Welcome to Wikipedia's page for requesting articles about companies, businesses, and organizations.

  • Wikipedia is a popular website which anyone can edit, so it attracts publicity agents and employees and supporters of a variety of organizations, who may decide to create or edit pages about their organizations. Such employees, as well as individuals who edit articles about themselves or friends, may have a conflict of interest. This page: Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations, answers some frequently asked questions.
  • Wikipedia has principles on which it was founded and by which it operates; some have been summarized in the form of five "pillars" - one that may apply to your request is Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia; as such it is not a place for advertisements or exclusively promotional material. The Wikipedia community have evolved a series of notability guidelines to ensure that the encyclopaedia does not become an indiscriminate collection of information or a web directory - the guideline that applies to companies, businesses, and organizations is Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), and that guideline will be applied to your request. The main point of this notability/encyclopaedia pillar is that even if a company exists, Wikipedia will only carry an article on it if it meets the relevant inclusion criteria. A business or organization is generally considered notable if it has been the subject of coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources.
  • You can assist Wikipedia decide if the company exists and is notable by providing a link to the company's website, and/or a link to at least one source that mentions the company. If you are not aware of any such sources and have no time to research yourself, then you may use the {{find}} template when submitting your request. Type {{find|"Company name"}} replacing "Company name" with the name of the company - for example: {{find|BAE Systems}} produces: Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL. Be aware that as the company site is a primary source, it cannot be used to establish notability.
  • You can check whether an article already exists for the business/organization by entering its name in the search box. You may need to try different name variations. You may also check the archive for this page to see if a request was previously rejected
  • If you would like to discuss and plan the creation of the proposed article go to the drawing board.
  • It can take a long time for requests to be reviewed and a decision made. If you can, it would be quicker to research and create the article yourself - though be prepared for the article to be swiftly deleted if it hasn't been prepared properly and doesn't meet Wikipedia's inclusion and notability criteria.

If creating an article please:

  • tag short articles as stubs. (To do so, add {{stub}} or a more specific tag to the bottom of the article.)
  • Add appropriate WikiProject banners, so that other specialist editors can assist in expanding the article
    • Companies - {{WikiProject Companies}}
    • Other Organizations - {{WikiProject Organizations}}
    • Other Business-related articles (Brand names etc.) - {{Business}}

Once you have reviewed a company for article creation please move it, with comments, to the archive.

I don't understand why since this is an alternative alcohol treatment center with amazing results. People need to know about this form of treatment due to the terrible rate of success of alcoholism treatment in the USA.
Cmmt If it's well-referenced and notable then it won't be deleted; or you can post good secondary sources here and someone will make a better page. --AndrewHowse (talk) 16:31, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
