Is Colts Neck 39th or 41st in Median Household Income? Is there a source?

The underlying problem is that List of highest-income places in the United States is utterly unreliable. The sources there point to nothing, let alone anything meaningful, and I have never been able to find a list from any source that confirms the data there in any of their lists. Whatever source was used to create the original list, I have no idea, but Colts Neck was not on that list when it was added in 2005. The township wasn't added until July 2006 in this edit, when it was inserted into the list ranked 38th by an IP editor. Why? I have no idea. This editor has made a few dozen edits, including this one in which Colts Neck was listed as being ranked 39th (even though when he added it to the ranking, he placed it 38th). At various points since, it has been 39th and now it's 41st. Why? No idea. Pointing to the Census 2000 source may be a valid source for the township's median household income, but it doesn't support a ranking of 41st (or 38th or 39th or any other value). I'd love to support the claim, but until then "citation needed" still applies. Alansohn (talk) 17:44, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Category:People from Buena, New Jersey, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ...William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 20:02, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I noticed you have been removing the pushpin maps from some of the New Jersey articles I created. I looked in Template:Infobox settlement and there doesn't seem to be a standardize pushpin map style. A peek at Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities/US Guideline also shows no standardized style of pushpin map. In the absence of any one style of infobox pushpin map being adopted, I'd prefer to leave the map which was included on the article when it was created. Thanks. Jeremy Katz Music

Hello. Since I saw your note about the notable-ness of the article, I've made a number of changes:

  • I've added citations from some of the leading and most respected media outlets that cover the human resources and recruitment industries. These outlets have include coverage about Jeremy Katz Music's music video production offerings.
  • I've provided explanation of what the company does, and why it's unique/innovative/new/different.

If you'd like me to include additional editorial changes in the article in order to further validate its appropriateness for Wiki, please let me know.

Thanks,

Speedy deletion nomination of Indoor amusement park

Hello Tinton5,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Indoor amusement park for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Shootingstar111 (talk) 05:59, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I find the location of Ashley Tisdale's discovery an irritating non-sequitor. Monmouth Mall is the only mall article, of the 117 I have used to find jumping off points for a book I am writing, that mentions the discovery of any celebrity at all. I don't have an opinion on Miss Tisdale one way or the other- in fact, I didn't know there was such a person prior to reading this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Greenmanedlion (talkcontribs) 22:32, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Chandler Frantz

The article Chandler Frantz has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

subject does not meet notability guidelines WP:ENT

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on Monmouth County Park System requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Hi Tinton5, the name is known as the binomial authority. It specifies the name or names of the botanist(s) who determined the species binomial. Very often there will have been many historical attempts to define a species, and the binomial authority specifies which author's version of the name is being used. Take a look at http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/tro-28101295 and I think you will see what I mean.Plantsurfer 12:43, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of the most common U.S. place names, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Centerville, Wisconsin. Jeremy Glick: Saddle River or Upper Saddle River?

The article at "Archive: How 9/11 changed America forever", from The Record (Bergen County), is one of many which places Jeremy Glick in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey - "Many of them— including 31-year-old Upper Saddle River native Jeremy Glick and 32-year-old Todd Beamer of Cranbury— valiantly fought four hijackers for control of the Washington, D.C.-bound plane, and died when it crashed near a field in Shanksville, Pa."

The source you added is one of many that say differently, but I wonder if the belief that he's from Saddle River, New Jersey is based on his attendance at Saddle River Day School. Any thoughts on the discrepancy? Alansohn (talk) 05:46, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator: Please consider notifying the author/project: == Proposed deletion of Grumble (disambiguation) ==

The article Grumble (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not a properly formatted disambiguation page. Only the redirect Grumble matches the title approximately, since Grumble (sound) was deleted. Complaint should be mentioned in a {{redirect}} hatnote at S-300 missile system.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. New Jersey Minority Educational Development category

Hello. May I ask you why did you change Category:American companies established in 1995 to Category:Organizations established in 1995 in this edit? American companies established in 1995 is sub category to Organizations established in 1995 and people looking for American companies from that year are probably going to look there. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Amy Tolsky, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Last Man Standing (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

New Jersey beaches and shore communities

I saw your recent edits to Harvey Cedars, New Jersey, which got me thinking. Chicken Bone Beach, Gunnison Beach and Sunset Beach (New Jersey) are articles about beaches; Harvey Cedars and Ventnor City, New Jersey are articles about places, which are Jersey Shore communities that also happen to have a beach. Should Category:Beaches of New Jersey include articles about beaches and also about places (which are 95% of the total) or should it only be beaches? Do we need the same entries -- beaches and places -- in Category:Beaches of New Jersey by county? Then there's the parallel structure of Category:Jersey Shore communities, which is also broken down by county. Perhaps only the beaches should be in the beaches category and only the places in the communities. Does it make sense to separate them or should we have this overlap? Pointless redirects to Wiktionary

Hi. Whilst I do appreciate your love of idioms and unusual phrases, may I ask that you please to be careful not to create pages with soft redirects for trivial words like Merely or Inconvenience? It might be worth reminding you of the guidance in {{wi}} which states:

Do not place it on every possible word. Soft redirects to Wiktionary are to dictionary definitions, and generally Wikipedia is not a dictionary.
Only use it when:
  • There is no scope for a Wikipedia article at this title, and
  • There is no other Wikipedia page to which this would be an appropriate redirect, and
  • There is a relevant entry in Wiktionary, and (my emphasis...)
  • Readers search for it on Wikipedia.

I genuinely feel such trivial pages only serve to divert or delay users looking for articles beginning with that word, and would never be searched for on their own. For that reason I shall be nominating both pages for a deletion discussion. Kind regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 22:59, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:13, 8 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note about renaming this article. When you are unable to move an article because the title already exists, you can make a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves. An administrator can move the page without having to cut-and-past text from one title to the other. This way the article history doesn't get separated. I have merged the histories of Scott Jennings and J. Scott Jennings. Can you please just check to see if it looks correct to you - that the version showing is the one you intend? New Jersey Turnpike

Hello:

The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article New Jersey Turnpike has been completed.

I added some details about the individuals some of the bridges have been named after which probably makes it worth keeping as a standalone section.

As you likely know, there are quotations in the article that lack citations, and there are some sections like "Construction" where large parts are not cited. There were a couple of easy things I thought I could cite quickly, but I have been unable to get on the NJTA website over the past two days. Something odd going on there. One section needs to be updated.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Good luck with the GAN when you get to it.

In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
