    Tom Bergeron

Hello! How does a viewer state an opinion? I feel that this so called Tom is sure a horse's ass when he is on AFV and when he puts his head on some other person is such a turn off it makes some of us sick, out here that do not know how to get in touch with you people, I sure would hope thta you people will put him in his place, which should be in control of the out house, he just make such a fool og himself, it is getting mighty hard to watch the AFV any more also he is no prince in Dancing with the stars, some time he just trips on his own two feet, it also make it hard to watch, cause just like to take to the side and tell him, he is no longer needed on this show!

So I am now hopeing that some body up there will take some steps to improve the shows, with out him get him to clean up his act or I may have to report the whols thing to the FCC> —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.18.6.118 (talk) 00:18, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect, based on your question, that you found one of our over 3.5 million articles and thought we were affiliated in some way with that subject. Please note that you are at Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia that anyone can edit, and this page is for asking questions related to using or contributing to Wikipedia itself. Thus, we have no special knowledge about the subject of your question. You can, however, search our vast catalogue of articles by typing a subject into the search field on the upper right side of your screen. If you cannot find what you are looking for, we have a reference desk, divided into various subject areas, where asking knowledge questions is welcome. Best of luck. How do I mark a line as original research?

I would like to mark a line in the Elizabeth Zimmermann page as original research/citation needed, because I have reason to believe from personal experience that the information may be incorrect and would like to see a source for it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to do this. (It might also be helpful in the future) Ullpianissimo (talk) 03:18, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I searched autism on Google and the definition that came up under Wikipedia's definition used the F-word. This is not ok. This has to be corrected. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.115.77.124 (talk) 03:39, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like Google cached a vandalised version of the page, which wave live for all of 2 minutes. It's down to Google though I'm afraid - I'm not sure anything can be done. Will just have to wait until Google update their listings again. Rehevkor 03:47, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Google does this sort of thing all the time. They take snapshots of Wikipedia pages at random times. Even though most blatant vandalism on Wikipedia gets reverted within a few minutes at most (because we have software tools that detect curse words and so on), with the thousands of pages getting vandalized, Google occasionally catches one in a naughty state before it gets fixed here. Because Google's indexing is automated, there is no human in the loop over there to catch this stuff. Wikipedia might someday solve the problem for the most part with flagged revisions, which would presumably keep most of the blatant vandalism from ever reaching the top revision that Google sees.--Teratornis (talk) 06:25, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    watchlist in chronological order

Hello, I have been using wikipedia for many years and I find it extremely useful in researching topics which interest me. However, sometimes I want to view again items i have saved on my watchlist but am not able to bring up those items in chronological order. I would be grateful if you could let me know if this is possible and how one might be able to have one's watchlist presented in the order in which it was saved. That way I can start my new research session with ease by looking at the last set of pages I have saved. I very much appreciate your help. Yours sincerely, w0421006 W0421006 (talk) 05:16, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

For maximum flexibility, make a user subpage with links to pages in any order you like. That's more work than adding pages to a watchlist, but we get a lot of questions from people who are disappointed with the extremely limited flexibility of the watchlist feature. If you're serious about researching Wikipedia (or anything else), you have to write. --Teratornis (talk) 06:07, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Incidentally, the pedant in me wonders if many can be more than ten. Wiktionary defines "many" as "An indefinite large number of people or things." Wikipedia has only existed for ten years, so for someone to have used Wikipedia for many years, the value of many would have to be less than or equal to ten. Unless one had invented a time machine many years before Wikipedia existed. --Teratornis (talk) 06:42, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You seem to want to use a watchlist for something that it wasn't designed for. The watchlist is for watching for changes to articles. It's not really intended to be used for research and bookmarking purposes. Dismas|(talk) 06:54, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please, I do not want Wikipedia to load without my input. I have had it load in a new tab when it is already open in another tab/window. Please help me stop this.192.117.8.26 (talk) 07:42, 29 January 2011 (UTC)Ubberfrustrated[reply]

Are you clicking a link somewhere when it happens? If you make a normal click on a link to Wikipedia from another website then the other website usually decides whether Wikipedia opens in a new tab. Browsers I know also have options to control it manually by right clicking a link or holding down Shift or Ctrl while clicking the link. And browsers have settings to control the default behaviour. PrimeHunter (talk) 11:00, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No. I load, what seems like any page to include while in inPrivate browsing and Wikipedia will load in a new tab. I have even been away from my computer and when I return Wikipedia has opened several new tabs. It started with solicitations for donations and has not stopped. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.117.8.26 (talk) 05:48, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    Help regarding WP:AUTHOR

Could someone who is familiar with WP:AUTHOR take a look at User_talk:Smartse#Simon_Higgins and User:Smartse/simon_higgins and try to work out whether this guy meets the guideline. The author has provided information about himself and is trying to correct past mistakes after his biography was deleted via PROD earlier this month. I'm really not sure whether the guideline is met and don't want to start an article unless it is. (I thought about asking at WT:BOOK but it doesn't seem very active). Biography Correction

So I corrected wrong info in biography of Jay Manuel and was reverted right back to incorrect info immediately. Why? The person could not possibly have checked the facts that quickly and my info came straight from Mr Manuel himself via his verified Twitter page. One would think he would know where he was born and raised. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.89.227.205 (talk) 17:32, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why? The reason given was "Cite source please", which is a legitimate request. Generally Twitter is not a reliable source for anything. If you require further discussion on the subject the place to do so would be at the article talk page. Rehevkor 17:40, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that we have no way of knowing whether the information did come from Jay Manuel, or whether you made it up, or whether you got it from somebody who said he was Jay Manuel, or ... This is not meaning to be rude to you: on the internet we don't know who anybody is or whether they are who they say are. So Wikipedia has a rule that all information must be verifiable from independent published sources. Sorry. --ColinFine (talk) 22:09, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Twitter is an acceptable source for factual info such as this provided it is clear that the account really is Jay Manuel's - as it is in this case since his official site links to it. Just put in the correction then click on "Template" on the menu above the edit box; select "cite web" and fill in the web page url and any other info you can. You don't have to fill in every box on this form. Hope this helps filceolaire (talk) 23:32, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The mentioned edit feature is only present for logged in users who have enabled refTools under "Gadgets" at Special:Preferences. See Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners and Template:Cite web instead. PrimeHunter (talk) 14:35, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What url to use Wikipedia as a "Research Site" in Microsoft Word 2010 Research Options?

Microsoft Word 2010, Research Options, provides the ability to enter a url for Word to use when called upon to research words or phases. I would like to setup Wikipedia as a "research site". Is there a special url I should enter into Word? Example - The url to use Bing is, http://api.bing.com:80/officequery.asmx NVmemor (talk) 19:13, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t think Wikipedia provides such a Research Service. Back in 2003 there was a suggestion for one at Wikipedia:Suggestion box/Archive 2#Wikipedia integration with Microsoft Word and a question and reply at Wikipedia:Help desk/Archive 3#microsoft word 2003. But I can’t find anything about the idea being implemented. I get the idea that although Microsoft is pushing the idea, it hasn’t caught on outside Microsoft. For reference, MSDN has an article Creating a Research Service for Word 2007 in C# with Visual Studio 2008. —teb728 t c 05:53, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    Please help with collapsed navbox

    hello,

I have a few questions about this {{Masters of Russian Animation}} template:

    • How do I add "4" instead of only "2" images (2 to the right and 2 to the left)?
    • Why the titlestyle background in each group doesn't display?
    • How do I add pictures in a group?

    If I will find anything I don't understand, I will add here more. Thank you.-- ♫Greatorangepumpkin♫ T 19:30, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the template there had been placed a non-free image, where non-free content cannot be placed (see Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria#9. Why do you need so many images in a navbox, surely one free image is sufficient for decoration purposes? Rehevkor 20:06, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is not fair to remove the picture from the template! However, my questions were still not solved...-- ♫Greatorangepumpkin♫ T 10:47, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    Translation errors: Non-Western script

In some pages where an Indic script has been tranliterated, the roman transliteration character does not tally with the Indic script. How to correct this error? For the most part, it is unlikely that the original authors were in error, rather, they typed in the nearest character they could, probably without realising that a different font was available.

It seems (I may be wrong here), that article pages appear on the Edit page in the Latin font, whereas Latin Extended would be more appropriate, giving as it does, a greater range of transliteration characters.

I would also like to know how authors get Indic scripts (or any other non-Western script for that matter), into articles in the first place, as the Edit page certainly doesn't show anything of that nature. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.163.109.128 (talk) 21:47, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As for the first part: WP:SOFIXIT. Perhaps that is all they had available on their computers or they didn't know how to access the Latin Extended characters (they are not on the keyboard).
As for the last part, using the system's character palette (or character map, as some operating systems call it), like this: דוגמה (means "example"). -- Bk314159 (Talk to me and find out what I've done) 02:32, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    Wikipedia cybersquatting by yeah.com

Anyone else hate it when you type in a Wikipedia URL and it takes you to yeah.com. It's an illegal website with malware on it. I solved it, but:

    Mr. Wales

It says on a page what to click on to contact Mr. Wales but when I went to the page, there was nothing there that said it was the way to contact him.

The reason I am writing is because I read that he wanted to include information about Jesus in Wikeipedia. He should do a search for "St. Issa and read Jesus Lived in India and The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali or How to Know God. In it he will discover that any human being can do all the things Jesus did that were called miracles, and more. Any human being who has gained full consciousness, the state of full Enlightenment, Unity Consciousness, can do them. Such a person is called a "yogi." Jesus was a student of a Vedic master for a number of years. He came on Earth to do what he did. He taught the knowledge just enough for it to become a religion, which is a set of beliefs based on what he said and did but the specifics of what he was teaching is not included in most if not all religions. I went to a Baptist church and remember the minister saying that Jesus said "The kingdom of heaven is within," and "Even greater miracles than these (the ones he did) can ye do." No one in the Baptist religion is doing miracles because one has to gain Enlightenment to be able to do them. No one in any other one is either, at least not that I know of, and if they did, it wouldn't be because they "believed."

    Technical help sought

Please someone tell me is there any page on wikipedia which teaches how to use technical content on wikipedia. Like if a new user wants to learn how to create new templates, infoboxes, userboxes etc. and he wants to use his own imagination rather than copy-paste from other wikipedias, like we do in HTML. Wikimedia commons is project which gathers together images which are licensed so they can be freely used on any of the different language wikipedias or anywhere else. If the image you want comes from there (and most images on Wikipedia do) then it is pretty sure to be available for you to use provided you include the link back to it's page there (which has the licence info). Read the info there to check. filceolaire (talk) 23:05, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The website you mention is your website. The address on the registration matches your address on your personal/professional website, even though the registrant's name is different from yours. See here. You have a clear conflict of interest. I've also posted a warning on your Talk page about your username, which violates Wikipedia policy. My suggestion is that if you think your website is helpful and relevant to the article, you raise it on the article's Talk page - as a rule, you shouldn't change the page directly with respecto your own website (see WP:LINKSPAM). At this point, your website is pretty bare - it appears to consist of just the one page with the two maps. There is no About on the website or anything else to give the website any foundational context as to its purpose in existing.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:59, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The last time it was reverted by Jfdwolff because "unhelpful site - doesn't actually discuss any work done, just the names of institutions and people who seem to be involved". I looked at the site and came to the same conclusion as Jfdwolff. The page is not very helpful in helping readers to understand Dengue fever. You probably should read our guidance on external links, WP:External links. Also you username makes it appear you have a conflict of interest. ~~ GB fan ~~ 20:07, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1:1 translation of a german article

The article Mercedes-Benz CLS New was translated today into english, but there is no symbol for it. Can anybody help? -- M 93 (talk) 20:20, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I do not understand what you mean by "no symbol for it". It is not clear at all whether the word "New" is in fact a part of the official name of the car or merely a descriptive adjective that has been incorrecly included in the article title by a translator who didn't understand the distinction. However, in my opinion the article should be speedy deleted as blatant advertising. It looks like a direct translation of a promotional article published by the manufacturer. Roger (talk) 20:43, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(ec) What do you mean by "symbol for it"? Do you mean something to signify that it was translated today? If so, take a look at Category:Wikipedia translation templates. Otherwise, could you talk a bit more about what you're after? Mesoderm (talk) 20:46, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    Permission in fair use

Particularly on logos for television series that are solely intended to identify the subject, what constitutes "permission" for a non-free image under fair use? It's a copyrighted album cover for Straight No Chaser (Mr Hudson album). File:Mr Hudson-Straight No Chaser.jpg is already used on that article as fair use to illustrate the album but I doubt there is justification for using it on the biography of the musician. It's also a manipulated piece of art and would be less suited in an infobox for a person. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:51, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see you added File:Mr Hudson-Straight No Chaser.jpg to the biography with fair use claim "Artist uses this image for his official facebook too".[1] That is insufficient (and fair use claims should be on the image page) so I have removed the image. Editing "our own" entry (Monash University)

The Monash University media team has been contacted by colleagues expressing concern that our Wikipedia entry now includes a "This article is written like an advertisement" notice on it.

More than that, we're concerned that the offending introduction also contains several factual errors.

We'd like to change this introduction , but we're not sure about what the "etiquette" is. We've drafted our own revision, but should we post it ourselves? Should we recommend changes to someone else? Should we take a different course of action?

Many thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Monash University (talkcontribs) 02:15, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well first your user name violates policy as a company name. Second, if you post yourself, it could be a WP:COI. Do you have a rough draft you can post on your talk page that someone can review? CTJF83 02:18, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You shouldn't edit the article, the way to address the problems is to use the article talk page, Talk:Monash University, to address your concerns. It would be good for you to read WP:COI, our conflict of interest guideline. The other concern I have is that your username appears to violate our username policy. Usernames are per individual and you username appears to indicate that your username is for a group of people. ~~ GB fan ~~ 02:25, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice and sorry about the name - we only chose it to be as transparent as we could. Up until now we've very deliberately chosen not to create a Wikipedia account, but have now become concerned with some of the misinformation in the article's introduction.

No, the footnotes, aren't the same and use of outdated footnotes is one of our concerns. The article seems to be using old references in some cases. For instance, our 2010 "Pocket Statistics - http://www.opq.monash.edu.au/us/summary/pocketstats-2010.pdf - would be better used for basic figures such as student numbers instead of our 2009 statistics. Also, we would suggest making certain deletions that would remove certain footnotes entirely. You can try... but autobiographies often fail Wikipedia guidelines on neutrality and whatnot. Use this to create your article (choose the option where you can submit it for review), and be sure to read the notability guidelines and the reliable source guidelines before anything. [CharlieEchoTango] 06:30, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You can, but you should be aware of certain guidelines. Please first read Wikipedia:Autobiography, and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest (in addition to the ones pointed out above). -- œ 06:33, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I would submit it to WP:Articles for creation, and have someone without a COI write it. You could help them find sources, and give them direction, but it would probably be best if you didn't write it yourself. Mesoderm (talk) 08:25, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
A quick correction : AfC is not the place to request an article to be written; we only review new submissions (and give advice). And just to clarify, the subject can (try to) write it himself if he uses the review process at AfC, thus the link above. If it is notable, appropriately sourced and conform to NPOV and whatnot, then being the subject does not disqualify article from being moved to the mainspace. [CharlieEchoTango] 08:45, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oops. I was think of WP:RA, not WP:AFC. Anyway, I wasn't suggesting that he can't write one, but that it's probably best if he didn't to alleviate any concerns about COI. If he can do it neutrally though, I don't personally see a problem with it (I was just concerned that other people might).      Done You are entitled to a user page just like any other user. Has nothing to do with having an account or not. [CharlieEchoTango] 09:27, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was about to create the page for the IP, but decided against it. There are IPs with userpages (see Category:Anonymous Wikipedians), but they are mostly static IPs. 24.177.120.74 is a dynamic IP so when s/he returns, they'll be on another IP. Therefore, the userpage would not be very useful. Goodvac (talk) 09:44, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good point, and I wouldn't know how to differentiate static IPs from dynamic IPs (is there a tool for that?), but the 'opposition' he was facing both here and on his/her talk page was not called for. Any user is entitled to have his/her userpage, and IP users are contributors just like others. Now I agree that this being a dynamic IP, it makes things a bit more complicated, but nonetheless the IP is currently a user in good-standing and thus entitled to a userpage. [CharlieEchoTango] 09:48, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
whatismyipaddress.com/ tells you whether an IP is dynamic or static.

Bots and other "automagic" to help improve a newly created stub

A list of all Wikipedia bots can be found here. However I am not aware of bots that are operated for the purpose of creating article content, which I guess is what you are asking for. Bots are primarily used to perform recurring article maintenance tasks. Content creation (and of course previous collection of content) is actually our task as editors here. I think any such bot (and I doubt creation of such a bot would be possible) would make us as editors redundant and as such a bot or tool like that will perhaps never be created.Toshio Yamaguchi (talk) 15:10, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I understand bots can't create content but they can check and fix formatting, add suitable templates, notify relevant WikiProjects to attract more editors and so on. Roger (talk) 15:35, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you want a template to attract attention of editors to a specific task that should be performed on the article, you can choose one or more of the Cleanup templates and add appropriate ones to that article. Adding these templates to an articles places that article in a category of articles having this template on it such that editors looking at the category can find the article. And most of the bots performing cleanup/formatting tasks run periodically through all articles. So you will have to wait until one runs over the article. I am however not an expert on bots and I am not sure if there is a bot that can be directly used by editors to be run over a specific article. Academic Sources that are Controversial: Wikipedia Policy?

I'd like to know if a policy has been developed on Wikipedia regarding including material in articles that is well-sourced to books and articles published by reputable publishers or in academic journals, but which have caused a lot of controversy and debate. In other words, the sources are legitimate, yet strongly disputed in other sources. We are facing this situation at the article on Ramakrishna. Devadaru (talk) 16:26, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If information is controversial, cite the source explicitly so it is clear that cited text is not universally accepted. For example, say "According to John Doe, the earth is flat. However, Jane Smith states that the earth is more doughnut shaped". In other words, where there is NOT agreement in academic sources, Wikipedia should also not pretend there is agreement. Let the article be in the voice of the experts, since Wikipedia's voice is supposed to be neutral, if there is a genuine disagreement among academics, then make that explicit in the article. However, and I cannot stress this enough, do not give undue weight to fringe opinions. If the overwhelming academic opinion is that John Doe is a crackpot, and no one gives his opinion any serious credence, then don't bother reporting his opinion at all. Just make sure the Wikipedia article reflects the general, mainstream understanding of the subject. And if the mainstream understanding is split, represent that as well. --Jayron32 23:14, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. We are having just such a problem over at Talk:Ramakrishna with a very long-running argument about which sources deserve more weight—how to decide just who are the "experts". Some ideas are propounded by a few scholars which vast numbers of other people, including some scholars, consider as lunacy. Devadaru (talk) 02:37, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you feel that WP:NPOV is being violated on a particular article, you should take it to the neutral point of view noticeboard, or seek some kind of third-party dispute resolution. -- Mesoderm (talk) 03:32, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

May I point out that a) I have only once edited an article, some month ago, where I corrected the spelling of "Tow Tree Island" to "Two Tree Island" which is where I volunteer with the EWT, b) I have no idea about Ball Bearings, never searched for an article or edited one of that nature, same applies to the Duke Ellington article.

It would be very kind if you could explain how I came to be suspected with such activities. BTW, our connection is not shared and not wireless either, so hardly any chance of someone else having used our connection without us knowing.

Thank you very much for your time

This has (possibly) nothing to do with you. You should have looked at the dates these notifications were posted: nearly a year ago! mabdul 19:40, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you carry on reading to the bottom of your talk page it includes the following: "This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. ..." - David Biddulph (talk) 20:26, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I plugged your IP address into the tool cited above at Wikipedia:Help_desk#User_Page_Creation_Request, and yes, it is indeed a dynamic one and will change periodically. A year ago, the offending edits were made by whoever was editing from the address that is currently assigned to you. Karenjc 20:32, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Let me just add that Special:Contributions/84.13.63.214 shows the vandalism edits by that IP address in April 2010. You can just ignore it or create an account. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:25, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    Today's Best Nonfiction

Do you have any information on the Reader's Digesst series, Today's Best Nonfiction. Specifically I am looking for the kind of information you have on the Reader's Digest Condensed Book Series where you have listed each volume and the contents. I have a collection of the nonfiction books but several are missing, and I would like to identify the ones I do not as yet have by year and volume number.

Thank you for any help you can provide. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.251.115.208 (talk) 21:01, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is created by volunteers, and contains information when somebody has chosen to put it in (and has found a reliable source for it). If that information is not there, it probably means that nobody has been interested in collecting it here (though it could mean that nobody has found a reliable source for it). So the chances are that the answer is no, not in Wikipedia. However, we do have a Reference Desk where you can ask questions like this and people might dig a bit and find the information for you. --ColinFine (talk) 23:58, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    Australian place categorization

Barcaldine Region (and many other Australian districts) is currently in Category:2008 establishments. It should be moved into Category:States and territories established in 2008. Its membership of the former category appears to be imparted by Template:Infobox Australian place which includes the code :

    {{#ifeq:{{{type|}}} | lga | {{#ifexist:Category:{{{est}}} establishments|[[Category:{{{est}}} establishments|{{{name}}}]]}} | {{#ifexist:Category:Populated places established in {{{est}}}|[[Category:Populated places established in {{{est}}} |{{{name}}}]]}}{{#ifexist:Category:Populated places established in the {{{est}}}|[[Category:Populated places established in the {{{est}}}

Regions have <type>=lga and hence they are made members of for example Category:2008 establishments; this needs to be changed to Category:States and territories established in 2008. It appears an easy change but I am not confident enough to do it; can anyone assist? One other question - how quickly will such a change be reflected in the actual categorizations of the regions ? Thanks GrahamHardy (talk) 22:04, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Takes about 24-48 hours to go through. One question though - why states and territories? LGAs are the next level down (municipal government, basically.) Orderinchaos 22:36, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_Night_Special_(film)

This Wikipedia entry is totally self-serving and laudatory in a creepy way. There's a page about himself that is equally self-promoting. It looks like he wrote both pages

This gentleman runs a "film festival," The New Mexico Film Festival, which is apparently intended to promote his own projects.

Please advice and/or refer to the proper Wikipedia authorities. I'm wary of this whole situation.

    Thank you --

    help with editing at all

Here's the thing: I understand that when I edit something there's a good chance that it will be changed in a few weeks or even a few months, but there's one article in particular that, when I replaced it with my own, my article was submitted but in less than a day it was replaced with the original article. I thought it was a glitch so I did it again, but the same thing happened. I never had any problems with any other articles I submitted, so why is this happening? Is there something about my account that I don't know about. By the way, all the articles I submit are my own handwriting and no one else's. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluegirl285 (talkcontribs) 05:30, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've saved the page for "Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) Marketing Hub" but unable to find this and it says there is no such page.

Please advice on what to do.
