List of Chinese administrative divisions by GDP
Province-level divisions of China by: |
---|
The article lists China's province-level divisions by gross domestic product (GDP). Each province's GDP is listed in both the national currency renminbi (CN¥), and at nominal values according to annual average exchange rates and according to purchasing power parity (PPP). Historical figures and rankings, including purchasing power parity (PPP) figures, are also given for main years since 1978. Figures for Hong Kong and Macau, which are special administrative regions of the PRC but do not use the same currency, are listed after the main list for comparative purposes.[1][2]
All the CN¥ figures are from the National Bureau of Statistics of China.[3] Annual PPP rates are taken from the International Monetary Fund's World Economic Outlook databases.
Notes
This is a list of the first-level administrative divisions of Mainland China (including all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities) in order of their total gross domestic product. Currency figures are given in millions. 1 USD nominally converts to 6.23 CNY according to the average 2013 exchange rate, and to 3.7603 by purchasing power parity (though prices vary from region to region within China). The Hong Kong, and Macau GDP figures are given in US dollars based on purchasing power parity. Currency data is based on IMF WEO figures from April 2012.
For the 2012 figures, nominal GDP comparisons are given between each province and sovereign countries with similar GDPs. Equivalent countries are listed for both the current and previous year.
