldry Requests

I also found this coat of arms of Spanish Louisiana: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisiana_(New_Spain)#mediaviewer/File:Coat_of_Arms_of_the_Province_of_Louisiana.jpg I found it in the "Archivo General de Indias", its not in very good quality but I hope you can restore it.

Duchy of Krumlov and Grand Blason of the House of Schwarzenberg

Hello,
I have two requests to ask you. They both concern the South Bohemian heraldry. There's not been made yet the coat of arms of the Duchy of Krumlov and the grand blason of the House of Schwarzenberg. The arms of the Duchy of Krumlov (cz) are very rare to encounter, nontheless I found a picture here at page 17/123. The description states : five Rosenberg five pelted red roses on a silver field (2,1,2) and in the crest over a helmet with a red and silver manting a silver eagle with the field sign (again five Rosenberg roses). The other request concerns the House of Schwarzenberg. There are many variations of their family crest, but there's not yet a grand versions that you may see here and here or here

I would be very grateful if you made those blasons! You're job is amazing. --Omote229 (talk) 12:50, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The escarbuncle badge of Henry II of England

Hello. You've made a very useful and attractive series of badges of the Kings of England; however, you've left out the golden escarbuncle used by King Henry II. I'm currently in the midst of expanding the "royal badges of England" article to include the badges of the early Plantagenet monarchs, so it'd be helpful if a depiction of this badge was available. Ulster King of Arms - arms of Sir Arthur Vicars

Sodacan, you do really spectacular work with your illustrations of Coats of Arms - thank you. I have recently discovered just how good your stuff is now that I have added a black and white scan of the arms of Sir Arthur Vicars to his page - it looks dull and utterly uninteresting compared to your work! If you had the time and the inclination, would you be prepared to build on your existing work on Ulster's arms by impaling the Vicars arms alongside? I have never used Inkscape in my life, so apologies if the impaling represents a huge job itself! I have also found another, simpler version of his arms from the title page of his book which I have uploaded to Commons - it shows more clearly a different style for the batons behind the escutcheon which appear to be slenderer than the modern taste and may have Tudor crowns at their heads.

Thank you and happy new year! CharlesSpencer (talk) 18:26, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

British Royal Coat of Arms (Chivalry)

Greetings! I love the heraldry work that you've done on Wikipedia and I'm wondering if you could expand it a bit. In particular, I noted these two coats of arms:

It is nice to see HM arms adorned with something besides the Order of the Garter. Would you be able to do something similar for the Venerable Order of St John? It would involve adding a chief of the Order's arms to the shield and placing the shield on the badge of the Order (a white Maltese cross). Let me know what you think! I may have some other Order of St John heraldry requests for you, too.--dave-- 19:57, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sodocan,

Your work using Inkscape is really something beautiful! I hope you will be willing to lend your attention to the Ming-Ai (London) Association crest. A Catholic chairty working as a faculty of the University of Middlesex, While delivering community projects to the Britsh-Chinese community.

A note of the symbolism of the crest: "The cross and flame, symbolising Christian love, is the logo of Caritas International, the Catholic Federation to which Caritas Hong Kong belongs. The lion symbolises Britain; the dragon, China; the sampan, Hong Kong; the seas, learning without boundary."

The crest included traditional chinese charicters and their translations are as follows 明愛會 - Ming Ai Association 愛是服務 - To Love is to serve

Austria-Hungary Emperor Flag

Hi,

I was looking for a piece of the artwork you created here, I was looking if you had the top crown and tapestry section, unfortunately the eagles heads block part of the tapestry. I want to use it in a project to recreate the Standard Flag of the Emperor but unfortunately the current version that is up, the quality is rather poor. I wanted to use your crown and tapestry to surround your coat of arms on the rather poor flag version. You will receive full credit. Unless you think it will look better if you made it yourself, either way works for me. Email me at rymich14@gmail.com to discuss this further. P.S. I saw your SVG Canadian Navy ranks for seamen, chiefs, and petty officers, and shouldn't they have the yellow "CANADA" text on the bottom of them? (See here for photo of real thing) Or has that since been removed? – Illegitimate Barrister (talkcontribs), 09:28, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Because of the different types of uniform that the Canadian armed forces use, the rank insignias differs accordingly. In the example photo above the Chief Petty Officer 1st class is wearing a 'battle dress', the ranks are in the form of slides on the shoulder (like these). While on a formal 'dress uniform' the insignia is on the sleeves instead (for example on this Chief Petty Officer 1st class. I have based all of my Canadian rank images on the Canadian Forces Website: Navy, Army and Air Force. It's safe to assume that they base their images on the dress uniform rank type. The Canadian rank insignias has been going through a lot of changes lately, it is difficult to keep track. I have no problem uploading the shoulder slides if you would like them. Arms of Sir Arthur Vicars as Ulster - my attempt based on your work!

Arms of Sir Arthur Vicars as Ulster King of Arms

Since 99.999% of this is not mine but rather your excellent work, I didn't think I should publish it without letting you know that something not up to your standards is out there based on your work! All faults entirely mine - and as a beginner, I have to say how really easy your original files are to work with! Aargh! Just realised I haven't put his motto above the crest! Oh well - another time! Hello, I see that you are one of the best vector graphics here so I have one important challenge for you if you would be so generous. Czechoslovak community would be very honored if it would be improved closest to the constitutional version. It is also element of middle lion in Large Coat of arms of Czechoslovakia: http://www.3athlon.com/republique_tchecoslovaque/znak_prvni_ceskoslovenske_republiky.jpg (The two edge lions are slightly different correctly done here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Greater_coat_of_arms_of_Czechoslovakia_(1918-1938_and_1945-1961).svg ). and also same motive is on the Middle Coat of arms best picture here: http://www.nacr.cz/sua/vystavy/symboly/gifs/10stred.jpg. Italian Empire

Hello,@Sodacan:! First of all I have to tell you your pictures are wonderful!
I have recently vectorised a raster file depicting the coat of arms of en:Italian East Africa.

I am completely unsatisfied with the crown however. According to blazoning it should be an "Italian Imperial Crown" even if one was never realised. BTW, I cannot blazon in English, so I will give you a basic description: the crown should have a golden circle with "borders" and 8 rubies and sapphires (5 visible) alternated with 8 en:Savoy knots. It should have 8 "golden bands" closed on top with a curl by a globe surmounted by a cross similar to that of the crown of Savoy. These "bands" should have 8 pearls each (growing bigger from top to bottom) and they should be held by golden eagles and "Savoy shields supported by two golden fascis each" alternated. Between each eagle and "Savoy shield" there should be 3 pearls with that in the middle being bigger than the other two.
Sorry about the terrible description but it is the best I could do, after all you can also look at the raster file.
Moreover the list holding the motto "Fert Fert Fert" should be adjusted too.
Thank you in advance for your precious help, regards  ᚪᛋᚦᚩᚾᛏ (Asþont) | Talk  09:02, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Guy's Hospital Coat of Arms

Hi, Sodacan. Would you be able to make an SVG version of the Guy's Hospital Coat of Arms? Guy's Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in London, founded in 1721. Many thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by GKT1 (talkcontribs) 08:14, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

House of Schwarzenberg - Heraldry Project

Dear Sodacan,

I would like to ask, whether you might be interested to create a new set of coats of arms for the article about the House of Schwarzenberg.

The currently used coats of arms contain a lot of mistakes or are of very low quality. Your wonderful style and attention to detail would be a great contribution, especially as the Schwarzenberg coat of arms is considered to be very challenging. I will include a small gallery of examples and suggestions below.

I look forward to hear back from you.

Kind regards,

Schwarzenbergika (talkcontribs) 12:13, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Peruvian Ministry of Defense

Wondering if you could do the seal of Peru's Ministry of Defense? The logo is similar to this.--ZiaLater (talk) 05:36, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the Peruvian Naval Aviation 1, the Peruvian Coast Guard 2 and the Peruvian Naval Infantry 3 could use improvements if you are up to it. Thank you for the others!--ZiaLater (talk) 06:10, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mr. Sodacan, thanks for vectorising this flag. :-)

I need another help in creating the Governor flag of Sarawak. The example can be seen here using the materials below except for the roundel leaf which need to be drawn. Night Lantern (talk) 05:51, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Here you go --Sodacan (talk) 05:58, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Sodacan: That is fast! Wow, thank you. Could you take a look on this request too and moving this file to Commons? *last requests* :-) Night Lantern (talk) 06:17, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese Dragon

Saw that you uploaded several flag images that include the chinese dragon. You might be aware that WP still lacks a depiction of the pre- 1912 chinese emblem, as seen at at https://archive.org/details/ofmaritimeflagsn00unitrich, p. 14 and 15. Will you also draw it?--Antemister (talk) 09:34, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sodacan, I'm going to echo with Antemister, but the rounded dragon is not a emblem (as far as I know). This is a common pattern of Chinese dragon called 盘龙.
This however is a shared element on Qing Dynasty Naval flags (usually on rank flags). Here's a image with better quality(source). I'm working on the historical naval flags of Qing Dynasty and having been trying by myself. Since you have done an excellent job on the yellow dragon flag, I'll appreciate a lot if you can take a look on this and thus these images would be consistent as well. --Ericmetro (talk) 06:58, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I will hurry this up. I have lots of things on my computer 60% done, this is one of them. --Sodacan (talk) 07:14, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your great work! Now I am able to continue my work on the naval flags of Qing dynasty then. Cheers. --Ericmetro (talk) 00:04, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

House of Glücksburg - Coat of Arms vectorisation

Hello! I always liked the astonishing vectored coats of arms of arms you create, and I was wondering if it would be possible for you to create the Coat of arms of the House of Glücksburg in a vectorised version. It still remains unvectorised and it really needs your talent!

The unvectorised version

Thank you a lot! --Morretor (talk) 12:48, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Yorkist Virgin Headed Falcon

Dear Sodacan,

You have created a most compelling image. Do you have a 2-dimensional (i.e., pictorial) primary source? I am aware only of 3-D primary sources, in St George's Chapel, Windsor, Berkshire, and Malvern Priory, Worcestershire.

Incidentally the use of this family badge (attributed to his grandfather, Richard of Conisborough) does not appear to have been used by Richard III after 1471, and I suspect was superseded by the boar some years earlier.

Palaiologos emblems

Hi Sodacan! Could you please create one of your fine vector graphics for the following seals of the Palaiologoi? They are among the few authentic images of Byzantine double-headed eagles (albeit Andreas' is Westernized). Thanks in advance! Constantine 09:02, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The whole seal? or just the eagle? How about the colours? --Sodacan (talk) 09:19, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The whole seal would be ideal (the book scans being somewhat difficult to read). As they are seals, colorization would probably involve too much guesswork for historical accuracy to be maintained, so preferably not. If you need help with the Greek inscription, feel free to ask. Cheers, Constantine 09:28, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New College of Arms grant

Hi Sodacan! Wonderful work! Could you please create an SVG for English pianist Matthew Schellhorn's new grant as at http://www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/news-grants/newsletter/item/148-october-2017-newsletter-no-52 ? This seems to me a particularly interesting blazon and it's among the most striking in the newsletters of the College of Arms. Thanks in advance. Flag of the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy

Flag of the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy (1805-1814)

Hi Sodacan! Sorry to bother you, I just want to report some few very little miskes on your beautiful artwork. Please look at this: The Eagle is looking to a wrong side and the correct one hold the Iron Crown on her breast with a blue shield with the royal Napoleon letter "N" and a pending cross between the legs,

  • [35] Ok this one belong to the Horse Artillery Regimen but the Eagle, the Iron Crown and the "N" shield is most likely similar to the original National flag I could find on the net
  • [36] Printed version
  • [37] The Eagle
  • [38]; [39] The Flag

Can you please adjust the file? Thank you in advance. --Nicola Romani (talk) 14:54, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hola Sodacan:
Hi Sodacan:

He escrito a Heralder pero lamentablemente está ocupado, él mismo me recomendó a escribirte a ti.
I have written to Heralder but unfortunately it is busy, he himself recommended me to write to you.

Te escribo para saber si puedes diseñar el escudo de armas de Albert en Queensland, Australia. Te envió el link a la imagen Escudo de Armas de Albert, carece de blasonamiento pero si tiene una descripción en ingles la cual es esta:
I am writing to know if you can design of the coat of arms of Albert en Queensland, Australia. You sent the link to the image, Coat of arms of Albert, it lacks blazoning but if it has a description which is this:

The shield displays a background of gold and green, depicting the close proximity of the Gold Coast with its beaches, and the Shire, with its lush forests and farmlands. The caducaeus, rod of Mercury, God of commerce, and the hammer for industry in general, lie between two heads alluding to the beef and dairy industries. The four bands in the chief symbolize the Shire's Strategic Plan, which when combined with the mural crown of civic authority, speak of the Council's commitment to the future welfare of the Shire.

The colours, black and gold, come from the Saxony arms of Prince Albert, after whom the Shire was named, and refer to industry (black) and resultant wealth (gold).

The kangaroo in the crest identifies the Shire as Australian, while the sugar canes allude to another local industry.

The two dogs commemorate the national origins of two men closely connected with the early history of the district. Captain Patrick Logan was from Berwickshire, Scotland, origin of the Border Collie. The German Shepherd honours Johann Heussler, from Hamburg in Germany.

Perdón por mi mal inglés.
Sorry for my bad english.

Regards
