For making and sharing this momentous event (and for a huge list of other things) you have been awarded the seldom-coveted THUMBS UP AWARD. Wear it with pride . . . . .. or please recycle.

Carptrash (talk) 16:09, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

I am truly honored. I have had a few "digits' pointed in my direction over the years but this is one of the best. TKS!```Buster Seven Talk

Just stopping by...

I just wanted to stop by and say that I think you've been doing an excellent job with WER. Just because it doesn't happen to dovetail with one member's expectations or ideas doesn't mean that it's not working. Intothatdarkness 15:23, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Thank you darkness. One of the many hats I wear in RL is artist. Over the years I've had a few art shows and viewings. Many artists will spend hours "wrangling" with some critic that doesn't like their interpretations or compositions or color palette. I'm no different. We ignore the majority of viewers that smile in appreciation but harangue endlessly with the critic. WE all just want to be loved I guess. . Buster Seven Talk 16:56, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Yeah. I seem to recall that Dennis had some wrangling to do in the early days as well. It does tend to get frustrating when one critic assumes that their interpretation is correct or superior when they didn't actually create the work themselves. I've not done art, but have experienced this with writing. Intothatdarkness 17:03, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
And please understand, you are loved.Carptrash (talk) 18:20, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, my friend. I just ordered Contemporary Women Artists by Laurie and Kevin Hillstrom. I think it weighs about 10lbs.. Buster Seven Talk 18:28, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Congrats!

Our idea was a success! Thomas.W (don't ping him) has returned. Ah.. It is a relief when old friends return. This is another success of our WER project. Should we share this success with our other members? Jim Carter 03:19, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Absolutely!Tell the members the good news. We just were criticized and questioned about whether WER actually does anything. But lets share it without saying who the returning editor is...we don't want to treat T.W. badly or anything. He may not like being used as a success story....but he is. Thanks for getting me involved in this success story, Jim. . Buster Seven Talk 04:26, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
Wait....@Jim Carter:...What makes you think he has returned? I don't see (user contributions page) any editing that he is doing? Are you sure he is back? Lets be sure before we Brag about it. . Buster Seven Talk 04:33, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
He has made this this and this edits just few hours ago. While he hasn't removed the retired tag yet but I assume he has returned. As the above mentioned edits where made after we send him that mail and he suddenly made three edits after being inactive for almost a month, I'm almost sure he is back. What you think? Jim Carter 04:47, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
Yea, he seems back. . Buster Seven Talk 04:53, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
Should I go ahead and mention about this success at WT:WER? Jim Carter 05:00, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
Yes. . Buster Seven Talk 05:10, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Cutting & Pasteing

Thanks for the award, Buster7. I pasted transfered the award to my Awards page. Holy smokers, after nearly 10yrs of being on Wikipedia, I finally figured out how to 'cut & paste' :) GoodDay (talk) 15:51, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Eddy Award

It's possible that the screening of nominees might need tigtning. But, I'll leave that to you & others. GoodDay (talk) 21:11, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Since the beginning I have screened just about every nominee...especially those that had not received a second after the 2 week period. They got extra scrutiny. I did NOT look for reasons to vacate the nomination. I looked FOR reasons to support it. I looked for positive actions above and beyond what was mentioned in the nomination.
These editors were not being placed in nomination for adminship or for the Oscars. Its a simple weekly award of thanks. I can assure you, the editor bluntly asking for honest feedback has never placed anyone up for the award and has never seconded a nomination and has never even commented at the nomination pages...ever. . Buster Seven Talk 21:25, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
Seeing as only 'one' editor (Ottawhitech) has complained, I doubt there's much to be concerned about. So, no probs here. GoodDay (talk) 21:29, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
His claim is completely baseless. 100%. But, it does give me the opportunity to ask if you would be interested in doing some of the vetting of nominees at the Eddy Awards. Like I said, we are not looking for problems and, if we do find something problematic (which has happened) we usually just wait for a few weeks until the Drama or whatever it was has passed and then ask the nominator to re-submit. I think its happened twice. . Buster Seven Talk 21:36, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
The potential for me to get into trouble is too risky. I'm still on siteban probation 'til May 21 & having any editors angry with me, can easily lead to my wiki-demise. GoodDay (talk) 21:46, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
We certainly don't want that. I just thought I would ask. May 21st. Isn't that Mothers Day?`. Buster Seven Talk 21:49, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
In Canada, Mother's Day falls on May 10, this year. GoodDay (talk) 21:51, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

I noticed that Ottawahitech mentioned & pinged EC, in his post. I'm hoping it's not another attempt by someone to 'bait' EC. Anyways, I'm glad EC has avoided the discussion. GoodDay (talk) 16:35, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

IMO the whole thing is just residual drama. Buster's done a great job of running this program (as has those who have helped along the way and continue to help). I avoid ER due to some of the drama and grandstanding that goes on from time to time, but it's certainly a needed activity and the Eddy is a great part of that. Intothatdarkness 18:53, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
Ty, Into. You are also invited to assist at anytime. One of my simple desires is that WER members would go to the week's awardees talk page and offer their personal 2¢ in acknowledgment. If 20 strangers, 20 well-known strangers, came to the page I think retaining that editor and strengthening the resolve of that editor to keep doing whatever it is they are doing is increased. Editor retention happens one editor at a time. . Buster Seven Talk 14:22, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
  • May I politely suggest that screening of nominees is improved? Otherwise it just looks like a popularity contest. There is yet another nomination for which I could provide adequate background for their not being wholly within the collaborative spirit of Wikipedia. Being aware however how the Eddy Award works , and having felt I can no longer support WER, I will not register my objection there simply to make a point again. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:55, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
  • May I politely suggest that screening of nominees is improved?. I take it you mean, May I politely suggest that screening of nominees BE improved. I can only assume that one of the 3 nominees currently in the 2 week seconding period is the editor that you can't name. And since you gave one of them your seal of approval...of the remaining 2, I can not guess which has acted so contrary to the collaborative spirit of Wikipedia that you feel you need to inform me of how you feel about their nomination. Is it Liz? Or is it Technical 13? Are you so stingy that you fail to understand that the EotW is just a glorified barnstar. It doesn't come with a basket of fruit or free airfare to the Bahama's or 10% discount on your dry cleaning. It's not a "Get out of a Ban" card. It's just a barnstar from, at minimum, two people dispensed by a third person. Maybe you would reconsider your criticism if you knew of the two cases I can recall where the nomination was held in abeyance for a month or so until a minor disturbance was clarified and rectified. I have vetted almost all the nominees. As I said elsewhere I don't go looking for problems that they might have. They are not up for administratorship. I regret that you feel the way you do. But I have absolutely nothing to do with your feelings. . Buster Seven Talk 04:14, 7 March 2015 (UTC)

Hey there! The Regenstein Library at the University of Chicago is hosting an edit-a-thon to celebrate Women's History Month on Saturday, March 28th from 10 AM to 4 PM. Coffee and lunch is provided for free, and we'll be focusing on building a few biographical and organizational articles. We'll also have full access to archival resources maintained by the Special Collections and Research Center. If you're interested in joining us, please RSVP at the event page here! Eddy Award 2

Sorry to be a pest (again) but I am just curious to know how this user qualifies for your 'barnstar with glitter'. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:56, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Kudpung, I am looking through the archives and current nominations, and am not seeing that he was ever nominated? Am I missing something? I see he added the userbox to his userpage in June 2013 ... Go Phightins! 03:02, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
I believe the editor in question was never recognized as an Editor of the Week. isaacl (talk) 03:04, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Sorry Kudpung. You'll have to bark up some other tree. We are just clerks...not police. The same thing happened just the other day with a 100K Award. Scurrilous activity seems to abound. What can we do? The next time you investigate you should look for the diff of when GoP or I dispense the award. Almost always on a Sunday. I wonder if the Oscar Award ever has this problem? Did Sharafat write up a nomination statement? I'll have to take a look I guess. Kind of like a phony Rolex watch, isn't it. Lots of glitter but its not real. It doesn't have the WER Seal Of Approval. Its a phony. We will be dispensing a real award tomorrow. Why don't you visit the user's talk page and congratulate them. . Buster Seven Talk 05:18, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

To GoP and Isaacl....I guess something should be done...maybe ask Sharafat to remove the fake award from his mantle. Someone else will have to do it. Maybe Kudpung will volunteer? . Buster Seven Talk 05:30, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

  • To clarify, policy doesn't strictly prohibit someone from doing what he did. Good taste would dictate that he respond to a request, but I don't think you can actually force him. Tags saying you have more bits than you really do, those can usually be forcibly removed because it causes confusion to new users and is a type of impersonation. Other stuff, not so much. Guilt/shame is your best tool. Dennis Brown - 23:32, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
I'm committed to not acting, myself that is, in this matter. What I will do is watch him and, someday, maybe he can earn a real Eddy. . Buster Seven Talk 23:43, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Before someone we all know and love responds, based on what we can see, there is very little chance that a real Eddy will be awarded at any time in the near future to this editor. . Buster Seven Talk 23:47, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
If he hasn't edited in 90 days, I would probably just boldly but politely remove it. Until then, watching sounds like a good idea. Dennis Brown - 01:02, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure what policy applies, but the self-awarding of a recognition that is intended to be given out by others is surely a edit that can be reverted. isaacl (talk) 01:09, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

I have always been gently embarrassed...

...that I once did something that you so profoundly fondly recall - as much for the fact I do not remember it, as for the references to it. Glad to see you are still engaged with good doing. LessHeard vanU (talk) 10:42, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Draft IUAAPA

Thank you for assist me! I´m a little bit frustrated because of the my Draft - I see some many new articles with no or one reference, and I can not understand that over 4.500 possible references are not enough for notability, even 25 in the article. What I understand is, that without IUAPPA we would not have clean air in the western world - we would have the some air pollution as in china....maybe I must ask the environment specialist here to check this.--Mingo (talk) 15:43, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

It is my pleasure, Mingo. Don't worry or get frustrated. Patient is a good thing to have when you edit at Wikipedia. This happens to many new editors. They try to run before they can walk. But you are doing good; I'd say you were up to a slow trot. |:~)(<----That is a smiling happy face). I am sure that you and I along with User:L235 Editor L235 will figure this out and an article for IUAPPA will exist. We just have to find a good secondary reference. . Buster Seven Talk 20:35, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
Mingo You mentioned Environmental editors. Here is what I did to find them:
1) I figured there was a Wikipedia Project for editors interested in environmental things.
2) I typed "WP:Environment" and Wikipedia:WikiProject Environment was listed
3) Now you can use the link, go to the project, and see if there is someone that can assist you. Good Luck! . Buster Seven Talk 20:46, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

EOTW

Hi Buster, I'd like to add an editor-of-the-week nom, but I can't see the difference between Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/Editor of the Week/Nominations and Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/Editor of the Week/Accepted nominations. Are we supposed to add to both? Sarah (SV) (talk) 16:24, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @SlimVirgin: Hi Sarah, you should use the nominations page (the first one); once the nomination is seconded, we move it to the accepted nominations page. Thanks! Go Phightins! 16:38, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
@Go Phightins!: Okay, thank you. So, once accepted, the nomination and the second are moved to the other page? I've done this before, but I think last time I nominated directly on the second page. Sorry for not doing it properly that time. Sarah (SV) (talk) 17:20, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
Yup. No worries! Go Phightins! 18:09, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

Arbitration Cases

Stop posting comments about arbitration cases and minions and stuff. You may think that they are funny, but to some of the people involved in some of the cases, nothing is funny because Wikipedia is a battle for some (possibly false) version of the truth. Therefore humor is dangerous. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:20, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

No, what is dangerous is humorless idiots in positions of authority, not pointing to anyone specific. Feel free to make your own conclusions. How do you and your hat fit in the same room? John from Idegon (talk) 21:35, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
(edit conflict ) @ RmcC: I'm not sure why you have taken the extreme measure as to silence a good faith editor such as ME. Nor why think you can make such pernicious demands to a veteran editor such as myself. I am currently indifferent. My comments were completely truthful about the situation, not at all humorous. My comments about Cuba and the bison WERE meant to be humorous. There is much, seriously, that you don't know. But I get your advice and the need for restrictions of my free-roaming nature. The simple fact is that the editor where I mentioned the case has been a best wiki-friend and fellow editorial collaborator for seven years. But...no problem, I will remain silent in spite of a long and torturous history and much information and insight to share. I think you have over-stepped your responsibilities; my comments were as distant and remote from the two cases as can be and were as innocent as rainwater. But...don't worry...I am properly chastised and will endeavor to be good.. Buster Seven Talk 21:53, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Two Chicago edit-a-thons this April!

Hey folks! We've got two exciting edit-a-thons happening in Chicago during the third week of April:

If you're interested in meeting up and working together with other Wikipedians at these fantastic institutions, please RSVP at the event pages linked above. I see that you have added a lot of what appears to be WP:OR to Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool. I have tagged a lot of things that will be removed if you don't add proper WP:ICs from WP:RSs.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 01:50, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

@TonyTheTiger:. Please be patient. I guarantee that what I have added are facts. My source is from within the Lily Pool documentation. I'm sure I will be able to find Quality reliable secondary sources but it might take a few days 'cause I am busy with RL responsibilities. I hope you can grant a veteran editor from Chicago a little bit of a time leeway. As for the Location thread, none of those come from me. I will, however also search them out when time permits. . Buster Seven Talk 02:46, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
But... one small thing. Other than your quick whistle on what you call "OR" don't you think I improved the article. I don't need you approval but, from one editor to another, it would be nice to hear what you thought was good rather than just hear what you thought was bad. . Buster Seven Talk 02:56, 5 May 2015 (UTC).

Editor of the Week summary

I just noticed this edit that you added to the summary of Editor of the Week. In my view, it's not really a good summation of the criteria: as we discussed when we established the criteria, we were looking for a way to recognize someone's continued good work over some period of time. We did discuss how it could recognize a single key achievement, such as bringing an article to Good Article status. But I don't see it as a thank you for a discrete event that was appreciated; as we have mentioned numerous times, it recognizes good behaviours and ways of contributing that improve the project. (And editorially speaking, the sentence lacks a neutral point of view, and is a bit too informal for my taste.) I realize management of the recognition is primarily in your hands (and a few others), so if you feel that the direction of Editor of the Week has changed in this way, that's fine; just be aware that we picked the scope of Editor of the Week very deliberately, and my personal feeling is that shifting to a "thanks for X" mode diminishes its impact and makes it less distinguishable from other barnstars. isaacl (talk) 21:12, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

Isaacl, feel free to remove it. It showed up while vetting Intothatdarkness as a comment he made some time back. I thought it fit, but maybe you don't. By all means, remove it. . Buster Seven Talk 21:17, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
Buster7, I really appreciate your good-natured congeniality when I provide feedback; it makes working together a pleasure. I'll try writing something up about recognizing good behaviours instead. isaacl (talk) 21:49, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

This arbitration case has been closed and the final decision is available at the link above.

1. Collect is banned from any page relating to or making any edit about US politics or US political figures, in any namespace. This ban may be appealed no earlier than 18 months after its adoption.

2. Collect is indefinitely limited to one revert per article in any 24 hour period. This restriction excepts the reversal of unambiguous vandalism.

Arbitration case

There's been no discussion of the editor retention project per se in the case evidence, just links to the edits of the editor in question. So no defense is needed, and I don't anticipate any issues coming up in future, as it's the person's behaviour that is in question, not the views or opinions held. isaacl (talk) 00:48, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Almost Editor of the Week

Almost Editor of the Week
Under the procedures of Editor of the Week, your nomination having been submitted, seconded and supported, you definitely should have been awarded this, and it was only because you graciously declined the award that it did not go to you. In recognition of that, on behalf of all who supported the nomination, I would like to present you with the (first ever!) Almost Editor of the Week barnstar for all of your hard work on Wikipedia.

I submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

This is a bit of an odd nomination. I know it is against custom and probably a bit presumptuous, but I can't name anyone who deserves an eddy more, so I am nominating our good friend Buster7 (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for all of his work in WikiProject Editor Retention, for his commendable efforts in improving articles, for his work in the Co-op program, for his wikilove, for his work at the Help Desk, for his 41k+ edits and 13k+ mainspace edits, and generally in appreciation of his almost seven years of active service on Wikipedia. I've had the pleasure of working with him in this Wikiproject and via email, and briefly part of the Co-op program, and it has been an absolute honor. Buster, knowing you, you'll probably decline this- and feel free to if you so choose- but let's see if we can get this nomination seconded before he gets around to declining it. Buster7, a huge thank you for your service on Wikipedia.

Thank you for all your work on Wikipedia! --L235 (t / c / ping in reply) 02:33, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

  • Thank you, "L", for your kind words. And let it be known, far across WikiLand, that I appreciate you and all the other WER clerks and all the nominators over the years that have made the Eddy a success. I didn't do it alone. . Buster Seven Talk 12:36, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

I don't think

that I ever thanked you for your delightful and spirit raising poem. So I am doing so now. I keep waiting for life to get simpler and it just continues to get more complex. Not in a bad way, just not in a way that leads to wikiediting. Though the biography I am slowly reading on Clarence Darrow may yet yield fruit. I want you to be sure that both your honeyed words and your intention were appreciated. Life is good, Carptrash (talk) 15:42, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

Breaking News

Hot off the presses... [3]
Lindsey Graham promises to have ‘a rotating first lady’ if elected president.
Before this news item can even be considered for a WP Article, the three most obvious questions require answers:
1) How many "Rotating First Ladies" will be required during a four-year term of office?
2) How long will the "Rotating First Ladies" rotate?
3) Where will the potential rotating take place? The White House? The Oval Office? Air Force One?

Thank you!

Thanks for the gesture of friendship. I agree with you - Wikipedia is an impressive achievement. I actually used to edit here quite a bit many years ago, but I got a little bit too hooked on it and had to stop! Something came over me to so some extensive work on the Sanders article and I've enjoyed it, so I figured "what the hell" and created this account. HappyWanderer15 (talk) 23:47, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Conflict of Interest Statement

I think it’s very dangerous and wrong to allow a group of very strong, well-financed editors/individuals/companies who have no accountability to anyone other than their employers/stockholders/CEO's to have control over who gets access to the information in a Wikipedia article. Our readers don't know who writes the articles, who has input into the articles, who is gerrymandering the information to the benefit of their employer...not to the benefit of the article. . Co-op Pilot Results & Mentoring

Hey there! The Co-op has been on a hiatus for a bit, but we are planning on opening up shop again soon. When you're able, please read over and respond to this update on our talk page. We have favorable results from our final report regarding the pilot, and we are interested in seeing who is available to mentor when we reopen our space and begin to send out invites again. Thanks, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:16, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Ignore test Co-op match from Jmorgan (WMF) 2

Hi Buster7. Just wanted to give you a heads-up that HostBot matched my test learner profile with you at the Co-op. No action needed at this time ;) I_JethroBT is starting up the Co-op again this week, but we're only inviting ~10 newcomers per day for now. So you may be matched with some 'real' learners soon, but probably not too many. Let him know if you'd like to opt-out. Let me know if you have any questions about the bot or the FormWizard gadget (used for profile-creation). Best, Jmorgan (WMF) (talk) 19:24, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
Buster, thanks for all of your work getting EotW out in my absence ... I will be back soon and can reclaim the mantle in a few weeks if you would like, or if you would like to continue, I am more than OK stepping into the behind-the-scenes aspects of EotW. Your call, but either way, thanks for what you do! Go Phightins! 13:19, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks B. Its a rewarding and fulfilling task. I know you must be very busy with admin and The Signpost duties so, if you don't mind, I can continue. I'll be travelling in September but I should be OK even then. One favor I ask is that you take time to congratulate the awardee at some point during their week. You've probably seen me pushing that to other WER members but, as yet, I have not been able to create weekly participation. The few times that more than just a couple have shown up have been awesome and, I'm sure, stimulating to the recipient. Any ideas to increase congratulatory visits would be welcome. Your friend, B7. . Buster Seven Talk 15:24, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Hey, sorry for the delayed reply: if you would like to keep awarding, that is awesome, and yes, I will do my best to do a congratulatory visit ... that is my fault that I have fallen behind with those. As for stimulating participation, I am not sure how best to approach that ... will ponder. God bless, Go Phightins! 13:01, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

Something that might interest you...

Buster, you might be interested in a discussion I'm having with user:CorporateM on his talk page. It is related to the ongoing discussion on sexual harassment. Best, Gandy Gandydancer (talk) 15:24, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

I am blaming

my total inability to concentrate on the eye drops that I have to take . . ....... for the rest of my life. I get ideas for editing but then when I sit down and try to work on them they just sort of fade away. Someone recently told me that I have to finish my book on Parducci and I am inclined to give it a try, only every time I start . . .. But it was a nice feeling to get your note and I hope you don't view me as unappreciative or uninterested. Your picture perfectly caught the flavor of many PO murals, with the doors underneath. Maybe what I need to do is map out a road trip from PO to PO. Once that is done things just happen. Carptrash (talk) 16:38, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Refreshing page contents

Regarding this edit: on the off-chance you may have forgotten, if a page doesn't seem to have automatically refreshed its transcluded contents, try adding "?action=purge" to the end of the URL to force a page refresh. For example, for the Editor of the Week Hall of Fame, the appropriate URL to visit is the following: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Editor_Retention/Editor_of_the_Week/Hall_of_Fame?action=purge Hope that helps. isaacl (talk) 19:47, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Isaac. I think I understand...although I'm not real sure what "transcluded" means. All I carry in my toolbox is a 4-way screwdriver and a set of channel-lock pliers. All other repairs depend on tech guys like you. Always glad your around! . Buster Seven Talk 20:34, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
Pages can include the contents of other pages by reference, so when the other pages are updated, the including page changes. The Hall of Fame page currently includes 123 archive pages for the recipient infoboxes, so as you update an archive page, it shows up on the Hall of Fame page (once all 123 pages are used up, someone will have to go to the Hall of Fame page and add a whole bunch of new inclusions). However as an optimization, the Wikipedia server doesn't regenerate the page sent to your web browser every time you visit it; it saves a copy of the generated output and subsequent requests are sent this cached copy. I believe once a certain amount of time has elapsed, the server will regenerate the page again (editing the page of course also triggers a new page generation, and there may be other triggers). You can force the page to be regenerated by adding the "?action=purge" string to the end of the URL (the cached version of the page is purged and so a new version is generated). isaacl (talk) 20:47, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
That explains why sometimes, in the past, when I would create a new archive page, it didn't always show up right away, which caused me to be concerned that I had erred somehow. Today, I did things a little different in that I created the Archive page first ("under construction") and then I populated it with the copy of the "Eddybox" that was already loaded in "paste". And, then that mysterious noticfication was there in stead of Nableezy's Eddybox and I wasn't patient enough to wait. But...all's well that ends well. TY . Buster Seven Talk

Thanks for catching my error!

I honestly don't know how it happened. It wasn't intentional and I don't even remember clicking amything. But thanks for catching this error. Msnicki (talk) 07:14, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Glad to assist. I knew it was most likely a glitch in the system. The same thing happened to me a year ago or so. I had no explanation for a drastic undo at the talk page of a "grinch". TC. . Buster Seven Talk 16:14, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Dear Buster, you’re a brick. (If at first glance that appears less than complimentary, please find your spectacles and note the spelling.) Thank you also for fixing the seized mechanism in the clockwork parrot — it always amuses me to watch him pull his little tin feathers out and poop his little tin poops — and for stuffing the kapok back through the cat’s ear. As no doubt you noticed, I’m terrible at maintaining the place, and I can no longer afford to pay one of Mr. Trump's undocumented Mexican rapists to do it. (Lysistrata has expensive tastes. Payments on the Pagani Huayra alone come to $26,000 a month, and it’s proving difficult to persuade L that replacing it with such as a 1999 Honda Accord would be a stylish move, not least because then we could afford to actually drive to the thrift store. When I told her I think the Huayra interior is over the top, she said the inside of an Accord is beneath contempt. Do you know a chap who could screw some bits of titanium onto the dashboard? That might do the trick.) Writegeist (talk) 19:33, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

No other ways!

Hi Buster! Its been long since we talked last, how are you? I want to make an announcement but I can't figure out any other way but to drop a note on few intimate editor's talk page, including you! I appreciate if you can have few minutes to spend on reading this thread on my talk page. If you feel that I deserve a scholarship, I appreciate your endorsement on that thread. Please don't consider this an unusual spamming, I don't have any other way of announcing this. Thank you very much! Have a nice day! Jim Carter 12:57, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello

Good to see you again! But... :( --JustBerry (talk) 15:14, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

The cupboard is bare and I haven't the time to shake the trees for a candidate before I leave for vacation on Tuesday. If you have a likely candidate please nominate and I will award them next Sunday. The edit you reference above was just one of the many things in prep for the trip in case I forgot. ―Buster7  15:38, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
What happened to Gerda Arendt (Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/Editor of the Week/Nominations)? --JustBerry (talk) 15:47, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
Gerda has been nominated numerous times over the years. She has made it quite clear...each time...that she prefers NOT to receive the Award.―Buster7  15:54, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
(watching:) I don't want to cause you trouble, just thought that the award should go to the unnoticed contributor which I don't think I fit ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:15, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
