Kalyani Nagar is a neighbourhood located in the eastern region of Pune, India. It has a population of around 10,000.

It is named after Neelkanth Kalyani[1], one of the city's foremost industrialists who pioneered the Kalyani Forging company in the early 1960s[2]. Though prominently a residential area, rapid development and improved accessibility over the years has seen the emergence of many new buildings, shopping malls and IT parks with big name companies like HSBC and Cybage setting up their offices here. Lunkad Sky Lounge is one of the most premium residential projects here .It is considered as prime property in the real estate market[3] with some of the highest property prices being quoted in the city. Kalyani Nagar is popular for its restaurants, pubs and most notably Gold Adlabs multiplex.

Roads and Connectivity

There are three main roads in Kalyani Nagar - Vithalrao Vandekar Road (running from Aga Khan Bridge up to Nagarwala School Chowk) and East Avenue run along the western and eastern limits of the neighbourhood while the Central Avenue cuts through the middle. Vithalrao Vandekar Road and East Avenue are connected with the main national highway (Nagar Road) up north which gives access to adjoining localities like Shastri Nagar, Viman Nagar and Yerawada. Down south, Kalyani Nagar is connected to Koregoan Park via a recently constructed 300 meter bridge (Aga Khan Bridge) which runs above the Mula-Mutha river. This bridge has made significant difference by cutting down on distances to key areas like MG Road and the railway station.

Kalyani Nagar is conviniently located approximately 4 km from Pune Airport and about 5–6 km from the city's main railway station. The other areas of the city are connected through local buses and auto rickshaws. The less distant localities around Kalyani Nagar can be commuted through buses and also through six-seater auto rickshaws called Tum Tums.
