Khatauli bypass

As khatauli lies on the NH58 which is an important route for trade and commerce for the western Uttar Pradesh, it was decided that there should be a Bypass to Khatauli so that the traffic can move smoothly. As we all know that necessity is the mother of invention. Now Khatauli is also emerging as a big city.So to support current infrastructure and smooth functioning of city traffic now its necessary to route the unnecessary traffic through a bypass. So Govt. Attractions

As Khatauli is a small rural town, there are not many tourist attractions per se. Since it is located on the banks of the upper Ganga canal, this is the main attraction here. There are two beautiful motels located on the Ganga named "Cheetal" and "Cheetal Grand."(which are more famous than Khatauli) Cheetal is run by the UP Forest Department and Cheetal Grand by a private owner. These two parks attract lot of travelers from NH 58. There are no hotel facilities to stay in Khatauli itself. On the occasion of Holi,a rath yatra is organised every year in memory of Krishna devotee Pandit Jayanti Prasad Sharma, founder of Sri Krishna Samkirtana Bhawan (Geeta Bhawan). Holi Chowk is the most happening place of the Khatauli. Every year there is a famous carnival in Khatauli popularly called 'Mela Chhadiyan' or 'Chhadiyon ka Mela' also known as Mela Shravni, held near the temple of Goga Jaharvir. According to folk lore Goga Jaharvir is conisdered the king of snakes and is also known as Jahar Diwan. This carnival starts at Raksha Bandhan (a Hindu festival) and runs for a month. One of the famous things to eat in this Mela is 'Halwa Parantha' -
