On the subject of removing "In wrestling": I don't know how to use this for communication but you'll see this anyway so whatever. The removal of that particular section across the board is an absolutely terrible decision. It's a highly valuable resource to a lot of people and quite possibly the cause of most traffic to these pages. This seems to be the general consensus outside of this circle of wiki editors. The entire point of wikipedia is to provide information on the subjects at hand, removal of any information goes against that very concept. It's like removing the discography section from a musical artist's page. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

From how it appears, it looks like a handful of wiki editors agreed on this change before closing the topic at hand before anyone can protest. That's hardly a consensus, and I think the user backlash is doing a pretty good job at showing that. [[WP:ENGAGE|I'd like to go ahead and double down on what the previous user said.]]

WWE Hall of Fame

I just looked at Edge and Shawn Michaels' entries and both mention their secondary championship wins. DaveA2424 (talk) 23:19, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring will get us nowhere. DaveA2424 (talk) 23:26, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

1, I just removed your edition once. the second one was another user (LM2000 That's not true; see Edge or Shawn Michaels. We gotta summarize) We summarize their wins. Michaels, we don't include the WWE Tag team, World Tag Team nor the European. Edge, we don't include the WCW US or IC. Bret Hart, we don't inclue the IC, US and Tag Team (WWF and WCW). --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 23:29, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It seems a little neglectful to leave out accolades but if that's the general consensus then I'll go with it to avoid edit wars. DaveA2424 (talk) 23:46, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice how Shawn Michaels' Intercontinental Championship wins are mentioned. DaveA2424 (talk) 00:43, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WWE Hall of Fame

I don't understand why it is acceptable for use on one Wikipedia page and not another though.

WWE Hall of Fame

Why did you remove the images that I inserted into the WWE Hall of Fame wiki page? The images were taken from the individuals' wiki pages so I figured that there would be no issue with inserting them into the WWE Hall of Fame wiki page, seeing as they were already on Wikipedia so there should be no problem. Some valuable new info on the WWC Titles

She's still with the company she's stated this in an interview in an interview in the Huffington Post, well done for ruining it.

Answer to question asked to J.V. Hernandez

— Preceding unsigned comment added by J.V. Sting's themes

they where on there ever since that page was made, themes do not need to be sourced, if you search for this song the "Crow" or any others on the page you would know he used it and it was his, also if your going to do it do him to it do the 100's wrestlers on this site because sourced also, and the reason people know they names of the songs is because WCW released them on CD — Preceding unsigned comment added by Salineb (talkcontribs) 14:39, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Entrance themes 2

well then remove every wrestlers themes because none of them are sourced, that's my problem, you remove his but not anybody else — Preceding unsigned comment added by Salineb (talkcontribs) 14:44, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Accents

I see plenty of Joses and Diazes on Wikipedia without the accent marks. Even if their real names have those marks, it's original research to add them if you don't have the sources to back it up. リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen) (talk) 12:56, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's not about whether I believe you or not. It's about whether it can be sourced that his name has the mark. "José" is absolutely more common than "Jose", but there are two different sources in the article that have his last name written with the mark over "i" in "Rodríguez" but not over the "e" in "Jose". I'm not going to revert the Alberto Del Rio thing, 'cause I believe it's very likely you're right despite the sources. Ricky Reyes is a different issue. I see many Diazes around without the mark, for example guys like Nick Diaz. リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen) (talk) 16:28, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion was closed as "no consensus". I talked to the closing administrator about the closure. He or she said that we must prove "Mike Dalton" as a less commonly-used name. I can pull up only this year's articles from reliable sources (no wrestling-only sources, please). Bleacher Report uses two ring names, including Tyler Breeze, of the same person. We should be careful of picking sources. As for sports-only sources, probably try ESPN or any other that qualifies as reliable.

I couldn't find "matt clement" or "mattias clement" in articles. --George Ho (talk) 02:29, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Matt Taven

Can u stop deleting my stuff about Matt Taven please. It took me many days to gather that information and put it in his article. The info i put is all ppv matches. Also the more fans know the better.. Please leave my edits i would really appreciate it — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peroxwhyhalo (talkcontribs) 16:15, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

whether they were ppvs or events they still tell a lot about his titleshots and defenses and his matches in general and they are important — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peroxwhyhalo (talkcontribs) 16:30, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

before i put that info about matt taven did you know any or at least some of that stuff? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peroxwhyhalo (talkcontribs) 16:34, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've warned him for edit warring, if he continues then we can report him. I've also added the articles to my watchlist so I'll keep an eye out for problems.LM2000 (talk) 22:32, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry about before and I was not trying to start any problems. You said my information was unsourced. If I could get sources for this information could it stay on the pages? The reason I added these matches is because they tell a lot what led to a lot of his title defenses. Also, this is just my opinion but I feel that you and me both could add more to his section about the independent circuit. I've heard that prior to signing with ROH he did a lot of wrestling in England. Once again, I was not trying to start any problems. I am still kind of new to Wikipedia and I'm trying to make my favorite pages the best they can be, especially the Cedric Alexander page which I made myself.

                         Sincerely,
Peroxwhyhalo — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peroxwhyhalo (talkcontribs) 02:25, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why?

Why did you undo my edits I consulted it with Ribbon Salminen and he said what I had put was fine was fine. Plus all I did was put what PPV he defended the title at with the specific wrestler.

Its important because people should know why he was defending the title against these people and when he defended them.

A match like that is important because those kind of matches lead to title defenses. Without info like that it would seem like ROH is just giving title shots out left and right to anyone.

Just so you know the title defenses all being in one line was not me.

Sting

The whole Unassigned section was originally created during the days of the brand extension, when we didn't know if guys were going to be on Raw or SmackDown or ECW.

These days, it's more for placing guys that we don't know if they're going on the main roster or NXT.

I highly doubt Sting is going to NXT.

Help

See [1]. Could you please explain to PRwrestlinganalyst regarding the Superman Punch - No original research. From the sources in Superman punch - the attacker does not need to jump. Seems to me that Reigns is not doing a traditional Superman punch. WWE.com says Reigns is doing a "jumping right cross", but PRwrestlinganalyst keeps removing it from the article. starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 02:37, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you. Invented or not, is actually not very important to me. What's more important is that WWE.com says that it is a jumping right cross. So why not write "Superman Punch (jumping right cross)"? starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 11:20, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wrestlers who resigned with TNA

I am not understanding your changes at all. What are your criteria for who you list and who you don't? If someone felt it was necessary to include it, the burden is on you to prove it should not be there. Its properly sourced, so whoever posted it fulfilled their requirements. What grounds are you using for removing the people you list? Additionally the way you did it makes no sense. How can you say "1, 2 or 3 all resigned." - GalatzTalk 14:00, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: edits to WWE Grand Slam Definition

When you did the removal of the edits I did, you also blanked out the parts of the current roster that are also one belt away. Triple H is semi-active (hasn't officially retired and may as well count as part-time), Kane is still active, Hardy is still active in pro-wrestling (not in WWE but still), Randy Orton is still active and is also a belt away, Sheamus is still active as well. Can you undo your edits and replace them? Rather not get into an edit war again. retched (talk) 15:00, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

But Jericho is still listed on the WWE Roster page? I'd understand if he was alumni, but he is still listed as one of their superstars. And this holds true even if he is only doing the podcasts currently as he stated he is doing live events. If we're only listing superstars that can complete one of the grand slams, then why list them as part of the new grand slam if they've already achieved it under the old ones? Regardless of WWE's article, if we're not listing how they can complete both (even the guys that can do both since they're still active), why list it twice that did both? retched (talk) 15:14, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Apuestas matches

You have a good point on those, I know that traditionally it's usually mask/mask or hair/hair but you're right we should make it obvious when that's not actually the case. Perhaps list the wager next to their name - so Ultimo Guerrero (Mask) Ohara (Hair) or something like that? or a column for wager 1 and wager 2. I have been listing the events, when they have a name in the notes section but it not a bad idea to have a separate column. Perhaps the best thing to do is create a template for Apuestas matches?  MPJ -US  15:39, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Currentness

I noticed that http://www.wwe.com/superstars has a dropdown menu of filters, the first (and default) being "current". This actually includes William Regal under W. So even though it's been a while since he wrestled, the web site classifies him as a "current roster superstar".

As an alternative to 'active within the last 9 months' do you want to go by whether or not the site lists them as current?

Older categories like "Hall of Fame", "WWE Alumni", "WCW Alumni", and "ECW Alumni" exist. So if someone shows up under the Hall/Alumni and not "current" that could be one clear and official-based discriminator.

It seems 'superstar' includes guys like Scott Standard, so it is not wrestler-specific.

If you want a 2-tier approach, we could possibly have "listed as current on site" and "has wrestled within X months" as a "needs both" criteria. This would exclude more people. Ranze (talk) 05:01, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Whether we consider the 'primary' role of a person to be wrestler or trainer is inconsequential. Someone who takes on the duty of training others can still get a title shot or even win the title. There are plenty of locker room leaders holding titles while showing newbies the ropes.
Will Jericho wrestle in Japan for the WWE or what? If we consider non-WWE wrestling activity to mean someone should be listed then this opens up guys like Shelton Benjamin.
Prioritizing Eddie's WWE title over WCW one makes sense, but even if Angle won the WCW United States title in the WWE, it was still a WCW-named one, so my point was just to keep an eye out for that and check the time it was won.
Not sure about the "X matches" thing you mention, you mean a fixed amount of time since their last match? This is an impartial way to evaluate. Otherwise you get into hard-to-prove speculation like whether a wrestler is under contract, if they will return from injury, etc. Fact is, in Feb, the NAO had a title match at a PPV and they were being removed from the page while Taker had only a non-title match 10 months prior. As is everything else in life when lawyers get involved, the whole thing is now a big mess. So until they figure out which way is up, the best thing is to leave Moose off the GFW roster until we get a definitive word.

If his contract with GFW is good, he can always be put back, if ROH is deemed to be in the right, then he stays off. Yes, he's on the GFW official roster, but that was before all the legal BS started.

When in doubt, play it safe - which is in this case leave him off until this mess gets settled.

Eugene was not in Evolution

Despite your many attempts to include Eugene in the Evolution article, Eugene was in fact not in the group. Unless you have a credible source that states otherwise, please stop adding Eugene to the page. WWE has stated multiple times on television and on their website that the members of Evolution were Triple H, Ric Flair, Batista, and Randy Orton. Eugene has never been mentioned to have ever been in the group. He may have befriended Triple H, but Eugene never became an official member.

Wikipedia articles are a joint effort of the community in order to ensure that the articles are mostly correct. Your poor reasoning as to why Eugene was in Evolution is not helping. Eugene-Evolution

For the last time, Eugene was not in Evolution. As you stated in the article yourself, it says Triple H simply used Eugene to get to Benoit. Just because Triple H said Eugene is "in" Evolution, it doesn't mean he actually was.

Triple H used him, and therefore he also lied to him. Plain and simple. The source you used is Wrestleview, which may be "reputable", but it was simply a RESULTS page, and therefore the purpose for the page is to do a live report of what happened. My point is that the page from Wrestleview was not a news article, it was a results page. A results page is not reputable, but a news article is. So unless you can find a news article about Eugene and Evolution, stop sourcing the results page. New information has surfaced about Dalton Castle associating his wrestling gimmick name with his real name, which appears to be Brett Giehl, as an amateur comedian for a January 2014 event.

I am wondering if you think these finds indicate adequate evidence to list this as his real name, and where we ought to discuss him doing comedy sets at "The Joke Factory" in his page.

In the past I would've wanted a real name to have the page under so that we could list Dalton Castle and Ashley Remington as gimmicks. However since he has grown in popularity as Dalton Castle in ROH since that point, I'm wondering if we just ought to keep it where it is in spite of learning his name?

If this works as a confirmed association, then I already discussed on the talk other stuff about his background, like which county championship he won, school he went to, etc. These are available in online HS wrestling records. Ranze (talk) 09:14, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable website? That I'm not convinced. However, even if it was why is their opinion notable? Industry leaders and mainstream sites that cover the show are better sources to use for reception. Known sources can help show the full impact of the reception of the show. You get a couple of unknown sites stating their opinion, all that has been shown is a minor sector. The opinion of Meltzer may be different than writer A and that makes a difference since Meltzer is more credible. Alot of things play into what should be placed in the article and what shouldn't. This "New Japan Triple Crown" looks to be Tokyo Sports invention. リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen)(ZOOM) 21:14, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

TK O'Ryan edits

Can you please explain why you made the edits that you did to TK O'Ryan's page? I have permission from TK himself to use all of the photos that were posted. You even took out the whole "Notable matches" section... for what possible reason would you do this? Outchy (talk) 01:37, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

TK O'Ryan edits 2

The matches are notable because they were against notable wrestlers and more importantly, it's just a history of what he's done so far in his career. Why would you take that section out? Is there some sort of guideline that I don't know about saying what sections can or can't exist on someone's page? And who exactly is the "we" you're referring to in the statement "we don't include the section 'notable matches'"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Outchy (talkcontribs) 03:21, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WWE personnel template

I would feel bad doing that... I have no problem with it being declared an edit war, actually. Just to get a consensus. DantODB 23:07, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Vandalism?

How could it be vandalism if I reverted the template back to YOUR OWN edit (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:WWE_personnel&oldid=754024757)? lol HÊÚL. (talk) 12:34, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So...? HÊÚL. (talk) 00:00, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fisrt, is the Ambassador line really important to the template? But ok, let's move on! Austin Aries is on the broadcast team of 205 just because he is injured but he still is part of the Nxt roster. If Daniel Bryan was part of the show just like he was on Cruiserweight Classic would you move him from the Smackdown section to the broadcast one? He is on Nxt and deserves to be recognised as such. Next one: Sara Amato. Sara Amato is her real name but WWE recognise her ringname as Sara Del Rey, just like Matt Bloom as Jason Albert. Just look in the article where both of them were promoted: https://www.wwe.com/shows/wwenxt/new-nxt-head-coach-and-assistant-head-coach-named "Amato joined WWE in 2012 as Sara Del Rey after spending more than a decade working on the independent circuit.". Here is her Twitter account: https://twitter.com/thesaradelrey "Sara Del Rey WWE/NXT Assistant Head Coach". Since the template lists only ringnames she needs to be listed like this too. Just like Mr. McMahon. Another one: why Steve Keirn is listed on the template if he is not on WWE anymore? He was owner/president of Fcw and since all the developmental wrestlers moved to the Performance Center (way back in 2013) he did not work with them anymore. There is not a single article in WWE.com stating that he ever worked on the PC as a trainer: https://www.wwe.com/search/all/Steve%20Keirn Next one: why Tamina is listed on Raw brand and Mickie James on Smackdown if they do not even debuted? They have plans for them but there is nothing official yet. Just like when Luke Harper got well and started to appear on Raw live events. He never debuted on TV on the Raw brand. The same could happen with both of them, so they have to be listed as "unassigned personnel" until the official debut. The same goes to Brie Bella. She is not an ambassador. Why she is listed as such? She is appearing on TV (Total Bellas/Divas) and have plans to return to the ring after the birth of her child. She is not retired or gone from WWE. She just take a leave of absence from the ring to get pregnant, so she goes as "unassigned personnel" too. Triple H is just the COO and is not even appearing on TV nowadays. He just wrestles big events just like Shane McMahon is doing. He have to be moved to the "other on-air talent". And why keep removing Otis Dozovic from the templete? The guy has his own article now and everytime I add him to the template it get reverted. He even had his official debut on Nxt TV show during the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. After everything writen above do you really still think that it was vandalism? Is there anything wrong with what I said here? The one vandalising is this "DantODB" guy. He was vandalising even my personal talk page. :/ HÊÚL. (talk) 15:52, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So...? HÊÚL. (talk) 20:57, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tyrus (aka Brodus Clay) Birth Year

While I keep reading I'm supposed to see the "talk" page regarding Tyrus being born in 1973, I can't find that topic. What I have found is multiple sources confirming that Tyrus was born in 1980, and NOT 1973. A couple sources are: http://profightdb.com/wrestlers/tyrus-6631.html AND http://wrestlingdata.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=3000

If you have a CONFIRMED source, or sources, that Tyrus was born in 1973, please list them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.61.210.162 (talk) 17:54, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

TNA

As TNA has not aired the Championship match where Lashley lost to Patron on TV yet you can't change it yet. Wiki isn't a news site and TNA isn't even acknowledging the change yet, so until the taping airs TNA shows Lashley is still Champion and the article must reflect as such. British Triple Crown

What I'm wondering is why the wiki page for RPW Undisputed British Tag Team Championship looks nothing like the official title history. Scurll is there as part of the The Leaders of The New School. REEEEEbbon Salminen(talk) 18:18, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Now that it's fixed, yeah, there is enough evidence to show that the Revolution Pro triple crown is a thing. REEEEEbbon Salminen(talk) 22:01, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
1. We still don't have the weights/ages for the first champions so how can we tell who's the lightest, heaviest, youngest or oldest champ? Yeah, Ray is probably the oldest and heaviest, but there are still no reliable sources. 2.I don't think the titles have either of those in their names. They're just the "British Heavyweight", "British Cruiserweight" and "Undisputed British Tag Team" championships. No RevPros or RPWs. REEEEEbbon Salminen(talk) 18:56, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I've found weights for all the guys and have added the heaviest/lightest champions. Ray is 280, Jay 234, Mark 229, Taven 219, O'Ryan 205 and Marseglia 189.REEEEEbbon Salminen(talk) 19:21, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The American Wolves

Heads up, I found Template:The American Wolves recently, and it seems entirely pointless to have a navbox for a two-man tag team, even if they have won the TNA and ROH tag team titles. APM (talk) 12:48, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Diamond confusion

I noticed that you changed "Diamanté (wrestler)" to "Diamante (wrestler)" on some impact pages. Please make sure you have the right target. The impact female is "Diamanté", with the accent, the lino you added a couple of times is a masked Mexican male who worked for CMLL. Similar name but that is it.  MPJ-DK  22:10, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

La Luchadora

I was checking out his talk page to warn him about the la luchadora edit war that is starting to happen at Mickie James' article, and it seems there is a section which says there's a consensus that La Luchadora is not a ring name. You may want to comment on it both there and on WT:PW since there's a similar conversation there about nicknames and ring names. --wL<speak·check> 04:52, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I sincerely apologize about this confusion. I really thought that I was correcting an error. Thanks for understanding! Regarding La Luchadora, right now, it's 3–2. If you would like to get more editors to weigh in, feel free. Until then, I think the argument that it should be a ring name has been singular, whereas the counterargument has been extensive. Just something to look over over at the discussion page. Cheers to you! DantODB (talk) 10:24, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Elite

I didn't list it 'cause you'd have to show that The Elite is active in the promotion the title was won in. However, this one's tough, since the title was won and lost in backstage skits. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Bullet Club. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Unofficial reigns

I don't want to split our discussion about Adam Cole into two separate topics; so I'll ask here: How should we handle unrecognized reigns such as Inoki's WWF title reign (which is different from Cole's; Inoki actually won the title and was declared the new champ)? Have it in his C&A section with a note (it currently is like that)? Don't have it in his C&A section at all? And why? Bob Backlund and Inoki are the only two guys with unrecognized WWE title reigns; however Backlund doesn't have his unrecognized reign in his C&A and Inoki does.WrestlingLegendAS (talk) 00:52, 29 April 2018 (UTC)WrestlingLegendAS (talk) 00:52, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your "consensus" isn't a good one

I'd like to go ahead and double down on what the previous user said.
