Experiment 216 (Chinese: 试验 216) is the newest target ship in the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). Originally built as a SWATH test platform,[1] it was subsequently converted to a target ship by adding radar reflectors and other electronic equipment to simulate various targets in support of anti-ship weaponry development.[2] The exact details of Experiment 216 remain unknown as of 2014, because the Chinese authorities have not released any information other than photographs of the ship.
