    Orphaned non-free image File:Vettai-poster06.jpg

    DASHBot's edit to Abominations (album)

DASHBot seems to have messed up here. This is the edit it made and this is after my correction and what I assume it intended. The format of the original ratings was somewhat unusual (I did not have a part in writing it), but unfortunately the bot made it somewhat worse. I am informing you so that you can consider rewriting or adding to the current bot code to make it edit more conservatively in such circumstances. I have not attempted to shut the bot off as this may be a rare case. --MegaSloth (talk) 19:28, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Possible to retrieve page that just got deleted?

Hi Tim. The page Two_envelopes_problem/sources has been deleted recently in a very speedy manner. I did not manage to stop the deletion in time. Can the page be retrieved in some way? iNic (talk) 05:29, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

    Image: File:Escort vol13 no3.jpg is referenced in page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escort_(magazine)

This image should not be deleted as,

I have completed the fair use rationale for this image thus:

Description: Front cover of Escort Vol 13, no 3 illustrating original cover design

Source: photograph of Escort Vol 13, no 3 taken by myself

    Article: Escort (magazine)

    Portion used: Full cover

Low resolution?: lower resolution than the original, so cannot be used for counterfeit purposes

Purpose of use: To illustrate original design of magazine up to and including 1995

Replaceable?: It is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value, as all issues of the magazine are similarly copyrighted

Other information: This cover design has been discontinued, hence it gives historic information about the magazine

It qualifies as fair use on the basis of:

This image is of a magazine cover, and the copyright for it is most likely held by either the publisher of the magazine or the individual contributors who worked on the cover depicted. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of magazine covers

    • to illustrate the publication of the issue of the magazine in question
    • with the publication name either visible on the image itself or written in the image description above,

on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Silver Barnet (talk) 19:43, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
