The 2021–22 season is Liverpool Football Club's 130th season in existence and the club's 60th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. In addition to the Premier League, Liverpool are participating in this season's editions of the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League, and won the EFL Cup for the ninth time in their history, more than any other club.

Transfer summary

Pre-season and friendlies

On 12 July 2021, Liverpool announced that they would play four friendlies as part of a pre-season training camp in Austria.[42] On 19 July, they stated that they would complete their pre-season campaign with two home friendlies.[43] On 29 July, the Reds confirmed that they would face Bologna in two sixty-minute matches as part of a training camp in France in between the previously announced engagements.[44]
