Included in his 38 plus years of coaching the Slicers, Ken has established a record that will most likely stand the test of time, 1010 wins and 217 losses for an outstanding winning percentage of .823. He is the winningest coach in the state of Indiana in any sport, ranks third in the nation in victories. Included in those 1010 victories are 25 conference titles, 28 sectionals, 18 regionals and 11 semi-states that led to a record 7 state championships, 1967, 1971, 1976, 1982, 1987, 1990, and 1992. The 1973 team was a state runner-up.

Terminology

  • On the bubble (sports) – Can apply to any sport or other entertainment, but often taken to mean either a team that is barely in contention for a post-season berth and needs to either win and/or have the results of other team's games go a certain way for the team to make the post-season; or a player who is in contention for a spot on a team's roster but needs to do certain things to be considered. Sports-related articles in which the term has been used: [24] and [25] [26]
  • Clemsoning-sourced [27] and [28]. The act of delivering an inexplicably disappointing performance, usually within the context of a college football season. Clemson has clemsoned for the past three years in the school's losses to West Virginia, and twice to Florida State, respectively. (i.e. Oklahoma State's overtime loss to an unranked Iowa State was a full-blown clemsoning.)
  • Dial-A-Down (American football) A Dial-A-Down is a trademarked device[4] used in American football by officials to judge the distance of the ball from different points on the field; usually in measuring distance from the scrimmage line to the next first down or field goal. It is generally constructed various weather proof material and large enough to be seen from any general area near the field. They are built using a long pole, an anchor or chain to mark the start point and a flip card tablet at the top with bright colored numbering to indicate the down and or distance in yards remaining. They are used in post-secondary and collegiate extra-curriculum football conferences also, to notify teams, coaches, officials and spectators of the current down and the distance from or to the next scrimmage.

Cal Ripken Jr. broke the consecutive games record held by Lou Gehrig. Derek Jeter hitting a walk off against the Orioles in his last game at Yankee Stadium. Several notable moments have happened including fierce competition during the 1970's and 1990's.

    • (I don't know what it means, though I can guess; I'm not a wrestling fan.)
    • (The term is used in WWE § Prior to Titan Sports.+ It wasn't defined there, but as I was copyediting the article, I checked; it has a wikilink, so I linked it. But that link is just a redirect to Job (professional wrestling), which doesn't mention the expression at all! I've been going round and round Portal:Professional wrestling trying to find the right place to mention this, but there's no listing for "terms used and linked in Wikipedia articles but not defined anywhere in Wikipedia". (Until I made one.)
I ran a search for the expression. +It's found in 55 articles including the redirect so named, almost all of them articles about pro wrestlers. Obviously this is a term that needs an article, or at least a clear definition that can be directly linked to. AWB says Job (professional wrestling) has never contained the expression.
